I do feel guilty about forgetting my responsibilities to you guys so here's another chapter for y'all!
Please do remember that any sort of speech that's not written in the normal style such as this or this or this is taking place inside Fumiko's mindscape. Just a quick recap, this is generally used for the sexy woman's voice, this is used for Fumiko's voice and this is used for the kid's voice.
Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero Academia and any of its characters, these belong solely to Kohei Horikoshi.
It was finally the day of the entrance exam. Izuku had received his quirk from All Might and went to the U.A. Academy with his sister and Kacchan who'd tagged along. As they reached U.A. people instantly recognised the blonde due to the sludge villain incident. Kacchan tsked in annoyance. "What incident?", Fumiko questioned the boys though she already knew all about it. "Nothing important", the blonde grumbled. "If you say so", she replied. "Don't worry you two, you'll do fine! Nothing will go wrong if I'm here. I'm your hero, remember 'Zuku?", Fumiko tried to assuage his fears. Kacchan gave Izuku a jealous glare at the remark who internally complained about how the blonde had so bluntly refused her offer when they were kids.
In reality, the blonde was glaring at every person who looked at Fumiko for more than a second (which consisted of almost everyone, save a few). Izuku was so lost in his thoughts (he still couldn't believe how obsessed the other boy was with his sister) that he lost his footing. Before Fumiko could catch him, he stopped moving in the middle of his fall. "Are you all right?", a cute girl with short bob-cut brown hair questioned him. "Huh? Woah!", he moved his arms and legs in mid-air and slowly started freaking out when he realised that he couldn't touch the ground. The girl positioned him correctly and lightly clapped her hands, "It's my quirk. Sorry for using it without asking first. But it'd be bad luck if you fell, right? Aren't you nervous?"
Izuku felt his brain stop. A girl was speaking to him. To him! A girl that wasn't his sister! "Uhhhhhhhhh", he suddenly couldn't talk. "It's time to use the skills that make me so irresistible", Fumiko heard the woman speak and was immediately countered by the child, "Exactly, you always make it so irresistible for me to gag whenever you appear." Fumiko completely ignored them and wondered if she should interrupt the two. It wasn't like Izuku had promised himself to the dual-haired and-eyed guy so he could flirt with the others, right? Whatever was happening, Kacchan seemed to be getting impatient. She decided to do something for the poor blonde's sake (and also because she didn't want Izuku to get distracted).
Fumiko suddenly laughed at the scene and immediately sauntered toward the girl, "Hello cutie. Thank you for saving him. And yes, he's so nervous that he can't even muster a reply to express his gratitude." Everybody turned around to stare at Fumiko when she laughed (the woman was crooning inside her head which nearly freaked Fumiko and the kid out), and the cute girl stared at her transfixed with a huge blush adorning her face. "What're you guys looking at? Don't y'all got nothing better to do? Huh!?", Katsuki thundered whilst giving the brown-haired girl a murderous look (which the girl didn't even notice which only vexed him further).
"Th-thank you very much", Izuku softly and shyly mumbled. "Let's do our best. See ya!", the girl hastily replied whilst quickly disappearing, her blush still on her face. "Now, now, 'Zuku! What if you meet the cute guy from the other day, hmmm?", Fumiko questioned in a teasing tone. "I, uh, uh…..", Izuku stared at her. He knew he shouldn't have told her about the cute boy with white and red hair. "Ahahaha", she laughed so much that she had to lean on a glaring Katsuki who softly blushed at the gesture. He couldn't stay mad at anyone when his senses were filled with her delicious scent. Yup, he was becoming a total creep and no, he totally didn't regret it!
Inside the hall, as Present Mic explained how the students had to defeat certain robots to score points with any equipment they could bring with them, Fumiko sighed, "Wow, there's no way the quirkless can pass, huh. Now, I'll have to come up with a good strategy. What a pain. And we're all going to separate grounds. Sigh." Suddenly, A stern-looking boy with glasses asked the hero a question and hissed at Izuku to stop mumbling whilst admonishing Fumiko for her lazy attitude. Fumiko replied, "You know, you're not going to be very successful if you're the type to get distracted by a little rambling. How will you work with a hero or against a villain who's noisy and distracting, hmmm?", Fumiko sharply questioned the kid, her head lazily resting on hands.
The students sitting nearby snickered at the exchange. Present Mic interrupted the boy before an argument could escalate and answered his question. After the hero ended his speech, Fumiko announced, "I'll be borrowing some of the equipment that U.A. is oh so very kindly offering us for free. Do you want to join me?" When the other two shook their heads (she knew her brother was interested but was too nervous about wasting time), the three of them went their separate ways.
