Finally Chapter 21 Of Back From Death is ready. I'm sorry for the time, but I recently started college, and I and very preoccupied at the moment. Anyway, I wish you a good read!DISCLAIMER: I do NOT The Loud House
"So, what do you think about the idea?" Asked Lincoln to Lisa. They were in Lisa and Lily's room, some time after ARGGH and the Mysterians had leaved the house. Lisa, sitting in her chair, tapping a pencil in a notebook, thinking about the proposal Lincoln had made.
"It's indeed a noteworthy idea, my research with the Ectoplasm properties is becoming more stagnated, but by making the items you requested, I might come to new breakthroughs for the research." Lisa concluded her thought, still tapping the pencil.
"So, this is a yes?" Questioned Lincoln. Lisa made a quick nod.
"But I have stay clear Lincoln." Said Lisa, pointing the pencil to her brother. "It'll take time for me to create the technology you want."
"I know Lisa, take your time..." Lincoln spoke, seeing Lisa start to sketch a design of one of the items Lincoln requested. He observed Lisa working, when he realized something. "Lisa..."
"Yes Lincoln?" She spoke, still sketching.
"Just now I noticed that you started calling me by my name more often." He said. Lisa looked at him for a second before going back to the sketch.
"You used to call me by male sibling. But you started calling me by name. To be honest, you started calling all of us by name." He added as he recorded listening her calling Lynn by name in the breakfast.
"Yes, I started to call all of you by name, Although I think my pragmatic nicknames are still useful in formal events, I am trying to be more empathic with you. That's why I started calling you and our other sisters by the first name." She explained, still in her sketch.
"I see..." Said Lincoln, observing the gentle strokes Lisa made with the pencil. "But why tho? This seems a very sudden change of mind for you."
"And indeed was. I still struggle a little." She noted.
"Them again, why?" Lincoln asked.
"It was your request Lincoln." She said, looking at her brother. Lincoln stood silent for some seconds. He didn't remember asking that for her at any moment. That meant that was a request he made for her before he died.
"Oh... I see..." He said, twisting slowly a leg and looking at the carped. " I'll... let you work then." He said, floating backwards, phasing through the door and back to his room.
Lincoln stopped floating and laid in his bed, looking at the ceiling. The first step was done. Soon, with his help, Lisa will soon finish the creation of the items.
Lincoln took the amulet of his pocket and looked at bronze artifact that was the only way he had to finish a fight for good. If he didn't had that thing, he would never be able to send a ghost to the other side.
Lincoln observed the sculpted runes that adorned the edges of the bronze plate. How this thing works? The boy thought. The amulet could send ghost to the other side, but it was not the only thing, sometimes, he was able to copy the power of the ghost who's the amulet absorbs.
First was that ghost in his school. He absorbed it's super strength. Then, the ghost at the mall, he defeated that one and now have telekinesis.
Lincoln fought a bunch of lesser interesting ghosts after that, a ghost in a car wash, one in a pet shop, And even one that was scaring the clients off Burpin' Burger.
And that night he not just defeated a ghost, but brutally beaten it to the ground, he didn't stopped even when it was already down. Lincoln eyed the bandages in his hands
Lincoln sighed again. He wasn't angry anymore. That anger that he felt while beating him had totally vanished. For good, Lincoln hoped. But he has to do something to prevent that to happen again.
And Lincoln, proving why he have the nickname of Man With The Plan, already had a plan. But not a prevention plan. But a contingency plan.
The first step was done. He asked Lisa for items that would allow the other Mysterians to help more in the fights against the rogue ghosts. Well, that was one of reasons he wanted that items. The other, that he didn't told Lisa, was for using them to go against himself. Hopefully with his help, the items will be the perfect weapons to counter him.
He didn't needed to do the second step necessarily after Lisa has finished the items...
He would need to do in a day where he was free. Maybe next Saturday. Well, If none of his sister needs his attention. Or if ARGGH!! Don't find a ghost for them to capture.
Lincoln sighed. He needs to be very careful while executing this plan. He couldn't lose control on the wrong moment. Lincoln hoped that the contingency plan wouldn't be necessary. But he needed to be prepared if the worse happens.
