Takes place during chapter 29 of Cyber Ranger Guardian Story. And during the events of the previous chapter.

Yukino turned to her daughter. "So, Ami, you were patrolling with Summer and Arata at the time, right? What did you get up to?"

Ami closed her eyes. "Well, we were on Mitonga Island. The first thing we did was check out Tilt Village where…"

While Ben's team was exploring Sophia Island after Red Eyes' defeat, Summer, Ami, and Arata were at Mitonga Island. "Ragnar!" An old woman called Summer and she turned around.

"Is something wrong?" Summer asked as she and her party approached.

"I happened to hear the guys on the UFOs talking."

"You mean the Pokemon Pinchers?" Ami asked. "What were they up to now?"

"They were talking about setting traps that look like a barrel or like a cage to catch Pokemon here on Mitonga Island."

"Not good." Arata muttered.

"They were saying that not one, but three traps were set. How horrible! I'm afraid that Pokemon may get caught by those traps any minute…"

"Then I say we trash every last one of them crummy things!" Keremon cackled.

The woman nodded. "This should be a piece of cake for you, Ranger! Especially if you have people with these strange Digimon with you."

"Of course!" Summer winked and preformed her pose. "Quest on!"

"Please do a good job! There are three traps set by those people here on Mitonga Island."

"Do you know their specific locations?" Ami asked.

"Where are they? Er…One is near the pond in the Old Mansion garden to the north of Tilt Village…Another one is somewhere on Mitonga Road through the Daybreak Ruins…The last one was by a tree at Dangerous Cliff…Come to think of it…I heard that a couple of shady characters were seen sneaking around Dangerous Cliff."

"Okay." Ami looked at her team. "Let's split up and take one each. I'll check the one at Dangerous Cliff."

"Keremon and I will take the one near the Old Mansion." Arata said.

"Then that leaves me with the one at Daybreak Ruins." Summer nodded. "Okay! Meet back here when you're done! Break!"

Ami and Sunflowmon looked at a suspicious red barrel with a hole and bars on the front in the middle of Dangerous Cliff. "Think this is it?" Sunflowmon asked.

"Must be. Alright, you know what to do. Be careful. There might be a Pokemon inside."

"Hya!" Sunflowmon sliced it open with a hand chop and it fell into pieces. "Alright, one down. Let's head back." Ami nodded.

To the east side of the Old Mansion, Arata and Kurisarimon stood in front of another odd barrel. "There it is." Arata said. "Okay, let's break it before it can catch anything."

"Catch? This piece of junk? Gimme a break. What kind of idiotic creature would let himself get caught in such a dumb looking trap?"

"Just hurry up and get rid of it."

"Yes sir. Don't worry mindless Pokemon! I'll get rid of the evil barrel for you!" the Digimon shouted before slashing it to pieces with the points on his tendrils. "But seriously, what kind of low-lifeform dimwit would EVER be stuck it-

A Keremon crawled out of the pieces. "Whew! Finally! I've been stuck in there for hours! I was hopping there'd be food in that barrel too…"

Arata and Kurisarimon looked at it in shock.

"Oh well! I'll look elsewhere! Bye!" He turned around and left.

Kurisarimon glared at Arata who was already snickering. "Don't. Say. A word."

Summer took to the skies with her Staraptor and looked down below. On the path on the east side of the ruins, she found the barrel-shaped trap. "Aha! There it is." They landed and Summer gave it a look. "Hmmm…how to get rid of it…We'll need a specific kind of Pokemon…Ah! I know! Go, Guardian Sign! Jumpluff, come forth!"

"Jum!" The two Jumpluff appeared in a flash of light.

"Hi guys! You mind smashing this thing? Other Pokemon in the area could get caught in it."

"Jump!" The Pokemon bounced to it. They both shot a powerful whirlwind and it smashed it to pieces.

"Thank you!" Summer waved them off as they left. "Okay, let's go see how Ami and Arata are holding up."

They all met up back to the old woman in Tilt Village. "You've trashed all the traps? Thank you, Ranger! Oh, for me to use a slang word like "trash"…I'm so embarrassed."

"Hey, whatever works." Keremon shrugged.

Summer posed. "Quest Clear!"

Ami but a hand at her chin. "It worries me that those guys are still up to no good even without Red Eyes and Blue Eyes. We'd better check out this whole Island."

Ami continued go over her part of the patrol. "Then we checked out the area near Daybreak Ruins and found a man who was worried about a Pokemon called Vulpix who went into the territory of Mightyena. After rescuing it, Summer got a Guardian Sign for the Vulpix. Oh, and it was the first time Arata Digivolved Keremon into Bakemon. After that…

…They returned to Tilt Village. Near the bottom of it, by the entrance of the Dangerous Cliff a young red-headed lady sighed. "I hope my brother's safe and sound…"

"Is something wrong?" Ami asked. She, Summer and Arata were right behind her.

