New Chapter of Back From Death! this chapter, The Louds are going to Sweden for Lisa's nobel!Disclaimer: I do not own The Loud House
Stockholm, Sweden. A city that isn't famous by rigorous snowstorms, but on that Saturday morning, the residents of the city woke with the greatest snowstorms of all of the town's history. Meteorologists were flabbergasted at this notorious blizzard.
It has so sudden and unseen by any scientist. Sun was forecast for the day, but the 10 inches of snow on the streets were telling the opposite.
The president of the committee of the nobel prize looked through his window, combing his beard. Maybe advance the nobel ceremony may have been a bad idea. The nobel prize is typically made in december, but him decided to advance the ceremony for that year because a certain 4 year old that had been pointed as the winner of the medicine award. But he may have to delay the ceremony for his normal date.
The president looked at his old hand watch. No, it was too late for that. The winner already are on their way to Sweden. He sighed, wishing that blizzard ended before the ceremony that night.
He looked again to the blizzard Behind that window. Not a single person on the street. Of course, no one is crazy to go outside on a snowstorm like that. Wait.
The president saw a black figure approaching the window. It was enornous, like a huge black bear. But it walked on two feet. As it approached, the president recognized some aspects of that creature, appeared to be human, using a huge pelt coat, made of fur of a large white beast. His face was mostly covered by a scarf. The only human reminder that creature had was one of his eyes peeking out of the scarf.
As that man approached the window, with heavy and stern steps, the president backed, afraid that man could be a threat. The man stopped centimeters from the window and looked down to the president. He looked 10 feet tall. That giant looked to the president, giving him time to notice something terrifying about that giant. He had what looked a white mist involving him, like a ghostly aura.
With a sudden bang, the giant smaller his hand on the window, cracking the glass and startling the president, who runned to the door of the office. The president was opening the door when he saw with the corner of his eye that the giant had vanished.
The Louds arrived the airport not so long after they left the house, as they were exiting the van, a mustached man approached then with a Sweden accent on his pourly pronounced english.
"Excuse me, are you the Loud family?" He asked. The father smiled at his attempt to speak the language.
"Yes gentleman, I am Lynn Loud Sr." Lynn presented himself shaking the man's hand.
"Good, I am here on Royal Woods to accompany Lisa Loud and his family to Sweden." Spoke the man. Lisa then stepped forward.
"So that's me, gentleman." Said the little genius. The Sweden man gasped.
"Oh! You're really young! I though that was a joke!" The man whole his head and cleared his throat. "I am Christer Solveig and I am going to be your guide through your flight." The Louds looked at him confused.
"What do you mean?" Asked Lynn Jr.
"You're going to take the flight with our private jet of course." Explained Christer, making the Louds shift their eyes to him with googly eyes.
"WHAT?" Spoke them in unison. Christer giggled.
"Please, you all have your bags? So, follow me." He requested, walking to the airport. The Louds followed him, in some point, Christer talked to a guard and that guard guided them.
Thirty minutes later, they all had already boarded the jet, and obviously were amazed with how luxurious it was.
"Man... Lisa needs to win more awards." Commented Luna looking through the tv of the jet.
Another half an hour passed before the plane took off. The Louds were euphoric on the fact they were on a private jet, flying to Sweden! That was unbelievable! Just a week ago, Lincoln was dead and the Loud house was so depressed. But now, you could say that the Loud family was one of the most happy families in Royal Woods. And the skies were reflecting it, it was clear and the flight passed as a breeze.
Lincoln looked through the plane's window. It was so beautiful from that high. He's never been in a plane before. Yes, he is able to fly, but this was a different. He never flew so high. Lincoln leaned against the window, looking the landscape. For a split second, he fought the idea of just phasing through the window and fly alongside the plane.
"Do you ever flew?" Asked Christen to Lincoln with a gentle smile. Lincoln froze for a second.
"What?" Asked Lincoln.
"Do you ever flew in a plane?" Repeated Christen without losing the gentle tone in his voice.
"I... Never been in a plane before." Spoke Lincoln. With a awkward laugh. Christen also laughed, without realizing the awkwardness.
"Soon, we're going to arrive at Stockholm." Announced Christen, hlgoing back to the pilot cabin. Lincoln looked at the chair where Lisa was sitting. He saw her typing on her laptop. Curious, he got up of his seat and went sitting on her side.
"Hey Lis." He greeted.
"Hey." Spoke Lisa without taking your eyes off the screen. Lincoln leaned to see what she was typing. It looked she was working in her research on Lincoln's anatomy.
"How... Far you got already?" Whispered Lincoln.
