This is the first time I read this story u done a fantastic job so far im glad goku is with bulma because I think they were more made for each other then chi chi is plus she's more mature less strict and smarter than chi chi is at least bulma knows what's more important than just school work when it really matters the most and chi chi definitely very childish alot from what I noticed and sometimes more idiot then Goku is in my opinion I really hope Gohan actually keeps training and grow stronger after when cell is defeated instead of slacking off and actually not wear weird looking costume bulma made when he wanted to keep his identity a secret I feel he doesn't need a costume because it just doesn't suit him if it reaches the Buu saga please have erasa paired with Gohan instead of video because there very rarely ever paired up together and they make a cute pair in my opinion and because we already seen video paired with him so many times already so it be a breath of fresh air to see erasa end up with Gohan and will Gohan be able to also get super Saiyan 3 when the time comes and not just have his potential unlocked as his final form I think he also deserves super Saiyan 3 because I haven't came across one story where Gohan has once obtained super Saiyan 3 that follows the anime he definitely deserves that form and could have probably gotten that form if he actually kept training with Goku and piccolo and will Goku and Gohan be stronger than they were in the anime version keep up the good work and look forward to reading the next chapter have a great day)

Nice story so far.
Despite this not being the first GoBul fic I have read, I'm always up for new takes on favorite pairing for both Goku and Bulma, who should had hooked up in canon, but sadly did not, thanks to Chi-Chi.
My only criticism so far is that Goku's and Bulma's child should have been a girl (especifically Bulla, who is very underused outside of romantic fics, and would fit perfectly in this sceneario, if re-written properly), since most of GoBul stories tend to stick to Gohan being Goku's first child, and leading pretty much the same life that he did in canon (e.g. being sent to train with Piccolo, his reluctance to fight, no longer training after the Cell Games, being pushed over by girls in highschool, dating, and eventually marrying Videl), which in my opinion defeats the point of going AU.
That being said, I'm still interested in seeing where you will taking story, and how it will differ from the rest of the GoBul fics, so I will keep reading.
PD: I know it might be too early to be thinking, let alone talking about future pairings, but since Chi-Chi will be staying with Yamcha, and therefore will not be avalaible for being paired with Vegeta, would you consider pairing the prince of the saiyans with the Android 18, Lazuli? I make this suggestion because saiyans are said to be drawn to temperamental, strong willed women, and Android 18 fits that description almost perfectly. Moreover, Vegeta x Lazuli is still a quite underused pairing in fanfiction, so it would help to further separate your story from the rest of these kind of fanfics.
Oh, and if you're worried about Krillin ending up alone, since in a Vegeta x Lazuli scenario, Android 18 would be "taken away" from the midget monk, you could always pair him with his first girlfriend, Maron, who could be turned into a more suitable love interest for Krillin, through character development and/or rewriting. You could even make Krillin and Goku closer (NO, no like "that"), by taking advantage of Maron and Bulma striking physical resemblance, and make them relatives, distant or otherwise (i.e. cousins); that way Krillin and Goku could become literally family.)
You've both given me a lot to consider, but the Android and Buu Saga's are a long way away and I haven't made all my decisions on them as my main focus right now is the Saiyan Saga. That being said I've already made decisions on certain parings, which I plan to stick to. I won't say who to avoid spoilers, but I'll keep other suggestions in consideration for later in the story. I'm glad you're both enjoying the story and I hope I can continue to write a decent story in the future.
Despite the immense gravity of the planet Goku and Gohan managed to stand up, but not before falling over a few times.
"How can anyone even live on this planet?" asked Goku.
"I'm guessing they'd have to be super strong, because it's the only way you can even stand up," said Gohan.
"Something tells me we'd get much stronger just from jogging everyday," stated Goku.
"Yeah, maybe we should ask Mum or Grandpa if they could build something like this when we get home," stated Gohan.
