Piccolo and Gohan dug themselves out of rubble. Both were a little confused over what happened.

"Did we win?" asked Gohan.

"No, not by a long shot," answered Piccolo. "Also, can you hear that?"

Piccolo's sharp ears could hear someone was in pain.

Loud screaming could be heard on the horizon. Gohan flew into the air to see what it was. Vegeta had Goku in his giant hands and was crushing the life out of him.

"Dad!" Gohan was horrified and infuriated.

Piccolo followed to see what was happening. The man from Namek was just as horrified.

"It's over, we've lost!" exclaimed Piccolo.

"No we haven't," declared Gohan. "Not while I'm still breathing."

"Kid wake up. If your father couldn't beat him, you don't stand a chance," stated Piccolo.

"I would if we turned him back to normal," retorted Gohan.

"We already tried that. If we couldn't remove his tail when he was blinded there's no way we'll be able to remove it now," said Piccolo.

"There has to be another way," Gohan then remembered something. "Wait, didn't you say he also needed the moon to stay transformed?"

"Wait, that's it, the moon," stated Piccolo, looking at the fake moon. "How did we forget about that? If that had been destroyed while he was blinded Goku would've won for sure."

"We can't worry about that now. We have to destroy it while he's distracted so we can help Dad," Gohan charged a Kamehameha.

"Right, you destroy the fake moon, I'll take out the real one. It might not be full but we can't take any more risks," said Piccolo charging his own beam.

They were grateful Vegeta couldn't sense energy. It allowed them to carry out their plan without interruption.

"KAMEHAMEHA!" Gohan blasted the artificial moon.

"DESTRUCTION WAVE!" Piccolo blasted the real moon.

Vegeta heard the shouts and the resulting energy waves. He turned just in time to see both the artificial and real moon explode.

Gohan and Piccolo turned to Vegeta hoping to see him revert to normal. For some reason he remained unchanged.

The giant ape laughed.

"Did you really think it would be that easy?"

"But… you can't transform unless there's a full moon," stuttered Piccolo.

"That may be true when I use an actual moon, but not when I use an artificial one!" laughed Vegeta.

"What?" exclaimed Gohan.

"That's right, even after you destroy an artificial moon, I'll stay transformed," laughed Vegeta. "I'll admit it's only for a limited time, but it'll be more than enough time for me to kill all of you!"

Vegeta crushed Goku more tightly, aiming to squeeze every last breath out of him.

"It's over, once I'm finished with Kakarot you're…" Vegeta trailed off as he felt his tail being severed from his body.

Unknown to everyone, Yajirobi managed to sneak behind Vegeta and sever his tail with his Katana. Vegeta's tail landed on the ground with a thud. As soon as Yajirobi landed, he took off like a coward.

"Who was that guy?" asked Gohan.

"I think his name is Yajirobi," stated Piccolo. "Krillin mentioned a guy with a sword as one of the guys he trained with under Kami."

"Doesn't seem like much of a fighter to me," stated Gohan.

"According to Krillin he's quite strong but avoids fighting as much as possible. Might explain why he didn't help us against the other Saiyan," said Piccolo. "Not that he would've been much help."

"Well at least he's given us a fighting chance," stated Gohan.

Vegeta howled in pain as he could feel himself reverting back to his normal form. He dropped Goku, before shrinking in size and becoming humanoid in appearance. It was now impossible for Vegeta to transform, not only was their no moon in the sky, but he had no tail. Transforming was now impossible.

"YOU FILTHY EARTHLINGS," yelled Vegeta. "YOU'LL PAY, YOU'LL ALL PAY."

Gohan however wasn't scared. While he knew his power wasn't as great as his fathers, he was the only fighter left strong enough to challenge Vegeta.

"What was it you were saying about this being over?" Gohan stepped forward.

Vegeta glared at Gohan.

"Do you honestly think you can beat me boy?"

"I can sense your power has dropped significantly from fighting Dad. I've undergone the same training he did, so I know I can win," declared Gohan.

"Gohan, remember what I said," warned King Kai telepathically.

"Don't worry about me King Kai," answered Gohan. "After what he's done to Dad, I have no intention of going easy on him. I'm going to finish him quickly."

"Big words you brat," interjected Vegeta. "I'll admit though, even though you're a half-breed you have the fighting spirit of a true Saiyan. We'd rather die fighting then run away like cowards!"

"One of us will die fighting, but it won't be me," declared Gohan. "KAIO-KEN!"

Gohan glowed crimson and changed at Vegeta, punching the bigger Saiyan in the face.

Vegeta was launched into the sky, but quickly recovered.

"Hmph, this kid will be a bigger challenge then I thought," Vegeta rubbed his chin where Gohan had hit.

