BeChloe Week - Day 3
Prompt: Kiss Cam
Beca and Chloe go to a baseball game with Chloe's dad. Everything is going well until the 'kiss cam' stops on them.
After dancing around their feelings for two years, Beca finally asked Chloe out. They've been dating ever since. Chloe had asked Beca to lunch at their favorite campus diner, and Chloe was running a few minutes late.
Chloe couldn't help but smile when she spotted her girlfriend (God, she loved being able to call Beca that) sitting in their favorite booth. She hurried over to the booth, saying, "Hey, sorry, I'm late."
"It's okay," Beca said, accepting Chloe's kiss before Chloe sat across from her. "I already ordered your usual for you."
"Thanks, babe," Chloe said, smiling at Beca.
"You said you wanted to talk to me about something," Beca said. "What is it?"
"Well, we've been dating seriously for six months today, and I want you to meet my parents," Chloe said. "So, I thought you could go home with me for Spring Break."
"I would love to go home with you for Spring Break so that I can meet your parents," Beca said.
"Good," Chloe said, smiling at Beca. "I already told them you were coming. Oh, and my dad has season tickets to the Tampa Bay Rays, and he invited us to go to a game with him while we're there."
"Tampa Bay Rays? Is that the football team?"
"No, silly," Chloe said, giggling. "It's our baseball team. You'll have a great time. I promise."
"Why do I have to go?" Beca whined. "I hate baseball. Hell, I hate all sports."
"I know," Chloe said. "But my dad inviting us to go is a big deal. It's like a rite of passage with him and a chance for the two of you to get to know each other better. He's done it with every guy I took home."
"But, I'm not a guy," Beca said.
"I'm well aware of that," Chloe said, looking down at Beca's chest; Beca blushed. "It's kind of the main reason why I love you so much."
"Yeah, yeah," Beca mumbled, crossing her arms over her chest. "I love you, too." She sighed and looked at Chloe. "If going to a baseball game with your dad will make you happy, I'll go."
Chloe squealed and leaned across the table to pull Beca into a kiss.
"Thank you," Chloe said.

The night before they were to leave for Tampa, Beca was in her room researching the Tampa Bay Rays. She wanted to make a good impression on Chloe's father and have something to talk about with him at the game.
Beca closed the lid of her laptop when she heard someone knock lightly on her door.
"Come on up," Beca called out, looking over to see who it was.
"Hey," Chloe said as she came into view. "I was just checking to see if you needed any help packing."
"Um, no thanks," Beca said. "I'm already packed. I only have to pack my toiletries in the morning."
"Okay," Chloe said. "I'm just so excited about the trip and you finally meeting my parents as my girlfriend."
"I'm excited, too," Beca said, staring at Chloe with a furrowed brow. "Want to watch a movie or something to help you relax?"
"I am relaxed," Chloe said.
"Babe," Beca said, taking Chloe's hand and pulling her toward the bed. "I know you, and you are always tense the night before you're supposed to go home. Add in the stress of introducing your girlfriend to your parents, and you will be up most of the night."
Chloe let go of Beca's hand and sat on the edge of Beca's bed.
"You're right; I am a little tense," Chloe said, kissing Beca's cheek. "A movie might be just what I need. Thank you for looking out for me."
"You're welcome," Beca said, opening her laptop and quickly clicking on the Netflix icon. "What do you want to watch?"
"A comedy?" Chloe suggested. "No, wait! Something boring, so if I fall asleep, I won't be upset that I missed any of it."

The next morning, Beca woke to her alarm.
"Make it stop," Chloe moaned next to her.
Beca turned off the alarm and rolled over to look at Chloe.
"Come on, sunshine," Beca murmured, kissing Chloe on the tip of her nose. "It's time to get up."
"Bite me," Chloe said, rolling away from Beca.
"You're the one who wanted to leave at the ass-crack of dawn," Beca said, chuckling as she got off the bed. "So, let's get this show on the road."