"Good idea, but first we should see if anyone lives here," said Goku pointing at the house. "Let's just hope that's where King Kai lives."
"I don't see any other houses around here, so it has to be," stated Gohan.
They started walking towards the house, which proved to be very challenging under the planet's intense gravity. They were close to reaching the house when Goku noticed something. He could smell there was fruit growing on a nearby tree.
"Wait before we do anything, I need to have something to eat," said Goku heading over to the tree.
"Sounds good to me," said Gohan, who's stomach was growling.
After many difficult steps they made it to the tree. They tried climbing it, which would normally be an easy task for them, but the gravity made this impossible. Although Goku was stronger he found himself too heavy to climb and despite being lighter, Gohan wasn't strong enough. They both landed on the ground with a large thud and laid on their backs to catch their breath. While doing this, Goku looked to the horizon and eventually saw a small ape like creature staring at him.
"Are you King Kai?" asked Goku.
The monkey jumped a few times in the air while making some non-verbal sounds.
Gohan got up to see what Goku was looking at.
"Dad, that's a monkey," said Gohan.
"That doesn't mean he couldn't be King Kai. Don't forget Korrin's a cat," stated Goku.
"Yeah, but you told me he's at least a talking cat. Something tells me this thing can't even speak," said Gohan.
Despite Gohan's scepticism, Goku went ahead and asked this creature if he could train them. But not before asking, if they could have some fruit from the tree. To their great surprise the monkey was able to climb the tree with minimal effort.
"Wow the gravity doesn't bother you at all," stated Goku.
The monkey picked an apple from the tree. He was about to drop it to Goku, before Gohan intervened.
"Wait," stated Gohan.
"What is it Gohan, I'm starving," stated Goku.
"Dad be prepared for that fruit to fall really quickly and with great force. Considering how heavy this planet makes us feel, it stands to reason that small things like fruit will also be heavy!" explained Gohan.
"Alright," said Goku, before placing his hands in the ideal catching position. "Ok I'm ready."
The monkey dropped the apple. Just as Gohan predicted, the apple fell very quickly with a lot of force. Goku managed to grab it, but the force of the apple, caused Goku to fall to the ground with such force that his hands went underground.
"Whew, I got it," said Goku, pulling his hands out of the ground. He took a bite.
"Gohan these are great, you gotta try them," said Goku.
Hearing his stomach growl Gohan decided why not.
"Hey, could you get me one? But could you please bring it down instead of dropping it?" asked Gohan.
The monkey did as instructed. He picked an apple, then climbed down and handed it to Gohan.
"Thanks."
Goku and Gohan consumed their apples quickly.
"Thanks King Kai it was great," said Goku. "Now please, could you train us?"
The monkey didn't respond. He simply put his arms in the air and started doing some crazy dance. Both Gohan and Goku were a little confused. This made Gohan even more sceptical about whether this creature was King Kai. Goku on the other hand just felt it might be best to mimic what the monkey was doing.
"Well, I guess doing that in this planets gravity would make you very strong," said Goku who followed suit.
Gohan couldn't believe that his father was convinced by this.
"Dad, I really don't think this monkey is King Kai. How is this weird dance going to help us against the Saiyan's?" asked Gohan.
"Gohan, in my years of training I've learnt it's best to not question the master. Besides, I've done stranger training than this. Back when I was training with Master Roshi, my daily exercises included making milk deliveries, ploughing fields with my bare hands and doing construction work," stated Goku following the monkey.
"And that worked?" asked Gohan.
"Sure did," stated Goku.
"I'm starting to think Mum should be home schooling him as well," thought Gohan. He knew his farther wasn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen, but this was just ridiculous.
On the other hand, Goku was smarter about Martial Arts then Gohan. Gohan could also see what Goku meant when he said doing that strange dance under this gravity would make them stronger. Seeing no other option, Gohan joined his father and the monkey.
"This is a lot harder than it looks," said Goku.
