Hey guys, this is my first fic so please be patient. I've had this idea for the past few days and I wanted to do something about it instead of just letting it rot inside my head. There are going to be a/many hetero and homo pairings so please be warned and don't continue if you're a hetero only fan.

Since this fic contains an OC, there will be some changes to the story and if you want, this could be A.U. so don't be surprised if this doesn't follow canon at times. It might also completely diverge from canon at some point and I'm dreading that day. But you're always welcome to share canon facts as it might be a useful addition to the story.

I'd really love to hear your views and I'd love any constructive criticism. This chapter is unbeta'ed (I'm new to ff . net so I don't know how to recruit one), so, if there are any errors, I apologise in advance. Well, that's it for now and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Pairing: So far, I've decided on Bakugo X OC and Todoroki X Izuku. These won't be changing though these two are the final pairings (they might/might not be with other people in between as I haven't completely written this story down).

Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero Academia and any of its characters, these belong solely to Kohei Horikoshi.

At a children's park, a four-year-old green-haired and freckled boy timidly stood in front of a crying brunette around his age. He had wanted to protect the brunette from the local bullies, who were his age, even though he knew he couldn't do much. The wannabe hero, Midoriya Izuku, was close to crying and knew that he would probably join the brunette in a few minutes. He wondered if distracting the bullies until help arrived would be a good idea but decided to test his luck anyways.

"That's mean you guys. Can't you see he's crying? If you proceed any further, I'll never forgive you!", Izuku spoke as bravely as he could. He had begun trembling halfway through his little speech and the bullies activating their quirks only increased it. The bullies scoffed at him, "Even though you're quirkless, you're pretending to be a hero, Deku?". As the bullies advanced toward him, he felt his legs give away and gave out a loud screech.

At the opposite corner of the same park, a green-haired and freckled girl was hugging the arm of a four-year-old blonde boy. The girl, Midoriya Emiko, had a huge smile on her face and was humming a soft tune with her head on the boy's shoulder. The boy, Katsuki Bakugo, was miserably failing at not smiling and was fiddling with her fingers with his free arm. Suddenly, the girl stopped humming and freed her arms, to Katsuki's hidden dismay. She had a serious look on her face which made Katsuki feel extremely nervous because he knew whatever she was going to say was extremely important. He only hoped she wouldn't say something stupid like breaking off their friendship because he absolutely wouldn't agree to it.

"Kacchan", she spoke with great uncertainty and he felt his heart rapidly beating at her tone because Emiko never spoke unless she was sure about something. "What is it, Emi-chan?", he asked and internally winced at how pathetic he sounded. "I've been thinking about us. A lot, actually", she looked at their feet and began twiddling with her fingers, a gesture she made when she was unsure about something. "What about us, Emi-chan? I think we're great!", he defended. Good. He sounded manlier now. It was common knowledge that girls liked manly men who could protect them and treat them like a princess. Though Emi-chan might be different because she had such a wimpy little brother. Oh no! What if he had ruined it by trying to act manlier than he usually was. Emi-chan didn't like to be compared to a princess. She'd slapped him when he'd called her 'hime-chan' because she'd hated the nickname. Katsuki felt like crying now.

"I know we're great", she slowly looked into his eyes and held his face with her tiny hands. Katsuki instantly felt relieved and was now filled with curiosity. "I really, really like you Kacchan. Like a lot, almost as much as mommy, papa and 'Zuku", she blushed and Katsuki felt his heart swell painfully at the words. Those were the sweetest words he'd ever heard and he knew he was never going to forget this moment, ever. "Me too! I love you a lot too!", he exclaimed and turned tomato red because he'd never expressed his love before. "That's awesome! Since we both love each other, let's make a promise to never love anybody else okay. We'll always love each other forever", she babbled happily. They looked at each other and nearly screamed, "I promise" at the same time.

Katsuki shyly looked at his, finally his, Emi-chan, and whispered, "You know how the adults seal their marriage with a kiss? We should complete our promise with a kiss too!" Emiko looked at Katsuki, dumbfounded and nodded with her head in a daze. As soon as she consented and before she could change her mind, Katsuki quickly leaned in leading to their noses bumping against the other's face. Emiko giggled, "not like this 'Suki-chan" and hugged his waist before slowly tilting her head and pressing her lips softly against his. Katsuki's head was reeling from the new nickname and from what was possibly the best kiss he had ever experienced (even though it was his first kiss, the ones from his parents didn't count, besides, they never kissed him on the lips).

The kiss was short because it was interrupted by a loud screech. Emiko immediately let go of Katsuki and ran in the direction of the sound. Katsuki knew who the owner of the voice was. It was his Emi-chan's wimpy little twin brother. Katsuki wondered who was bullying Deku this time. He didn't care what the bullies did. They were going to die anyway because they'd interrupted his first kiss. He liked Deku though he'd never admit it out loud. As they ran towards the commotion, he wondered if he'd had to stop calling Izuku Deku because if his Emi-chan ever found out, she would definitely kill him. His Emi-chan was protective of her twin and while just as quirkless as her brother, she could defeat her classmates who'd already manifested their quirks.

Emiko ran toward the bullies and screamed at them just before their punches landed. As soon as the bullies saw her (and Katsuki who had an insane grin on his face that promised to offer them the most painful death possible), they ran screaming for their lives. The crying brunette got up and profusely thanked Emiko for her help who shook her head. "The hero who saved you wasn't me but him", she spoke and pointed towards her twin who was still trembling. The brunette looked towards Izuku and gave him a bright smile whilst screaming, "Thank you so much!" repeatedly. Izuku stared at the boy for a full minute and shook his head vehemently.

After the brunette left, the three kids sat on a nearby bench with Emiko fussing over Izuku's non-existent injuries. Katsuki watched their antics and marvelled at how different they were. "Thank you, Emi", Izuku softly mumbled. "It's okay 'Zuku, you and Kacchan can save the world and be world-famous heroes whereas I'll always save the two of you and be your heroes", Emiko cheerily replied. "A hero doesn't need saving", Katsuki opposed. He couldn't have his Emi-chan thinking that they were in the same category. Emiko turned toward him with a sour face and pouted. "That's okay, Emi-nee-san, you will always be my hero", Izuku tried to cheer her up by addressing her with respect (he knew she secretly loved it even though she was only 25 minutes older than him). Emiko lovingly looked at Izuku and planted a kiss on his forehead. Katsuki jealously glared at Izuku. Izuku smiled upon seeing his sister's happy expression and gave a confused look to Katsuki when he saw the latter's face.

Izuku looked at the huge clock in the park and exclaimed, "It's getting late Emi, we'd better hurry home. See you later Kacchan, thanks for the help!" Katsuki's face fell upon learning that his Emi-chan was going to leave. Suddenly, his Emi-chan leaned in towards him and whispered, "Good-night, 'Suki-chan, love you." Katsuki stared, open-mouthed and with a red face, at the two figures that quickly disappeared.

Author's notes: Well, I just wanted to mention a few things. (1) A lot of you may not know the meaning of the name 'Emiko'. Emiko (this is from the internet) usually means a blessed, beautiful and smiling child. (2) Hime in Japanese means princess.

Okay, that's it for today guys. Wow, I never knew writing fan-fictions could be so exhausting, I'm so beat. I hope you liked the first chapter. Any thoughts about how you'd like the story to proceed are appreciated as I might take those into account when I'm experiencing writer's block, hahaha. Also, what did you guys think about Emiko? I'd love your comments on this one and I'll see you soon! I hope I can regularly update this fic but I haven't decided on a schedule yet.
