BeChloe Week 2022 - Day 2
Prompt: "Chloe would never allow that."
Beca let out a yelp when Stacie grabbed by her arm and started pulling her away from the Auditorium.
"What are you doing?" Beca asked
"Just be quiet and come with us," Fat Amy said, grabbing Beca's other arm.
They did not stop until they were outside Beca's dorm.
"You have to help us," Stacie said, dropping Beca's arm. "You're the only one who can stand up to Aubrey. She's killing us with this new rehearsal schedule. I'm starting to fall behind in my homework, and so are the other girls."
"It won't be pretty," Fat Amy said. "But, you're kind of our only hope. If you don't do it, no one will."
Beca sighed. "What exactly do you want me to do?"
"Stop the rehearsal when we hit the two-hour mark," Stacie said.
"Aubrey will literally kill me if I do that," Beca said.
"Chloe would never allow that," Stacie responded.
"That's true," Fat Amy said. "Chloe will do anything to protect you."
Beca grinned and looked down at the ground.
"We need to have time to do homework," Stacie said. "And with finals coming up, we need time to study as well. Just get those points across to her, and we'll stage a walkout if she doesn't lighten up. Oh, and you have to confront her about it at tomorrow's rehearsal. Time is not on our side."
"I'll do it," Beca sighed. "But, I'll have to talk to Chloe first and see what she says. If she's okay with it, I'll take one for the team and confront Aubrey."
"Thank you!" Stacie said, grabbing Beca in a hug.
"You're the best best friend ever!" Fat Amy said, wrapping Beca and Stacie in a hug.

Later that evening, Beca was contemplating how to approach Chloe about confronting Aubrey. She was hungry, and an idea came to her on how to kill two birds with one stone. She grabbed her phone and placed a call to Chloe.
"Hey, Beca," Chloe said, answering the phone. "What's up?"
"I was just wondering if you'd like to grab a bite to eat with me?"
Chloe squealed and said, "Are you asking me out on a date?"
Beca frowned. "Why would she ask that?" she thought. Deciding it was best not to ask, she instead said, "Do you want it to be a date?"
"I wouldn't be opposed to it being a date," Chloe said.
"Huh," Beca said. "Okay, then."
"Okay, then?" Chloe asked. "I don't know how to respond to that."
"Okay, then," Beca said, blushing slightly. "I'm asking if you want to go on a date with me."
"I'd love to," Chloe said, causing Beca to smile.
"Great," Beca said. "Do you want me to pick you up or meet you somewhere?"
"Let's meet at that diner that has breakfast all day," Chloe suggested. "I'd kill for some of their pancakes."
"Okay," Beca said, chuckling into the phone. "I'll meet you there in twenty minutes?"
"I can do that," Chloe said. "See you in twenty."
"See you in twenty," Beca responded and ended the call.
Beca grabbed her wallet and her dorm room key and left her room.

Beca arrived at the diner before Chloe and got them a table. She sat nervously, bouncing her leg up and down as she waited for Chloe to arrive. It was only a few minutes later that Chloe showed up.
"Hey," Chloe said as she sat across from Beca. "I hope you haven't been waiting long."
"No, I just got here," Beca said. "Are you really going to have pancakes?"
"Yes," Chloe said, smiling at Beca. "I love breakfast for dinner. What are you getting?"
"A burger and fries," Beca responded. "And a chocolate shake."
"Oh, that sounds good," Chloe said. "I think I'll get a chocolate shake as well."
"You're going to have a milkshake with your pancakes?"
"Yes, I am."
Beca opened her mouth to say something but snapped it shut when the waitress appeared at their table. She took their orders and walked away.
"I'm so glad we're doing this," Chloe said after the waitress was gone. "I've been hinting for a while that I'd like us to be something more, but you never seemed to catch on."
"Can I be honest with you?" Beca asked.
"Always," Chloe said.
"I've been thinking about it for a while, too, but didn't think you'd be interested in me like that."
"How could I not be interested in you? You're talented, sweet, adorable, and sexy, all rolled up into one tiny little person."
"I'm not that tiny," Beca huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.
Chloe reached across the table and took Beca's hand in hers.
"I'm sorry," Chloe said sincerely. "I didn't mean it as a criticism. The fact that you're tiny and still a badass just adds to your charm."
Beca smiled and blushed. "Before we get too involved in our date," Beca said. "There is something I need to talk to you about."
"Oh, okay," Chloe said, smirking as she leaned back. "I have a three-date rule, so nothing will happen before that."
"What?" Beca said. "I'm not. That's not what I needed to talk to you about."
Beca then smirked, adding, "But I'll store that little tidbit away for future reference."
Chloe laughed and asked, "What did you need to talk to me about?"
"Aubrey."
Chloe's smile dropped. "What about Aubrey?"
"Somebody needs to say something to her about extended rehearsals after we've already done the scheduled two hours," Beca said. "Some of the girls are getting behind in their homework, and finals are coming up, and we're all exhausted by the time rehearsal is over. We all need more time to study."
"When you say somebody, you mean me, right?"
"No," Beca said. "I'll do it and take the heat. I just wanted you to know so you weren't blindsided when it happens."
Chloe took in a deep breath through her nose and leaned back in her seat.
"You know Aubrey isn't going to take it well."
"I know," Beca said, running a hand through her hair. "But, she's used to me being difficult, so I'm the best one for the job. At least according to Amy and Stacie, I am."