The woman looked at her. "Oh! You're that Cyber Sleuth! Were you listening?"

"I was. Did something happen to your brother?"

"My brother…went out to do some rock climbing, and he's still not back. I'm afraid he might have fallen off the cliff…I can't help worrying. So, I was hoping deeply for his safety then I heard this voice in my head. It said "Get help from the Ranger and Cyber Sleuth," I think…So can I ask you a favor, Ranger?"

"Okay, I can't help but feel that bit was just paranoia." Arata muttered.

"But of course, we'll help." Ami smiled. "What do you say Summer?"

"Quest on!"

The girl bowed her head in appreciation. "My brother is rock climbing at the Dangerous Cliff."

"That hazardous area?!" Palmon asked. "Is he completely bonkers?!"

"Nothing beats this thrill…" is what he often says."

"That sure sounds like something a guy would say." Ami smiled. "I have a brother who does dangerous things too. He worries me to no end as well."

Summer smirked. "Funny. I heard him say the same thing about you."

"Yeah, I don't think you're one to talk Ami." Arata joked.

"Yeah, har, har. Anyway, because of constant rockslides, there are usually boulders in the path. So, we should head out by air. You and I can ride on Sunflowmon, and Summer can take Staraptor."

"Sounds like a plan."

The girl smiled. "Your have a brother, huh?"

"Yup." Ami smiled. "An older brother like you. Kinda makes it hard to get him to listen when I'm the youngest of the family. What about you, got any other siblings?"

"No, just my brother. It's kind of hard when our interests are so different."

"Is that so? Anyway, let's go."

In the middle of the path on the Dangerous Cliff, a lone man wiped sweat from his forehead. Staraptor and Sunflowmon landed near him, startling the man. "Whoa! Oh, hey Ranger! Are you and your friends here for some rock climbing, too? Nothing beats the thrill, don't you think?"

"Ha. We got enough thrill in our lives as it is, thanks." Ami sighed.

"Preaching to the choir on that one." Summer replied. "But more importantly, your sister sent us here. You've been gone for a while and she's worried."

"What? My little sister's worried 'cause I'm not home yet? No need to worry. Really! I'll just make a quick climb to the top and be home in no time. Can you tell her that?"

"Alright…" Ami said. She looked over her shoulder at her friends who nodded to her. "Sunflowmon, Staraptor, take Summer and Arata back at tell her…I'm…going to stay here for a bit."

"Sure thing." Arata said as he and Keremon got back on Sunflowmon. They took off along with Summer and her Staraptor.

"Oh? You want to try rock climbing with me? You must enjoy a good thrill too!"

Ami giggled. "Well, I'm used to thrills. A Cyber Sleuth's work is jam packed with them after all!"

"Oh! You're that detective! So, was that a Digimon with you just now?"

"Hey, you!" Ami and the man looked to the east and two Pokemon Pinchers approached. "You're after thrilling things, aren't you?"

"What do you chumps want?" Ami asked.

"Quiet! I wasn't talking to you! Anyway, as I was saying, We can give you the greatest thrill of all if you want."

The man's eyes lite up. "Whoa! What kind of thrill is that? Regular thrills don't even make me twitch, you know?"

"All we ask is that you pinch these pesky Pokemon for us."

"That's all?" the man sighed. "Where's the thrill in that?"

"They're criminals." Ami said. "They only see thrills in bringing misery upon others."

"You'd better let me finish." The Pincher snickered. "If you fail to pinch these Pokemon for us…we can't guarantee the safety of your precious somebody! How about that? Quite thrilling, isn't it?"

The man shuddered. "My precious somebody? Are you saying…?!"

"That's right. That somebody. We've already taken that somebody. We've been keeping this somebody in a secret place."

Ami held her arm out in front of the man and stepped forward. "You Pinchers really are a load of cowards. You pick on people weaker than you, you abduct Pokemon and treat them like slaves…" She then turned to the man. "…and you'll even stoop to kidnapping this guy's brother just to get him to do your dirty work?"

He eyed Ami oddly. He was about to say something when he saw her wink and decided to play along. "…What business do you have with my brother?"

The other Pincher grinned. "You'd better catch those Pokemon on the cliff before anything happens to your brother! And you, Cyber Sleuth better not get in our way!"

"Yeah, let me think about that for a min-Nope!" Ami said. "Not happening!"

The Pinchers were shocked. "Y-you! Are you willing to let this poor man's brother suffer?"

