The events of this chapter take place during chapter 21 of Cyber Ranger Guardian Story

After escaping Blue Eye's submarine, while Takumi and the Tamers were taking the freed Pokemon to Rand's house, Ben and Summer were going on a patrol. It didn't take long for them to come across someone in need. Said person led them to help her Mankey friend, which became a Guardian Sign for Ben. After checking back at Tilt Village, they found someone else with a job for them…

"Yo, yo, Rangers!" A young boy named Casey waved. "Is it true that you can make Entei appear?"

"Huh. Word of that got out faster then I thought it would." Ben replied scratching his head. "But yeah. It's called a Guardian Sign."

"I heard about you smashing big rocks on Great Entei. Did it really happen?"

"Multiple times." Summer nodded.

"Then it's just like what's in the old song. That's really cool! A Great Ranger riding on Entei already sounds like a hero, you see?"

"It sure does!" Summer giggled, humored by Ben's humbled expression.

Just then a man came out of a nearby house. "A Great Ranger on Entei"? You got it wrong! It's "A Ranger on Great Entei"! You need to calm down a bit, Casey!"

"Did I really say that?" the boy asked.

"By the way, Rangers, as the one to represent the villagers who use Mitonga Road, I'd like to make a request."

"How can we help?" Ben asked.

"Can you remove the boulders from the road?"

"Boulders?"

Casey's eyes lite up. "Oh, I know! It's the place we have landslides sometimes! A Great Ranger and Entei should have no trouble dealing with them. I'm asking you, too!"

"Okay." Ben nodded.

The Rangers did their poses. "Quest on!"

"Great Ranger! Landslides sometimes happen near Noir Forrest, off Mitonga Road. Let me take you there."

Wiley, the man next to Casey sighed. "The Great Ranger and Entei again? Are you trying to cover up your embarrassing mistake? Forever and ever?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

The man sighed. "Either way…Do a good job, taking the Rangers there Casey."

As Wiley went back inside, Ben drew the Guardian Sign. "Go Guardian Sign! Entei, come Forth!" In a burst of fire, Entei appeared and Ben got on it's back.

"Wow, cool! You look just like the Hero of Oblivia!"

After helping Summer on, Ben extended his hand to Casey. "Shall we get going?"

The boy was nervous, but got onto Entei, sitting in front of Ben. "Make way! The hero of Oblivia!" Ben and Summer laughed as Entei moved ahead.

In the forest near the mysterious mansion, Entei strode in. Casey got off once they reached their destination. "The great Ranger! Please smash all the rocks here. The villagers can't get through here like this. Let me know when all the rocks are gone!"

Ben looked at the surrounding boulders. "Something isn't right."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Summer asked.

"When we took this path to get to the old mansion last time, these rocks weren't here. I don't thing a simple landslide could have done all this. Not to mention all the Dusclops are gone."

"What do you think it means?"

"I don't know. Summer, you stay here with Casey."

"Okay. Let me know if you need help."

"I will. "Let's go Entei!" The Pokemon roared as it charged. It rushed forwards and smashed some smaller boulders with no problem, then charged into a bigger one, smashing it. With a corner approaching, Ben led it to the left, smashing more rocks. Then turned to the left at the next corner, smashing all obstacles in that direction. Then turning left at the next. Then Ben brought it to the center of the forest, smashing the last two giant boulders with a mighty charge before circling back to Summer and Casey. "All done." Ben said proudly.

Summer clapped. "Great work Ben!"

"I knew you could do it, Great Ranger!" Casey cheered. "You rode on Entei like a pro! I guess the Hero of Oblivia was just like you!"

"Well then, shall we head back?" Ben asked.

Back at the village Wiley stood next to Casey. "Thank you, Great Ranger. I mean…Casey, now you've got me saying it wrong!"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh, it's cool!" Ben laughed. "I am pretty great, aren't I?"

"Oh, Ben." Summer sighed.

"Come back and play games with me!" Casey smiled. "Thank you, jumbo Ranger!"

"Jumbo Ranger…?" Wiley asked. "What kind of mistake is that Casey?"

"Quest Clear!"

Near the Great Booker Bridge, Ben and Summer spotted a woman sighing to herself. "Is something wrong?" Summer asked.

"Oh, Rangers, does the scent of herbs bother you?"

"Not really. I mean we monitor nature, so we're exposed to them all the time." Ben replied.

"I can't stand smelling herbs. I always get a whiff of them up my nose. I have something to deliver to my son. Except that his house is full of medical plants and herbs, and I can't take the smell. Can I ask you a favor, Rangers?"

"Deliver it to him? Sure thing." Ben said before he and Summer posed. "Quest on!"

