Jr. yawned. "Dad, can we stop for the night? I'm tired." he said.

"Rodan, how much farther?" Godzilla asked.

Rodan flew above the skyline and looked towards their destination. "Not that much farther. Maybe two or three miles." he reported.

"We'll keep walking until we reach Beijing, then we'll rest for the night. Promise." Godzilla told Jr.

So the team continued their trek until they arrived at the major city in China, then settled down on its forested outskirts. Jr. was too tired to get excited over all the landmarks he would get to see later, he simply curled up next to Minya and fell asleep. Mothra settled down next to Godzilla and cuddled up close to him before falling asleep herself, taking the kaiju king by surprise. He turned to Anguirus, but his best friend was already out. Godzilla sighed with relief, grateful to be spared Anguirus' teasing about his and Mothra's "love," for once, then laid his head down, slightly nuzzling the moth's as he did.

The team woke to a beautiful morning in Beijing. If they weren't on an important mission to save Earth, they would've spent the day exploring and spending time with the humans, but they had a relic to obtain. "Alright, let's ask around. See if anyone knows about the Relic of Perseverance." Godzilla said. The kaiju got to work, asking the humans for information. After just a few minutes, Jr. called the adult kaiju over to Jingshan Park, where two young girls were waiting.

"Hello, everyone." one of them greeted. "My name is Li Na. This is my sister, Mei Zhen. Minya and Godzilla Jr. told us that you're looking for the Relic of Perseverance."

"We are." Mothra said. "We need it to save the world from King Ghidorah. Do you know how we can obtain it?"

"Yes. The Relic of Perseverance will appear before the one to show unyielding persistence and never give up, even when the situation looks bleak."

"Oh, Godzilla!"

Just as the voice loudly rang out, a massive golden figure flew past the team in the sky. They all turned to see King Ghidorah flying across Beijing before landing at the Old Summer Palace. "I bet you were all waiting for me to show up, and here I am! Now come at me, pathetic Earth kaiju!"

"Well, it's about damn time he showed up!" Anguirus said.

"Couldn't have said it better myself." said Godzilla. "Minya, hand us the Relics. We need them to defeat Ghidorah."

"But we don't have all six of them yet." Minya said. "The legend says all of them are needed to save the world."

"That's correct." Mothra said, looking troubled. "Could it be that Ghidorah's not the impending evil after all? If not him, then who?"

"We'll find out after we beat him." Godzilla said. "Let's try fighting him without the Relics, then Minya will bring them to us if we need them. Okay, son?"

"Yeah. Dad. I'll be ready."

"That's my boy. Alright, team, move out to battle!"

The team stood before their extraterrestrial foe, at last. King Ghidorah's three heads grinned at the heroic kaiju devilishly. "It's been a long time, hasn't it? I've forgotten how much time had passed since...ah, what happened again...? Oh, yes, since your king defeated me in Tokyo and blasted me into that void in space. Fortunately, I was able to find a loophole and escape, but I decided to be generous and give you a few warm-up rounds to prepare for me."

"And if you can't tell, we kicked all their asses." Anguirus said.

"To my bitter disappointment." King Ghidorah said. "No matter. I've returned for a rematch, and this time, Godzilla, you won't defeat me, not even with the help of your puny little friends."

"My 'puny little friends' have helped me through countless difficulties and obstacles." Godzilla said. "We got through all of them together, and now we'll save the world from you together."

King Ghidorah simply smiled and said, "I'm going to enjoy this." before the decisive battle began.

Rodan, Mothra, and Jet Jaguar each flew in towards one of King Ghidorah's heads. The pterodactyl kaiju battered the middle head with flames, the divine moth shot laser beams from her antennae at the left, and the robot fired his missiles and arm beams at the right. King Ghidorah's middle and left heads each grabbed Rodan and Mothra's wings with their teeth and threw them aside, then shot them with his gravity beams, visibly injuring them both.

