Chapter 7.
Taken.
As the sun rose up and peeked it's light through the window of the living room, Yakko slowly opened his eyes and smiled sleepily. As he tried to get his mind to wake up, he felt something move on his right hand side. He slowly looked down and saw that Wakko was also slowly waking up. Then he looked at his left hand side and saw that Dot was still asleep yet. Wakko then gently snuggled up against Yakko and smiled as he did so. Yakko then playfully placed his head on top of Wakko's. The middle child then quietly snickered, being careful not to wake Dot up. As Yakko stretched, he saw a red colored blanket that was on the floor next to the couch. He then smiled as he somewhat remembered what Jasper and Rachel had done for them when they came back last night. The human couple didn't know it at the time, but the eldest Warner was secretly awake when they had placed the blanket on him and his siblings last night. Yakko then looked down at Dot, and saw that she had a blue colored blanket wrapped all around her. As Yakko felt the warm bodies of his younger siblings on either side of him, he thought of the lyrics of a song that he had heard recently. The song had something to do about the singer, and his family. Yakko suddenly thought if he could, he would switch some of the words of the song from 'daughter' and 'wife' to 'sister', and 'brother'. As Yakko thought about it, he immediately smiled.
I wanna hear Heaven when my sister laughs
And feel the Spirit when we dance
When we dance, she always wants to dance…
Yakko suddenly smiled again as he felt Wakko gently place his hand around his back. The older brother looked down at him, and smiled as he saw that Wakko was looking up at him, and was smiling. Yakko suddenly smiled back as he thought of the song again…
Chasing the beauty, like fireflies
Staying present when I'm with my brother
It's been a while, since I really saw him…
Wakko then closed his eyes and snuggled up against Yakko again. The eldest then shook him gently, and playfully.
"Let's get some breakfast, baby bro." Yakko suddenly whispered softly.
Wakko immediately opened one eye and smiled as he heard his oldest sibling suggest breakfast. He immediately got off the couch, and he felt Yakko do the same. As they did, Yakko gently—without waking up Dot—laid her out on the couch. Dot didn't even stir as soon as Yakko was done doing so. As both brothers headed into the kitchen, Yakko saw a little note on the refrigerator. He immediately took it off and read it.
"Hey guys, first of all; just wanted to let you all know, Ray and I had to leave early, so we could help Intelligence with the case. And second of all; there's waffles in the freezer if you all wake up, that is, and if so, just in case if y'all get hungry, especially Pipsqueak, ha!
Sincerely,
Jasper."
Yakko then smiled as he opened up the freezer and grabbed the box of waffles, and once he opened it, he saw that they were prepackaged. Wakko, on the other hand, went for the fridge and pulled out a carton of eggs. He then opened it up and started cracking eggs. Yakko thought that at first, Wakko was just going to eat them, raw. But then, he was shocked when he saw the middle sibling go for a skillet and placed it on the stovetop. And after letting the skillet heat up for a moment, Wakko then gently dumped the egg yolks and whites into the skillet. Yakko all the while toasted the waffles, using the toaster. And as the eggs were getting done, Wakko placed a few seasonings in with them. By the time they were finally done making breakfast, Dot had finally woke up and rubbed her eyes as she opened them. Suddenly, the scent of breakfast reached her nose, and she was immediately bewildered when both Yakko and Wakko were standing by the couch. She immediately sat herself up.
"You got enough sleep sis?" Yakko asked, a smile on his face.
Dot nodded her head tiredly. "Yeah, but now; I'm hungry."
She then followed her two older brothers to the kitchen counter/bar area. When they made it to the counter, Yakko about got up and serve breakfast, but Wakko beat him to it. And ironically, both Yakko and Dot were stunned by Wakko's sudden act of kindness. As soon as he got done, he joined his siblings at the countertop and as they ate breakfast, Yakko happened to notice that Wakko had taken his hat off and was crying. But the tears were tears of joy, not grief. Yakko also noticed that Wakko had a small, sad look on his face. Dot looked at Yakko, then she looked at Wakko and saw why her immediate older brother was saddened.
"I know Wak." Dot said softly.
Wakko then smiled suddenly.