He sighed again, getting up to change himself into his sleeping outfit. As soon he finished putting his pajamas, he turned the light of the room off and got under the blanket, getting cozy. Minutes later, he was deeply asleep.
He woke when his alarm took off like a jackhammer in his head. Took a few minutes to Lincoln recompose from the scare he took. He yawned and jumped of his bed and went off the room. He saw the usual line to the bathroom and walked to the end of it, giving a tired good morning to Luna.
As the line slowly got smaller, he noticed that the door of Lynn and Lucy's room was still closed. "They didn't woke yet?" Wondered Lincoln.
"Lincoln." Spoke Lucy, making Lincoln jump scared again. Just Lucy to scare a ghost like that. He looked back, seeing that she was the one behind him in the line.
"huh... Good morning Lucy! I see that you're already up." Spoke Lincoln, holding his chest, trying to calm his accelerated heart.
"Sigh. Yes, but Lynn still is sleeping. I tried to waking her, but she sleeps like if she had died." Spoke Lucy, looking at the closed door for her room. Lincoln chuckled.
"This is so Lynn." He also looked at the door and thought for a second. "If you hold my spot in the line, I can try to wake her." Proposed Lincoln.
"Ok." Said Lucy simply. Lincoln nodded and floated against the door, phasing through.
He saw Lynn, in her bed, snoring like a motorcycle struggling to start. She had a string of saliva dripping out of the corner of her wide open mouth. Her pillow was nearly soaked in saliva, but Lynn didn't seemed to care, the blanket was down her ankles. Lincoln deduced that she moved so much in her sleep that the blanket got all the way down there.
She was wearing the old jersey that she used to sleep, and was in a weird contorted position. Lincoln snorted when he saw the exorcist like position she was.
"Lynn." He called, gently shaking her shoulder. But she didn't woke. "Lynn!" He called again, shaking her with a little more force.
And without his intention, he felt his hand sinking into Lynn's, shoulder. And without being able to do anything, his arm also sink, them his shoulder and soon. He was fully sucked, vanishing.
After a few seconds, Lynn opened her eye, analyzing the ceiling for some more seconds, before sitting abruptly in the bed, nearly freaking out. She looked at his hands, them to her legs, them to the jersey she was wearing.
The scream she made scared even Mr. Grouse, who was watering his plants in his backyard.
The other Loud sisters busted into the room to see what happened, just to see Lynn freaking in the floor.
"Lynn?" Called Lori looking the weird situation.
"Where's Lincoln? He entered the room to wake you." Spoke Lucy. Lynn stopped and looked at Lucy, then running up to her, grabbing Lucy by the shoulders.
"Lucy! Lucy!" Spoke Lynn in desperation. "It's me! Lincoln!"
Lucy and the other Sisters gasped. "I'm inside Lynn's body!" Said Lincoln, in Lynn's body.
"How is this possible?" Asked Lori.
"Lincoln must have absorbed the power of yesterday's ghost." Speculated Luna.
"Wait, so Lincoln is Lynn now?" Asked Leni, looking lost, but trying to follow along.
"Yes Leni." Said Lola, surprised that her second oldest sister was being able to understand what was happening.
"But how do you got in there Lincoln?" Asked Lana.
"I don't know, I just shook her to try wake her!" Spoke Lincoln.
"Well, now you have intern view of Lynn's perspective! Haha... Get it?" Joked Luan, making the others groan.
"But how am I going to get out of her? I need to get the day started! And it's a school day!" Said Lincoln.
"I Don believe I'm doing this..." Said Lynn, or rather Lincoln. The boy was still in her body. It isn't needed to say how awkward was this. With Lori's help, he was able to change into Lynn's regular red and white jersey and shorts while he kept her eyes closed.
He didn't had any idea what he would do, Lynn is 2 grades above him and he didn't knew who Lynn's friends were. Well, Aside from Polly Pain , who Lincoln didn't really knew much and Margo, who was her best friend And was her teammate in almost every sport team in the school, oh shoot the sports team!
