Welcome back, before we start there is something Vegeta and Nappa would like to say. Men the floor is yours.

Nappa: Vegeta what does the scouter say about the view count?

Vegeta: IT'S OVER 9000 (crushes scouter).

Nappa: What 9000?

That's right, since I last updated this story its total views have exceeded nine thousand. I know that's not a big achievement, but I've always loved this reference and I've been looking for an excuse to use it.

Now to the chapter. I hope you enjoy it.

Without saying a word, the two Saiyan's levitated from the craters to inspect the surrounding planet. They weren't amused by the Earthlings staring at them.

"What should we do about these gawking fools? They're already starting to annoy me," said the big one.

"Maybe you should decide for once," said the small one.

"Well thanks Vegeta, this should be fun," said the big one.

The big one raised his arm and without hesitation, destroyed the entire city and its inhabitants. The blast was felt by much of the world. It only felt worse for Earth's warriors who could also sense the immense power produced from the Saiyan's.

"What are they doing?" asked Tien, who was training with Yamcha and Chaiotzu.

"It feels like they're going to blow up the Earth before we have a chance to stop them," stated Yamcha.

Meanwhile, Krillin and Piccolo were having similar thoughts as they felt the shockwave of the blast.

"Wow, unreal," said Krillin.

"They're even stronger than I imagined," said Piccolo.

Back with the Sayian's, they were now hovering above the city which had been reduced to a pile of rubble.

"I think I was trying too hard to impress Vegeta," laughed the big one admiring his handywork.

"There isn't anyone left to impress Nabba," grunted the one called Vegeta. "I should've known it was a bad idea to let you have any fun."

"Oh come on, a little destruction won't affect the sale price of this planet. What's the big deal?" asked Nappa.

"Remember, we came here to get a wish from the Dragon Balls," stated Vegeta.

"Yeah, because we want to wish for immortality, right?" asked Nappa.

"That's right, but we need all seven Dragon Balls to do that," stated Vegeta. "What if one of the balls happened to be in the city you just destroyed?"

"Oh, sorry guess I forgot about that," stated Nappa.

"Well, there's no use worrying about that now. What's been done can't be undone," stated Vegeta. "Now, we need to find the one who has the highest power level. He'll be the one who finished off Raditz."

They both activated their scouters. Despite their immense strength, they were surprised by the fighting strength some of the inhabitants possessed.

"More than half a dozen people on this planet have power levels over a thousand. How is that possible?" asked Nappa.

"They must've been preparing for us," stated Vegeta. "Not to worry, they're still no match for us. Let's start by finding the strongest one."

Nappa nodded and continued scanning. There were two that stood out. One was easily the strongest on the planet.

"I think I found it Vegeta," stated Nappa.

"Alright, let's go. And you never know this could be interesting," said Vegeta and they took off towards the strongest fighter Earth had.

Back at Kame House, news of the recent attack was already being broadcast. Those who had been unable to help in the upcoming battle had decided to band together to show each other emotional support. Bulma, Master Roshi, Oolong, Puar, Chi Chi, the Ox King, and twins Miruku and Naicha had all watched the recent news broadcast and were horrified by what had occurred. They all knew the Saiyan's had arrived, and they were horrified by the destruction they would bring. Bulma wanted to go and show them support. Master Roshi advised against this, as they would just get in the way. The others were on their own until Goku and Gohan got back.

"Goku, Gohan, please hurry," thought Bulma.

Meanwhile, Krillin and Piccolo were getting ready to fight the Saiyan's. Normally they would head towards their power signature, but they quickly realised this wasn't necessary.

"They're coming towards us," said Piccolo, throwing of his weighted cape and turban.

"I know, it's kind of hard to miss such immense power," said Krillin removing his own weighted clothes. "They probably used those weird head scanners to discover you're the Earth's strongest fighter."

"They've probably also figured out that I was the one who killed the Saiyan that arrived here one year ago," said Piccolo.

"You'd think they'd want to save the best for last," stated Krillin.