"Surprisingly a little more far then I expected, but without DNA samples of another specimen to compare it with yours. There some aspects that I need to figure out if it's a constant or just a varietion." Explained Lisa.
"I see..." Commented Lincoln nodding his head. He was about to ask another question when the laptop made a beeping sound. "What is this?"
Lisa closed her research and opened what looked like a meteorology or forecasting apparatus. Lincoln didn't understood what he was looking.l, but seeing that Lisa's eyes widened, he became concerned.
"A massive snowstorm is hitting Stockholm right now." Spoke Lisa, getting the attention of the rest of the family.
"Is this bad?" Spoke Lori.
"Looking at this snow clouds... Stockholm never saw a blizzard this severe in all it's history." As Lisa ended explaining, the jet started to shake.
"We're entering the storm!" Shouted Luan holding to her seat.
"Everyone hold tight!" Spoke Lincoln, getting up. "I'm going to the pilots cabin!" Lincoln struggled to walk to the cabin with all the shaking the jet was enduring.
Lincoln entered the cabin holding himself in the walls. The pilot was struggling to control the jet with all the wind the sto was making.
"How is the situation?" Spoke Lincoln, surprising Christen
"What you doing here kid?" Scolded Christen before almost falling in the floor with a powerful gust that struck the jet.
"The storm appeared so suddenly that I didn't had time turn around in time!" Spoke the pilot. "If we don't arrive at the airport soon, we won't make it!" The pilot completed. Lincoln looked through the front window. The three then, heard someone entering the cabin, as they looked back, Lisa walked to Lincoln with struggle.
"The winds are making the vertical stabilizer go wild, we need to find a way to stabilize it!" Spoke Lisa.
"How?" Spoke Christen. Lincoln and Lisa exchanged looks and nodded to each other. Lincoln, runned down the plane corridor, flew up and phased the ceiling flying and directly hitting the vertical fin.
"Ouch." Muttered Lincoln, hugging himself on the fin, he looked the fin, the flap really was flapping back and forth without control. "Ok, You can do this." Lincoln spoke to himself. Letting himself fly away from the fin.
But the winds and snow made Lincoln all behind the jet. Lincoln flew the fastest he could to keep up with the jet. "Come on..." He muttered. Lincoln then, grabbed the flap, shaking back and forth. After some seconds shaking, he was able to land his feet on a part of the plane's fuselage and use his strength to stop the flap. "Yes!" He spoke.
Inside the cabin, the pilot noted the stabilization that Lincoln was providing. "It's working! And I can see the airport approaching!" He speaked initiating the process of landing.
As they landed, Lincoln buffed in exhaustion. He looked down and saw the amount of snow on the ground. He sighed and let himself fall unconscious.
Lincoln woke, he was in a unfamiliar bed, his whole body was aching, especially his back, but he made an effort to sit on the bed. "Man... I'm never going to do that again." Luna, then entered the bedroom and as he saw Lincoln awake.
"Lincoln! You're finally awake!" She spoke walking to him. "Are you ok?"
"My whole body hurts." Lincoln said struggling to get out of the bed. "Where are we?" Lincoln asked. Luna didn't responded. She was paralyzed after seeing how Lincoln was having pain. "Luna? You're crying." Luna wiped her tears.
"Sorry Lincoln... Just... Let me help you." With her help, Lincoln got up and they both exited the bedroom, arrivimg in a living room, where the rest of the family, Christen and the president of the committee were sitting on a luxurious couch.
"... Where are we?" Asked Lincoln.
"At the house of Christen's boss." Luna Answered.
"Oh Lincoln! You're awake!" Spoke Rita. Luna helped her brother sitting on the couch.
"Lincoln, this is Doctor Goustauf Weller, He is the president of the nobel committe." Lisa presented Weller to Lincoln.
"Hi doctor, nice to meet you." Spoke Lincoln. Weller observed Lincoln.
"So... You are the ghost boy that saved my jet?" Asked Weller. Lincoln gulped and looked to Lisa.
"We had to tell them." She explained.
"And they believed?" Asked Lincoln. Weller laughed a little.
"That storm was really a surprise!" Spoke Lana.
"Yes. All the city is closed." Spoke Christen. "If this don't stop soon, we'll need to cancel the ceremony of tonight."
"This blizzard is really unexpected. I didn't saw anywhere about a snowstorm so strong for any time soon.
"It wasn't unexpected." Spoke Weller. Making the Louds and Christen confused. Weller combed his beard and got up from the couch. "Please, come with me." The guests followed him to his office. After entering, they approached the cracked window.
