"You don't really mean that." The figure before me tutted back.
*SNAP*
It's a merry go round of 'ifs'. No potential answers can be found. It's a dilemma we have to live with constantly.
Pain was barely withheld by a bite on the lip, and I let the crimson fluid stain my person.
We can't change the past, or the actions that led to our current state of nature…
The figure gazed in satisfaction as I struggled to move under their hold.
But you can afford to change your future right here, right now.
"What are you going on about?" The figure asked as beneath the excruciating agony, I was chortling.

The Akuma could only enlarge their eyes at the insinuation. But by then, it was already too late.

The figure let out a cry as we were flung back, and I endured from doing the same as I was blown off the spalled building.
I shielded myself from the shards piercing my skin as I broke through the window, and did my best to fall into a position that would do the least bodily harm.
Every single part of my body throbbed as I rolled onto the ground. I was about to scream to express my affliction, but I raised a hand to muffle it.

Managing to drag myself behind one of the broken off properties, I weakly opened one eye as everything came full circle.
A turmoil of emotions flurried within me as both my salvation, and my damnation arrived.