Not wanting to give Vegeta a chance to retaliate, Gohan continued his attack. Vegeta disappeared as Gohan threw a kick. Vegeta reappeared and kicked Gohan from behind. While Vegeta had been weakened in his fight with Goku, he could tell he still had enough strength to defeat the boy.

"Not bad brat, but that won't be enough. Once I'm done with you, I'll kill the Namekian, then I'll dismember the coward who cut off my tail," declared Vegeta.

Yajirobi heard this while hiding behind a hill and gulped.

"Once you're all dead, I'll make sure I cause your father as much pain as possible," declared Vegeta.

Every vein in Gohan's head enflamed.

"I won't let you lay another hand on my dad," declared Gohan. "KAIO-KEN TIMES TWO!"

"Gohan no," urged Goku weakly, knowing this technique was more harmful to Gohan.

Gohan charged forward and attacked Vegeta with all his might. At this level they were equal.

With Gohan distracting Vegeta, Piccolo checked on Goku.

"You alright?" asked Piccolo.

"Yeah, but I'm in no shape to fight," answered Goku.

"I can see that. I'm guessing he's broken nearly every bone in your body," stated Piccolo.

"More or less. Even if I could summon the energy to fly, there's no way I could throw a punch," groaned Goku.

Piccolo presented the half of the Senzu Bean he'd saved.

"Here, I saved this just in case you needed it. I just hope it's enough to get you back to full strength."

"No, we can't waste that on me. Gohan's gonna need it," reasoned Goku.

Piccolo looked to the sky to see Gohan matching Vegeta hit for hit.

"Why? He's doing fine!"

"He's doing fine now, but the technique he's using to increase his strength takes its toll on the body. I could fight at that level with minimal problem, but Gohan's body is smaller and less resilient than mine!" explained Goku.

"So, in other words he won't be able to hold that form for long?" asked Piccolo.

"No and if he takes it too far it could kill him," said Goku.

"We'll unfortunately he's the last hope we have of defeating the Saiyan. Meaning that's a risk he may have to take," stated Piccolo.

"No, there's still a way we can win without anyone else dying," said Goku.

"How? You said it yourself, you're in no condition to fight," stated Piccolo.

"I can't but you can, so I'm going to give you some energy," said Goku.

"I highly doubt you have any energy left," said Piccolo.

"It won't be from me. It'll be from the planet," stated Goku.

"Wait, you mean you still have the energy you gathered for the Spirit Bomb?" asked Piccolo.

Goku assumed Gohan had told Piccolo about the Spirit Bomb.

"Not all of it. I lost most of it, but I have a little left. If we're lucky it may be enough to finish him off for good," said Goku. "But we have to be careful, we only have one chance to do this."

"Are you sure you want to trust me with this?" asked Piccolo as their history wasn't great.

"I have a feeling Krillin would, which is good enough for me," stated Goku. "Besides, this gives us both the chance to avenge his death."

"That I can agree with," laughed Piccolo. "So, what do we do?"

"Give me your hand," instructed Goku struggling to raise his hard.

Piccolo grabbed Goku's arm, causing him to wince in pain. While Piccolo hadn't tried to hurt Goku, this showed just how injured Goku was. Such a simple task caused him a lot of pain.

Goku transferred the remaining Spirit Bomb energy to Piccolo who found his hand glowing.

"Amazing, I've never felt such power," stated Piccolo. "Now what?"

"Make sure your palm is facing upwards, then focus the energy into a ball," instructed Goku. "But don't force it. You must remain calm and let the energy flow through you!"

Piccolo had a feeling that all his years of meditation would come in handy. The Namek did as instructed and before long a large blue ball of energy appeared in his hand.

"Is this the…"

"Yes, that's a Spirit Bomb," said Goku.

"Are you sure this will be enough to finish him off?" asked Piccolo.

"I hope so, because we only get one shot at this," said Goku.

"Right, I'll make sure this hits, or die trying," declared Piccolo.

"Just be careful with it. It's only harmless to those who have a pure heart and even though you've changed sides, I have a feeling you wouldn't be considered pure hearted!" explained Goku.

"Thanks for the tip," grunted Piccolo.

"Good luck Piccolo, I know you can do this," said Goku.

Piccolo nodded and took off, trying to get as close to the fight as possible. Once he felt he was close enough, he waited for the right moment to attack. This was a difficult challenge.

Gohan was still attacking Vegeta without mercy, meaning he'd likely get caught in the crossfire if Piccolo threw the Spirit Bomb. To make matters worse they were moving so fast that Piccolo could barely follow.

