Sorry for being late to posting this, but here it is.
"Hah… I'm so tired…"
It's been a nerve-wracking day. I'm exiting the school on the main path when I suddenly felt a hand tapping on my shoulder.
"Huh? Hey there Iida."
"Are you alright Midoriya?"
"Eh, what do you mean?"
"Well, mister Aizawa said something about you having no control over your quirk this morning…"
Geh. Stop bringing this up.
"And I was wondering if I could somehow aid you with gaining back a hold over your quirk. As fellow classmates, we must help each other to get back on our feet."
What do I say!
"There's nothing you can do, really. Don't worry, I'll recover soon with practice."
Iida redressed his glasses and gave a thumbs up; "That's wonderful!"
It worked. We keep walking towards the school gates.
"You know, I was a bit concerned about mister Aizawa's approach to class, but I trust the school's judgement: UA is the top program. Even so, lying is downright immoral."
"Yeah, I thought he was scary, but that's not it. He's just very serious about the school."
"That's a good observation. I, as well, think he's-"
"Hey! Wait up, you two! Are you going to the station? I'll join you guys!"
Iida was interrupted by the bubbly girl running up to us.
"Oh, you're the infinity girl. Ochako Uraraka if I remember correctly." Iida remarked.
She nodded with a wide smile "That's right."
"I'm not the best at remembering names, but it is my duty to know my classmates and get along with everyone, so I shall commit to it fully." Iida declared, clenching his fists in determination.
"Oh, I know! We should exchange phone numbers!" The cheerful girl exclaimed.
"An excellent idea!" Iida responded.
They exchanged numbers while I was searching through my bag for 'my phone'.
Finally finding it, I open it and…
"Is there something wrong, Midoriya? You look struck." Iida sounded concerned.
You have to be kidding me…
"… I can't actually open my phone because I… Forgot my password." I smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of my neck.
Strangely, Iida didn't seem too perturbed. For some reason, he even appeared understanding.
"Oh, I see. That's unfortunate, but I believe we'll have plenty opportunities to exchange numbers in the future. Perhaps we should create a group chat for the whole class."
"That'd be a great idea!" Uraraka chimed in.
"Indeed. It is important that we make sure no one is left out."
No comment. Whatever ideas those two have – it's not going to work. There's no way they're ever getting more than half the class to join.
We walked up to the train station, where I left off Iida and Uraraka.
"See ya!" I waved to them.
"BYE!" Ochako replied with the same energy as before.
"It was a pleasure getting to know you Midoriya. I look forward to-"
The doors closed, bringing an abrupt end to Iida's parting words.
There was no need for me to take the train with Iida and Uraraka when I had no idea where my home was. Of course, I told them my parents planned to pick me up at the station today so that they wouldn't have to worry.
I did not say this for no reason. I had a plan; my parents are certainly going to get worried if I don't come back home. Since I can't open my phone, I'll bait them into calling me to know what's going on and I'll tell them I forgot my seasonal pass for the train. I know Midoriya takes the train because he has a pass in his bag.
*Ring*
I perk up and check the phone. I'm getting a call from 'Mom'.
That was fast. Didn't even have to wait. Is she that worried?
I answer the phone: "Hey-"
"IZUKU DEAR THANK GOODNESS YOU ARE STILL ALIVE! I WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU! CRIED THREE TIMES TODAY!"
Huh… What am supposed to say to that?
"Hey mom… There's a problem…"
"WHAT'S THAT? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU? ARE YOU HURT? LET ME CALL AN AMBULANCE RIGHT NOW!"
"Nononono, mom, calm down. I'm not hurt."
"BUT THEN WERE YOU BULLIED. I KNEW SENDING YOU TO UA WAS DANGEROUS!"
This woman is getting on my nerves. Can she stop being like that?
"Hear me out, please." Her sobbing faded and I heard silence on the other side. Good, she's letting speak. "I forgot my train pass and have no money to get back home."
"Oh, I'm fortunate it's just that. Wait at the station, Izuku, I'll be there in about twenty minutes. Also, make sure to not talk to strangers."
"Sounds good. Thanks, mom."
And with that, I survived my first day in an unknown school, in a location with people I don't know while impersonating a boy I've certainly never seen.