"You saved me! This is what I want you to deliver." The woman said, handing Ben a package. You know where to go, right?"

"Uh…no. Where does your son live?"

"In Cocona Village. My son's name is Herb. You may know him."

"Huh. Come to think of it, there is one house over there that had a strong scent coming from it. Alright, let's go Summer."

"Right!"

Thanks to Raikou, it didn't take long to get to Cocona Village. Ben and Summer hurried into a house where a young man was watering plants. "Excuse me, you're Herb, right?" Ben asked.

"Oh, Ranger, what is this all about?"

"Your mother asked us to deliver this to you."

"Really? A parcel for my mom?" Herb took the package. He opened it. "This is a spray deodorant? Is she telling me this is how I'd become popular among girls? To not smell like herbs?"

Sumer sighed. "Subtlety isn't her strong suit, is it?"

Herb rolled his eyes. "So typical of her. She's probably the only person who can't stand medical plants and herbs." He then noticed something else int the parcel. "Huh? There's a letter too. Let me see… What is it saying? Hmmm. All right, all right… …!"

Ben and Summer watched quietly as he read and heard him gasp. "What is it?" Ben asked.

"Mom…She wants me to visit her from the sound of it. That's why she sent this spray deodorant…"

"Oh…"

"Pichu…" Pichu smiled.

"I have an idea! Rangers, could you take my mom something from me on the way back?"

"Sure, but don't you think you should visit her?" Summer asked.

"I twisted my ankle yesterday and don't think I can make it over there…" Herb went to his drawer. Then to his desk. Using the empty box that held the deodorant he made a new parcel and gave it to Ben. "It's okay to give it to her whenever you have to go there. Can you please take this parcel to my mom? Please!"

"Okay."

Ben and Summer returned to the woman at the end of the bridge. "Thank you, Rangers. How was my son?"

"Well, he twisted his ankle yesterday." Summer replied.

"What? He twisted his ankle? He never ceases to worry me…"

"Well, because of that, he wanted us to deliver something for you." Ben said, taking out the parcel.

"Huh? Herb has something to give me?" The woman took it and opened it. "Argh!"

"What's wrong?" Ben asked.

"I got a whiff of it up my nose! This must be a medical plant…"

"Wow, really Herb?"

"How can he pull off such mischief knowing I don't like these things?! Huh? There's a letter, too." The woman unfolded it. "Let me see…What is it saying? Hmmmm. All right, all right…"

"This sounds familiar." Summer whispered.

The woman gasped. "Herb…"

"What is it?" Ben asked.

"He's saying that taking this medical plant will help me start to like medical plants…"

"Oh…"

"So typical of him. He continues by saying he'll visit me soon!"

"Pichu!" Ben's Pokemon smiled.

"I'll just hold my nose and…Yuck! …Take this medicinal plant." The woman swallowed the plant and turned back to Ben and Summer. "Rangers, thank you. …Yuck!"

"Quest Clear!"

Next the two Rangers found an old woman in her house acting strangely. "637 Mareep, 638 Mareep, 639 Mareep, 640 Mareep…"

"Um…is something wrong miss?" Summer asked.

The woman sighed in exasperation. "I have no idea why, but I can't sleep lately. They say you should try counting Mareep, but I'm still wide awake after counting hundreds of them."

"That's troubling." Ben said. "With the Pokemon Pinchers running wild, it makes sense to be restless."

"I heard of another way to fall asleep."

"What's that?"

"There is a Pokemon skilled in making others fall asleep…Noctowl, or something like that can help you sleep."

"Yeah. I read about that too." Summer replied.

"Rangers? Is it possible for you to bring me Noctowl?"

"I hope you don't need as many as you can count." Ben joked.

The woman laughed. "I don't need hundreds of them. Just one will do."

"Ben, I think I saw one near that mansion earlier." Summer said. "Let's go get it."

"Quest on!"

Back in front of the mansion, Noctowl flapped it's wings over to Ben and Summer after they tamed it. "Alright, let's head back." Ben said.

Summer looked at a Duskull nearby. "Hey, Ben, why are Ghost Pokemon gathering at this mansion?"

Ben looked at the old building as he remembered the mission he and the others had in it. "You know what, in a way it's appropriate."

"Huh? Why do you say that?"

Ben squinted. "Trust me, you don't want to know. Come on. Let's get this guy back to that poor lady so she can finally get some shut eye." Summer eyed him curiously as he left before going after him.

"1,273 Mareep…"

"You're still going at it?" Ben asked as he and Summer entered the woman's house. The Noctowl flew in with them.

"Oh, you've brought me a Pokemon that can help me sleep?"

