The Special Beam Cannon was firing at Nappa with amazing speed. If Nappa didn't avoid the attack, he would meet the same fate as Raditz. Unfortunately for Piccolo, Nappa didn't want to die in the same vein as a low classed piece of trash. He jumped out of the way just before the Special Beam Cannon managed to hit.

Piccolo fell to his knees gasping for air. That was his trump card. He'd put all his remaining energy into a single attack in the hopes of avenging his fallen friend. Unfortunately, his efforts had been for nothing. He had no energy left. His only hope now was for Goku and Gohan to arrive.

"Nice try Namekian, but I won't die as easily as that loser Raditz," laughed Nappa.

"Are you sure Nappa? That's twice now you've nearly been killed because you underestimated the strength of an attack," stated Vegeta.

"Give me a break Vegeta, I'm not wearing my scouter so I couldn't see how strong they are," defended Nappa.

"All I hear are excuses," retorted Vegeta. "Now stop wasting time. I told you to kill him before Kakarot and his brat arrive."

Nappa turned back to Piccolo who was still puffing from the last attack.

"Well, looks like the Namekian's out of energy. He'll be dead after a single punch?" declared Nappa.

Nappa charged at Piccolo with his fist outstretched. Piccolo believed this was it, when out of nowhere a blast fired in front of Nappa, who stopped dead in his tracks. They looked to the sky to see that two more fighters had arrived. They jumped off a flying cloud. They both wore orange uniforms. One was an adult with spiky black hair, the other was a child with spiky purple hair. Goku and Gohan had finally arrived.

"Hang on guys we're here," called Goku, as he and Gohan descended to the ground.

They landed in front of Piccolo ready to protect him from Nappa.

"It's about time you got here," stated Piccolo.

"Sorry, the trip took longer than we thought," answered Goku.

Vegeta and Nappa now had their attention on Goku and Gohan, who were believed to be strong enough to defeat them.

"Well, nice of you to show up Kakarot, we were beginning to think you weren't coming," stated Vegeta.

Goku and Gohan however, weren't listening. They were curious as to why Piccolo was the only fighter from Earth left. A quick scan of the surrounding area allowed them to spot the lifeless bodies of Yamcha, Tien and to Goku's greatest horror Krillin. Although Goku couldn't sense any energy, he still felt obligated to check if Krillin was alive. He felt for a pulse but found nothing.

"I'm sorry Goku," interjected Piccolo. "He died trying to save me."

"Why?" asked Goku confused.

"Does it matter?" asked Piccolo.

"I guess not," stated Goku. "What matters is making sure these guys pay for what they've done."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Were they your friends?" mocked Nappa. "They were fun at first, but they all met the same fate in the end."

Goku looked at Nappa enraged.

"Yeah, I killed them all," mocked Nappa. "Well, except for the tiny one, he blew himself up. What's funny is they were all waiting for you to arrive. I guess they were right, but it's too late for them now."

The more Nappa spoke, the angrier Goku got. Seeing this, Gohan felt it was best he put Nappa in his place.

"Dad, let me handle this," said Gohan stepping forward.

"No, I want to make this guy pay for everything he's done," said Goku.

"But Dad, remember what King Kai said. He told me to not get arrogant because these guys will use that to their advantage. I think that same advice applies to you and you're currently letting your anger cloud your judgement. So please, let me deal with this guy. Let me avenge your fallen friends," reasoned Gohan.

Goku looked at his son with pride.

"Alright son, show him what you're made of," said Goku.

Gohan nodded and turned to face Nappa.

"So, this must be Kakarot's brat they were talking about," stated Nappa. "Doesn't look much like a Saiyan to me, especially with that silly purple hair."

"Don't forget Nappa, this kid's only half Saiyan. He must take after his mother," stated Vegeta.

"Yeah, which probably means he'll be a weakling like the other Earthlings," laughed Nappa.

Gohan gave Nappa a death glare.

"Hey Dad, why don't we show these guys just how strong we are?" asked Gohan getting ready to power up.

"Sounds good to me," said Goku clenching his own fists.

"Come on, I haven't got all day," said an impatient Nappa. "Show me what the great Kakarot and his half-breed brat are made of."

"Alright, you wanna see how strong we are, we'll show you," declared Goku.

Goku and Gohan clenched their fists and muscles and started focusing their energy. Their energy increase was so intense that their bodies started glowing, the ground started to shake and crack apart and the resulting rubble started flying into the air.

"Incredible," observed Piccolo. "I knew they would be stronger, but this is unbelievable."

Although Nappa couldn't sense energy, he still knew that Goku and Gohan's power was increasing at an incredible rate. Meanwhile, Vegeta had activated his scouter so he could see just how strong the two had become. Even Vegeta started to believe his scouter was malfunctioning.

"The half-breed's power level reads at over seven thousand. Kakarot's is reading at ten, no eleven thousand," thought Vegeta.

Having reached their maximum, Goku and Gohan stopped focusing their energy and the rubble around them fell to the ground.

"Vegeta, what does the scouter say about their power?" asked Nappa.

"The half-breed's is nearly eight thousand," stated Vegeta removing his scouter.

