Ending the Pain within the Sunflowers
Laphicet is sounding peaceful in his sleeping bag with Velvet snuggling very close to him even though this felt a little embarrassing to her, but then she opens her eyes when she felt the certain urge to leak out.
Velvet went out the tent and took the nature call behind a tree then went back inside only to see one of the sleeping bags empty, one of a certain stubborn witch was sleeping next to Yukari and Magilou.
"Well shit, now that's perfect." Velvet groaned sarcastically.
"Hey, you two shitty witches, wake up!" Velvet yelled angry and whack both the Sendo hard on their heads.
"AAAAHH?! WHY?!" Yukari cried.
"If you wanted to have a late-night fortune telling then all you have to do was ask." Magilou groaned while rubbing her head.
"Then maybe you can use to tell me where the fuck did Rubi run off to." Velvet said in a snappy mood right now.
"Did something happen?" Laphicet asked as he starts to wake up from all the noise and soon everybody in the tent have woken up from their sleep.
"Rubi ditched us. That's what happened." Velvet informed.
"What?" Tsukune shocked as he turns to see Ruby's sleeping bag empty meaning the witch girl must have gone back away and he can only guess on she has gone back to her only home.
"We have to go after her." Tsukune rushed out of the tent.
"Tsukune, wait for us!" Moka said as she comes following her soon after he left.
"Sheesh, and I was just having a wonderful dream." Kurumu complained.
Everyone ran outside their tent, after folding their sleeping bags, and through the forest as they already know where Rubi have gone to right now and that would be the hill fill of sunflowers that has always been her home for years from what she told them and will have to try again to convince her to come with them.
"I'm not sure if we'll be able to convince her to come with us." Eleanor said.
"If she won't then we'll drag her back wot Yokai Academy with us even if I have to break every bone in her body." Velvet clutched her left hand.
"Must you believe everything can be solve with violence?" Eleanor asked.
"Do you think we're gonna have to fight here again?" Yukari asked worry.
"Maybe so, she is dead set on protecting that very hill." Magilou recalled the words from Ruby's mouth earlier at the tent.
Suddenly Yukari just felt something touching her leg though it was only for an instant as she dragged on the ground them held up in the up by some vines as she panics from the sudden plant trap.
"Yukari!" Tsukune gasped.
"Look out!" Laphicet freaked out as more vines came out.
The vines started grabbing all the girls trap and tangle in the air leaving only Tsukune and Laphicet remain though that only makes them feel a bit more scared than before.
"Rubi, is that you?" Laphicet asked.
"Correct." Ruby responded appearing in front of the sunflower field.
"Go back, no one's allowed on this hill! No matter who you are. Leave or perish." Rubi warned pointing her wand at the Yokai students.
"Is it just me or does she seem more cuckoo than before?" Magilou wondered.
"Rubi, stop it! There's gotta be another way here!" Moka pleaded.
"Please listen to her! If we work together, we'll figure it out!" Yukari tried to reason with Rubi.
"Don't waste your breath, girls. I can see if in her eyes, this witch won't back down as words won't reach her." Magilou pointed out.
"She's right and you are doom!" Rubi channeled her magic to summon forth a bunch of plant monsters and lots more from before.
"Those seem scarier." Tsukune gulped.
"What you see before you are her Ladyship's brood, a loyal army of plant soldiers bred to defend Witch Hill!" Rubi explained.
"This is not good!" Laphicet quickly summoned his talismans for the battle that is about to happen.
"As if you can hold me with these stupid plants." Velvet transformed her right arm and tears through the vines and the other girls soon freed themselves.
"Tsukune, stay close to us no matter what. We need figure out a way to stop Rubi from her crazy protecting rampage." Laphicet said.
"I understand the stopping her part, but how exactly?" Tsukune asked.
"How about we start with knocking some fucking sense into her." Magilou glared at the witch of the sunflower field.
Magilou and Yukari throw in their card magic cards slicing through about seven or eight plant monsters in front of them. Velvet charges in punching each planet monster away with her red monster fist easily destroying them. Eleanor use her water magic to slice away some plant monsters along with Kurumu destroying them with her nails and Mizore freezes them with her ice.
"Look out!" Laphicet quickly defended Tsukune with his talismans coated with silver flame to burn them away.
"Wait, we're missing Moka!" Tsukune realized as he looks around until he found Moka still trap with the vines.
"Moka!" Tsukune gasped.
"We have to save her!" Tsukune ran towards Moka in hopes of helping her from those vines.
"Tsukune, be careful!" Laphicet launched his talismans at the incoming plant monsters.
"Take this, I'll help protect you two!" Magilo threw a magic card at Tsukune who caught it and jumps onto Moka, and they got overwhelmed by some of the plant monsters.
"Tsukune! Moka!" Eleanor gasped after slicing through four more plant monsters.
"Don't worry, they'll be fine. I hope." Magilou said.