"Normally I would agree, but from what I've learnt about Saiyan's they like fighting strong opponents. So, it stands to reason that they'd prefer to start with the strongest fighter," stated Piccolo.

"I don't like this. I really wish Goku were here," stated Krillin.

"As much as I hate to admit it, so do I. He's the best chance we have of defeating them," stated Piccolo. "But you heard what he said, and we have to hold them off until he gets here."

"Well, I'm sure we'll manage somehow," stated Krillin.

"Like we have a choice," stated Piccolo. There was something else he wanted to say, just in case he didn't survive. "Listen, for what it's worth, I enjoyed training with you. You helped me prepare for this fight and I appreciate it."

"No worries Piccolo. I gotta admit, training with you has been a treat. I just wish we could continue training together after this is all over," stated Krillin.

"Maybe we can Krillin. Maybe we can," thought Piccolo.

"Alright, enough talk. They're here," stated Piccolo looking to the sky.

Krillin looked up and spotted the two Saiyan's hovering above them. They were even more horrifying in person.

"Looks like we have a greeting party," laughed Nappa.

"Hmph, so this is it," stated Vegeta examining Krillin and Piccolo. "I have to say I'm a little disappointed."

Nappa and Vegeta floated down, as Krillin and Piccolo looked on in horror.

"I'm only going to say this once," stated Piccolo. "Leave this planet."

Vegeta recognised the voice, as he'd heard it transmitted over Raditz's scouter.

"So, you're the one who defeated Raditz?" asked Vegeta. "I can tell by your voice."

"My voice?" asked Piccolo.

"Did Raditz forget to mention that our scouters also work as communicators," stated Vegeta.

Raditz had mentioned this fact to Piccolo and Goku. Piccolo had simply forgotten due to the focus he had placed on his training over the last year.

The one called Nappa took a good look at Piccolo. While it was obvious to everyone that Piccolo wasn't human, Nappa recognised what Piccolo was.

"The green one, he's from Namek isn't he?" asked Nappa.

"Indeed, no wonder Raditz had such a hard time defeating him and Kakarot," stated Vegeta.

"I'm from Namek?" asked a shocked Piccolo.

"Wait, you're from outer space as well?" asked Krillin. "Of course, it makes sense."

Piccolo had never heard that word before, but he knew it was true. He wasn't from Earth, he was from the planet Namek. Kami heard this as well while he was monitoring the fight from the lookout. For the first time in his entire life Kami finally knew the truth about his origins. It helped him finally understand why he had always had special powers and how when he created the Dragon Balls, he felt as if he had made it home, or rather a piece of his home had found its way to him. The blueprints for them had been in his mind and heart before he had been able to give them form. This caused Kami to speculate, that maybe there were other Dragon Balls out there on his home planet of Namek.

Back with Piccolo and Krillin, Nappa and Vegeta were getting impatient.

"You told Raditz about the Dragon Balls. Now, tell us where they are," demanded Vegeta.

"We don't know where they are and even if we did, we'd never tell you," Krillin declared.

"It doesn't matter, we know they're down here and we'll find them with or without your help. Now tell us where they are or we'll kill everyone on this planet," ordered Nappa.

"I don't think so," said Piccolo. "I may come from the planet Namek, but this is my planet now and no one is going to tell me what to do with it. Understand this, we're not here to bow down to your demands. We're here to fight."

Vegeta couldn't help but admire Piccolo's spirit.

Krillin and Piccolo both took a fighting stance and prepared to fight the invaders.

"Very well, if it's a fight you want it's a fight you'll get," said Vegeta.

"Now, let's see how strong the two of you are," said Nappa activating his scouter and scanning them. "The Namek is at fourteen hundred. The midgets at thirteen hundred. Fools, do you really think you can beat us with such puny power levels?"

Vegeta however knew better than to simply trust the scouters.

"Nappa take your scouter off," said Vegeta removing his own. "Remember they can concentrate their energy and raise their fighting power. These readings are worthless."

