Season 1: Episode 17

Violet bit her lip, as she turned this way and that in front of the mirror, still feeling a little strange, not used to clothing like this. The plan for the memorial to Clem had been for this day, she would dress up along with the other four girls, in clothes just like those Clem had worn. So it was Violet was now wearing a blue and white plaid skirt with a black belt that just skimmed her mid-thigh, a white tab-collared blouse paired with blue socks up to just below her knees and black patent leather Mary-Janes. The last item being one article that all four of them would be wearing. Taking a deep breath and preparing herself she made her way to get breakfast, still uneasy from that message they all received from their mysterious benefactor.

"Violet, good heavens, what are you-?" Her mother began, eyes wide and mouth twitching in amusement.

Violet gave a smile. "It's in memory of Clem, the other girls are doing it too."

Amy grinned. "That's very sweet, you do look nice by the way."

Violet flushed a little but nodded and soon she was ready and heading for school. She had only just arrived when she came across the others, they all shared a smile and all took note of each other's outfit.

"Wow, looking good Vi." Brody remarked.

Violet just shook her head. "Not as good as you guys."

They all just smiled, knowing Violet's self-esteem issues.

Still Violet wasn't wrong, they all looked nice in their outfits in memory of Clementine. As Violet noted they all wore the same style shoes, although Brody's had a raised heel on them. The rest of her outfit consisted of a skirt of similar length with a black belt with several metal hole loops and a matching buckle, the skirt was red and black plaid with yellow thin stripes. She wore a pink blouse that showed a little of her stomach and some notable cleavage along with pink ruffled ankle socks. Becca was wearing a red and yellow plaid mid-thigh skirt with a similar white blouse to Violet and white socks up to just below her knees. Finally Sarah wore a grey skirt with pleats and at mid-thigh length, a white belt similar to Violet's and a blue blouse with matching below knee socks too. Standing together, dressed like this, they all were amazed at how close they actually felt to Clem at that moment.

"Wow, guys, this is...I think this was the right idea." Sarah said at last.

Becca nodded. "Yeah, well, I'm sure that no matter what happens today, we'll do this for her."

They all nodded and began to walk, well aware they were drawing attention, heads turning. Sarah and Violet couldn't help but feel self-conscious about it but Brody and Becca smiled, not minding it at all.

It was as they were walking Brody saw the others.

"Ah, hey guys." She called out and then grinned. 'Seems we've had a rather...interesting effect.'

Indeed the moment Gabe looked up and saw her outfit his jaw dropped and he went wide-eyed, blushing. Meanwhile John was ogling Sarah in amazement while Sarah giggled and stepped up to him, Brody doing the same with Gabe. Becca bit her lip, but just smiled at David who was also blushing and trying not to cause any issue, although he clearly was struggling not to stare. It was clear that things were getting even bigger between them, but it wasn't enough it seemed, they still need a push.

"Wow, Violet, you look...stunning." Minerva breathed in amazement.

Violet gave a smile, taking the compliments from Sophie and Kyle too who were doing the same to the other girls.

"Urgh, you've gotta be kidding." A voice cut in. "It wasn't enough for Hutchison to whore herself out, dressing like that, now you sluts too."

They all just rolled their eyes at Michelle's cheap and frankly pathetic attempt to rile them. Smiling and continuing to just talking amongst themselves, ignoring her, they walked away, leaving Michelle flustered and angry as those watching all laughed at her being snubbed.

Aasim was already regretting this.

"Dude, seriously?" Louis gasped.

He had finally been cajoled by Louis into telling him the truth about what was bothering him.

"You...and Ruby?" Louis gasped.

Aasim sighed. "Yes, I, I have feelings for her and, this...bet things, is seriously getting on my nerves."

Louis suddenly became uncharacteristically serious. "Dude, that is serious. You need to talk to Ruby."

"But-"

"Even if you can't tell her how you feel...You have to warn her about this bet." Louis burst out. "Can you imagine, if one of those sickos get their claws into her and then she finds out?"

