Chapter 3.
Tased.
One week later…
Yakko, Wakko, and Dot all found themselves indwelt in the midst of chaos by the time they finally got into the setting of Cortez's film. The film was nothing more than a modern western action film. While the Warners were doing their scenes each day of the week, Wakko could not help but notice that Sergeant Fontana, Officer Layton, and Officer Kari Lopez had blended in with the rest of the cast and film makers. And so had Detectives Chase, Washington, and Chaney. And to Wakko, Fontana looked pretty intimidating when the older cop had gotten a part in Cortez's film as a "dangerous clown." However, for Wakko, he didn't have to be in the scene with his siblings when Fontana got the part of the "dangerous clown." While they were on set each day, the three of them learned that Fontana had been an actor back in the day. But he had given up that career when he joined the Los Angeles Police Department. Then they started happening. While on a particular scene, the saboteur had planted an actual bomb in one of the fake vehicles. And when they were on set, both Yakko and Cortez had about been killed when the bomb went off. Then came Wakko and Fontana almost getting their heads shot off from a couple live rounds. They had been in a scene where "guns" had to be used. The saboteur had managed to place a couple bullets in one of the "guns." Hence the reason why Wakko and Fontana had almost died when one of the other actors had pulled the trigger on his "gun." The actor who was supposed to have "shot" Wakko was ironically, none other than Peter Tosh. Surprisingly, Tosh didn't know that his "gun" had live rounds in it. And all that was just one week ago.
Currently, however, despite the fact that they were there, the cops from 32nd had not even found their suspect. And as of now, Chase had been currently talking with Washington about the case when Wakko entered the room. Immediately, both detectives acted like they had not been talking about anything at all.
"What's up Pipsqueak?" Chase asked after he took a sip of his coffee.
Wakko immediately went for the refrigerator and pulled out a thing of lunch meat and a loaf of bread.
"Hungry."
Chase thought he saw Skyler smirk. "What's so funny?"
"The fact that he, and his sibs are timeless."
Chase only rolled his eyes. "Ah boy! I knew it. You've grown into them."
Skyler immediately fixed her eyes on Dolan. "Oh c'mon now, get used to it."
Suddenly, Wakko smiled. "And don't forget, you've grown into her."
Immediately, Dolan and Skyler flinched.
"What the heck!? Wakko!? What the heck are you talking about?" Dolan asked.
Wakko only snickered.
"I've been seeing how you and her have been reacting to each other. Trust me, I've seen with Jasper and Rachel before they had gotten married."
Skyler immediately laughed. "Oh heavens no! It's just a part of the act for tonight's scene. Right Dolan?"
Dolan suddenly smirked, knowing what Skyler was doing.
"Yes that's right! Just for tonight's scene."
Wakko then only nodded his head. "Well, even if it's just for tonight's scene, I still have my eyes on you both."
Dolan only pinched the bridge of his nose. "Wakko, got out of here before I make you."
Wakko immediately grabbed the sandwich that he had made and ran out of the little kitchen in Chase's RV before the detective could grab him.
Later on…
The scene was officially going on. Cortez had everyone who was to be in the scene take their places. Cortez had to reshoot the scene where Wakko was supposed to get "shot." He hoped that the saboteur hadn't done anything this time. As everyone got themselves ready to take their positions, Cortez sat down in the director's chair. Then came the shooting of the little scene. Everyone took their positions. Sure enough, just as the scene was about done, Tosh came on. Chase, Washington, and Fontana's characters were supposed to have been "killed" off by Tosh's character. And now, on set, it was just him and Wakko. Just as Tosh pulled the trigger on his "gun", something came out of the "weapon" and immediately, Wakko yelped sharply as he felt what felt like a razor sharp arrow hit him in the chest. He then felt a immediate jolt of electricity snake its way in and through him. Wakko suddenly fell to the ground and yelped all the more. Upon seeing what just happened, Cortez leapt out of his chair and grabbed a megaphone and yelled into it.
"Cut! Cut! Cut!"
Immediately, the scene had been cut, and the three detectives suddenly got off the ground and saw that Tosh still had his hand on the "gun"—of which was none other than a taser. Tosh immediately let go of the taser, and once he did, Wakko stopped screaming. Suddenly, Chase had grabbed his commlink and had called for medical assistance. Tosh, on the other hand, was in complete shock.
Tosh looked down at Wakko. "Oh my gosh! Did I-I just… you know, k-kill him?"
Fontana—who was on his knees right beside an unconscious Wakko—immediately looked up at the actor.
"I don't think so. He's just probably out cold."
Cortez had already reached them by the time Chase came back. And right behind him was none other than Yakko and Dot. They had scared looks on each of their faces, especially Yakko. Dot only placed a hand on her mouth while Yakko immediately knelt down beside his brother and cradled him. Wakko felt a little cold. His eyes were closed, and his breathing sounded a little labored. Just as Dot knelt down next to Fontana, Yakko felt Wakko stir a little.
"Wakko? Hey, it's me, Yakko. Please talk to me. Please?"