"Oh right, if I remember correctly, that's how Raditz was beaten by these weaklings," said Nappa removing his scouter.

"I have a better way for us to test their power and have some fun in the meantime," said Vegeta. "Nappa, plant the Saibamen, there should be six of them left."

"What's a Saibaman?" asked Krillin confused.

"Good idea, this should provide us with some decent entertainment," said Nappa, pulling a small glass jar from his pocket. The jar had tiny seeds inside.

"Maybe these will persuade you to tell us where the Dragon Balls are," stated Vegeta.

"I think they'll fine the Saibamen most persuasive," said Nappa.

Nappa kneeled to the ground and planted the seeds in the earth. He then poured some strange green liquid onto them.

"What are they doing?" asked Krillin.

"I think we're about to find out," said Piccolo.

Nappa threw the jar away and a few seconds later, strange green lifeforms started sprouting from the ground. There were six of them in total. Without warning they started circling Piccolo and Krillin, demonstrating impressive speed. After this they demonstrated impressive strength on the surrounding landscape. Their demonstration over, they stood in formation in front of Nappa and Vegeta.

"It's like they're brainless, crazy monsters," said Krillin.

"They're strong to," added Piccolo.

"Well, I'll take the three on the left," stated Krillin.

"And I'll take care of the three on the right," said Piccolo.

The battle for the planet had begun. Piccolo and Krillin just hoped they could stall for time long enough for Goku and Gohan to arrive.

The Saibamen charged at Piccolo and Krillin and the battle began. Despite being outnumbered three to one, Krillin and Piccolo were able to hold their own against the Saibamen. They were able to keep up with the Saibamen's extreme speed and were able to match them hit for hit. They even managed to land a few attacks. To Nappa and Vegeta's surprise they even managed to overpower them and push them back. The Saibamen quickly recovered and stood back in formation.

"Hmm, looks like you planted a weak batch Nappa," stated Vegeta.

"They shouldn't be. Their power levels are twelve hundred. The same power as Raditz," stated Nappa.

"Hmph, that just proves how much of a weakling he was," said Vegeta.

They were about to continue when they heard a call coming from the sky.

"KRILLIN."

They looked to the sky and saw Tien, Yamcha and Chaiotzu descending upon them.

"Sorry we're late," said Yamcha.

"Don't worry about it. Thanks for dropping by," said Krillin.

"Looks like the Saiyan's brought some of their friends with them," stated Tien observing the creatures the stood before them.

"Actually, they grew them here," stated Krillin.

"What?" asked Chaiotzu.

"Don't ask," answered Krillin.

"That's ok it doesn't matter," stated Tien.

The Saiyan's were unimpressed by the new arrivals.

"Well Nappa, looks like it's gone from six against two, to six against five. This might prove to be interesting after all," stated Vegeta.

"Yeah, should be fun to watch," replied Nappa.

"Gentlemen, would you like to make a match of this and fight our soldiers one by one?" asked Vegeta. "Well, answer?"

"We're not here to play games," growled Piccolo. "And we're not here to fight on your terms, we'll take you all on at once."

"Piccolo wait," stated Krillin. "Remember we're still waiting for Goku and Gohan to arrive. We'll likely be able to buy more time if we play it their way."

"I'll go first," said Tien stepping forward. "I'm not afraid of these little creeps and it'll be a good warmup."

"I wouldn't be so cocky," said Nappa. "These guys are stronger than they look."

The Saibamen laughed in amusement.

"Well, I don't see any volunteers," stated Tien.

"Alright you go," said Vegeta to the Saibaman standing in the front. "But don't hold anything back. Got it?"

The Saibaman nodded and stepped forward.

"Be careful Tien," pleaded Chaiotzu.

Tien was about to charge at the Saibaman when they noticed something approaching. They looked to the sky and spotted news helicopters coming towards them. Nappa laughed at this before blowing one of them up. The remaining helicopters fled in terror. This told the warriors of Earth that the Saiyan's were serious and would kill them without a moments hesitation.