"I remember when Mom used to make these for us on the weekends."
Yakko couldn't help but notice that his brother's Scouser voice had a hint of saddened grief in it. He then immediately placed a hand on his brother's shoulder.
"I do too, baby bro. You did good with the eggs. Did you mean to make 'em the way you did?"
Wakko smiled, but it wasn't full wattage. "Yes. They're good the way they are."
Dot suddenly smirked.
"Hey Wakko? Why do you not tell eggs jokes?"
Wakko immediately wiped the remaining tears from his face and smiled.
"Because they'll crack up!"
Dot smiled suddenly, and pretty soon, both younger siblings started laughing. Yakko only looked on, watching his siblings have fun.
And this is why I will never let them go.
Wakko suddenly smiled again. "Now I got one for you; why did the frog call the mechanic when his car broke down?"
Dot immediately looked confused, but with a smile. "Don't know that one."
Wakko chuckled. "Because he needed it toad!"
Dot immediately laughed again. "Now, that's funny Wakko!"
Yakko—despite himself—looked on without saying a word. But he couldn't help but laugh at Wakko's joke. Just as they got over with laughing, they heard the door to the living quarters open and shut. They looked towards the doorway and saw that Jasper and Rachel had just came back. Rachel immediately took notice that the Warners were all smiles.
"Okay, what's going on?"
Wakko placed a hand to his face as he chortled.
"Why did the frog call the mechanic when his car broke down?" Wakko repeated.
Rachel then thought about it a little. "Don't know. Why?"
"Because he needed it toad!" Wakko exclaimed happily as he put his hat back on.
Jasper immediately snickered. "Oh my goodness! Wakko Ryan! Ha!"
Rachel immediately smiled as she now got it. "Point on."
Yakko then playfully tugged Wakko. "I think that's the best one you did in a while, baby bro."
Suddenly, Dot grinned. "How come you and J-Dog are back already?"
Jasper then stopped himself from laughing.
"We got done with what we were supposed to do with Intelligence. They are now getting ready to make a major bust."
"Did they find out who the saboteur was?" Yakko asked suddenly, a serious look now replacing his previous smile.
"Supposedly, yes. But then again, they're not really sure." Jasper answer.
"When does it happen?" Dot asked.
"Tonight," Rachel replied.
Wakko then looked a little shocked. "Oh."
Jasper then cleared his throat.
"We'll be leaving for Fresno tonight, so you all get yourselves prepared. It's going to be a long ride there. We're staying there until this all flys by. As if already, Fontana said that there's no need for you all to be here, just in case if things get out of hand."
Yakko then looked at his siblings and gave them a smirk. "A little vacation wouldn't hurt, would it now sibs?"
Suddenly, Wakko and Dot nodded their heads in agreement, and excitedly.
"Wait? What about the things we need to take with us?" Dot asked suddenly.
"Oh, yeah, that's right. We'll take you three by your place and get your things packed." Rachel said.
"Welp," Wakko said suddenly. "At least, we'll see Fay and Grace again."
"Of course, silly." Jasper chuckled.
"Hence the reason Fresno's our destination."
10:45 pm…
LAPD had several squads rolled out. And amongst them was the whole entire 32nd District. From the Bureau of Patrol to Major Crimes, and from them to Intelligence. And Sergeant Fontana had been the last one to roll in. He knew that arresting two executive producers was going to be no easy task. But he also knew that if they did so, they would be saving at least, a few hundred lives. The two they were after were toon killers. Harold Butler, and Kenneth Domhler. Fontana remembered earlier this morning that he and his team had given information out to every officer about Butler, Domhler, and now, Jori Cortez. Everyone within LAPD; from the newest Patrol officer, and to the highest detective all had been told, or more like, commanded to be on the lookout for these three men. And as if now, they finally had gotten a lead from Detective Sadusky, a good friend of Fontana's who had gone on to serve LAPD in the Toon Justice Unit. Fontana immediately said a quick, quiet prayer for the Warners, and that they would be out of Burbank, and Los Angeles by now. As the sixty two year old man stopped his service vehicle, he got onto his commlink and spoke into it…
"Alpha Team; permission to breach."