Wakko slowly opened up one eye and saw that Yakko was holding him in his arms. He then opened the other eye and took a deep breath. By that point, both Jasper and Rachel had arrived at the scene. Chase had told them what had happened to Wakko.
Jasper immediately eyed a worn looked Wakko.
"You okay there Pipsqueak?"
Wakko slowly directed his gaze towards Jasper and weakly, he smiled his usual goody smile, tongue barely sticking out the side of his mouth. The rest of the crowd sighed in relief as they saw that Wakko was doing a little better.
Fontana reached for his Walkman CB and spoke into it.
"5032. It was just a false alarm. Repeat, a false alarm."
Fontana immediately, with Chase's help, gently lifted Wakko up out of Yakko's arms and placed him on a gurney once a doctor had arrived at the scene.
Yakko suddenly squeezed in between both Sergeant Fontana and Detective Chase as he and Dot watched their brother be taken to a nearby medical station. Dot immediately looked up at Yakko, and saw right away that he had a worried look on his face. She didn't blame him at all for having that look across his face. She felt the same way about Wakko. Dot hoped that her immediate older brother was alright. He just had to be…
An hour later…
Yakko had never felt more worried about his siblings then he did now. About an hour ago, he and Dot had heard from Cortez that Wakko had been tased and had about been shocked to death. Currently, Wakko had been taking it easy, as was said by the doctor at the medical station. Yakko watched as his baby brother was resting in the bed that was in Jasper and Rachel's RV. Yakko then gently placed a hand in Wakko's and sighed as he felt the tears coming out of his eyes. He had been close to losing one of his siblings, all because someone decided that it would be a "smart" idea to try to sabotage and ruin Cortez's film. Yakko didn't like the fact that he, and his younger siblings were having to "pay" for this saboteur's sins, when it should be him, or whoever the saboteur was. Suddenly, Yakko felt Wakko's hand twitch in his. The older of the two boys smiled as he saw Wakko open up one eye and look at him all groggily. Then the younger yawned as he opened his other eye.
"Ah, I'm well rested." Wakko managed to say as he stretched.
Then he took one look at Yakko and saw that he had crying about something.
"Hey, it's okay now. We're gonna be fine." Wakko said, hoping that the words that he just said would, at least, comfort his older brother.
Yakko started caressing Wakko's face. "I know that we're gonna be fine. Still, we could've lost you. For all you know, that could have been a bullet. Or an arrow."
Wakko then got off the bed, and once he was on his feet, he hugged Yakko. The older returned it, knowing that he doing so was actually quite the comfort he desperately needed. He needed to know that Wakko was going to be okay. He needed to know that Dot wouldn't have to have her share of the saboteur's mayhem. And he needed to know that all three of them, himself included, were going to be okay, and that they would survive this ordeal. Yakko then rested his head on Wakko's. The younger one immediately smiled as he felt Yakko resting his head on his. After a minute of them comforting each other, they broke the hug and Yakko placed a brotherly kiss on Wakko's head. However, just as they were about to head for the kitchen area of the RV, Dot suddenly burst into the room. And before Yakko or Wakko could figure out what was happening, she ran into her brothers, making them—her included—fall back onto the bed. As soon as they hit the bed, all three of them laughed and giggled. Then both Wakko and Dot snuggled up against Yakko, one sibling on each side of him. Yakko then placed both arms around both of them, rather gentle. Then he smiled.
Yakko smirked as he felt his sibs snuggle against him tighter.
"Ah, this is the life. I would never—and when I mean 'never'—I mean, never would I trade you all for the world. I don't know what I do without you both. I love you both so much more than you would ever know."
Wakko and Dot both smiled as they soaked in the words that their older brother had just spoke to them.
"Oh Yakko, quit being such a worry rat." Dot joked.
Yakko suddenly smiled as he started tickling both her and Wakko. Immediately, the two younger started laughing hysterically. Soon enough, however, Yakko got tired of tickling them both.
Big mistake…
Suddenly, Wakko and Dot smirked at each other. Then they started tickling their brother. And now, Yakko was the one who was laughing hysterically, and out loud also. Then the both of the younger two grew tired. However, they were over the top of him. Wakko and Dot cocked their heads, smiling as they did so. Yakko suddenly smiled as he was face to face with his siblings.
All the while, they had no idea that Rachel had been standing right outside the bedroom, watching them have their bonding time with each other as any other pair of siblings would. Rachel smiled, enjoying them bond with each other was a privilege for her as she never had any siblings as a kid. Not wanting to spoil the moment between them, Rachel quietly turned herself around and silently walked away from them. And they had not even noticed her there.
Yakko then suddenly pulled Wakko and Dot into a hug as he pulled them down. They returned the hug right away as they saw him smiling.
"I love you both so much." Yakko suddenly whispered.
Wakko and Dot squeezed their hug as for an answer.
Yakko suddenly grinned as he cocked his head until he was staring at both his baby brother and baby sister. However, what he didn't know was that their world was about to fall apart once again.
If only Yakko knew how soon that everything would change, and that it was definitely not for the better… but for the worst.
Uh oh! Those last two mini paragraphs that I put in, what does it mean for them? More of Here and Now will explain what I exactly mean. Until then, as my usual…
God bless you!