"What is this?" Asked Lincoln.
"Earlier today, I was alone in the office, when I saw a weird towering giant approaching the window." Explained Weller.
"Giant..." Lincoln repeated observing the crack at the glass.
"He approached and looked at me through the window, then, he slammed his hand on the window. I tried run but when I saw, he was gone." Said Weller, complementing his explanation.
"You think this giant is the responsible for the blizzard?" Asked Lisa.
"That giant also glowed a white aura." Spoke Weller. "Anyway, the preparations on amphitheater that the ceremony is going to take place are ready, but of the blizzard, the guests and nominees can't leave their hotels. Is too dangerous."
As soon Weller ended talking, they all heard a low howl coming from the window, claiming the attention of all the people on the office. The blizzard was stronger. The snow and hail hitting the glass almost broking it. The howls became closer and closer.
Lincoln, despite the pain in his back, took up a defensive position. He felt that the beast would break into the office at any moment.
-CRASH- With a sudden and loud howl, the same giant beast the Weller saw earlier broke the door behind them, getting them off guard. The Louds Screamed taking cover, but Weller was caught by the giant with a single hand.
"Doctor!" Shouted Christen. Lincoln without warning, launched himself into the giant, grabbing him by snow hood. The giant grunted and released Weller to catch Lincoln of his face. He grabbed the boy by the waist and forced him of, Lincoln flew of with his scarf in hands.
"My back" Lincoln spoke coliding with the desk, before realizing the scarf in his hand. "What?" Lincoln and the others looked up to the giant and saw what he hid behind the scarf. He was just normal bearded man, although with a large scar on his forehead.
"Doctor..." Muttered Weller without believing, Lisa and Christen also appeared to recognize the man. "Doctor Haily?" Completed.
The giant made a angry scowl to Weller and Lisa, he looked he was about to pounce on them, but looked back to Lincoln and growled, then, runned and jump through the window breaking it and vanishing in the white storm.
"That was... A cold reception." Spoke Liam, making the others groan.
"You know that man?" Asked Lincoln getting back on his feet with Luna's assistance.
"That was Doctor Albert Haily. Physician. He made great discoveries in the metrology field but..." Lisa stopped explaining.
"He died months ago in a car crash." Completed Christen.
"He was the one supposed to receive the Nobel of physics this year, but he died before he could." Explained Weller.
"Well." Spoke Lincoln. "He's back as ghost, like me, and probably causing the blizzard."
"But he is a man of science! Why he would make such blizzard?" Asked Christen.
"Don't know, but we need to make him stop, if this blizzard go further... I don't want even want to think about it." Spoke Lincoln.
"But how we're going to find him?" Asked Christen. Lisa cleared her throat.
"I have something in mind, if you allow me to explain." Lisa went back to the living room and shortly after came back with her laptop, and opened in the satellite view of the snowstorm that she and Lincoln saw in the jet. "I was trying to figure out why, but you see how the snowstorm is whirling around in such union? Almost like a snow hurricane? When Doctor Haily invaded, the blizzard became stronger. I think he is not only the one creating the blizzard but also he is the epcenter of it." Everyone looked confused to Lisa, the girl sighed and explained. "He is in the middle of the storm."
"Oh!" spoke the others.
"Ok, so where's the center of the storm?" Asked Lincoln approaching Lisa to see better the laptop. Also Weller and Christen did the same.
"Wait a second... There this coordinates, he's moving to..." She pointed the epcenter shifting in the map.
"He's going to Mount Courbut." Pointed Christen.
"The highest point in the city." Complemented Weller.
"So, he's going there, I'll be going to met him!" Spoke Lincoln, before feeling a strong pain on his back. "My back!"
"Lincoln!" Spoke Lisa. "I can't go in your current condition."
"Lisa." Spoke Lincoln. "This blizzard's going to continue, putting everyone in the city in danger, until someone stop Haily. And the only one who can do something is me right now." Spoke Lincoln with a serious tone on his voice The loud family had a chill on their back, that was the first time they saw how Lincoln was taking the ghost hunt seriously, Lynn and Rita smiled a little, seeing how Lincoln was acting so mature and responsible. He picked the amulet from his pocket.
"So... I'll go with you." Spoke Lisa. Making Lincoln and the rest of the Louds surprised.
"What? No!" Spoke Lincoln.
"Lincoln, You would need a little help in your position and you also need me to trace him on the fly!" Cleared Lisa. Lincoln sighed and looked to Rita.
"Mom?" He asked.
"You two have our permission. " Spoke Rita. "But both need to wear their coats!
