Marco gave a breath, moving a hand to Ace's head, threading through his hair. Ace was asleep on the couch, head in his lap. It was still early, them being woken by a truck that crashed outside and made some noise. He was tired himself, but didn't want to go back to sleep, even though it was just 6 in the morning. He moved his hand on Ace's head, glad he at least was asleep.

The last week had been a bit tough, after everything that happened with him throwing out that comment and then Ace being gone for a bit, before he finally came back, and then they had that talk together. Marco needed to prove to Ace that he trusted him, which he did. He was just mad at the moment, which wasn't a good excuse, it wasn't an excuse at all. It was all his fault, he did wrong. When they had been with the others, he had asked for tips, as he wasn't entirely sure what to do. They had some tips, but nothing he couldn't think of himself. It was just 'be honest', 'be helpful', 'honor your words', and things like that. It would probably work, he just needed to do them and would do his best. He really liked Ace, and wanted this to last.

He sat and watched TV for a while, and when the clock was 8am, he moved his hand to Ace's back and stroked it a bit as he moved, making Ace give a breath as he woke. "Hey," Started Marco. "It's 8 now, yoi." Ace had said he wanted to be woken at 8 if he fell asleep. Ace nodded as he sat up. "Okay." He then gave a yawn, and Marco moved a hand to his leg. "Still tired?" Ace nodded. "Yeah, but it'll probably pass." It probably would. At least he hoped so. The rest of the day went by okay, but as evening came, Ace started to cough and sneeze a bit, before he said his head was hurting, which had him move his hand to his forehead. "You're a bit warm, yoi." Ace sniffed. "Maybe, I feel a bit under the weather." Marco frowned a bit. "Maybe you're coming down with something, yoi." Ace sighed. "I hope not. I don't want to be sick." Well, he got that. "Maybe it will pass." He really hoped so.

The evening then went by okay, Ace still sneezing and coughing, and when the next day came, which was Sunday, Ace said he felt horrible, which had him move his hand to his forehead again. "You're warmer now, yoi. You're sick." Ace sighed. "Maybe I'll be well tomorrow." Marco frowned a bit. "I don't think so. Those who are sick now are really sick and out for days, yoi." Ace sighed. "I know, we have 3 sick people at work." Marco nodded, it was the time to be sick now, everyone was sick now. Although, Marco had to say he hadn't been sick in years, he didn't know why, but he hadn't. They spent the rest of the day in a calm fashion, him hoping Ace would feel better, but he only felt worse and worse as the day went by, and by 5pm, he had a high fever, stuffy nose, and clammy. Ace would be sick for a bit now most likely, but it would hopefully go over fast.

When the clock was 7pm and they had just eaten, Marco moved to try and kiss Ace, wbut he moved away from it, and Ace sniffled. "My nose is too stuffed to love you." Marco gave a chuckle. "Is that how it works, yoi?" Ace nodded. "Yeh." Marco chuckled again. Ace was cute like this. Marco did lean in for a kiss and kissed Ace on the cheek while Ace gave another sniffle. Ace gave a breath. "Imma lay down." Marco nodded. "Sounds smart, yoi. Yell or send a message if you need anything." Ace nodded as he walked up the stairs. "I will." Marco gave a small chuckle, before he went to the couch and sat down, setting on a show on Netflix.

As he was watching and had for a bit, he heard some running upstairs, which had him frown and headed up to find Ace bent over the toilet, throwing up. He gave a sigh and walked over, moving a hand to his back and stroking it, helping Ace through it. Ace heaved for a bit, before more bile came up, and it lasted for a couple minutes, before Ace seemed finished, and Marco gave a concerned look to Ace. "You okay?" Ace nodded as he leaned back. "Y-yeah." Ace then got back and moved a hand to his head, probably a bit dizzy too. Marco moved his hand to Ace's forehead and frowned. "You're really warm, yoi." Ace nodded. "I feel warm too." Ace then went back to bed for now, and Marco joined Ace after a bit, and Ace was asleep then. Then the next days came and Ace was sick for them.

After a few days, Marco sighed and took up his phone and dialed Trevor, who answered after some rings. "Marco, anything up?" Marco sighed. "Ace is sick, so we won't be coming tomorrow." He heard a small hum from the other end. "Is it bad?" Marco gave a breath. "He has a high fever, is throwing up, and just generally sick." He heard a breath from the other end. "I see. The others might call him though, they like him." That had Marco smile, glad about that. "Good good, yoi. We'll speak later." "Yeah, we will. Give my wishes to Ace." Answered Trevor, before they hung up and he headed up to Ace, sitting down on the bed. "I told Trevor we won't be coming tomorrow, since you're sick, yoi. But he said the others might call you." Ace nodded. "Sounds good." Marco moved his hand to Ace's leg. "How do you feel?" Ace sighed. "Shitty." Marco gave a small smile. "I hope you feel better soon." Ace nodded. "I do too. I feel absolutely shitty." Marco chuckled. "But you look as pretty as day one." Ace gave a small look to him. "I do not." Marco nodded. "No, you do, yoi." Marco leaned in for a kiss. "I love you." Ace gave a small chuckle. "You're going to get sick." Marco chuckled. "Even if I do, it would be worth it, yoi." Ace gave a chuckle. "I don't want you to be sick though." Marco hummed. "If it happens, it happens, yoi."