"Yeah, it's definitely giving us a workout," said Gohan.
They did this for a short while before someone else came out to see what they were doing.
"Ok that's enough," said a voice. "Who are you?"
Goku and Gohan turned to see who had spoken. It was a small blue skinned man with pointy ears and sunglasses, wearing a black uniform.
"Um, are you? No, you couldn't be," said Goku pointing.
"I am who I am. Guess who. It rhymes with pie," joked the man. "I'm King Kai."
"I told you the monkey wasn't King Kai," said Gohan, who was now embarrassed by their antics.
"Then who's that?" asked Goku, looking at the monkey.
"That's my monkey Bubbles," answered King Kai.
"Oh, I see," said Goku. Wanting to avoid further embarrassment, he decided to tell King Kai why they were there. "Anyway King Kai, my name is Goku, and this is my son Gohan. We were wondering if you could train us?"
"Me train you?" asked King Kai, examining his visitors. "No way why should I? I don't train anyone who doesn't have a sense of humour. And the two of you look like you wouldn't know a good joke if it kicked you in the head."
This caused Goku to burst out in a fit of laughter.
"Jokes can't kick you in the head. That's crazy," laughed Goku clutching his stomach.
Gohan didn't find the joke funny like his father did but wanting to undertake King Kai's training he faked laughter.
"On second thought, maybe I could train the two of you," stated King Kai.
"Really, you mean it?" asked Gohan hopefully.
"Of course, but first you must pass a test," said King Kai.
"Sure anything," said Goku happily.
Gohan had a feeling he would find this requirement easy. His father was another story.
"Alright then," said King Kai. "Make me laugh and you're in. Surely you know a few good jokes, but remember, it has to be a funny one or it doesn't count."
"Oh, come on," said Gohan.
"We're not comedians," stated Goku.
Goku and Gohan had to stand and think for a few seconds. Both were having difficulty coming up with a decent joke. Gohan was starting to wish his mother had included stand-up comedy in his curriculum.
"Having trouble, are you?" asked King Kai. "Then give up and go home."
Goku decided to take a shot at it.
"Why did the chicken cross the road?" asked Goku.
"Um, to get to the other side?" asked a confused King Kai.
"No, because it was too far to fly," stated Goku.
To his surprise this did make King Kai laugh. Seeing that his father had succeeded Gohan also decided to give it a go.
"What's the difference between a jeweller and a jailer?" asked Gohan. "One sells watches, one watched cells."
This also made King Kai laugh with hysterics.
"We did it. You laughed," stated Goku.
"Now will you train us?" asked Gohan.
"Alright, you kids are in. When I'm through with you, you'll both be kings of comedy," stated King Kai.
Goku and Gohan looked at each other.
"Actually, we were hoping you would train us in combat," said Goku.
"What? Why didn't you say so?" asked an embarrassed King Kai, before taking a fighting stance. "Well, let's see what you got, I must warn you though I'm a lot tougher than I look."
Both Goku and Gohan struggled to make a proper fighting stance.
"What's wrong with you two?" asked King Kai.
"It's this planet," said Gohan.
"We feel like we weigh a tonne here," said Goku.
"Hmm, I'll bet you guys came from Earth, didn't you?" asked King Kai.
"Yeah, that's right," stated Goku.
"Then I'm surprised that either of you can even walk. This planet may be small, but the gravity here is ten times stronger than that of Earth," stated King Kai before approaching them.
"Ten times?" asked Gohan.
"Yup, so before we start the training, I want the two of you to do something for me," said King Kai.
"What's that?" asked Goku.
"Jump as high as you can," ordered King Kai.
They did so. Both jumped fairly high, but not nearly as high as they could jump back on earth. This got King Kai thinking that maybe, the two of them possessed a lot of fighting talent, because being able to jump as high as they did was no small feat.
"Good, now let's begin the training. But first I have to ask, how long do you plan on staying here?" asked King Kai.