Rubi laughs at the sight of these wimpy fellow monsters can overcome the giant army of the Ladyship's plant monsters. Sure, these kids are strong and powerful, but they will be nothing once the plant monsters start to overwhelm them with the numbers and other things.
"Now, I'll turn them into a blood offering." Rubi said about the two she already caught them within her plant monsters.
"Rubi, please, stop this insanity!" Yukari begged only to be smacked by a vine.
"Get those things off her right now!" Kurumu angered.
Magilou summons a lightning bolt to strike down at Rubi only to be blocked by a giant shield made of plant monsters coming together even though they are burned down, more appears to take their place.
"This is getting annoying." Velvet angered after destroying another plant monster.
Suddenly a giant dangerous pink explosion burst out of the piles of plant monsters with intense shockwaves with Inner Moka appearing in the middle and out for a fight.
"Is that a… A vampire?" Ruby shocked.
"Sorry to call you out for some weed hacking, Moka." Tsukune apologized chuckling.
"You always push yourself too hard as always, but at least you had helped and saved my ass." Inner Moka said with a small smile.
"Hey, look out!" Tsukune gasped when some plant monsters.
But they are taken out by Velvet all in one punch.
"Go for Rubi, she's the one controlling them." Velvet said as she grabs Inner Moka's leg and throws her at Rubi.
"You won't get me!" Rubi unleashed her six wings to attack Moka only for the vampire to easily dodge them and kick the witch down hard.
"I'll take blood over peace." Inner Moka said.
"Well, that's another one-hit victory." Magilou commented.
"No wait, it's not over!" Eleanor sensed that Rubi is still fighting.
True to her words, Rubi is seen still standing even after taking a powerful blow to the face by Moka and doesn't look damage at all as Magilou could guess it must be an enhance durability spell or something else.
"You sure you want to keep going? We got some powerful monsters on our side." Magilou pointed out.
"I cannot stop. I'm going to defend Witch Hill because it's my wish. Also, because her Ladyship demands it!" Rubi used her magic to make the destroyed and defeated plant monsters come together making them bigger.
"They're even bigger than before!" Yukari shocked.
"So, we can still cut them down." Velvet glared at the plant monsters and grab one by the face, then absorbing the energy from that monster because crushing it.
Laphicet and Tsukune are caught in some vines being trapped worrying the girls, Inner Moka also got caught when she tried to attack Rubi again.
"Her Ladyship wants it, so it must be done! I must do everything her Ladyship desires. My only purpose here is to execute her every request." Rubi bragged on while attacking Inner Moka with her wings.
"Who is this ladyship?" Tsukune asked then he spotted a house.
"That must be the house Rubi mentioned she live with this lady." Lapchiet realized and quickly use his flame to burn the vines off himself and Tsukune.
"Come on, we got to get this Ladyship to calm Rubi down!" Laphicet ran towards the house with Tsukune right behind him.
"Hey, hold on a sec!" Magilou called out to the boys.
Five plant monsters try to attack the boys which scares them a little, but Kurumu comes in saving them, and the others came in helping the boys get through safely to the house and got inside.
"We made it." Laphicet panted as he and Tsukune walked inside the house.
"Look at all these roots, that must be where those plant monsters came from." Tsukune guessed.
"You might be right." Laphicet said.
The two boys walk through a hallway following the roots until the lead them to one room and found a single person there.
"You must this "Ladyship" Rubi has been going on about." Laphicet figured.
"Excuse us, we come for a request about Rubi. Please let her make her own choice." Tsukune hoped this woman would see reason.
However, there is no respond form her Ladyship which seems to be very strange as they look closer to the woman, but they discovered something truly horrible that causes Tsukune to almost vomit and Laphicet just stood there frozen in fear but managed to pull himself together.
"We have to tell everyone about this. Now!" Laphicet said.
(Outside)
"Damn it, no matter how many we beat down, they just keep coming." Eleanor panted feeling a little exhausted.
"Rubi can't keep this up forever, we just have to outlast her somehow." Magilou said.
"I don't know, I'm already exhausted as it is." Kurumu said feeling tired.
"I'm not giving up." Mizore refused to back down now.
"Yeah, I'm not done fighting." Yukari nodded, but then she saw something bad.
"Oh no, Moka and Velvet have been caught!" Yukari alerted the others seeing Velvet and Moka caught in some vines.
"Rubi, don't!" Yukari begged.
"It's no use, that girl listen to reason like Magilou said." Velvet pointed out.
"Yes, nothing will get through to her in that state." Inner Moka added.
"Die!" Rubi captured the other girls and trap in a giant plant ball.
"This is what you get for defiling Witch Hill! Now lap it up!" Rubi laughed insanely.
"(This girl, I see something odd in her eyes like there is a truth hidden but she is refusing to knowledge it and tries to keep it away from her mind.)" Magilou thought wondered.
Suddenly a silver flame talisman attack flew right past Rubi's face almost hitting her and she turns to see both Laphicet and Tsukune.
"Rubi, it's time to end this because your ambition is nothing but empty words now." Laphicet called out with a serious tone.