Chloe sat up and pushed her hair back. "Would you mind driving first? I'm really tired and not ready for this."
"Of course," Beca said, kissing the top of Chloe's head. "Now go get dressed, and I'll meet you downstairs in half an hour."
Chloe stood and shuffled toward the stairs.
Twenty minutes later, Beca was making her way downstairs with her suitcase just as Chloe came out of her room.
"I'll take that for you," Beca said, reaching for Chloe's suitcase.
"Thank you," Chloe said, yawning.
The drive was fairly uneventful, and Chloe pulled into the Beales' driveway just before three that afternoon. As they were getting out of the car, Chloe's parents came rushing out of the house and over to the car.
"Chloe!" Mrs. Beale squealed as she grabbed Chloe in a hug.
"Hi, mom," Chloe said, smiling at the older woman.
Chloe pulled away from her mom and turned toward the man, pulling him into a hug.
"Hi, daddy," Chloe said.
"Hi, baby girl," Mr. Beale said, kissing Chloe's temple. "We sure have missed you."
"I've missed you guys, too," Chloe said, pulling out of the hug.
Beca stood awkwardly to the side. Chloe looked at her and smiled.
"Mom, dad," Chloe said. "I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Beca Mitchell."

One week later, Beca and Chloe arrived back at the Bellas House. Chloe jumped out of the car and went storming into the house, leaving Beca on her own outside. Beca sighed and grabbed their suitcases from the backseat. She slowly went into the house and didn't see Chloe anywhere.
"Hey, Beca," Jessica said, coming from the kitchen. "Do you need a hand?"
"Um, would you mind taking this up to Chloe's room for me?" Beca said, holding out Chloe's suitcase toward Jessica. "She's not speaking to me at the moment."
"I figured something happened with the way she stomped up the stairs as soon as she came in," Jessica said. "I'll take this up and then come back down so you can fill me in on what's happening with BeChloe."
Beca scoffed at the ship name the girls had been calling them since she and Chloe got together.
"Fine," Beca said. "I'll wait in the kitchen for you."
"Be right back," Jessica said and made her way upstairs.
Jessica knocked lightly on Chloe's door.
"Go away," Chloe's muffled voice called from inside.
"It's me, Chloe," Jessica said. "I have your suitcase. Beca asked me to bring it up to you."
"Oh," Chloe said and got up to answer the door. "Thanks."
"No problem," Jessica said. "Care to tell me why Beca asked me to bring it up?"
"Ugh, I'm so mad at her," Chloe said. "I can barely stand being around her, let alone talk to her."
"I'm sure whatever it is, Beca is sorry and has a good reason for it," Jessica said. "Maybe you should talk to her about it. You'd both be happier if you did."
"I, um, I can't yet," Chloe said. "It's too fresh and hurts too much."
"Okay," Jessica said. "I'm here if you want to talk about it."
"Thanks, Jessica," Chloe said, hugging her. "I appreciate it."
"I'll see you later," Jessica said and left Chloe's room.
"Now, let's see what Beca has to say," Jessica murmured as she made her way downstairs.
"Hey," Beca said. "You were gone awhile. Did Chloe tell you what happened?"
"She didn't want to talk about it," Jessica said. "But, I think she'll want to talk to you about it later. Do you want to talk about it? I'm a good listener."
Beca nodded and motioned for Jessica to sit; Jessica did and looked at Beca. "Start talking."
"Okay, so we got to Tampa, and everything was going great," Beca said. "Mr. and Mrs. Beale were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the moment we met."
"That's nice," Jessica said. "I know you were anxious about how they'd be around you."
"Yeah," Beca said, sighing. "Anyway, Mr. Beale had invited Chloe and me to attend a baseball game with him. I hate baseball, but I did some research on the team before we left so I would be able to hold my own while talking to him about the team. He seemed impressed when I started spitting off stats on some of the players. So did Chloe."
"Okay," Jessica said. "I'm not hearing anything bad yet."
