Pokemon406: I don't wanna spoil that much of the rewrite in this so here's the disclaimer.

Shizuko groaned in annoyance as he was awoken from his sleep by sunlight from a nearby window hitting him in the face. He sat up and slowly opened his eyes to find he wasn't in his bedroom but in someone's attic bedroom. He was a little confused before he recalled yesterday's events.
He looked down at his hands to see blue-furred paws.
"So, we really did become pokemon."He thought in wonder as he stared at his paws."I can't believe I became the baby evolution of one of my favorite pokemon!"He felt something moving behind him and turned to see his new tail wagging in excitement. He smiled at the sight then yelped at his tail hitting him in the face. He frowned at this and tried to grab it only for it to move away from his grasp. He growled and lunged for his tail only to miss. He began chasing his tail for a while before he realized what he was doing and stopped.
"Okay, so I've got some things to get used to."He thought with half-open eyes then got off the bed and walked over to the window. He looked out of it to see a few pokemon were out and about. He noticed some pokemon wore clothes while others didn't. He made a mental note to ask Kitsune about this. He then finally realized that he has been nude this whole time and felt a little self-conscious about it. To take his mind off this little issue, he decided to think about his and Nate's current situation.
"Kitsune is letting us stay in her attic but I don't know for how long. If we're going to find a way back home, we need to learn more about this world."He thought with a thoughtful expression. He would spend the next couple of hours thinking of questions to ask Kitsune. He didn't think she would be able to answer all his questions but it was better safe than sorry.
Soon, Kitsune arrived at the cafe and she didn't come alone, Fuji was with her. She had him cook breakfast for them much to Nate's delight. After they finished eating, Shizuko spoke to her.
"Kitsune, got a moment?"She turned to him and nodded."Since Nate and I are new to this place, I was hoping you could answer a few questions of mine about this place."
"I would be happy to, but I gotta patrol the forest again,"He seemed disappointed to hear that. She noticed this and added."However, you can ask Amber these questions. She should be here in a little while."She told him and then left the two of them alone in the dining area.
"So, what were you gonna ask?"Nate asked him.
Shizuko looked at his friend and replied."You know things like what the currency is, what time of year it is, why some wear clothes but others don't, stuff like that."
"Is asking where to get something to eat a good question?"Nate queried to him.
The Riolu opened his mouth to argue but then closed it to contemplate his question for a moment."Yes, actually."He said, making his friend smile.
Shizuko continued to chat with Nate for a while until Amber finally arrived at the cafe. She was wearing her uniform but also wore a satchel over her right shoulder. She began making her way to a section of the cafe, not noticing the Riolu and Pikachu approaching her.
"Good morning, Amber!"Nate greeted her, startling the fox pokemon.
She stopped and turned to them."Oh, good morning you two! Did you two sleep well?"She asked them.
"Like a baby!"He replied, smiling.
"Yeah, a loud snoring baby,"Shizuko muttered in annoyance, finding it hard to fall asleep last night due to the Pikachu's snoring.
"Happy to hear that,"She said then began walking again but stopped this time by Shizuko.
"Wait! I wanted to ask Kitsune some questions but she said was busy. So, she told me that you could answer them instead."He told her.
"Sure! Just give me a minute to put my stuff away."She responded then walked away and disappeared through a hallway.
Sometime later, the three pokemon were sitting together at a table."Alright, ask away."She told the two of them.
Shizuko opened his mouth to speak but Nate spoke first."Where can we get something to eat?"
"Hmm, besides here, you can go to Rose's Berry Shop or Little Joey's for food."She answered.
"Is the food in those places good?"He questioned her.
She nodded in response."I hear that the berries from Rose's shop are quite good and the pizza from Little Joey's is-"She gets cut off by Nate.
"They have pizza here?!"He exclaimed in surprise.
"Yeah. Why?"She asked him, but he didn't respond because he started to fantasize about the potential pizzas he could eat at Little Joey's.
Shizuko shook his head at this, he had a feeling he knew what his friend was thinking about. Deciding now would be the best opportunity to get his questions answered, He turned to Amber and asked."What's the currency here?"Shizuko asked.