"How dare you say such things. I'm doing all of this for her Ladyship!" Rubi angered.
"Except your Ladyship is no more. We went inside the house to find her corpse." Tsukune revealed shocking everyone including Rubi.
"Rubi, your Ladyship has been dead for years now and you made yourself believe that she was still alive to escape that harsh reality!" Laphicet explained.
The girls of Yokai Academy are utterly shocked to hear that all this time hearing Rubi going on about her Ladyship this and her Ladyship that, the woman Rubi would follow to the ends of the earth is actually dead as they can see the shock look on her face meaning Laphicet was right about that as well.
"No, it can't be…" Rubi started to remember a memory from a few years ago.
On the dead her Ladyship died.
(Flashback)
"Rubi." The old Ladyship said before coughing hard and Rubi comforts her.
"I'm afraid that I… I may have acted very foolishly." Her Ladyship said sad.
"Don't you see? All the things I set out to do were no different than the humans." Her Ladyship realized her mistake and cough hard.
"Your Ladyship!" Rubi worried.
"Please forgive me. I'm about to leave you all by yourself again… But remember, Rubi… I will always be by your side, no matter what happens. Forever." Her Ladyship said her final words smiling before passing on.
(Flashback End)
"I see now, all this time the woman Rubi cared for deeply had already passed away from old age leaving Rubi to fend for herself but refuses to let her go and made a false image of her Ladyship still alive." Magilou said, now finally understanding what is going on in Rubi's head.
"No… NOOOOOO?!" Rubi screamed in rage and channel more magic into her wand glowing very bright responding to her sadness and rage.
"You fool! You're going to use a forbidden spell!" Eleanor gasped.
"If you already know what that is then we're in big trouble." Magilou cursed.
"What are you two talking about?" Kurumu asked.
"It means Rubi will never turn to herself anymore. Never again." Yukari answered crying off sadness that she's about to lose a new friend she just met.
Rubi's magic went out of control using the forbidden spell merging herself with the plant monsters to become a more dangerous and scary plant monster, and her mind have gone off more insane than before.
"What the hell?!" Tsukune gasped.
"DIE ALL OF YOU?!" Rubi screamed insanely as she goes on a rampage.
"(Damn it, there's got to be something we can do.)" Laphicet thought and an idea came to her.
"Magilou! Yukari! What would happen if a witch's wand were to be destroyed?" Laphicet asked.
"I see." Magilou smirked as she gets the same idea Laphicet just had.
"Without a wand, a witch is completely useless just like any other weak humans. They can't do magic anymore." Magilou explained.
"Then our only chance… Is to destroy the wand!" Laphicet unleashed his talismans to attack Rubi's wand.
However, Rubi saw this coming and block the talismans with a giant vine tentacle despite it being burn by the silver flames.
"Fool, nothing you can do to stop me!" Rubi laughed crazy.
"I know, which is why I was freeing them." Laphicet said.
Turns out, Laphicet send a few more talismans as the true means to free Velvet and Inner Moka from their binding, and they're already on the case of destroying the wand since they overheard the plan.
"What?!" Rubi gasped.
"You're a damn idiot for holding onto the past. Now it's time to wake you up!" Velvet readied with her monster arm and on Inner Moka's leg.
"I'll take blood over peace!" Inner Moka threw her kick to launch Velvet at straight for the wand.
Velvet grabs the wand absorbing some power and easily crushes it in her hand causing a giant explosion taking Rubi out.
At the very last moment, Rubi is having a memory of what she loves in the world with her Ladyship with joys of sadness and joy.
The entire group watches on as the explosion died up with not a sign of Rubi at all, meaning her life has ended.
"I guess you didn't count on that big explosion to take her out, huh?" Magilou asked.
"I was hoping she would calm down and the plant monsters would stop." Laphicet sadden of Rubi now gone.
"Unfortunately, it was either us or her. Now we just have to live with it." Velvet stated.
"That sounds a little harsh." Tsukune commented.
The group have met up with Medissa, Kamoana, and Miss Shizuka who got herself lots of yummy fish, the bus came showing Gin is here as well.
"Finally got out of summer school, huh?" Magilou grinned.
"It was Hell for sure, but I miraculously freed himself because I'm not about to miss out on summer vacation." Gin said.
However, Laphicet and mostly everyone are shocked to see what or who is in Gin's arms.
"Rubi!"
"What? You guys know her or something?" Gin asked.
"It's a long story." Laphicet nodded.
"Where did you find her?" Velvet asked.
"I just found her floating in the ocean. Just floating along like something was keeping her safe from harm. She even got this sunflower with her too." Gin answered and holding up a sunflower.
Everyone is surprised like something from above had protected her from the explosion, they smile believing that it might've been someone important saved Rubi even from beyond the grave.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Another danger has been dealt with though this one as more of a lost soul being blinded for not accepting her Ladyship passed on, but it looks like she has been given a second chance to live her own life much to Laphicet and everyone's relief of seeing her okay.