Fumiko had been assigned to Battle Centre A. She wasn't nervous for herself but for Izuku. The students around her all glanced at her and whispered amongst themselves. She inwardly sighed; her appearance was too eye-catching. But seeing Kacchan getting jealous of her admirers was worth it. This was something she had in common with that woman living in her head. He was so cute just like when they were kids. Suddenly Mic screamed, "Start". She immediately ran towards the now opened entrance of the battleground. The students who'd been staring at her realised what was happening and ran after her. Some of them had already begun taking out villains. She knew there was no point in staying near the entrance. From what she'd seen so far, the battleground was huge, and the robots weren't extremely quick. She picked up some sharp and strong debris and searched around for the highest building and quickly reached its roof to gain a view of the entire field.
"Heh. Much easier. Since they've given us robots, all I need to do is attack their weak spots. Since their arms are usually inside their bodies, I'll have to attack them when they've extended their arms. The gap where their arms usually remain will be empty. Otherwise, I'll have to aim for the other gaps that are much smaller. Throwing this debris with enough force inside that unprotected gap should hit something important and cause the robot to malfunction and self-destruct. Even if the debris doesn't hit something important because I didn't throw it with enough force or because all the important parts are protected… the robots should malfunction and self-destruct when they can't retract their arms because of the debris. This equipment should be able to help me with moving around quickly", she looked at the metal rope which had a claw on one end and a band that attached to her wrist on the other. Since none of the equipment was strong enough to help destroy the robots on their own, very few students had checked out the items U.A. was offering especially when they were short on time. Most of them who did bought water and first aid. For Fumiko, the entire place was a gold mine but she sadly only got the rope because she wanted to travel light.
The rope was special, it would extend when she screamed 'go' and retract for the command 'come' and was extremely strong. She was no spiderman, swinging around with debris (which wasn't exactly light) was no joke and she'd expected to miss her aim the first few times. She also had to capture some broken parts when she ran out of debris. But she'd been training for a long time (and she wasn't exactly normal either… she'd realised she was weird as soon as she observed the other humans). She got the hang of it on her third try when she'd finally scored three points. "Ah, now, we're talking", she chuckled.
"If only you could remember sooner…", the woman sighed and the kid also agreed, "Yeah, you need to remember you know." Fumiko who'd been feeling quite euphoric after destroying yet another robot suddenly scowled. She hated not remembering her past… but she especially hated it when the voices mentioned her amnesia since they had or maybe even were the key to her memories. It didn't matter, for the time being, she had to score the highest points in the entrance exam and enter the hero class with her brother. She didn't want to get separated from him this quickly.
The U.A. professors discussed the performance of all the students avidly. "Wow, these students look promising. And that girl that the HQ is interested in is amazing! I can see why they're interested in her, even without the villain's interference. She's already taken down so many robots without a quirk. Ahhh, finally, a beauty with brains. I don't know why the kids with the weak quirks never check out the things we're offering them. There's nothing wrong with using support equipment, especially when it's allowed. Though it appears that she has received some sort of training before, she's adapted to this too quickly. Oh look, she's even prioritising those who're in danger. Do you think she's figured out the part about the rescue points?", Midnight wondered. "I agree. If she's smart enough to figure out the weak points of those robots that most people wouldn't bother thinking about, she should've understood that rescuing her fellow participants is advantageous. After all, this is a test for the hero course. Rescuing others is always one of the top priorities", Cementoss commented. "Well, the main test starts right now", another professor interrupted and pressed a button which caused a great commotion in all the fields.
Fumiko's eyes widened as she took in the huge zero-point monster rampaging around. She'd scored a whole 44 points and knew she'd have some more points added in for rescuing the others. The mentors seriously wanted to test the students, huh? As the monster (she couldn't call it a simple robot, the others were cute in comparison to this!) destroyed everything in its path, Fumiko gritted her teeth. The others didn't try to stop it as the monster wasn't worth the effort and abandoned the others who were too tired to move. Nobody was going to die. Everybody knew that. Fumiko knew she'd score a whole lot of rescue points for this one, but she couldn't defeat it on her own very easily. She didn't have the right equipment (even if she picked up debris big enough to affect the monster and even if her rope could support something that heavy, there was no way she could create enough momentum to carry her along with that debris) and that monster was slow. She wanted to take down at least another three-pointer before the timer rang.