Aasim grimaced, realising what he meant.

"You…" Aasim hesitated. "You're right. I'll go find her right now."

Louis nodded encouragingly and Aasim went to find Ruby, constantly telling himself in his head about how this was important. Yet at the same time his feelings kept coming up in his head too and he began to wonder if he should even say anything about that. That was when he came across a scene which made his blood run cold, Ruby was there, looking awkward, yet flushed. Standing by her, talking in what was no doubt a 'suave voice', was the most persuasive member of the football team, clearly trying his luck.

Aasim had enough, he knew he had to intervene.

"Back at it I see." Aasim remarked as he stepped up.

"Aasim?" Ruby gasped, blinking.

The football player glowered. "Oh, leave her be. Man, in case you haven't noticed I'm busy-"

"Yes, busy trying to win a bet, a sick bet to bed Ruby just because she doesn't match your 'standards' of 'beauty'." Aasim interrupted, shocked at himself.

"Wait, what?" Ruby gasped, her face going red.

The football player actually looked shocked, as such he was unable to hide the fact it was true on his face.

He turned and stammered. "Oh come, Ruby, it-"

He never got to finish as Ruby's fist collided with his face, making her stagger back.

"Get the fuck away before I really hurt you." She growled.

The football player didn't waste any time and scurried away as Aasim looked over at Ruby.

"I um, should I…?"

Ruby shook her head. "Um, actually, could we talk, in private?"

Aasim started but nodded and followed her as they walked away.

The shock of the announcement made all of them freeze.

"Violet Adlon, Brody Burress, Becca Jones and Sarah Chaikin, please report to Principal's office at once."

They all couldn't understand it, what was going on, why were they being called to the office. It couldn't be about their outfits as Clem never had trouble with hers. Reaching the door they shared a look before the secretary let them in. Once inside they were surprised to see that the Principal wasn't alone, for there in the office with them was Lily.

"Ah girls, good, come, sit down." The Principal said at once.

Doing so they remained confused, and anxious.

"Miss Rapp here said that she is aware of something that concerns her." He explained. "She wants to talk to you about it…"

Lily then cut in. "Do you mind if I talk to them alone?"

The Principal looked up, startled, but seeing her expression he nodded and excused himself before leaving the office. To her credit she didn't try to take his chair or anything like that. Instead she moved around to the front of the desk, in front of the four of them, leaning against the desk.

"I know what you did yesterday. The...searches you made." Lily revealed.

They all froze, realising exactly what she meant.

"I, we…" Sarah stammered.

Lily shook her head. "I don't know how you discovered those other...searches. But I'm taking control of this situation right now. For your own good, you are not to try searching for me or anything like that again, understand."

"But we-" Violet tried to interject.

"Clementine does not want you in trouble." Lily snapped. "This is for your own safety. You need to stop this."

They shared a worried look at this.

After a pause which left them shifting awkwardly, running their hands over their skirts, Lily's expression softened.

"As I said, I've taken control, I've dealt with this and there's nothing to worry about this time. Just know you that you are not in any trouble." Lily told them. "But...please, don't push it. Just leave it, I'm doing this to protect you. Understand."

After a moment, the four nodded, the other three shocked that even Violet was agreeing. In the end that was enough for them and Lily let them go back to class.

"Whoa, that was crazy." Becca gasped. "She, how did she-?"

"That's not the worst of it guys." Violet said quietly.

They looked at her.

"Didn't you hear her?" Violet queried. "Clementine does not want us in trouble. That's exactly how she said."

Becca shrugged. "So?"

Brody however gasped, eyes wide. "Oh my God, Vi, could that mean-?"

"What, what?" Sarah cried out.

Violet shook her head. "She referred to Clem in the present tense...when she's supposed to be dead."

Finally it struck them, through some unfortunate slip up, Lily had just hinted that Clementine may in fact actually be alive.