Suddenly, Detective Chase's voice could be heard on the other line.
"Copy that."
Fontana then spoke into his commlink again.
"Delta Team; permission to breach."
Then, Chaney's voice came through.
"Copy."
Fontana cleared his throat. Then he spoke again.
"Omicron Team; permission to breach."
"Copy Sarge." Washington's voice came through.
"David Team; permission to breach."
"Over and out." Layton's voice came through also.
Fontana cleared his throat again.
"All Units; permission to breach. Move in now."
Detective Chase had just gotten word from his immediate boss that he was just given permission to breach. He immediately cleared his throat and motioned for several Patrol officers to join up with him. Officer Lopez was amongst them, and so was Washington, Layton, and Chaney. Chaney immediately looked Chase in the eye.
"Just a suggestion here; if Lopez, Layton, and I cover the back, that should be enough for you, Washington, and our teams to move in and get them. They won't know what hit them Ricky."
Chase immediately nodded his head in approval.
"Was just about to tell you three to do just that. Now go. You have my approval."
After carefully going through the plan, Alpha, Delta, Omicron, and David Teams then moved towards an empty, abandoned house that had been rumoured to have been the "safe" house for Butler, Domhler, and Jori Cortez. As soon as Chase, and Washington made their move, Chaney, Layton, and Lopez—alongside several officers from SWAT immediately ran around back. And once they had the building surrounded, Lopez immediately contacted Chase.
"5032 Nikki. We have the perimeter surrounded. I repeat; we have the perimeter surrounded."
Chase immediately called back. "Copy that, 5032 Nikki."
The LAPD detective then gave his team the command to move in and make the arrests. Then he called Officer Lopez back.
"Move in now!"
Lopez immediately answered back. "Copy."
Then—and without warning—Chase, Washington, and their team busted down the door—but not before announcing their office.
"LAPD! Freeze! Don't make a single move, or we'll shoot back!" Washington suddenly yelled as she, and Alpha Team made their way in.
Immediately, a man with brown hair pulled out a pistol from his jacket and pointed it out at Chase, but before he could pull the trigger, a shot rang out, and immediately, he dropped the weapon and clenched his leg. Before he could do anything else, Chaney was already over him.
"Hold it! Or I shoot! LAPD!" Chaney hollered.
As he cuffed the wounded criminal, Chase and Layton came to Chaney's aid and lifted the criminal off the ground. Immediately, Lopez stared the man dead in the eye, and with a cold look.
"Harold Butler; you are under arrest for connection to a quad triple toon murder. And you're also being charged with the attempted murders of Bartholomew Cortez, Yakko Warner, and Wakko Warner, and amongst other charges. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do will be held against you in a court of law. You also have a right to an attorney. And if you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you."
As Lopez read to Butler his Miranda rights, Chase had the other teams searched the house for anything more. As Layton went towards the back door, he saw that there was an entrance that led into a basement.
"Chase!? We got something!" Layton hollered.
"Washington! You go with Detective Layton, and Omicron Team." Chase barked.
Immediately, Washington, Layton, and the other team went down and into the basement. And a moment later, shouting could be heard from within the basement.
"We got one! A toon victim!" Washington could be heard yelling from the basement.
Immediately, Chase opened the basement door wider, and a moment later, Layton could be seen coming up the steps, and with a orange and white colored fox wearing a brown Darby hat, a cyan blue colored polo shirt, and black colored shorts.
Jack Micael. Cortez's newest cast member. Heaven help us. Chase thought.
Lopez then immediately barked into her commlink for medical assistance. Whereas, Chaney and Fontana asked Butler where Kenneth Domhler, and Jori Cortez were.
"They told me to stay here. I had no idea that they were going to betray me!" Butler told Fontana.
Suddenly, Fontana wacked the toon killer in the stomach with his fist.
"Both you and I know better than that! The truth! Where are Domhler and Cortez!?" Chaney hollered.
Butler immediately looked terrified. "I'm telling you! I don't know! Okay!?"
Fontana then told Chaney to get Butler into a Patrol car. Then the Intelligence Unit Sergeant walked over to both Chase and Washington.