Lisa and Lincoln nodded.
Lincoln was flying high, with Lisa sitting on his back, she had her laptop. Lincoln was struggling a little to keep both in the air, his body still ached and the added weight in his back didn't helped.
"The storm is getting stronger!" Shouted Lincoln to Lisa
"Good, this means that we're getting close!" Responded Lisa "Look!" Lisa pointed down, Lincoln looked at the direction she was pointing, he saw the peak of the mount they where heading. He noticed a large cave near the peak.
"He's close?" Questioned Lincoln, lowering their height to land on the cave. Before Lisa could respond, a loud roar came from inside the cave. "Yes, he is."
He landed right outside the entrance of the cave and Lisa got of his back. Both leaned inside the cave and saw Haily shaking his head and arms, while grunting in pain.
"What's going on with him?" Whispered Lisa.
"I think he's having a breakdown. Like when I do my poltergeists." Deduced Lincoln.
"Maybe he don't know what his doing." Spoke Lisa. "Maybe we can help him get his mind clear." Lincoln nodded.
They both sneakered insid the cave and approached slowly Haily, still shaking his head
"Doctor Haily" Spoke Lisa abruptly. Haily stopped and looked at their direction with angry eyes. "Doctor, you're confused, but I and my brother here can help you." Continued. Haily growled, making Lincoln sweat even with the glacial temperature. Again, Haily looked he was about to pounce on them, but he didn't.
"Lisa Loud." Spoke Haily with a deep, dragged voice. He had fury in his voice.
"Doctor." Spoke Lisa scared at his reaction. "You... Need to stop the blizz-" Lisa was interupted by a short roar of Haily.
"I have dedicated my whole life to science, person years of laboratories studying and researching, in the hope of one day, get the nobel for my efforts. But NO! I DIDN'T GOT IT!" Lisa gulped. "But you... You... YOU WON IT WITH 4!" Roared Haily. "And! And, when I finally won my deserved nobel... I die!" Haily Roared as furious as ever.
"Doctor..." Started Lisa, but she stopped when Haily Roared again.
"This is unfair! Unfair!" Shouted Haily throwing a punch on Lisa, but Lincoln was quicker and grabbed the fist.
"You need to calm down Mr. Haily." Spoke Lincoln. Haily shaked his fist, Lincoln losed his grip and flew against a wall of the cave. "My back..." Grunted Lincoln slowly rasing from the ground, but Haily grabbed Lincoln by the leg and again swung him against another wall.
"Haily, I know you're outraged by what happened to you." Spoke Lincoln struggling to get back on his feet. Haily kicked Lincoln against the wall. The snow ghost throw another punch against Lincoln, but Lincoln caught it. "Look, I'm trying to reason with you, but you're getting over my nerves." Lincoln became intangible and phased through the ground, resulting to Haily falling on the ground. Lincoln rose from the ground behind him, Lincoln had enough, his eyes glowed red. His eyes didn't glow since his fight with the bull.
"I know it was unfair!" Spoke Lincoln before charging against Haily's back gripping him against the wall using his force. "I really know. I DIED AT AGE 11!" Haily trued to free himself, but Lincoln was forcing him with all his might. "I had so much things I wanted to do." Lincoln grabbed Haily's arm and flung him against another wall.
"So many places I wanted to go." Lincoln spoke, slowly approaching Haily, who didn't reacted, just keep looking down. "But this don't mean that I am discounting my anger in innocent people." Lincoln kicked Haily, making him fall on his side. Lincoln them grabbed Haily by the neck and lifted him, floating up to also lift Haily of ground.
Lincoln raised his fist, preparing to punch Haily, but Lisa interfered. "LINCOLN!" She screamed. Lincoln shaked his head, his heads stopped glowing, Lincoln saw the horrified look on Haily's face. Lincoln released him. Haily fell on the ground and slowly sitted up.
"Doctor!" Lisa runned to Haily, the scientific had a sad and shameful expression. His body started to deflate. "You're all right?" She asked.
"He... He is right." Haily finally spoke. "I was so blind... I'm sorry." Spoke shamefully.
"Doctor..." Lisa spoke. Haily looked up, to see Lisa's face.
"I was so blind by my search for the nobel... That I forgot that the reward isn't more important than the discovery. For a man of science like me... I'm so shamed of myself..."
"It's ok now Doctor." Spoke Lisa. "Were here to help you rest.
"Lisa." Haily Spoke. "Before I died, I heard about you. You're so brilliant. So brilliant for your age."
"Lisa." Called Lincoln. Both scientists looked to him, the boy picked the amulet from his pocket.