She looked confused by this."What do you mean? Is the currency where you're from not the same as over here?"He nodded in response."Well, the currency we use over here is Poke."She told him.
"Could you show me what they look like?"He queried in an interested tone.
"Sure,"She then got up from the table and went over to the cash register. She got some money out of it before coming back to the table. She placed a wide assortment of coins on the table and continued."These are poke, each one is worth something."She pointed to a bronze coin with an imprint of Magikarp on it.
"This is a Magikarp coin. These are extremely common and are worth one poke."She moved on to a tan coin with an imprint of a Meowth."This is a Meowth coin. They are worth five poke."The next coin was purple and had an imprint of a Gengar on it."This is a Gengar coin. They are worth ten poke."The coin that came next was pink and had an imprint of a Clefairy."This is a Clefairy coin. They are worth twenty-five poke."She proceeded to the next coin which was yellow and had an imprint of a Pikachu on it.
"This is a Pikachu coin. They are worth one-hundred poke."She moved on to the next coin which was brown and had an imprint of an Eevee on it."This is an Eevee coin and my personal favorite. They are worth five-hundred poke."The next coin was a blue coin with an imprint of a Greninja on it."This is a Greninja coin. They are worth ten-thousand poke."The coin after that one was dark blue and had an imprint of a Lucario on it."This is a Lucario coin. They are worth two-thousand poke."She moved on to the last coin which was orange and had an imprint of a Charizard on it.''This a Charizard coin. It is the second most valuable and is worth five-thousand poke."She finished explaining to him.
"Hmm, this currency system seems familiar."Shizuko thought as he took a bit of time to regard the info he was just told. He then realized she left out one detail and asked her."What's the last coin look like and value?"
Amber blinked at this then sheepishly told him."Oh! You don't need to know about that one. Most mon don't see it that often unless as prizes from events or competitions."The Riolu looked intrigued by this but didn't press any further.
"What time of year is it?"
"Spring. Why do you ask?"She inquired in response.
"Just curious,"He answered while inwardly thinking."If this world has a spring then that means it also has a summer, fall, and winter."
He thought for a moment about what question he should ask next then asked her."Why do some Pokemon wear clothes while others don't?"
"Yeah, I'm kind of curious about that too?"Nate questioned, having finally come back to reality.
"Well, that question has a mixed amount of answers,"She paused for a bit to think of her response."It's a matter of preference, some mon like wearing clothes and some don't. There are places that force you to wear clothes like certain jobs, parties, or events but that's it. It's your choice if you wanna wear clothes or not."She explained to them.
Shizuko didn't know how to feel after hearing this. On one hand, he felt disturbed and weirded out that some chose to walk around in public nake but on the other hand, he could understand. They grew up in a society where wearing clothing is a choice while he grew up in one where it's frowned upon to go out in public with no clothes on.
Nate meanwhile wasn't disturbed by this in the slightest. The reason for this is because he was the type of guy that goes with the flow. If they wanted to go in public in the bluff then that would be fine by him.
"So, do you wear clothes or not?"Nate asked her much to his friend's shock.
"Nathan!"
"What, I'm curious."He said, not seeing anything wrong with the question.
Amber giggled."It's alright, I don't mind. To answer your question Nate, I don't wear clothes usually but will if I have to."
"Do you know of a place near here that sells clothes?"Shizuko inquired.
She nodded."Yeah, Silk's Tailor Shop for clothes."
"Where is it and what does it look like?"
"It's not too far from here and a brown and green building."She replied.
"Are they open right now?"She nodded in response."Great! Let's go Nate."Shizuko said, getting up to leave.
"Go where?"Nate responded.
"Outside to explore the town."He answered back.
The Pikachu's eyes widened."Finally! I thought we were gonna stay inside all day!"He exclaimed, his tail wagging excitedly. Without wasting time, he got out of his seat and dashed out the front entrance. His friend shook his head at this while Amber laughed a little.
"He seems eager."She said, turning to the only other occupant in the room.
"Yeah…"He looked to the side before looking back at her."See you later."He told her as he got up out of his seat.
"See you later,"She replied to him as he made his way out the door.