"Damn, how am I ever going to know when to throw this when they won't stop moving?" thought Piccolo. "I also risk hitting Goku's son if I'm not careful."

"Don't use your eyes, you have to feel for the right moment," said a voice in Piccolo's head. "Track their movements with your other senses, this will reveal the ideal time to launch the Spirit Bomb."

"Who's there?" Piccolo looked around for the source of the voice.

"Don't bother looking, I'm speaking directly into your mind!"

"My mind? Wait a minute are you the one who trained Goku? King Kai?" asked Piccolo.

"Yes, so trust me. It is not your eyes you must rely on, it's your other senses," instructed King Kai.

"Right but even if I could find the right opportunity, what about Goku's kid? He'll be caught in the blast," stated Piccolo.

"Don't worry about that, just throw it. I'll instruct Gohan on what to do," insisted King Kai.

Gohan continued to throw a barrage of attacks at Vegeta, attempting to defeat the Saiyan once and for all. Kaio-Ken Times Two was taking its toll and Gohan didn't know how much longer he could keep this up.

"Gohan," spoke King Kai telepathically.

"Kinda busy King Kai," answered Gohan before punching Vegeta in the face.

"I know but this is important," insisted King Kai. "Piccolo is preparing to launch a Spirit Bomb."

"A Spirit Bomb?" Gohan looked to the corner of his eye and saw Piccolo standing on a nearby hill. "How'd he do that?"

"Goku lent him the remaining energy gathered from the Earth," stated King Kai.

"Bummer, I should've stayed behind. Then I could've wielded it," groaned Gohan.

"This isn't the time Gohan," lectured King Kai. "Listen, Piccolo is waiting for the right moment to throw the bomb. When he does, you need to make sure the Saiyan is hit. It's your last chance to win this."

"Don't worry King Kai, I'll make sure he's on a collision course," declared Gohan.

Gohan continued to fend off Vegeta, while Piccolo scanned for the right moment to throw.

Piccolo's eyes shot open.

"Alright here goes," stated Piccolo. "HEY SAIYAN!"

Vegeta turned.

"Take this. It's from the planet," declared Piccolo. "SPIRIT BOMB!"

Piccolo threw the Spirit Bomb which hurtled towards Vegeta. The prince of Saiyans was about to dodge, but Gohan was determined to live up to his end of the deal.

"KAIO-KEN TIMES THREE!" Gohan now surpassed Vegeta in both speed and strength. He had to make this count, as the increase in strength would put a huge strain on him.

Gohan charged forward and kicked Vegeta into the Spirit Bomb. Vegeta made contact and the bomb exploded, once again hurtling Vegeta to the sky.

Gohan stopped glowing and floated to the ground gasping for air. As predicted taking the Kaio-Ken to times three had put a huge strain on his body. If Vegeta survived the attack, Gohan was powerless to defend.

Using the last of his strength Gohan headed towards his father.

"Dad, you alright?" Gohan landed next to his father.

"I've been better son," laughed Goku. "Listen you did great out there, I'm so proud of you!"

"Thanks Dad," said Gohan. To him this was the greatest honour he could earn.

"Well looks like it's over," interjected Piccolo flying over.

"Yeah, thanks for all your help Piccolo. I'm glad you're on our side now," laughed Goku. "I guess we have Krillin to thank for that!"

"Indeed, but I'll admit even if we were still enemies, I don't think I'd kill you as you are," stated Piccolo.

"Yeah, probably isn't a fulfilling victory if you kill someone with no energy and a broken body," laughed Goku.

"Yeah, especially if I didn't do it myself," joked Piccolo.

"Are you guys gonna joke about this for the rest of your lives?" asked Gohan.

"Maybe not that long but come on you gotta see the irony to Piccolo now being my ally," laughed Goku.

Everyone present laughed. During this time Gohan winced. It was clear the Kaio-Ken Times Three had done significant damage.

"Piccolo the Senzu Beam," requested Goku.

"Right," said Piccolo presenting the half Senzu Bean. "Here, I saved this just in case we needed it."

Gohan looked confused.

"What are you giving that to me for? Dad's in far worse shape then I am."

"Gohan I want you to have it," interjected Goku. "My body's to damaged for half a Senzu Bean to fix. It'll be wasted on me. Besides, while Vegeta didn't kill me, I have a feeling your mother will if you come home injured."

"Good point," Gohan took the bean from Piccolo and ate it.

His energy restored Gohan jumped up. He was glad he took the Senzu Bean, because it meant he could still fight if Vegeta was still alive.

"Now what do we do?" asked Gohan.

"Well, I think you should get your mother and tell her everything that's happened. I'm sure she'll waste no time gathering the Dragon Balls so we can wish everyone back," stated Goku.