"Oh... So, it's time." Spoke Haily. Getting on his knees. His body had deflated completely, he was now in his normal, before death height. Lincoln looked to Haily them Lisa, and Back to Haily.
"Lisa, you do it." Spoke Lincoln handing the amulet to Lisa.
"What?" She asked confused.
"You do it, just, place it on his forehead." Spoke Lincoln, walking to the entrance to the cave, leaving nthe two scientists alone.
"You're ready doctor?" Asked Lisa.
"You're researching about ghosts right?" Asked Haily simply. Surprising Lisa.
"Yes... But I couldn't go far enough." Spoke Lisa, Haily made a smirk.
"Then, do you want a new blood sample for you research?" Asked Haily, Lisa's eyes twinkle.
"Yes! Can I?" Haily nodded, Lisa then, pulled from her coat a syringe and a test tube and collected Haily's blood. "Thank you Doctor! Good that I always have a syringe in hand to collect samples!" Haily laughed.
"You're prepared, so, now..." Haily closed his eye and leaned forward to make his forehead on Lisa's reach.
"Good bye." Spoke Lisa, gently putting the amulet on Haily's forehead. He started to be sucked into the amulet.
Lisa picked the amulet who falled into the ground. She looked to the entrance of the cave, Lincoln nwas sitting on a rock, looking the landscape, the storm had stopped, and the clouds were opening
"Lincoln?" Spoke Lisa, approaching Lincoln. "Are you good?" Lisa was a concerned at Lincoln he acted so aggressively there, that was out of character for him. The little girl never saw her brother like that, even when he fought bthat bull.
"I'm good." Spoke Lincoln thoughtful. Lisa sat on his side, observing him. "It's beautiful over here." He commented. Lisa felt that Lincoln didn't wanted to speak about that.
"So... You're going to took us back to Weller's house?" Asked Lisa.
"Yes, just, give me some minutes..." Spoke Lincoln placing his hand on his back. "My back hurts."
"So. For the nominee to Nobel of medicine, this year, Lisa Loud." Spoke Weller in the stage. The amphitheater was full. Since the blizzard was over, the ceremony of the nobel was occuring as planned.
The Louds smiled, they all were using their formal suits and dresses, Lisa got up from her seat and calmly walked to the stage, being bombarded by a loud ovation from the audience, which, most of the noise, came from the family of the young geniuswho was now at stage receiving her award.
Lisa looked at the medal on her hand, and turned to the pulpit, making the Audi silent for her speech.
"This award." She started. "I feel like this was my dream. Being here. Being able to make a great discovery in science and deserve this." She looked to her family. "But I won't lie." She stopped and glanced at Lincoln. "The reason that made me deserve this medicine award, is my discovery of the cure for a decease in the brain." Lincoln sighed." "But I didn't gave my efforts to a selfless reason. I didn't made the cure to help hundreds of not thousands of people around the world. I made that cure, in the effort to save my brother. Lincoln." The Louds discreetly looked at Lincoln, who had his head lowered. "When he got diagnosed with the brain tumor... I couldn't believe it. I didn't wanted to believe it. I refused to allow it. I pridefully though that with my mind I could find the cure... But I failed. Even racing against time, I couldn't find the cure in time." Lisa started to cry. "But... -Chuif- Before you died..." Spoke Lisa, Lincoln rose his head and saw Lisa looking directly to him. "You said that my efforts weren't in vain. Even If you couldn't been saved, You was proud of me... That when I find the cure, I Would make so many people happy... You took a massive weight off my shoulders... Thank you. Thank you Lincoln. I love you." Lisa took of her glasses to clean her eyes and put them back. "This will be all. Thank you."
Lisa made a reverence and walked back to her seat. None of the Louds talked, and Lincoln had his head low again. Like that, the ceremony continued.
When the ceremony ended, the Louds were walking back to the limo of Christen to took them to Weller's house where they will pass the night. Lincoln stood quiet the entire car trip. When they arrived at the house, Lincoln finally walked over to Lisa, and hugged her tightly
And without saying a single word, they ended their day, early in the next morning, they were going to fly back to Royak Woods.
Man, this was a hard chapter to write, I had to search online about the city of Stockholm and Sweden, Names, even geografy of the place, well, the mount in the chapter was created by me, but still. This chapter was a little filler, but not so much, some details that I wrote will continue on further chapters, such as Lisa research on undead anatomy.I also am thinking, but not not so sure of I will actually go further, to make a little arc and a ghost for each one of the sisters, for everyone have their moment of shine. This chapter we got Lisa's.Well, this is all for now, Bye