"Noct! Noct!" the bird squawked.

"Noctowl, I'm so ready. Help me sleep please."

The Pokemon nodded and spread it's wings. Its eyes glowed purple.

"Noct! Noct! Noct! Noct!"

"1.274 Mareep…"

"Is that…really…necessary…" Ben murmured.

"Zzz… Zzz… Zzz… Zzz…"

"Did that…" Summer yawned. "Did that do it Ben…? Ben…?"

The woman sighed in relief. "I can finally fall asleep. Rangers, thank you so m… …?"

Ben felt warm as consciousness slowly returned to him. He was on a couth in the woman's home. "Mmmh…Huh? What's going on?"

Pichu was nearby playing his instrument. The woman smiled as she walked over to them. "Morning Ranger! I had such a good sleep thanks to you. Noctowl made you fall asleep as well, you see? I didn't know they were mischievous."

Ben heard a groggy sound right next to him. That's when he turned his head at the same time as Summer who was leaning on him. They faces were right in front of each others. "GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Their faces flared red as they backed away, startled out of their sleepy state. The blanket that was draped over them fell off. Pichu laughed at their reaction. After a very awkward moment of silence, they recomposed themselves. They apologized to the woman for troubling her who in turn thanked them for curing her insomnia.

"Please, don't tell anyone about this." Summer begged.

The woman laughed. "Oh, don't worry, mums the word. Although that girl who came in here just now…"

"Huh?"

"She seemed to be a friend of yours. She was wearing a pink coat. Anyway, she came in here looking for you. She said you were gone for a while and everyone was worried. I told her what happened, but she didn't seem too interested. When she saw you two sound asleep she called you… "Adorbs"? Something like that."

Ben blinked. "Wait, what?"

"Then she took out some strange gadget I've never seen before, pointing it at you two, then left in a hurry. Just after she left you woke up."

Ben and Summer were petrified as the put it together.

The girl that was just in the house was now walking down the Great Booker Bridge giggling at the cute photo she took of her friends, sleeping against each other on a couch with faint smiles. "Oh, wait until the others see this!"

"DAGNABBIT NOKIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" A furious and embarrassed shout from two Rangers echoed from back in Tilt Village.

Nokia and her Digimon looked back towards the village. "I think they're mad." Gabumon said.

"Really?" Agumon asked. "But they looked so happy in there."

"Aaaaaaaand, time to split!" Nokia said, running down the bridge as fast as she could.

Ben and Summer were looking around the village. "Dang it, where did she go?!" Ben growled.

Summer sighed. "Great, she's probably back at Rand's place by now and they're all laughing their heads off at-

"Yo, yo, Rangers!" Casey waved. "Is something wrong?"

"Gah!" Ben and Summer were startled and flustered. "Fine, fine! Everything's fine!" Summer said, flailing her arms.

"Oh, okay. Is it true you can make Entei appear? I heard about you smashing rocks on Great Entei. Did it really happen?"

"Why does this sound familiar?" Ben asked.

"…Am I saying the same thing as before?"

"Yup."

"But guess what? Noir Forrest is full of boulders again!"

"You're joking, already?!" Ben asked. "Jeez, today's quite a day for repetition."

"It may not be as easy as last time, but could you be a hero and take care of them?"

"Leave it to us." Summer replied.

"Right." Ben nodded.

"Let me take you to Noir Forrest."

"Go, Guardian Sign! Entei come forth!" Ben summoned his Pokemon to his side and he mounted it.

"I know I said this before, but let me say it again." Casey said. "Wow, cool! You look just like the Hero of Oblivia!" He climbed on with Summer. "Make way! Hero of Oblivia!"

Once again, riding Entei in Noir Forrest, Casey climbed down with Summer. "Some of these rocks this time aren't like the ones from last time."

"What do you mean?" Summer asked.

"There are some tricky ones." Casey pointed to a couple of red rocks in front of them. "The colors are different, so you should be able to tell. Give it a shock and…Ka-boom!"

"They explode?!"

Casey nodded. "The villagers will take care of those explosive rocks later. You just need to smash the normal rocks. Let me know when all the regular rocks are gone."

"Something is definitely up here." Ben muttered. "Well, I'll be right back." Ben turned left to avoid the explosive rocks and dealt with a couple of bigger ones. Then turned right to deal with three. Seeing a red one he stopped and turned around, taking the south rout and smashing some smaller rocks before pounding a bigger one to the east. Seeing a big one, he had Entei charge but he didn't see the red one behind it. As it broke it set off an explosion. Ben's Styler took damage as he nearly fell off. "Yikes! Sorry Entei. Exploding rocks…something about this whole mess is off…" They went to deal with the ones to the north and returned to Casey and Summer. "And done." Ben got off and waved Entei goodbye. "Thanks Entei!"