Ace then gave a breath and stood up. "Imma go lie down again." Marco nodded. "Sure, hope you feel better soon, yoi." Ace nodded and headed up, and Marco really hoped Ace would be better soon. Ace had already laid down earlier, but it was only 1pm and Ace hadn't had the best night of sleep either. He did stay by Ace's side when he could when Ace was awake and not relaxing, and Ace seemed to like it. When they were supposed to be at Trevor's the others did call Ace and they had a nice conversation it seemed like. And when Friday came, Ace started to get better, which was good. And by Sunday, Ace was well again, which he looked glad by himself, not feeling awful anymore.

The next 2 days went by fine, and when Tuesday did come Marco sat at work, working, just some paperwork, when his phone rang, and he moved it up to his ear. "Marco Fishback." He heard a sigh on the other end. "Mr Fishback, I'm sorry to interrupt your work, but your boyfriend, Ace D Portgas, has been in an accident." Marco felt his breath stop. Ace had been in an accident? "How bad is it, yoi?" He heard another sigh. "I'm sorry, but I can't say. He is at Bay's Memorial, building 3, 4th floor." Marco nodded. "I'll be there as soon as I can, yoi." He heard some shuffling on the other end. "Good, I'll speak to you then." Then the woman hung up and Marco moved out to his car, sending a message to Pops that he would leave early, that Ace had been in an accident. He got a message back that it was fine, and to update him when he had more information.

He then rushed to the hospital and found the 3rd building, and saw the 4th floor was the orthopedics. He then rushed up and spoke to someone in a reception, and found out Ace was in room 3 and headed there. When he opened the door to the room, he saw Ace in a bed, who looked up when he came in and gave a sigh. "I told them not to make you come." Marco shook his head as he made his way over. "I needed to come, yoi. How are you? What happened?" Ace gave a smile. "I broke my leg! I've never broken anything before!" Marco chuckled, glad Ace was in a good mood. "But what happened, yoi?" Ace sighed. "Some guy ran a red light and hit my car on my left side." Marco nodded, that fit seeing as Ace had broken his left leg. "Are you sure you're fine?" Ace nodded. "Yeah, it doesn't hurt. It wasn't that bad of a crash, but my car needs some help though." Marco nodded, he didn't care about the car, just about Ace. He moved his hand to Ace's. "We'll fix your car, yoi." Ace smiled. "I know. And I feel fine." That was good. Ace was then released after a couple hours and when they got home, Ace got settled on the couch.

After a bit, Ace looked at him. "I need to go to work again tomorrow, I don't want to use up more sick days, but I can't drive my car. Both since it is ruined and I have a broken leg, meaning I can't drive a manual car. Didn't you have an automatic?" Marco nodded. "I do, want to borrow it for a bit, yoi?" Ace gave a small nod. "If I can?" Marco nodded, moving to kiss his boyfriend. "Of course, yoi." Marco moved his hand to Ace's head. "You can borrow anything I have, yoi." Ace smiled. "Thank you." Marco shook his head a bit. "I mean it, I love you, and you can have all that I have, yoi." Ace smiled and Marco was glad he could do this for Ace. When evening came, they decided to head to the store, so Ace could test drive the car before tomorrow, since he had never driven an automatic. Marco could have Thatch pick him up tomorrow and for the next few weeks, he didn't need a car.

Ace did his best to walk, he didn't need crutches, as it wasn't that bad of a break, but he needed to take it calmly and should try not to use his leg too much. When they got to the car, Ace sat down in the driver's seat, Marco in the passenger and he looked at Marco. "How does this go?" Marco hummed. "You press the button, keep the brake in, and put it in drive, yoi." Ace nodded and did, and then Marco continued. "Then you let go of the break, yoi. And the car will move at once, forward, since you're in drive." Ace nodded and let go of the brake, and the car moved, making him give a small start. "It's moving! I haven't pressed anything! This is so cool!" Marco chuckled. "It is. Now, just brake and gas as you need to, and you're good to go, yoi." Ace nodded, this was really cool. Ace then started the drive to the store, which went fine. It was weird not to clutch, but it also felt really nice, it felt much more controlled when he was in an uphill, as he didn't need to start with the clutch and gas and slowly let go of the clutch. This felt so much better. He still caught himself wanting to clutch and shift gear a few times, as he was used to, but it felt better.

They then got to the store and then they bought a few things, before the ride home, which he felt went better than the trip to the store. When they got home, it was starting to get late, so they went to bed early, Ace wanting that.

The next few days went by fine, and when the day came that they were going to Trevor's to meet the others, Ace walked into the home to Trevor, finding the others at their table and everyone smiled at him. "Ace!" Said Mika. "You're here! Oh my! Your leg!" Ace nodded as he sat down. "Yeah, car accident." Shachi gave a frown. "Oh, first you're sick, then you get into a car crash? I gotta say, not your month." Ace nodded. "I know I know. Unlucky I guess." Zoro nodded. "Obviously. No other injuries?" Ace shook his head. "Just a few bruises." Mika nodded. "Good good. Now, has anything happened in the last week?" Ace hummed. "Well, I was sick, you know that. Then this car crash. Marco was so worried." Zoro chuckled. "Yeah, I can see that. He is the worrying type." Ace nodded. "Yeah, but he cares." Mika nodded. "Are you two… I mean, are you okay?" Ace sighed. "We're… better." They really were, he felt like, Marco was an amazing man, when he wasn't mean. Mika moved her hand to his. "I am sure it will turn out fine." Ace nodded. "I hope so." The stay also went by fine, them speaking about everything, even some half smutty things, and a few things he decided he would bring up with Marco and try them out, it sounded fun in a way.

Ace was just glad things felt okay.