When the Riolu stepped out of the cafe, he found his friend not too far from him on his right, tapping his foot impatiently.
"Took you long enough,"Nate said to him and he rolled his eyes in response.
The two friends then looked around for a bit until they found some unique buildings. A light green and purple building with the words Kecleon Shop on the top with two Kecleon heads, one green and one purple, on both sides. A light brown, yellow, and black building with the words Kangaskhan Storage on the top with a Kangaskhan head on the top.
A brown and green building with the words Silk's Tailor Shop on the top. A tan and green building and had the words Rosemary's Berry Shop on the top. A red and white building that looked like a library. An orange and white that had the words Little Joey's on the top. Finally, a beige-colored building that looked like a bank with the words Persian's Bank on the top.
Shizuko decided to let his friend choose where they go first, so he glanced at him and asked."So, Nate, where do you wanna go first?"
The Pikachu looked over the various building for a couple of moments with a thoughtful expression then told him."Let's go check out that building that says Kecleon Shop."Shizuko nodded in agreement before the two made their way over to the building.
They entered a spacious room with brown-painted wooden flooring. Nailed to the wall were wooden shelves that held various items on them with a price right underneath. Across the room from them was a price counter with a bell and cash register. Sitting behind the deck reading a magazine was a bipedal lizard-like Pokemon. They had orange skin and thin arms. They had oval, wide-set eyes with small pupils and black eyelids. On their head was a red crest that looked similar to a mohawk. Lastly, it had baggy yellow skin hanging off its shoulders, falling halfway down its back. It also wore a vest with a small image of a Kecleon on the right side.
"A Scrafty?!"Shizuko thought in surprise at seeing the fighting/dark-type pokemon while Nate looked unfazed. Having played the mystery dungeon games, he was expecting to see Kecleon.
He made his way over to Scrafty, intent on asking the mon some questions, meanwhile, Nate began browsing the shop's selection of items.
"What do you want?"The Scrafty asked him in a disinterested tone, not looking away from the magazine. Their voice sounded feminine suggesting that they were female.
"Well, miss…"Shizuko began.
"Vanessa."
"Vanessa, is it alright if I ask you some questions about your shop?"He asked her.
She didn't say anything in response and turned a page in her magazine. Shizuko didn't know if that meant yes or no but decided to begin asking her stuff anyway.
"What do you sell here?"
"We sell apples, berries, potions, ethers, and other stuff."She answered him.
"So, the items they sell here are the same as in the mystery dungeon along with potions from the main games."He thought, after being told this."And the other stuff is probably wonder orbs and TMs."
"How much does an oran berry cost?"He asked her in a curious tone.
"Go look at one of the shelves."She told him.
He frowned in response but did as she said and turned to look at the selection of items until he found the item. He glanced down at the price to see it was."Three-hundred poke. I think in the games it was less than that."He then looked at how much an apple cost and saw it was six-hundred poke. He looked at the rest of the items to see it was the same thing for them."So, it seems like everything cost more than they do in the game."He was gonna think more about this when his thoughts were cut off by familiar voice shouting.
"Bah! This tastes nasty!"He looked towards the owner of the voice to see his friend looking at the apple in his hands with a look of disgust.
"Sir, please do not eat the displays. Those cost money to replace."Vanesa said to the Pikachu, lazily glancing at him.
"Sorry. It smelled funny so I wanted to try it."He told her and she rolled her eyes in response.
"Do you two plan on buying anything or are you just gonna loiter around here for the next hour?"
"Probably the second thing,"Nate replied to her with a cheeky smile, causing her to sigh.
"No, no we're leaving. Come on, Nate, we have other places to be."Shizuko said as began to leave. Nate gave him a look before shrugging and following his lead.

"So, where are we going next?"Nate asked Shizuko once they were outside the shop.
"Well, you know I asked Amber about that clothes store right?"Shizuko asked his friend and he nodded in response then realized what he was suggesting.
"You wanna go look at some clothes? Why?!"The Pikachu asked in a whiny tone.
"I wanna look at what they have, so I know what to get when I have money."The Riolu answered him and then added, leaning in to whisper in his ear."Do you really wanna go everywhere nude?"
