The Inheritance test always appealed to me as a little cliche. So I decided to not write it because it was simply too bothersome for write and it gets too cliche.
This will be the chapter where the Death Eater activities start.
Rajeshkont mentioned in his review that it was an AU perhpas but this is just canon going into an unseen chaos.
The butterfly effect is a strange thing but powerful nonetheless. I have given an example for making people understand this.
Since Severus bought the House Elf which was never supposed to be bought that day, he caused another change along with what he had been doing since his arrival. The anger and slight frustration from not getting a house elf lead to Travers going for a drink in Leaky Cauldron where he spotted Tonks.
The slight anger gave its way to supressed anger and resentment of years ago which led to the death of Tonks.
Severus looked at the Prince Manor infront of him. It was of a gothic architecture and was about the same size as half of Windsor castle which he had visited in his previous life. And to think it was only the residing place of Princes in England. The main Prince Manor was located in Italy as the family had its roots there.
As he suspected, the Prince family wealth and everything was his now. He had taken a gamble with the inheritance test and surprisingly his gamble had paid off nicely, in hindsight he should have expected that. The most distressing thing for a pureblood was his line ending out, his grandfather may have ejected her mother for marrying a muggle but even he would not want his own family line dying out. So as he had expected, his mother was disinherited but Severus was applicable for the interests and properties of Prince family provided he take the Prince name as his own which was no problem for him.
The ritual strength was very much underestimated by him, he didn't knew that the ritual would result in him being somehow the Lord to four families, three of which had died out. One from Tobias Snape, who knew that he had been a squib but then again there was hardly any difference between a squib and muggle.
The ritual had awakened the traits of the families which were alway in him and never showed, resulting him in becoming Lord to House Moore. Through his mother's great grandmother, he had got the lineage of House Alarie which had been dead a generation later after her. This actually made him realise why ritualistic magic was banned, it was simply too powerful in the hands of someone who knew how to use it. The wealth of those Houses were considerable and only House Alarie's wealth was pretty nice compared to the Princes but then again the money had been used and added over years whereas the other Houses accounts were simply closed off only to be opened up now. He had his time to use the fortune for his own purposes now, now was the perfect time to implement the plans.
The Lordships were never going to be a secret considering if the Dark Lord somehow learnt of it, he will be heavily questioned. Which made him realise that he should let it be known in public which will not make the Dark Lord's suspicion fall on him.
Today was going to be the summons and he was already half trembling from the situation he found himself in. Till now he had thought everything as a fantasy world but now living in it, it made him realise the stakes which holded now due to the war and which were on his life. He would not spy for the light side which meant that the war would be bloodier. Was it a cowardly and selfish decision, yes a Gryffindor would surely think that. But he was a man and he had his own vices and virtues, he wanted to live and enjoy his life accordingly. It was certainly not a bad thing, was it? Everyone was selfish for something, was it wrong that he was selfish for his own survival?; certainly not.
"Blessy, so this is the Prince Manor" he spoke up looking at the Prince elf who was too excited to serve a new master. Riley was looking a little downcasted by the new appearance of the Prince elf who had come to him after he got the title, though a little talk had done to cheer his moods. He understood that he was a Prince elf now and Severus had told him that he will still trust some of his important works to Riley which had made the elf a little brighter than before.
"Yes, Master Severus" the female elf chirped out loud with joy. Blessy was afterall happy to serve a new master and that too the son of Mistress Eileen.
"Now let's explore my new home" he spoke up with a small gleeful smile of his own.
Things were changing and they were changing fast, he had read about the death of a person named Edward Tonks in the papers today. Unless he was not hallucinating and the muggle papers were right then the husband of Andromeda Tonks was killed by a killing curse which could be said as the Police found no signs of violence or robbery. The death was ruled as natural death. There were no reports about it in the magical papers though, it was rather from a muggle paper from which he found the news about this.
Things were changing and that also too fast. It seems butterfly effect was going on its full mode. Afterall a small flap of butterfly's wing could create typhoons.
He himself never believed it much but the more he spent his time here, the more he realised the truth of this and the extent it could go.
For example, many people say that a small flap of wings would never be enough for a typhoon. It was however indeed true that a butterfly can literally cause a typhoon with a flap of it's wings. It's the idea that a change no matter how small can cause an infinite snowball effect. For example, let us take an example. Imagine this, there's a time traveler that travels 30 years into the past. BUT... He only stays there for 1 second before returning to his timeline. now, Let's say the moment the time traveler appears in the past for that 1 second, another man, (random guy) who is passing by sees the time traveler appear and disappear out of the corner of his eye. He stops for about five seconds before convincing himself he was just seeing things and continues about his day. Now, let's say the original timeline, without the time traveler... (random guy) was never suposed to stop for those five seconds. He is now five seconds behind. He was originlly suposed to go home and have sex with his wife. And he still does. But now in the altered timeline, he's five seconds behind. Now in the OT(Original timeline) he was suposed to get his wife pregnant. In the AT(Altered timeline) He still get's his wife pregnant, but the sperm cell that was supposed to be Bobby is now a Diane. A different sperm cell ends up fertilizing her egg and a human being that was NEVER SUPPOSED to exist is now existing, and a human being that was SUPPOSED to exist is no longer existing. Every one of Bobby's decendents that were orininally supossed to be born and have their own interactions with the world, are never born, and all the impacts they were supossed to make never end up being made. Now Diane who was never supposed to exist, grows up, and as she does, she's constantly meeting people and doing things that were never meant to happen. Changing the destinies of everyone she encounters and everyone they encounter after coming into contact with her. It's an infinite loop of changes that just keeps spiraling bigger and bigger. Every human that was supposed to be born is now no longer there just because the man was five seconds late. And all of it happened just because the man was five seconds late, mere five seconds late which was just taken as granted.
It was around seven in the evening when he felt his dark mark burn. It was a little surprising to know that there were two different dark marks. The primary dark mark was simply used for the new recruits, this mark was extremely small around the size of a small snake which was mostly impossible for the naked eye as it was invisible to spot unless they were called when it became visible. The second mark was for the inner circle which was always present on the arm. It was a mark for the Death Eaters that they had the Dark Lord's trust. In his opinion the former should have been for the Inner circle's too, afterall it was easy to identify people of a concerned cult with their specific markings.
He quickly wore the black robes given to him during the initiation, apparently the first burn of mark meant for one to be ready for the calling five minutes later. It was the time given to them to dress and prepare themselves for the meeting. It was quite interesting to see the hierarchy and how things were being done in the Death Eaters.
It was time for the grand test and the game of his survival to begin.