"Good, no more distractions. Now what do you say we get this fight started?" asked Nappa.

The Saibaman and Tien each took a fighting stance and prepared to charge. The Saibaman charged first, but Tien managed to blow him away using only his energy. Tien then charged at the Saibaman with great speed. It was during this time that the Saibaman revealed a surprising ability. Its head split open, after which it shot acid at Tien. Tien quickly avoided this attack, after which the remaining acid started flying towards the other defenders. Thankfully they all jumped out of the way before any of them were hurt.

Tien landed behind the Saibaman and charged once again. The Saibaman attempted to flee by jumping in the air, but Tien was too fast and elbowed the Saibaman in the stomach.

"Impossible," said Nappa, as the Saibaman crashed to the ground.

Vegeta on the other hand was expecting this.

"Well, I think it's pretty safe to bet that these Earthlings are stronger then Raditz," stated Vegeta.

"Guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Raditz was a pathetic weakling," said Nappa.

The Saibaman that Tien had fought attempted to stand up, but Vegeta felt he had outlived his usefulness. He pointed his fingers at the Saibaman and used his energy to destroy it.

"Vegeta why?" asked Nappa.

"He was no longer of any use to us," stated Vegeta. "It would've been pointless to let him continue. He was losing, which leads me to believe he wasn't trying his hardest and I specifically told him not to hold anything back."

The remaining Saibamen were understandably horrified by Vegeta's actions.

"Talk about ruthless," stated Krillin.

This told them that these Saiyan's would show no mercy. No prisoners would be taken in this fight. They were fighting for their lives.

"Now, who's next?" demanded Vegeta

"I say if no one wants to step up to fight we should have a free for all," stated Nappa.

"Fine with me," stated Piccolo eager to put the Saibamen in the ground.

"No," interjected Krillin. "I'll go next."

"Wait Krillin. Let me go. I'm anxious to show these guys what we're all about down here on this planet," stated Yamcha.

"Actually Yamcha, I think you should get out of here while you still can. These guys have proved they won't hesitate to kill us, and you have a family to take care of. I don't think you should risk it," stated Krillin.

"Normally I would agree, but you've already been wished back by the Dragon Balls once, I haven't. So, if anything happens at least we know I can be revived," stated Yamcha. "So please, leave this one to me."

"Ok, here's all yours," said Krillin.

"Well, isn't that touching, I'm all warm and tingly inside," said Nappa before directing his attention to one of the Saibamen. "Now go kill him!"

Another Saibaman stepped forward.

"Alright, let's get this over with," said Yamcha.

"Well, this one seems eager," stated Vegeta.

"Yeah, eager to die," said Nappa.

Away from the fight, a news crew were trying their best to capture the fight from a distance. Unfortunately for them, there was so much energy emulating from the battlefield that it was difficult for them to get a clear picture. They were currently broadcasting a scrambled image of Yamcha preparing to take on one of the Saibaman and the whole battle was being viewed by the gathering at Kame House.

"Eww, those things are disgusting," said Bulma referring to the Saibamen.

"It looks like the special forces are ready for action," said a news reporter as Yamcha took a fighting stance.

"Look it's Yamcha," said Puar happily.

"Yamcha, what do you think you're doing?" asked an enraged Chi-Chi who started shaking the TV. "Get away from those horrible things and come home this instant."

Her children Miruku and Naicha on the other hand were watching their father with pride. They'd been made aware that Yamcha was fighting to ensure the survival of the planet and they had never been prouder to call themselves his kids. Like all kids however they still worried about their father.

"Is daddy going to be ok?" asked Naicha.

"Of course he will be," said Puar comforting them. Being best friends with Yamcha, Puar acted like a surrogate family member to the children. "Your daddy is one of the strongest fighters in the world and there's no doubt in my mind that he'll come back safely."

"I hope you're right," said Naicha.

"Daddy, please come back," pleaded Miruku.

