Bella's POV

I woke up to the smell of medicine and a lingering metallic scent in the air. I was once again in Forks hospital.

Pain was present in all my limbs as my eyes travelled across my temporarily room. As my eyes landed on the tiny needle inserted in my hand, a loud moan escaped my dry lips.

Almost immediately Edward started asking if I needed anything, when the question landed on food my stomach began to swirl. I was going to bring up whatever my body could.

"Bucket" was all I could manage while keeping my mouth mostly shut. A bucket was placed under my chin and strong arms hauled me into a sitting position. Just in time, I started to dry heave, forgetting my stomach was empty and nothing will come up.

After the first embarrassment was ticked off my mental list, l noticed the dark sky through the tiny hospital window. Confusion washed over me as my lost consciousness memory was recalled from the morning.

Regretting my question almost instantly, I asked, "How long have I been asleep?"

In his musical but pained voice, he answered,"11 hours, 2 minutes and 57 seconds."

I mentally slapped myself, I've been causing pain for every one who loves me and in spite of that I still I had no idea what was wrong with me.

Wanting to know the answer to the question that has been nagging at me since I woke up, I asked, "So what's wrong with me?"

I could see him pinch himself between his eyes as he whispered, "Spanish influenza! "

I gasped, trying to control the wave of thoughts before my headache made its appearance again. Now wonder Edward was in this state, I had the one disease that he would have died of if Carlisle wasn't there.

Alice's POV

I was sitting in Jasper's lap doing some online shopping when I went into one of my visions. Noticing the change in my emotions, Jasper stared at me in concern, even though he knew my visions couldn't harm me.

Vision

I saw myself gracefully gliding to the phone that we only used in emergencies and accept it with a wary look. The voice on the other side belonged to my brother, Edward.

He was repeating the same sentence, my Bella is sick with the Spanish influenza. (vision ends)

As I came back to reality, I jumped to my feet, racing to collect my purse and head to the hospital. Before I could rip the door from its hinges, a calming wave washed over me and a muscular blonde was standing before me. Jasper

" Alice, calm down, I'm not letting you go before I get an explanation."

As his hands hovered over my shoulders, I swiftly explained the situation. Afterwards, I sweetly asked with my puppy eyes if he could tell everyone and get them at the hospital in 3 and a half hours.

Already knowing the answer, I kissed him on the cheek and speed to my dream car.

My car zipped across the road well over the speed limit when another vision made itself known, causing my eyes to cloud over and my control over the car to be lost.

Vision

Edward was running at vampire speed through the trees, Bella keeping pace easily. Her eyes were crimson red. (end of vision)

I screamed in frustration as the normal surroundings came back in view. My beautiful car was pressed against a lamp post. My emotions remained, even though one of my visions had warned me earlier today.

This morning it took almost two hours of Jasper's calming waves to sooth me and I still didn't tell him the truth behind my vision. Now everyone will know the reason behind my sorrow.

As the grounding of my teeth became less frequent, I began thinking of a plan. Bella and Edward weren't going to be at the hospital for at least two hours, the perfect time to stop at the garage.

While I waited at the garage, I decided to call Jasper and tell him the terrible news. He picked up on the second ring and I explained the damage in detail.

After my rant, I heard a chuckle from my Jazzy, he found my emotional pain assuming. Before he could say anything, I hang up. Frustrated, I took my now repaired ride and drove to the hospital to warn Carlisle.

Jasper's POV

The whole family except Edward and Carlisle were seated in the hospital's waiting room, worrying about Bella's condition. My families emotions were mostly the same worry and sadness, and my mate had one extra emotion. Anger directed at me.

She was still mad at me from earlier when I 'insulted' her emotional pain.

I moved closer to her breathtaking form and wrapped my arms around her waist, silently begging for forgiveness and distracting myself from the overwhelming emotions.

She huffed and folded her arms, showing me she wasn't going to forgive with ease. Playing difficult, one of her many strong points. An idea sparked in my mind as I held her closer to me.

I sent an overpowering amount of lust towards her. She stiffened and turned towards me, a small smile on her lips. I let go of her and walked out of the hospital before a kiss could be shared. Her confusion was evident as she followed me.

As the distance between us closed, I speed away into the forest, letting the chase begin.

This would solve both my problems and I would make sure where back before the time Alice predicted Bella to open her eyes.