"Thank you, Ranger! How bad were those explosions?"

"Ben! Summer!" Sunflowmon flew over to them carrying Ami.

"Ami?" Ben watched the girl get down. "What are you doing here?"

"I was in the village where I heard about these rockslides happening. I got the details of what happened from Wiley."

"Well, Ben took care of it, so all's well that ends well." Summer replied.

"No, not yet. Dosen't it seem strange? All these boulders coming out of nowhere? Including ones that explode?"

"I thought it seemed odd." Ben admitted.

"Well, I asked around, and it turns out a certain species of Rock Pokemon went missing shortly before these incidents started."

"Missing Pokemon?"

"Ben, this whole thing is just a tra- Ami was cut off by a shaking sound.

"What?" Curious, Casey hurried on ahead towards the sound.

"Hey, wait!" Ben and Summer hurried after him. They stopped when they saw three blocky Pokemon stomping on the ground. A red bolder landed in between them.

"Those are Golem!" Summer gasped.

"Did you see that?" Ben asked. "They're the ones causing this! I knew something was wrong here!"

"Just as I thought." Ami then hollered to the trees. "Alright, come out here you weasel! I know you're watching!"

"Be amazed!" A voice echoed. "I never reflect on the past. I'm a lone Pincher with vengeance in mind." A Z.Z. Flyer zoomed in front of them. "I knew this was too much for the villagers to handle. I was expecting you to show up eventually."

"A Pokemon Pincher?!" Ben gapped.

"This was a trap to lure you out!" Ami said.

"That's right!" the man grinned. "Now get them!"

The Golem growled as they rolled towards them. "Come on Ben! Summer! We'll take them all on!"

"Right." Ben nodded. "Capture on!"

"Sunflowmon, go!"

"Sunshine Beam!" Ami's Digimon shot a burst of light that knocked them out of their rolling. The Golem growled as they got up and summoned more rocks from above.

"Look out!" Ben yelled as they all backed up.

"That's right, ya all better run!" the Pincher laughed.

"This guy is getting on my nerves." Ben growled before drawing with his Styler. "Time to call my new friend out! Go, Guardian Sign! Mankey, come forth!" A Mankey appeared in a flash of light. "Karate Chop!" Hearing Ben's instructions, his Pokemon jumped at one of them, wacking it over the head. As Pichu played music, the three Golem slowed down.

"Gia Element!" Sunflowmon shot a emerald light at them that blasted them to the ground, making capturing them easy for Ben and Summer.

As the Golem left the Pincher scowled. "Hmph! You've grown tougher! I would've won if that girl detective didn't show up and I got you by surprise!"

"Ami and I are more then just a powerful duo." Sunflowmon smiled. "Ami's smarter than all of you Pinchers put together."

"What?"

"Before we came here, I tipped off some people who weren't too happy about you filling the forest with dangerous rocks." Ami grinned.

"What are you-

Suddenly a lasso flew over the Pincher and pulled him off his Z.Z. Flyer. "He was behind this whole mess! Thank you, Cyber Sleuth!" Three men holding the rope stormed over to the downed Pincher. "You, come with us! Reflect on what you've done or you get nothing to eat!"

The Pincher gulped as he was taken away. "Isn't that a little too harsh?"

"Nice going Ami." Summer smiled.

"All in a day's work. Come on, let's get back to the village."

Back at Tilt Village, Casey sat down. "That was suppressing. Hey, miss, what made you think that guy was making a trap?"

"How often do you hear about rocks that explode?" Ami asked. "Not too natural if you ask me. As soon as I heard that, I figured this was a trap of some kind."

"Wow. You really are a genius Great Sleuth!"

"Thanks, but it's Cyber-

"Just roll with it, Ami." Summer replied. "And on that note…"

She and Ben posed. "Quest Clear!"

"Glad everything worked out. The Pokemon in the forest should be safe for now." Ami said.

"Yup." Palmon nodded. "And it's good to see you two are still focused. Guess we don't need to intrude on your patrol after all."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Summer asked.

Ami put on her goggles. "Nokia showed us a funny photo she just took, and we felt maybe you two were going to feel too awkward to work." Her goggles projected a rectangle showing a image of Ben and Summer sleeping on a couch. The Rangers' faces turned red. Much to Ami's amusement. She withdrew the image and put her Digivice away. "Anyway, looks like you got things under control here! I'll leave you to your patrol. Don't get too lovey-dovey on the job now!"

Ben and Summer scowled as Ami left. "Dagnabbit Nokia!"