"Well as long as possible I guess," said Goku.
"Sadly, we don't actually know how long that'll be," stated Gohan.
"What do you mean?" asked King Kai.
"There are some very powerful and evil people known as Saiyan warriors that are heading towards Earth to take it over," said Gohan.
"That's why we are here. We need to stop them," said Gohan.
"I understand, the Saiyan's are definitely a ruthless bunch," said King Kai. "Well then, I'll need to figure out the exact day they'll be landing on Planet Earth."
King Kai used his antennas to scan through the depths of space to find them. He quickly found their power signatures.
"There they are. There's two of them and they don't come any stronger than these two," said King Kai. "According to my calculations, at their current rate of speed, they should arrive on Earth in approximately eighty-eight days."
"Wait really, that's incredible," said Goku.
"Eighty-eight days? Then that must mean we were on Snake Way for nearly ten months," stated Gohan.
"It also means we don't have much time to prepare. We need to start training right away," demanded Goku.
"Calm down, we have plenty of time to get you into shape," said King Kai.
"Wait? Really?" asked Gohan.
"Sure, training under me on this planet for eighty-eight days, is the equivalent of training for several thousand years on earth," stated King Kai.
"Wow that's great," exclaimed Goku.
"You should know though that even if you train, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll win. The two Saiyan's that are on their way to Earth are even stronger than me," stated King Kai.
"Stronger?" asked Goku.
"That's not good," said a worried Gohan.
"Which means that the both of you are going to have to become stronger than me if you want to win," stated King Kai. "I hope you're up for it."
"We'll do whatever it takes to defend the Earth," said Gohan.
"Yeah, not to mention we'll get the chance to fight super strong opponents. I can't wait," said an excited Goku.
"Good. Well, I say we get started," said King Kai. "Hey, Bubbles come here."
The monkey approached while doing the same silly dance he had been doing before.
"The first thing I want you guys do is to try and catch Bubbles," stated King Kai.
"Is this our training?" asked a confused Gohan.
"That's right. You see Bubbles is used to the extreme gravity on this planet and until you can move around easily you won't be ready for more intense training!" explained King Kai.
Both Goku and Gohan found this a little bizarre but had a feeling they shouldn't question King Kai's methods.
"Well Dad, you're the one who said he use to deliver milk for training. Maybe this is legitimate training," said Gohan.
"I guess. Well let's go," said a still puzzled Goku.
"Go Bubbles," ordered King Kai.
Bubbles took off at a fairly slow pace, but even that was enough to put distance between him, Goku and Gohan who were still finding it difficult to adjust to the planet's gravity. They went after the monkey as quickly as they could but were unable to get any closer. Goku in particular was having trouble now that his weighted clothes were ten times heavier than they were on Earth. He was having so much trouble that Gohan had managed to overtake him.
"Dad take of the weighted clothes. You'll never catch him like that," suggested Gohan.
"Good idea," said Goku sitting down.
He removed his undershirt which fell and hit the ground with much more force than usual.
"Hmm, not a bad strategy. Shed extra wait so it's easier to move," stated King Kai.
"Come on you stupid boots," said Goku struggling with one of his shoes.
"Wait, I think you should leave that stuff on," stated King Kai.
"What? But I can barely move with this stuff on," stated Goku.
"Which'll only make your training more effective," stated King Kai. "I feel I should also tell you that the home planet of the Saiyan's had the exact same gravity as here, so it might be wise to take every step you can to increase your progress."
"Their gravity was the same as here?" asked Goku.
"Yup, it's one of the great secretes to their power. And that's not even the root of their power. All Saiyan's are born with the unique ability to fight anywhere!" explained King Kai.
"Well then we have nothing to worry about," said Goku.
"Yeah, Dad's a Saiyan as well, and I'm half Saiyan," stated Gohan.