"I'll talk to her tonight," Chloe said. "She might receive it better coming from me."
"No," Beca said. "I'll do it. I was serious about taking the heat for it. You don't want her yelling at you any more than I do."
"That's sweet of you," Chloe said.
Chloe then looked at Beca, and Beca looked back at Chloe.
"Okay," Chloe said, nodding her head. "I'm in only because I'm in the same boat with homework and needing to study for finals."
"Thank you," Beca said.
"And, I'll step in if things get too heated between you and Brey," Chloe said.
"Thank you for that, too," Beca said.
~ BeChloe Week 2022 - Day 2 ~
The next day at rehearsal, Beca was anxious and second-guessing herself about confronting Aubrey. Her anxiety intensified when Aubrey yelled to get their attention.
"Everybody, stop! Just stop!" Aubrey cried out, rubbing her temples. All the girls stopped in their tracks. "How are you so bad at this? You all should know these steps by now. Jessica, you and Ashley keep missing the second turn. Amy, at no point in the routine are we doing the cha-cha. Stacie, keep your hands off yourself; we are not pole dancing. Now, everyone, get back into your starting positions. We will stay here until we've done the entire routine perfectly at least three times. "
The girls all groaned as they moved into place. Beca checked the clock and saw Stacie and Amy checking the time as well. She quickly looked away but not before they both turned toward her. She sighed since she knew they were waiting for her to say something.
"Um, Aubrey," Beca said, facing Aubrey with her hands on her hips. "It's two o'clock, and rehearsal is supposed to end at two. I really need to get some homework done and study, so I'm going to have to leave now."
Beca held her breath, waiting for Aubrey to explode. The silence from the rest of the girls was deafening.
"What did you just say?" Aubrey asked quietly; this scared Beca more than if Aubrey had screamed at her.
"Um, I need, um, to go," Beca said, throwing a thumb over her shoulder, pointing toward the door. "Grades. Homework. Finals. And all that school-type stuff."
Beca knew she wasn't making any sense. She let out a breath and turned to look at the other girls; they all were looking everywhere but at her.
Chloe waited to see what, if anything, Aubrey was going to do. Seeing Beca floundering, she decided to step in.
"Beca's right, Brey," Chloe said. "I have a Russian Lit paper due tomorrow and haven't had time to even to write more than two paragraphs with all the extra time you've had us in practice."
"How dare you, Chloe!" Aubrey yelled, turning on her best friend. "We have Regionals in two weeks, and we are not performance ready! Why are you undermining my authority? Extending practice gives us more time to perfect the routine. You should know better than anyone that we need to do this. Now get into position, and I don't want to hear another word about it from you or anyone else!"
"Now, hold on a minute, Aubrey," Beca said, stepping between Aubrey and Chloe. "Chloe doesn't deserve that. I was the one who stopped rehearsal, not Chloe."
"Get into position or get out!" Aubrey yelled at Beca.
"No!" Beca yelled back. "If I go, we all go. Because if we don't, most of us will fail our classes which means none of us will be eligible to compete, and the Bellas will be over! Is that what you want?"
Aubrey's jaw dropped, and her eyes widened. Beca flinched and stepped back.
"Brey," Chloe said, reaching out to her best friend.
"No, Chloe," Aubrey said, waving Chloe off. "She's right. I'm sorry, girls. I was so focused on winning that I never stopped to think about the toll it was taking on all of you. Go. Study and take tomorrow off. I'll see you all on Thursday."
Aubrey grabbed her stuff and started walking toward the auditorium door. She stopped and looked at Chloe.
"You coming, Chloe?"
"Um, I'll stay and straighten up after everyone leaves," Chloe said. "I won't be long."
"Okay," Aubrey said, nodding. "I'll see you later."
Aubrey left, and the girls all rushed Beca, grabbing her into an unwanted hug.
"That was so cool," Stacie said. "Thank you!"
"You're our hero," Fat Amy said.
"Get off me," Beca said, pushing them away. "Don't you guys have some homework or studying you should get to?"
"Beca's right," Chloe said. "You'd better go while you can. Aubrey can still come back and change her mind."
Everyone grabbed their stuff and practically fell over each other to get out the door. Chloe walked over to Beca.
"That was so hot," Chloe said, pulling Beca to her. "No one's ever stood up for me like that before."
"Well, Aubrey was out of line," Beca said. "I was the one who started it, not you."
"Still kind of hot," Chloe said.
Beca smiled and leaned up to kiss Chloe. She pulled back and stared into Chloe's eyes.
"So, I'm thinking we should have our second date soon," Beca said.
"I totes agree," Chloe responded. "I'm available anytime you are."
"How about tomorrow?" Beca said, leaning in to kiss Chloe. "We have the day off from rehearsal. You can come to my room, and we can study or watch a movie. And maybe order some food or something."
"I like that plan," Chloe said. "I have a class but can be there around two. Is that okay?"
"Perfect," Beca said.
Chloe smiled and started putting everything in its place; Beca started collecting the trash left behind by the girls. With the two working together, it took very little time to get the job done.
Once they were done, Chloe smiled and pulled Beca to her.
"Thank you for helping," Chloe said, kissing Beca.
Chloe broke the kiss and took Beca's hand in hers.
"Walk me to my place?"
"I'd love to," Beca said, letting Chloe lead her out of the auditorium.