Back at the fight, Yamcha charged at the Saibaman who reacted with great speed. Yamcha reacted with similar speed and the two of them appeared to vanish. The fighters and Saiyan's knew this weren't the case and were merely moving extremely fast. The defenders of Earth were able to follow the fight by feeling for their energy.

Yamcha and the Saibaman were fighting across the entire battlefield each throwing a barrage of attacks. It wasn't long before Yamcha gained the upper hand. He kicked the Saibaman backwards, before appearing behind the creature and attempting to attack again. The Saibaman saw this coming and threw Yamcha to the sky. This didn't stop Yamcha, who quickly flew back down and attacked with a powerful kick. The Saibaman managed to dodge this attack and took to the sky. Yamcha followed suit. The Saibaman charged at Yamcha mid-air, who managed to disappear before the creature could land a hit. Yamcha then appeared behind the Saibaman and shot a devastating Kamehama. The attack hit and the Saibaman plummeted towards the ground, creating a small crater. Yamcha flew to the ground to admire his handywork.

"That's two," stated Nappa, who couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Well, that was easy. Looks like we're in a different league to your little green friends," said Yamcha arrogantly. "Now, how about I just take on the other four all by myself?"

"Now that, I'd like to see," laughed Vegeta. "But you won't get the chance."

"Oh yeah, bring them on," stated Yamcha.

Yamcha was about to charge at the remaining Saibamen when the unexpected happened. The Saibaman Yamcha had been fighting sprung from the crater and latched onto him. Yamcha tried to break free, but the creature wouldn't let go. Vegeta smiled as he knew what was coming.

"It's over," said Piccolo.

"What do you mean?" asked Krillin.

The Saibaman glowed a bright shade of white before exploding. Yamcha's allies could only watch in horror as the explosion engulfed his body.

"Let's call that a draw," joked Vegeta.

The smoke cleared and Yamcha was lying lifeless on the ground. The explosion had killed him.

Back at Kame House, Chi-Chi couldn't believe what she was seeing. Had she just watched her husband die?

"Yamcha, stop fooling around. Get up," pleaded Chi-Chi.

The TV screen showed zero movement from Yamcha.

"Yamcha, get up," pleaded Chi-Chi.

Master Roshi put a hand on her shoulder.

"Chi-Chi, he's gone," stated Master Roshi.

She backed away from the television before fainting in her fathers' arms.

"You mean Daddy's dead?" asked Naicha.

"I'm afraid so," said Master Roshi.

"No, he can't be," cried Miruku.

Earth's defenders were still trying to come to terms with the fact that Yamcha had been killed. Krillin was particularly upset, as he hadn't done more to stop Yamcha.

"Oh, get over yourself," stated Nappa. "You'll all be dead soon so it doesn't matter that he's dead."

"Calm down Nappa. Let's give them some time to clear this trash off the battlefield," said Vegeta.

This only infuriated Krillin further. He was determined to avenge his friend.

"Stay out of this guys. This is between me and them now. I'll take on all four of them myself, just like Yamcha was going to do," stated Krillin.

He took a fighting stance and charged at the remaining Saibamen. Little did he know things were about to get much worse for them. Their only hope for survival was for Goku and Gohan to return.

Thanks for reading, please let me know what you think. All feedback is greatly appreciated. I must confess I didn't put as much effort to editing this chapter as I'd like to, so I might make some additional changes down the line.

Before I go I'd like to announce the beginning of a pole. I more or less see this fight going the same way it does in the anime and manga, so I don't think there is much point adapting the majority of the following fight. I decided to include this much as I felt Yamcha's death carried a little more weight here considering he has a family. Nevertheless, I decided to leave what I do for the next chapter up to you. The poll can be found on my profile and is titled 'Saiyan's vs Earthlings'. Options are 'Adapt Entire Fight' and 'Skip To Where Changes are Made'. I'll accept votes from the poll, comments in the reviews, or from personal messages. The choice is up to you. I'll leave the poll up till I'm ready to start the next chapter.