Goku put his weighted clothes back on and he and Gohan continued to chase Bubbles. They spent the rest of the day trying to catch him, but neither were successful. The upside however was that they were finally starting to adapt to the planet's gravity. Gohan however, was feeling like he wasn't doing enough. Sure, he was undergoing the same training as his father, but Goku was having to push himself a lot more due to the weighted clothes. How could Gohan expect to reach the same level of strength if he didn't put in the same amount of effort.
After finishing training for the day, Gohan did the only thing he could think of. He went to King Kai.
"King Kai, I was wondering if I could ask a favour," stated Gohan.
"Sure Gohan what is it?" asked King Kai.
"Do you have any weighted clothes I could use so I can push myself to the same level as my dad?" asked Gohan.
King Kai thought about this.
"Well, I don't have any I could give you. But I could make you some," said King Kai.
"Really? How?" asked Gohan.
"With a little magic it's easy, especially for a Kai," said King Kai.
King Kai pointed his antennas at Gohan. The tips of the antennas glowed and suddenly, Gohan felt a lot heavier. Like his father, his undershirt, wrist bands and boots were now weighted.
"There. They're not as heavy as your fathers, but given your difference in strength, this should force you to push yourself to the same degree," said King Kai.
"Wow thanks," said an eager Gohan.
Having been granted a favour, Gohan wished there was something he could do in return. But what could Gohan offer a god? Gohan looked at the car outside and found his answer.
"Say King Kai, how long has it been since your car had a tune up?" asked Gohan.
"Um, well never. I can't exactly get a mechanic up here," stated King Kai.
"Let me have a look, I'm good with mechanics," said Gohan.
King Kai was unsure about this but became less hesitant when he learnt about Gohan's maternal family. Not only did Gohan give it a service, but he also found ways on which the car's mechanics could be improved.
"I'm guessing your Mum and her family aren't much into fighting," stated King Kai, as he observed Gohan.
"Nah, my dad's the only warrior of the family, but apparently that's what my mum loves about him," said Gohan working under the car. "Could you hand me that wrench?"
King Kai passed the tool.
"Thanks."
"You can't say your dad's the only warrior in the family. I know we've only been training for a day, but I can already tell you have a lot of potential," stated King Kai.
"I know, Dad's been training me since I could throw a punch and he tells me every day I've got a lot of potential," said Gohan.
"Do you enjoy fighting?" asked King Kai.
"Oh yeah heaps. Dad and I have a lot of fun training together but is it wrong that I also like working on machines with my Mum and Grandpa?" asked Gohan.
"No not at all. In fact, it's probably helping you work on a muscle your dad doesn't use a lot," joked King Kai.
"Yeah, my dad might be a bit simple, but his hearts in the right place and I think it's another thing my mum loves about him," stated Gohan. "Besides, he's very smart when it comes to fighting, which makes him the perfect teacher for it."
"Not only that, but your mum sounds like the perfect teacher for engineering, which will likely give you a great balance in both," stated King Kai.
"Well, I want to be both a great fighter and a great inventor and I might just have the perfect parents for both," said Gohan coming out from under the car and covered in oil. "Anyway, that should just about do it."
"So, what should I expect from your tinkering?" asked King Kai.
"Your engine should run a lot smoother now and the car should be able to go much faster," stated Gohan wiping the oil and grease from his hands and face with a rag. "Well as fast as you can hope for on such a small planet."
"Still, I appreciate it Gohan, so if you or your father ever need advice on something don't hesitate to ask. Just call me with your mind and I'll be able to hear you," stated King Kai.
"I'll keep that in mind," said Gohan.
"Now how about you go to bed, we got a long day of training tomorrow and I have a feeling your dad won't want you to start slacking," stated King Kai.
"Alright, good night King Kai," said Gohan.
"Good night Gohan," stated King Kai.
King Kai had a feeling these two were going to be the most interesting pupils he'd had in centuries.
Thanks for reading, please let me know what you think, all feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks again and I'll hopefully see you soon.