She suddenly saw a student who had the head of a bird staring at the monster whilst standing in a defensive position and had an insane grin as a plan formed inside her head. She'd seen him quite a few times. He used a second shadow whose strength was directly proportional to the amount of darkness around it and had taken down a lot of robots (not as much as her though, since she was quicker than him). "Hey, two-shadow guy. Want to team up to defeat that thing?", she yelled at him. She'd initially wanted to call him 'cool-gothic-guy' but decided against it.
The student looked at her and answered, "Why would I waste my time on defeating a zero-pointer? In fact, why are you helping me?", he questioned her. "Because it's gonna be fun. Let's team up! Don't you want to go all out? I'll carry you and drop you inside the robot where it'll be completely dark. You won't get hurt because your quirk can cover you from all sides and protect you. Once you enter the zone where it's completely dark, your quirk can end this with a bang! Besides you seem too tired to even move!", she answered and instructed him. His eyes widened at her words, though he didn't answer her directly. She grinned and immediately carried him with one arm (with a piece of debris in between her legs) and swung around with the other (and completely ignored his half-hearted protests). "Cover yourself, now. I'm gonna get super close to the monster so that you can go inside through one of the gaps and let your shadow have fun", she announced before he could protest any further. The entire idea was absurd, he shouldn't have agreed to her crazy whims! Not like he even agreed in the first place!
Fumiko had never used the previous robots as launching and landing pads but wasn't deterred by the thought. Her already too wide grin increased further (the boy she was carrying found it darkly and hauntingly beautiful as the voices inside Fumiko's head warned her about her expression) as the claw anchored onto one of the metal plates located on the robot's faux chest and screamed 'come'. The robot tried to catch them but was too slow and she hissed, "Now!" as they reached a large dark hole near the left side of its chest (that probably served as an airway). The other student nodded and snuck in. Since the monster was huge, she had an excellent view and saw a three-pointer simply running amok in an empty area that was close by. She caught the debris with one hand (a long rod) and immediately hissed 'go' whilst pointing her wrist in the direction of one of the buildings located near the three-pointer. As she took down the robot, she looked in the direction where the zero-pointer was and heard a loud boom that signalled the 'death' of the monster and the timer.
She ran towards the scene and saw the student lying on the ground. "Are you all right?", she worriedly questioned him since he looked completely beat. "That was… that was really… weird and thrilling. The darkness inside the robot was very comforting", he huffed exhaustedly. "I don't know if I'll see you anytime soon. But I do want to know your name. My name is Midoriya Fumiko, by the way." "My name is Tokoyami Fumikage", he offered before he fell unconscious. She sat beside him and waited until Recovery Girl arrived and completely healed Fumikage. "You don't want to heal your wounds?", the nurse questioned her. She shook her head, "I'm only exhausted, please heal the others." After giving her a sceptical look, the nurse nodded and left to attend to the others. She couldn't blame the lady; any ordinary person would have a few broken bones… but she was quite different. She exchanged a few more words with Fumikage before leaving to catch up with 'Zuku and Kacchan.
"I couldn't get a single point", Izuku sadly whispered as they walked home. Fumiko stopped in her tracks and stared at him. "Did you save anybody?", she asked him seriously. Izuku stared at her and nodded with a confused expression. "Then you're all right, 'Zuku", she kissed him on his forehead. "What about you Kacchan?", he questioned. The blonde had a smug expression on his face and smirked, "I took down so many of those fries that I lost count." Fumiko rolled her eyes, "Haha! Nothing is amazing about that. You've got a quirk that's combat-oriented. Of course, you'll do well, genius."
"Well, at least you have each other to depend upon. I'll have to think about something else for the time being", Izuku sadly mumbled, his head downcast. Fumiko lifted his chin with one hand and stroked a few curls on his forehead with the other, "That's why I also made sure that you applied for the other courses in U.A. Once you get into U.A., you can participate in the various contests they have and show them that you deserve to be in the hero course. See, 'Zuku. You'll do well, just trust me on that. We'll all go to U.A. together, right Kacchan?" Katsuki harrumphed but didn't deny the question. Izuku knew the blonde meant it. Even if he didn't get into U.A., he could train under All Might and live with his sister. He looked at the sky and nodded at her, holding her hand. As long as they were together, he could always pave a new path for himself.
Author's notes: How I hate writing action scenes (how some authors manage to beautifully pull it off is beyond me!). I hope Fumiko's performance didn't look stupid. This would've been a whole lot easier to express if I could draw properly. Well, anyways, please do leave your comments and I hope to see y'all soon.