"Yes!"Nate responded to him.
"All the time?"Shizuko questioned him, giving him a skeptical expression.
"...Okay, maybe not all the time."He admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head."So, where is that clothes store at again?"
"Amber said it wasn't far, so we just have look around for a bit,"Shizuko told him and he nodded before they searched until they found the building. The two went into the building, triggering a bell attached to the door to ring and alerting the building's inhabitants to their arrival.
"I'll be there in a minute!"A mature feminine voice shouted from somewhere in the shop.
Since it would take some time for the owner of the voice to arrive, Shizuko and Nate took a moment to look at their surroundings. The walls were beige colored and the floor was carpeted and leaf green. To their right, there were brown bookcases filled with fabric along with a full-body mirror. A brown desk with a chair behind it and a cash register on it. Near it was a lounge area consisting of a three-cushion couch and a table with magazines on it. Mannequins of different body types either wearing clothes or nude were spread across the room. To their left was a staircase leading to somewhere upstairs.
Shizuko and Nate each went to do their own thing, the Emanation Pokemom going to look at the mannequins while the Mouse Pokemon went to look at what was in the magazines. Shizuko walked up to inspect a mannequin that was of a quadrupedal build wearing a long-sleeved purple jacket, white button shirt, purple short skirt, and purple hat. He smiled at how silly this looked.
"This looks like something someone would put on their dog or cat."He thought then imagined a four-legged Pokemon wearing the outfit, in this case, Amber."She doesn't look that bad actually."
He looked at a different mannequin, this one seemed to be a round object with legs. It wore a top hat, a small fancy tuxedo, and shoes. This time Shizuko couldn't help but snicker at how ridiculous the outfit looked."It looks like someone dressed up a bowling ball with legs."He then thought of someone wearing the outfit and eventually thought of a Poliwag."Nope, still looks silly."
He then turned his attention to another mannequin, this one of a bipedal build. On the mannequin was a long-sleeved brown leather jacket, tan shirt, brown pants, brown shoes, and a brown fedora."This one looks pretty good but I can't help but feel like I've seen it from somewhere before."He thought about why it was familiar for a bit then shrugged and imagined someone wearing the outfit, this time picturing himself."I don't look too bad in this."He thought, his tail wagging in joy.
Before he could inspect any more of the mannequins, his attention was pulled when he heard the voice from earlier again."See something you like dear?"He turned to the voice to see a thin, yellow, bipedal insectoid Pokemon not too far from him, giving him a friendly smile.
They had a broad, split-leaf around their large, round head and it has long antennae that end in semicircles. Their eyes were red with no apparent sclera. Their thorax was tiny and dark green. Their abdomen was long, yellow and covered in a green leaf. Their hands were long and leaf-like with a "bite" taken out of each. Their upper arms were also leaf-like, but with a vein of yellow at the top. Finally, they had thin legs that were yellow with dark green, thick segments around their upper legs, making them appear armored.
"Maybe,"He gave a sideway glance at the outfit on the bipedal mannequin."Are you the owner of this place?"
"Why yes, I am! My name is Silk! May I ask what is yours and how can I help today?"She asked joyfully.
"My name is Shizuko. My friend and I are new in town and we heard there was a place we could get some clothes. We don't have any money at the moment but we-well I wanted to see what you have here."He told her.
"Well, in this case, do you have questions for me?"
He considered what he wanted to ask for a moment before replying."How much would it cost to get some pants made?"
"It depends on the mon but I normally charge twenty hundred poke.''Silk answered and his eyes widened a little at the price.
"Shirt?"
"Fifteen hundred poke."
"Shoes?"
"Twenty hundred poke."
"So, together that would be fifty-five hundred poke. There's two of us so that would actually be eleven thousand."He groaned at this."And I don't even wanna think about how much it would cost to make several pairs of clothes."
"Is something the matter?"She asked, noticing his displeasure.
"No, no nothing's wrong. Thank you for answering my questions, Silk. Next time we come here, we'll hopefully have money,"He told her then turned to Nate."Nate, we're leaving."He said as he began making his way to the exit.