If he didn't find a way to get out of her body soon, he would be forced to play in her place. What to do, what to do, what to do... The guys! Maybe they will know what to do!
Lincoln walked up the few steps of the entrance of the school and entered the building, directing to his locker, where the others used to hang while waiting for the class.
As he turned a hallway, he saw his buddies talking normally, and proceeded to approach them in a awkward smile.
"Oh, Hey Lynn!" Greeted Clyde. "Is Lincoln with you? He asked.
"It's me!" Said Lincoln, in a rushed manner. The Mysterians looked Lynn confused.
"What?" They spoke in unison.
"It's me! Lincoln! I'm in Lynn's body!" Lincoln tried to explain, still rushing his words. The Mysterians traded confused looks.
"Are you serious or you're joking with us Lynn?" Asked Clyde with a eyebrow raised, suspicious.
"Of course I'm serious! Today I was going to wake Lynn and I ended possessing her!" Lincoln explained further.
"So, a new power woke? Probably from that ghost of yesterday." Speculated Clyde.
"But why are you still in her body Lincoln?" Questioned Rusty.
"I don't know how to! I don't want to be in Lynn's body! You don't know how awkward was to change from her sleeping outfit!" His friends made a cringe face upon imagining the situation.
"Ok, we'll help you, we just need to think what to do..." Spoke Clyde rubbing his chin.
"Oh Lynn, there you are!" Said a voice behind Lincoln, who looked back. It was Polly, alongside her, was two girls how Lincoln didn't knew, a blonde girl with a Cast in her left leg, called Paula Price. And a girl called Diane Whiskers.
"Oh, hey... Polly... Did... you watched the game yesterday?" Greeted Lincoln with a awkward smile, trying to sound like his sister.
"Yesterday didn't had any game." Said Polly, tilting her head to the side. "Lynn, are you all right?"
"Oh yes, I am great! The good old sports fanatic Lynn Loud Jr.!" Liam and Rusty looked at each other, cringing at the awkwardness aura that Lincoln was emitting.
"All right... Ok let's go to the class!" Said Polly grabbing Lincoln by the wrist and dragging him away from the Mysterians, who mouthed a "Good Luck" wish.
"What a pain in the butt." Grunted Polly, resting her chin in her hand. Lynn's class was having a group class, so the desks of Lynn/Lincoln, Paula, Diane and Polly were arranged in a way that they could do the activity, but just Diane, the smartest of them, was the one resolving the math questions.
Lincoln was looking the questions, puzzled, he barely could understand just a few of the questions. That was the result of entering a math class two grades above yours, Lincoln though.
"So, this X represents a number that we don't know?" Asked Lincoln. Diane Just nodded, still focused in resolving the equation.
"Jeez Lynn, I thought you was finally getting the first degree equations." Noted Paula. Lincoln made a awkward laugh.
"I just wanted a little refresher." Excused Lincoln, trying to disguise. Paula seemed to buy the excuse, as she shrugged off.
"Man, I still miss Margo in the classes..." Commented Polly, looking over the window, gazing at the football field.
"Margo?" Said Lincoln, without understanding what she meant.
"Yes, Margo! I miss her in classes, but two years ago so had to repeat the Fifth grade..."
"Repeat the fifth..." Mumbled Lincoln, starting to fill the pieces of this little puzzle.
"Hey, Lynn, Margo said that she was in the same class as your little brother!" Said Polly, opening a smile. Lincoln made another awkward laugh.
"I guess... She repeated fifth grade two times?" Questioned Lincoln.
"Meh, I think yes, he's in fifth grade right?" Asked Paula. Lincoln nodded. "To be honest... I think I'm a little jealous of her." Commented.
"What do you mean?" Asked Lincoln.
"Lynn, we already talked about that. Lincoln is kinda cute." Said Paula. Almost instantly, Lynn's face turned red as Lincoln blushed.
"Hehe... Do-do you think I-he is?" Lincoln stuttered, shifting in his seat.
"Yes, I think he's cute, let's talk about something else? Asked Paula, a little annoyed.
As the "Hehe... Do-do you think I-he is?" Lincoln stuttered.