"Oh, I'm getting there," Beca said. "We get to the game, and I'm sitting between Chloe and Mr. Beale. Before I continue, I need to tell you that between innings, they had something called the "kiss cam," where a camera would pan around the crowd and randomly stop on two people. The people could be seen on the jumbotron thingie, and the crowd would start chanting, kiss, kiss, kiss until they kissed."
"I'm familiar with the kiss cam," Jessica said.
"Okay. Anyway, between the fifth and sixth innings, we went to the concessions stands to get hot dogs and beers for Chloe and her dad. We had our stuff, and Chloe was putting mustard on their hot dogs when I saw two guys kissing. There was a group of guys who started making homophobic comments about them. I recognized them as the guys who were sitting about two rows behind us. Chloe didn't see the guys or hear what they had said."
"Sadly, Florida is one of those states that are very conservative, to the point of being obnoxious about their disdain for people that don't fit in with their 'Christian' beliefs."
"Exactly," Beca said.
"Is that it?" Jessica asked. "A group of anonymous guys talking bad about two men kissing is the reason Chloe isn't speaking to you? That doesn't sound like something Chloe would do."
"She wouldn't do something like that," Beca exclaimed. "There's more to the story."
"Sorry for interrupting," Jessica said. "Please continue."
"Thanks," Beca said. "So, the sixth inning ends, and we get midway into the seventh inning, and it's time for what they call the seventh inning stretch. The kiss cam starts going around again, and we were laughing at how some of the couples reacted. Then I saw me, Chloe, and her dad on the jumbotron. Everyone started yelling kiss, kiss! When Chloe leaned over to kiss me, I panicked and jumped up and kissed her dad instead."
Jessica's eyes widened, and it took everything she had not to laugh out loud.
"You panicked and kissed Chloe's dad?" Jessica asked. "What made you panic?"
"It was because of those guys," Beca said, looking down at her hands. "The ones who were heckling that gay couple earlier. They were right behind us, and I'm pretty sure they were wondering if Chloe and I were a couple. They would glare at us whenever Chloe would put her head on my shoulder or lean in close to whisper something in my ear. I didn't want them to say something nasty or derogatory to her, so I kissed her dad and not her. She got mad and wouldn't let me explain why I did it. All I was doing was trying to protect her."
"That's why you wouldn't kiss me?" Chloe asked from the doorway.
"Um, yeah," Beca said. "That's why I wouldn't kiss you. I'm sorry, Chloe, I really was just trying to protect you."
Chloe strode over to Beca and wrapped her in a hug. "I'm the one who's sorry," she said. "My feelings were hurt, but I should have let you explain."
"It's okay," Beca said, wrapping her arms around Chloe's waist. "Does this mean you're talking to me again?"
Chloe leaned down and kissed Beca. "Yes, it does."
"So, how did Mr. Beale react to you kissing him?" Jessica asked.
"He laughed it off," Chloe said, turning in Beca's arms to lean back against her. "So, I got mad at him, too. Only I was still speaking to him when we left. I'm sorry again about how I acted, Beca.
"I get it," Beca said, kissing Chloe's neck. "Just next time I do something that hurts you, talk to me, please. You not talking to me for the past couple of days has been killing me. I love you, Chloe, and I love the sound of your voice. Don't ever take that away from me again."
"I'm sorry, Beca," Chloe said, wiping a tear from her eye as she turned to face Beca. "I love you, too. And I promise I will never stop speaking to you ever again."
"Good," Beca said as she captured Chloe's lips in a tender kiss.
Chloe put her hand behind Beca's neck and deepened the kiss. Beca pulled back from the kiss when breathing became an issue.
"Thanks for listening, Jess," Beca said, looking over to where Jessica had been standing, but she was no longer there. "Where'd she go?"
"I guess she took that old saying 'if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen,' to heart," Chloe said, laughing at her own joke.
"You're such a dork," Beca said, chuckling as well.
"Yet, you love me anyway," Chloe said, smirking.
"That I do," Beca said, pulling Chloe into another kiss.