"We are? Great!"Nate said happily before placing the magazine he was reading on the table and then following his friend.
"Goodbye! Hope to see two again soon!"Silk told the two as they exited her shop.

"So, now what do we do?"
Shizuko brought a paw to his chin in thought as he considered their options. They could go to Rose's Berry Shop or Little Joey's, but they didn't have any money to buy anything, so there was no point in going to those places at the moment. They could go to the library for info about this world but he wanted to wait a bit before going there. He looked at his paw and an idea came to mind of what to do next.
"I know what we can do next?"Shizuko said.
"What?"The Riolu came over and whispered something into the Mouse Pokemon's ear. His eyes widened after what he was told."Let's do that! But why did you whisper that to me?"He questioned him.
"Because I don't wanna attract unwanted attention."The Riolu explained.
"But won't you get it anyway by whispering?"Nate argued back.
Shizuko blinked at this then gave him an annoyed expression before telling him."Just follow me,"
The two left town and walked for some time until they found a good spot away from town and the forest the Dungeon Pokemon were coming from.
"So, how do we use attacks?"Nate asked him.
"Honestly, no clue,"He answered then continued."But I might have an idea. Remember when you got really excited and were able to use electricity?"The Pikachu nodded in response while wondering where he was going with this.
"Yeah?"
"Well, how about you get really excited again and try to control it to…"Shizuko looked around for a moment until he settled on one of the nearby trees."...hit that tree."He suggested to him.
The Pikachu nodded and then thought about something that makes him really happy. It didn't take long and soon his cheeks began sparking with static. Shizuko noticed this and quickly put distance between himself and the rodent just in time to avoid getting hit by lightning. The Riolu watched as his friend tried his best to control his electric powers only to succeed in having his lightning go in all directions. He wanted to say something to help him with this but didn't know what to say, so he decided to focus on himself.
He thought about using the same method as Nate to use his powers but decided against it, figuring it wouldn't work for him. He also considered the fact that Riolu and Pikachu were different types and had different moves. Nate was likely using Thundershock naturally because he was an electric type. So, if he wanted to try using his powers he should try using a fighting-type move Riolu know. He didn't know every fighting type Riolu knows but the ones that quickly came to mind were Counter and Force Palm. Counter required someone to attack him physically so he was left with Force Palm. However, the problem was how could he do it.
"Maybe if I focus some imaginary energy coming out through my paw."He thought, knowing the method works for some characters in media. With little options, he went over to a tree and placed his paw against it then closed his eyes and concentrated.
For a while, nothing happened and he considered stopping to try something else when he suddenly felt something flow through his extended paw for a moment before expelling outward. He opened his eyes and removed his paw to see there was now a deep imprint of his paw in the tree.
"I..I did it."He muttered to himself in a tone of disbelief. Slowly, a huge smile spread across his face and his tail began to wag in joy."I did it!"He yelled, proud of his accomplishment but then stopped to notice he felt a little tired. He wasn't surprised by this because it would make sense for a move to require energy from the person to use. He then continued to use Force Palm to get better at using it while Nate continued trying to aim with Thundershock. Unknown to the two, someone was watching them from not too far away in the forest.
"Interesting,"The figure thought as they continued to observe the two Pokemon train.

Pokemon406: This chapter was focused on world-building and I hope I did a good job on that.
Pokemon406: Now, to explain a couple of things. The currency is based on the US but doesn't have the decimal and is fully coin-based.
Pokemon406: With Kecleon Shop, I'm sure you all are wondering why I added potions when they aren't in PMD. Not to mention, why do the items cost more than in the games?
Hikari: Yeah, why did you do that?
Pokemon406: That's because I'm going to have it where oran and sitrus berries aren't as effective like in PMD. As for why stuff costs more, well I figured they cost a little more if they weren't in a video game setting.
Pokemon406: There is nudity in this but not I'm doing any nsfw stuff or going to type paragraphs describing a Mudsdale's balls or something like that. It's just something that's just there.
Pokemon406: That's about it. Pokemon406 signing out(Salutes at camera then disappears using Instant Transmission.)