The desks where already in place when the bell for the lunch break rang. Lincoln tried sneaking his way to the cafeteria without being seen by the girls, but it had been in vain, they snuck behind him and gave him a scare.
"Hahaha Lynn, what's with you today? You never fall for this knife of scares!" Spoke Polly, laughing at the face Lynn/Lincoln was making.
"So, let's get something to eat, after the break, we'll have volleyball practice!" Said Paula, pulling Lincoln by his Jersey's collar.
After setting themselves on a table with their lunches, the girls started chatting. Well, Polly, Paula and Diane were, Lincoln was scanning the refectory, in search of the mysterians.l, and he found them, as usual, but they were on the table they always sat on.
Lincoln formulated a plan, he could excuse himself, saying he was going to the restroom and go talk with them, they probably had already figured a way to get Lincoln of Lynn's body.
As Lincoln was getting up from his seat, he and the girls heard a loud shout coming in their direction. It was Margo, being accompanied by Girl Jordan, who looked oddly disappointed and annoyed.
"HEY! Greeted Margo, being bombarded with heys and his from the girls. "You girls already know Girl Jordan here, right?"
"Yeah, she's your friend from fifth grade!" Said Polly.
"That's right!" Spoke Margo, sitting in Lincoln's left and Girl Jordan in his right.
"Hey, why the face girl?" Asked Polly after noticing Girl Jordan's expression.
"It's nothing..." Said Jordan, eyeing something with the corner of her eyes. Lincoln looked at her, curious.
Lincoln followed her eyes and saw what she was looking at. It was the Mysterians table she was looking. Lincoln looked back to Jordan, already thinking the reason she was like that.
"Oh, come on girl!" Spoke Polly energetically. "what is eating ya?" Asked. Jordan Grunted and sighed.
"It's your brother Lynn." She said, turning to the Loud in the table, who shivered a little.
"He, what's with Lincoln?" He asked trying to sound like Lynn.
"You tell me, he is absent today, can you tell me why?" Asked Jordan.
"I... Uh... He is..." Lincoln looked around to formulate a lie fast, he then saw a boy eating a yogurt and spoke without thinking much. "He got food poisoning yesterday and passed all night in the bathroom!" The girls made a engrossed look.
"Ew." They all said in unison. Lincoln fought the urge of face palming himself. Seriously Lincoln?
"Huh..." Jordan shrugged. "I still think is weird Lincoln being back." She said, Lincoln tensed. "What happened after all?" She asked. Lynn's heart almost stopped for a second. "What really happened?"
Lincoln stood quiet. Looking at Jordan's interrogative eyes. He didn't knew what to say. He knew that she didn't buied that story of him only faking his death, but also didn't knew what to do if she asked.
"Did he really faked his death? Did he lied to everyone like that? HE LIED TO ME?" The girls just started looking back and forth to Jordan and Lynn. Jordan had started crying. Her voice breaking and tears running down her cheeks. The whole cafeteria was looking at them, some curious about the shouts, others annoyed about them.
"SO?" Shouted, without caring if she was making a scene. Lincoln didn't said anything. He just lowered his head. "SO?"
"Jordan... " Spoke Lincoln. "My- I mean, his death... Was very hard for them to handle. They were heart broken. Our house was so silent... I never saw that house so gloomy... It's... Very difficult for them... For me..." Said Lincoln, still with his head low.
Jordan stood quiet, whimpering a little. "I..." Said Jordan, sniffing herself calm. "I'm sorry Lynn... I expected that this was a hard thing for you all."
"Jordan..."
"You're not the person to answer that. Sorry." Spoke Jordan, cutting Lincoln. "Lincoln is the one who needs to set things clear! Sorry Lynn... But when I see Lincoln again. I'll make him explain. A person doesn't fakes his death and lie for all his friends, just to come back a month later!" Spoke Jordan, getting in her feet and walking of the cafeteria, being followed by the looks of nearly all the kids present.
But Jordan didn't minded, she had already so much in her mind to even bother on what other will think about her. She was thinking on what Lynn said. Lynn didn't confirmed that Lincoln had faked his death... But also, didn't denied...