"Rodan! Mothra!" Jet Jaguar cried. While he was distracted, King Ghidorah bit down hard on his left arm, penetrating his metal hide. Jet Jaguar grew bigger and successfully pried the hydra's jaws off of him, but now had a deep puncture wound on his arm.

"Godzilla, gimme a boost!" Anguirus called. Godzilla picked up his best friend and threw him, and Anguirus curled into a ball and slammed into King Ghidorah at high speed, toppling him and sending him crashing to the ground. But the space hydra wasn't done yet.

Godzilla fired an atomic beam at King Caesar's gem, and the shisa shot the projectile he had absorbed, along with a second blast from Godzilla, at King Ghidorah, which he countered with his gravity beams, setting off an explosion. King Ghidorah stood up as the smoke cleared, only for Anguirus to charge up to him and bite into his left neck. Rodan flew up and clawed at the hydra's free heads. Soon, everyone else joined in, attacking King Ghidorah and restraining him so he couldn't fight back.

But then the hydra shook Anguirus off of his neck and unleashed a powerful wave of gravity beams that sent everyone flying away from him. The heroic kaiju landed hard, all of them looking visibly hurt from the lightning. King Ghidorah moved in on the downed Godzilla.

"No, Dad!" Minya exclaimed. He handed Jr. the bag containing the relics and rushed forward. He stomped on his tail, and the shock made his eyes and underdeveloped dorsal fins light up before he shot a powerful atomic beam from his mouth. The blast hit King Ghidorah dead-on and sent him to the ground again.

"Good going, son." Godzilla wearily called to Minya as he stood up.

King Ghidorah had gotten up as well, only for King Caesar to appear before him and grab his heads, tightly locking them in his grip. "You can beat, maim, and shoot all the lightning you want at us," the shisa said, "but we won't give up until the earth's safety is secured. Mothra!"

Mothra fired her antennae beams at King Caesar's forehead gem, which he proceeded to blast King Ghidorah with at point blank range. The space hydra attempted to fire his gravity beams at King Caesar, but was stopped as Mothra covered his faces in silk, then used it to glue his feet to the ground, trapping him.

"Okay! Everyone, together!" The kaiju with projectiles formed a line in front of their enemy-along with Minya-while those who lacked one approached him from the back. And on their king's mark, they each attacked King Ghidorah with all their might, striking him with blasts of energy or landing powerful blows. Once again, the hydra crashed to the ground, but this time, he didn't get back up.

"We did it! We won!" Godzilla declared. He and his party briefly celebrated before the Temple of Heaven lit up in a silver glow. A tiny object emerged from it and flew up to King Caesar, and he and his teammates saw that it was a flat piece of silver gems in the shape of a sword.

"The Relic of Perseverance." the shisa said.

"It appeared before you for directly standing up to Ghidorah, I'm sure." Godzilla said. "You refused to give up no matter what, just like the rest of us."

"Honestly, I think we all had a part to play in summoning the relic." Jet Jaguar said, to which everyone agreed.

But after the Relic hid itself away in the silk bag Minya had retrieved from Jr., the team exchanged looks of confusion.

"We've only got five relics." Anguirus said. "I guess that means Ghidorah wasn't the ultimate evil, then."

"But if it wasn't Ghidorah, then who is it?" Rodan asked.

Suddenly, a deafening laugh rang out all around the team, more demonic and evil-sounding than King Ghidorah's crackles. Tendrils of purple vapor rose up from the ground, which violently shook as something massive emerged from it. A hulking red figure with demon-like wings, a long orange horn, and an orange floral mark on his chest. His menacing face carried deadly pleasure as his yellow eyes focused on Godzilla and his team, who stared back at him with disbelief and horror.

"Godzilla," he said in his demonic voice, "we meet at last." The kaiju king finally spoke after his initial shock, which had now turned to anger.

"Destoroyah."