"WHAT EIGHT THOUSAND? THAT'S TWICE AS STRONG AS ME," yelled Nappa. "WHAT ABOUT KAKAROT?"

Vegeta crushed the scouter in his hand.

"IT'S OVER ELEVEN THOUSAND!"

"ELEVEN THOUSAND? THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT," declared Nappa.

"Believe it. We've been training under King Kai," stated Gohan.

"King Kai? Who's that?" demanded Vegeta.

"Who cares," interjected Nappa. "It doesn't matter who you've been training under, I'm gonna kill you."

Nappa charged at the pair of them. He threw a punch at Goku who disappeared without a trace.

"Where'd he go?" demanded Nappa.

"Never mind him, I'm the one you should be worried about," said Gohan.

Gohan punched Nappa in the stomach and the large Saiyan screamed out in pain. Nappa backed away with his hands on his stomach. Vegeta couldn't believe what he was seeing. How could a small child be so strong?

"You'll pay for that you little brat," declared Nappa.

"Bring it on. I haven't even gotten serious yet," stated Gohan.

"Yeah right, you just caught me off guard. I'm the second strongest Saiyan in the universe so you don't stand a chance against me," stated Nappa.

"No, you're the fourth," corrected Gohan. "Because Dad's stronger than me and I can tell your friend over there is stronger than you."

"That's it. I'LL KILL YOU," yelled Nappa launching at Gohan.

Nappa started throwing a barrage of kicks, which Gohan managed to dodge with ease. A casual viewer might simply believe that Nappa was having trouble hitting such a small target, but everyone on the battlefield knew better. Nappa's speed was child's play next to Gohan.

"Strange. A year ago Kakarot couldn't beat Raditz and now his son is able to stand up against Nappa," observed Vegeta.

Piccolo on the other hand was watching the battle with great joy.

"Good. Beat him Gohan. Make him pay for killing Krillin," said Picccolo.

Nappa continued his barrage of punches and kicks, but not even one had hit their mark. Nappa thought he'd finally landed a punch, before discovering that Gohan had merely disappeared. Nappa looked around, but Gohan was nowhere in sight.

"Hey dumb dumb, I'm up here," called Gohan.

Nappa looked to the sky to see Gohan hovering above him.

"I'm going to crush you like a bug," threatened Nappa.

Vegeta on the other hand was more interested in Gohan's strength then the battle itself.

"How could one little brat get so strong in only one year?" asked Vegeta.

"I told you we've been training under King Kai," interjected Goku.

Vegeta turned to see that Goku had reappeared in front of Piccolo.

"Who is this King Kai?" demanded Vegeta.

"Let's just say he's the greatest martial artist we've ever trained with," stated Goku.

"Hmph, is that so?" asked Vegeta.

Vegeta wanted to enquire more about this King Kai, but Nappa's rage drew his attention back to the battle.

"What's wrong half-breed? Come down here and fight like a Saiyan."

Gohan did as instructed and disappeared. He moved so quickly that Nappa didn't see Gohan land a punch to his face until it was too late. Gohan then threw a downwards kick that slammed Nappa to the ground. Gohan floated to the ground in front of the fallen Saiyan.

"Give up. You can't beat me," stated Gohan.

Goku felt a need to interject.

"Gohan, remember what King Kai said. Don't get cocky," instructed Goku.

"Right, sorry Dad," responded Gohan.

"Don't worry. I think we can let it slide this time. It's clear to everyone that this guy can't beat you," said Goku.

Nappa looked at Gohan with rage. He wasn't happy to be losing to a kid, let alone one that was only half Saiyan.

"You should be nothing compared to me," growled Nappa. "You're nothing, but the half-breed son of a low-class warrior. I'm an elite. I was commander and chief of the entire Saiyan army."

Nappa stood up and attacked, but Gohan was getting bored of this. He dodged Nappa's attack and threw a kick that sent the large Saiyan flying. Nappa stopped himself in mid-air and glared angrily at Gohan. Nappa then shot an energy blast at Gohan, but the young boy just swatted the attack away like it was a pesky insect.

"No way," exclaimed Nappa.

"I'm sorry, was that supposed to hurt?" asked Gohan.

Vegeta couldn't believe his eyes.

"How could a toddler deflect that so easily?"

Gohan had decided enough was enough.

"I'm ending this, right now," said Gohan.

Nappa attempted to defend, but Gohan flew up and attacked before he could even move. Gohan started hitting Nappa with his own barrage of attacks. Every punch and kick the young boy threw hit their mark and Nappa was unable to defend himself. Before long, Gohan threw another punch that caused Nappa to crash to the ground.

"Had enough yet?" asked Gohan, hovering to the ground.

Nappa got up and glared.

"I hate you," growled Nappa.

"No, you hate that I'm stronger than you," corrected Gohan.

"You're not stronger than me," stated Nappa. "Your dad's fighting strength was tested at birth. He's a third-classed warrior, meaning you're a third-classed warrior. I'M AN ELITE."

"Nappa calm down," interjected Vegeta. "You'll never be able to defeat him if you're so angry you can't think straight."

Nappa did as ordered and calmed down.