Them... Lynn spoke in third person when she was saying who the house was... Weird.
Jordan walked down the empty corridor as the bell rang again, signing the end of the break.
"Lynn!" Shouted Polly, snapping Lincoln out of his thoughts as he saw a volleyball flying in his direction. The boy tried to pass the ball further, but the ball bounced in Lincoln's arms and flew of the circle the team was made to practice.
"Sorry, I'll grab the ball." Said Lincoln as he walked up to the ball and picked it.
"Jeez Lynn, what got into you today? That one was super easy!" Said Margo He as Lincoln rejoined the circle.
"I'm sorry, I was distracted." Said Lincoln, drawing the ball. Polly caught, passing to Diane, who passed to Margo, Polly caught, passing to Diane, who passed to Margo, The girl passed back to Lincoln, who managed to pass the pass further, Polly caught it, passing back to Diane, but the girl failed in the pass and ended dropping the ball., it bounced of the circle, ending behind the bleacher.
"Lynn." Spoke Polly as Diane went pick the ball. "What Girl Jordan said, at the break was very intrusive, are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine... It's just a hard subject." Explained Lincoln.
"You can talk to us girl. If you want I mean, we're your friends." Spoke Margo, placing a hand in Lynn's shoulder. Lincoln sighed. He wasn't conformable in making a heart to heart talk with not only someone he don't know much, but in the body of someone else.
"Look, Polly..." Started Lincoln, before Margo shouted.
"Heads up!" Lincoln looked in her direction, and saw the ball flying in his direction. Margo had shot it for Lynn to catch it.
But Lincoln hadn't neither the reflex or the ability to catch it. As result, the ball hit Lynn straight in the face. Lincoln's head shot back, hitting the ground several feet away the spot he was hit.
"Lynn!" Shouted the girls who ran up to aid Lynn. Lincoln rubbed his sorrow face, sitting in the ground.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Lynn in the floor and the girls around her, aiding her. Lincoln lincoln looked down to his arms, and he almost shouted in joy as he saw his own arms, still wearing his pagamas.
He was wearing his pagamas in the middle os the school's sports court. Almost in instinct, he became invisible, feeling relieved that he was able to do this.
"Lynn, are you ok?" Asked Polly to Lynn, who start to regain counscience.
"Wha... Where I am...?" Lynn muttered with her head spinning.
"Did you seen that?" Asked Margo, confused, looking a few feet away, to the spot where Lincoln'spn had fallen.
"What?" Questioned Diane, looking at the direction where Margo was looking.
"Nothing... I just... Though I saw Lincoln..."
Hours later, after school, the Loud family was reunited in the dinning table, eating the delicious meal their patriarch had cooked, they were all laughing at the story Lincoln was telling.
He was telling what happened at school while he was in Lynn's body. The girl was the one laughing the most. Lincoln thought that she would be very mad at him for basically possessing her, but no, she was laugh at how he tried to impersonate her.
"Oh God, just thinking about you trying to play volleyball with the girls is enough to make me cry of laugh!" She said between laughs.
"Hehe..." Laughed Lincoln. He had left the incident with Girl Jordan of the story.
"Oh! I just remembered!" Spoke Lana, dropping her fork. "Daddy! Can you take me to the zoo this Saturday?" She asked. Lynn Sr. Giggled.
"Of course sweetheart, but why do want to go to the zoo?" He asked.
"This Saturday is the last day where they'll have the Nile crocodiles in exhibition! After that, they're going to be taken back to their home in Egypt!" Explained Lana.
"There are Nile Crocodiles in Royal Woods Zoo?" Asked Luna surprised.
"Police apprehended some mean men that where smuggling them to make some fine purses." Explained Lana. This took the girls by surprise.
"Wow." Spoke Luan. "Well, these smugglers won't admit they did. They'll de-line! Hahaha, get it?" The family groaned.
This was a simple one, Just a MOSTLY filler cap. I really enjoyed writing Lincoln, trying to pass as Lynn.
Next Chapter, Lana, Lynn Sr and Lincoln will go in a dangerous trip to the Zoo!