This statement made Piccolo sad.

"We can't wish everyone back. Krillin and Chaiotzu have already been wished back once, we can't do it again!"

"I'm sure we'll find a way," interjected Goku. "We just have to see if there's another way we can bring people back."

Piccolo smiled.

"Krillin said you were never one to lose hope."

"Nope and I never will be," laughed Goku

Gohan was about to take off when Vegeta crashed to the ground. He was covered in blood and his armour was severely damaged. Even though Vegeta wasn't showing any signs of life they approached with caution.

"Is he dead?" asked Gohan.

"I think so. I can't sense any energy," said Piccolo. "Good riddance. This scum bag doesn't deserve to breath."

Vegeta's eyes shot open.

"Who's a scumbag?"

Vegeta struggled to stand. It was clear he didn't have much energy left.

"I'll admit that attack was pretty strong, but not strong enough," Vegeta limped forward. "But that was your last chance. I'm going to take great pleasure killing all of you."

Using the last of his strength Vegeta charged forward. Gohan and Piccolo were prepared to counter, but he disappeared.

"Where'd he go?" Gohan scanned the area.

"RIGHT HERE," called Vegeta from above.

They looked up and saw Vegeta shooting downwards. Having been caught by surprise, Vegeta wanted to ensure there would be no more sneak attacks. They had no time to react as Vegeta punctured Goku's chest where the heart was located. Goku didn't even have time to scream as the life drained from his body.

"Goku!"

"Dad!"

Vegeta laughed. "Good, no more surprise attacks and with Kakarot dead victory is mine."

Vegeta confidently turned to face Earth's remaining defenders.

Gohan had gone red and was fuming.

"What's wrong boy did your father's death anger you?" laughed Vegeta. "Don't look so sad you'll be joining him soon!"

Piccolo meanwhile stepped back in horror. If Vegeta hadn't wished he could sense energy he would certainly wish for it now. Gohan's power was rising at an alarming rate. Piccolo estimated that Gohan was stronger than Vegeta had been at the start of the battle and he hadn't even used the Kaio-Ken.

"Well, are you going to show me it was wrong to kill your father or are you just going to stare at me?" laughed Vegeta.

The colour of Gohan's eyes disappeared as he was consumed by his rage. He charged forward and before Vegeta could even respond Gohan punched him in the stomach.

Vegeta clutched his stomach and stepped back in pain. How was this kid so much stronger than he'd been a few minutes ago?

Vegeta barely had time to question this when Gohan charged again and punched him in the face. Vegeta had to do something quickly or he'd be in serious trouble

As Gohan charged for a third time, Vegeta fired a few energy blasts in the hope of slowing him down. Gohan didn't even notice them when they made contact. Vegeta jumped out of the way just before Gohan could attack.

"What the hell! How has he gotten so strong?" asked Vegeta.

Vegeta had to end this before Gohan ended him.

"I think I have just enough strength for one more," Vegeta flew higher and charged another Galick Gun.

Gohan caught sight of Vegeta and took to the sky after him.

"Take this you brat! GALICK GUN," yelled Vegeta launching the beam.

The beam hit Gohan, but the boy was unfazed. In fact, he caught the blast with his hands. Vegeta gave the beam as much energy as he could, but it wouldn't budge. As Gohan fended of the beam, he only got angrier, which unfortunately for Vegeta made Gohan stronger. Gohan used this to push the beam back at Vegeta.

Vegeta had to dash out of the way to avoid being hit by his own attack.

"But how?" stuttered Vegeta. "I might be weakened but how could that kid overpower my Galick Gun?"

Before Vegeta could get an answer, Gohan appeared, kicked him, sending him flying. Vegeta was unable to recover as Gohan overtook him and hit him to the ground. Vegeta landed with a crash and struggled to stand. Gohan landed, lifted Vegeta by the neck and started strangling him. In addition to this, Gohan started punching Vegeta continuously in the stomach.

Piccolo and Yajirobi could only looked on in horror as they witnessed Gohan beating Vegeta to death. They knew there was nothing they could do to stop him. The Gohan they knew was gone. He was consumed by anger and rage. The only person who could stop Gohan's rage was Goku.

Thanks for reading. This was originally going to mark the end of the Saiyan Saga, but I was given a suggestion that made me want to take this story in a different direction. Credit for this suggestion goes to Marly Mar who suggested to me to have Vegeta kill Goku, allowing Gohan to have a significant rage boost like he often does in the cannon. I've also been advised to be unafraid of changing the cannon and I thought this was a great way to do that. Will Vegeta survive Gohan's wrath? Stay tuned to find out.

Thanks again for reading. Please let me know what you think, all feedback is greatly appreciated.