"Anything on the toon you found in the basement?"
Washington immediately eyed her immediate boss.
"Jack Micael. Nine years old. Fresh from Burbank. Was supposed to star alongside Yakko, Wakko, and Dot Warner in Bartholomew Cortez's film."
Fontana only nodded his head. "And is he dead?"
Chase immediately took over. "No. But we're hopeful that he'll make it Sarge."
"Good." Fontana replied.
"I want all of Los Angeles on lockdown until we have both Jori Cortez, and Kenneth Domhler in custody. No one enters, and no one leaves. We cannot, and won't let these two escape Los Angeles city limits. No buts, no ifs, and no nothings. I want these two put in custody by dawn. Copy?"
Chase, Washington, Layton, Lopez, and Chaney all nodded their heads in agreement with their immediate boss. Fontana wasn't messing around with this case at all; and Chase knew it. And as he walked out of the house, Chase mentally told himself that he didn't blame Fontana for saying what he said. Chase was in total agreement with his immediate boss.
Total agreement.
11:15 pm…
Jasper had to stop by a convenience store on his way out of town. Rachel had already taken off for Fresno with Dot. Jasper was the one to take Yakko and Wakko with him in his Cadillac Escalade. And as if currently, Yakko had gone in with Jasper. So Wakko was out in the Escalade by himself. Usually, Wakko would take shotgun when riding with Jasper, but since Yakko was with them, the middle child took the seat right behind Jasper. As for the reason why Wakko didn't go with Jasper and Yakko inside the store was because he had gotten tired. And just as he was about to drift off to sleep, Wakko was jolted awake as he heard a knock on the window of the door. He looked out of it and saw that it was just only Yakko. Wakko then laughed, mainly to himself.
"Hey, Wak? J-Dog wants to know what type of donuts you are wanting."
Wakko suddenly smiled. "Krispy Kreme donuts, and make 'em all chocolate."
Yakko suddenly smirked.
"Okay! Will tell him baby bro," he said as he ruffled Wakko's cap.
However, Yakko didn't know what was about to happen to his baby brother…
The middle child only smiled. As he watched Yakko walk back into the 76 convenience store, Wakko rolled the window up and closed his eyes. And a moment later, he heard another knock. Wakko jolted awake again and grumbled, thinking that it was Yakko again. He looked out of it and saw that a blond haired man had knocked. Wakko immediately manually locked the door. And immediately, the sound of glass breaking rang too close to Wakko's left ear. Too close. As Wakko tried to gather his thoughts, he suddenly—and without warning—felt a very strong hand collide with his face. As Wakko grunted, the man with blond hair then grabbed his head and rammed it into the back of the driver's seat. Wakko immediately rolled his eyes into the back of his head as he felt the seat buckle get undone and then, he felt the strong hand once again pull him out of Jasper's vehicle. As soon as he felt himself hit the ground, Wakko barely opened his eyes, and weakly sputtered as he tried with all his might to catch his breath. Then Wakko felt his eyes flutter as he moaned softly. The man with blond hair then immediately lifted a booted foot over Wakko. And before the puppy child knew what was happening, Wakko suddenly grunted as the man stomped on his chest. Immediately, the puppy child sputtered again. Wakko softly moaned as he felt the pressure from the man's foot sink it's way into his chest. Wakko then managed to somehow barely—and weakly—open his eyes, and when he did so, he weakly studied the face of his attacker. But before he could even get the chance to study the man a little deeper, the man immediately lifted his foot off Wakko's chest, and only to stomp on it again. Wakko suddenly rolled his eyes into the back of his head, and the last thing he felt was the man with blond hair dragging him away from the vehicle.
Away from everything, and everyone he ever loved.
Then, Wakko gave in to the black void of unconsciousness…
Hey! I warned you that some serious repercussions were about to take place! How do you all feel about this cliffhanger? Please let me know what you think of it in the reviews. Now, if you excuse me, I've got to write some more on Here and Now, as I have this feeling that a certain someone (Fanimaniac4ever1!) is gonna bash me about poor Wakko in the reviews! Until then…
G'night everybody!
and…
God bless all this Christmas!
Sincerely,
JalcoFox.