"Alright half-breed let's try this again," stated Nappa.

"Fine. And by the way, my name is Gohan."

Nappa believed that if he just fought a little smarter, he'd be able to defeat Gohan, but Vegeta knew better. He could tell that Gohan was way out of Nappa's league. As much as he hated to admit it, Nappa had lost.

Nappa then had an idea. Maybe, the best way to beat Gohan would be to catch him by surprise. He charged at Gohan who got ready to counter any attack that was thrown. To his surprise however, Nappa didn't throw an attack. He opened his mouth, which confused Gohan. Nappa shot a powerful beam of energy at Gohan at close range. Gohan only narrowly managed to counter with his own energy beam. When the smoke cleared, Nappa couldn't believe that Gohan was still standing.

"What? That should've killed you," stated Nappa.

"It might've, but thankfully I was able to counter at the last second," said Gohan.

Vegeta felt he'd seen enough.

"Alright, that's it, enough. You're finished Nappa. Since you clearly can't win, I'll take over from here."

Nappa couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Don't give me that. Not only haven't you managed to land a single attack, but you're losing to a child. You've embarrassed us enough," growled Vegeta.

This confirmed what Piccolo had already suspected. Nappa had merely been a warmup. Vegeta was the one they really had to worry about.

Nappa didn't like that he was being sidelned, but he knew better then to argue with Vegeta.

"I hope you enjoyed your victory kid because it means nothing. You might've been able to stand up to me, but you don't stand a chance against Vegeta," stated Nappa.

"We'll see," stated Gohan.

"Gohan," called Goku. "You've done enough. I'll deal with the other one."

"But Dad, I was just getting warmed up," whined Gohan.

"I know, but I think it's best I fight him first. Should he beat me, hopefully he'll be weak enough for you to defeat," stated Goku.

"Good idea Dad, besides I can't have all the fun," laughed Gohan.

"Hmph, so Kakarot wants to fight me. This should be interesting," stated Vegeta.

"Keep dreaming kid," interjected Nappa. "It doesn't matter how strong you've gotten, neither you nor your father have the strength to defeat Vegeta. I'm just sad he won't let me help."

Nappa turned around and headed back to Vegeta. While doing this, he looked across the battlefield at Goku and Piccolo. While he had failed to defeat the half-breed, he knew he had more than enough strength to defeat the Namekian.

"I think you've lived long enough Green Man," declared Nappa before charging at Piccolo.

Normally Gohan would've followed to stop Nappa, but that wasn't necessary. Nappa had forgotten that an even stronger fighter was standing between him and Piccolo. Nappa was about to fire the same attack he had launched at Gohan, when Goku appeared in front of him.

"Don't tell me you forgot about me?" asked Goku, before punching Nappa in the stomach.

Nappa couldn't believe how much pain he was in. It was clear to him that Goku was even stronger than Gohan.

"How, dare you," gasped Nappa.

"Your reign of terror is over," stated Goku. "I won't let you kill anymore Earthlings."

Goku punched Nappa again. He then gave Nappa a kick that sent him flying towards Vegeta. He landed right in front of his comrade.

"Vegeta, I can't move," gasped Nappa.

Vegeta however, could only look at Nappa with disgust. As far as Vegeta was concerned, Nappa had failed him for the last time.

"Looks like I'm going to have to take care of this low classed scum myself."

Nappa struggled to raise his arm.

"Vegeta, please, help me," pleaded Nappa.

Vegeta took Nappa's hand making it seem like he was going to help his comrade. Unfortunately, this was the exact opposite to what Vegeta had planned.

Vegeta smiled evilly.

"I'm sorry Nappa, but I can't do that."

"W, what?" asked Nappa.

"Not only have you lost to low class scum, but you lost to the half-breed offspring of low classed scum. You're a disgrace to the Saiyan race and unworthy of living," stated Vegeta.

Vegeta threw Nappa to the sky and obliterated him with a single energy blast. Within seconds Nappa was destroyed and not by the Earthlings who had fought so hard to defeat him, but by his own ally.

Thanks for reading. Please let me know what you think. Also if you're wondering why Goku is stronger then he is in the original anime, a lot of readers have suggested that Goku would be stronger in this scenario, because not only did he train under King Kai, but Gohan did additional training with him during that time, resulting in him being a little stronger. I actually did this previously with Krillin who I believed would also be stronger had he been training with Piccolo. If you feel I made Goku too strong please let me know and I'll depower him a little.

Furthermore, I've never fully understood how much the Kaio-ken increases the users strength, so for the sake of this story I've made it that a regular Kaio-ken increases the users strength by 1.5 times its original amount. Kaio-ken times 2 is 2 times the original amount, with every subsequent number multiplying the strength by that number. If I'm wrong, please let me know and I'll write the story accordingly.

Thanks again for reading and I'll see you next time. Also starting with the next chapter, I'm attempting a different approach with how I'll write the story. I felt a lot of things would happen like they did in the anime, so I'd copy certain dialogue word for word. From now on I'm just going to re watch the show so I can remember the basic story, but I'm going to write my own dialogue to allow me more creative freedom and hopefully further changes to the cannon.