When the Pinchers stepped closer, Ami looked up. "You can come out now, there's no danger!"

Staraptor and Sunflowmon descended in front of her. As Arata and Summer dismounted, the Hacker brought out Infermon. "Yeah, I figured as much." The boy said.

"It's over, you clowns!" Summer said.

The Pinchers stepped back. "Pokemon…Pokemon Ranger?!"

"Don't even think about it! We have his brother, remember?"

"Brother?" Arata asked.

"No, they don't." Ami grinned. "They're bluffing. They have nobody."

The man's eyes lite up. "Oh, I get it know! Good going detective!"

"Jokes on you two. This guy doesn't have a brother." Ami smugly replied. The Pinchers gasped. "Honestly, the whole "Precious somebody" bit without giving even a gender gave it away. Next time gather some info on your target before making a bold attempt like this, you morons! Intelligence gathering is how we knew two Pinchers were snooping around this area while we were at the village. That's why we planned this out!"

"Argh! So, you don't have a brother?"

The man laughed. "You guys are nitwits! Trying to fool us…only to be tricked by us! Go now, Ranger and detective! Let those nitwits experience the thrill of their life! Fire at will!"

"Uh…right." Ami said.

"Which one's Will?" Infermon joked.

The Pincher growled. "Stop this nonsense!"

"Are you their supervisor or something?"

"That's actually a good question." Arata muttered.

The two Pinchers turned to each other. Well, we'd better make the first move! Go, Pokemon!" They thrusted their Control Gauntlets and three Sableye jumped at the team.

"Let's go, Sunflowmon!"

DIGIVOLUTION

"Sunflowmon Digivolve to…Lillymon!"

"Staraptor, Arial Ace!" Summer gave the order and Staraptor slammed its beak into one of the Sableye.

"Gia Element!"

"Destruction Cannon!" The remaining two were bested by the Digimon. Once they stopped moving Summer used her Styler on them.

"You're pretty good." The Pincher said calmly. "But how about these?" They sent a Marshshtomp and a Anorith at them.

"Ami, the blue one's double weak to Grass!" Summer said.

"Then this is an easy win! Lillymon!"

"Flower Cannon!" Lillymon blasted at Marshtomp, knocking it out in one hit.

Anorith didn't last much longer. It charged at Infermon only to get knocked aside. "Is that your best?" he scoffed.

The Pinchers gulped. "Erk! Not even that worked."

"No choice. Time for the secret weapon. Hey, you! You're on!"

"Finally!" A GrapLeamon stepped over to them cracking his knuckles.

"Wait…wasn't that the Digimon Red Eyes had with him?!" Summer gasped.

"No, we saw Takumi destroy it." Arata said. "It must be a different Digimon of the same species."

The GrapLeomon looked at the team. "So these are them, right? Those guys you insisted I fight?"

"That's right!" the Pincher replied. "They're super strong! Even our leaders were no match for them!"

"Alright! Let's rumble!"

"What is with this guy?" Summer asked.

"Something about this one…seems familiar…" Ami said.

"Save the nostalgia trip for later!" Arata said. "Here he comes!"

The lion-like Digimon charged towards Infermon. "Spider Shooter!" It fired repeatedly at GrapLeamon.

"Agility Charge!" The Digimon stopped his advance and carefully dodged every attack. He then closed the gap and attacked. "NanomachineBreak!" He then punched Infermon in the face, knocking it back. He heard Lillymon come from behind with a kick, but caught her by the foot and flung it back upward making her spin uncontrollable. "Cross Counter!" While she was spinning her punched her into the stone wall.

"Oh man, he's fast!" Summer said. "Staraptor, Brave Bird!"

Summer's Partner charged at him. He caught the bird by the head but was still pushed against the wall, struggling to push it back. But eventually he flung Staraptor upward and jumped after him. "The King of Fists!" With a multi hit combo of punches, he pummelled the bird.

"Ha! Not so tough now, are you!" one of the Pinchers gloated.

"Alright, time for a cavalry." Summer jumped into the air, launched her Styler, and drew a shape. "Go, Guardian Sign! Buneary, come forth!"

Four Buneary jumped out of the light. "Pha! You actually think those furballs will make a difference!" the other Pincher gloated.

"Buneary, surround him and attack!"

GrapLeomon punched at one of them, but it jumped over his fist and latched onto his fist. "Hey! Get off!" He pulled it off and threw it to the ground. Then another jumped onto him from behind and another onto his shoulder. He shook them off but the other two jumped onto hit. No matter how many times he shook them off, they got back up. "Persistent little guys, aren't ya!"

"Lillymon, pin him down!" Ami ordered.

"Ha!" Lilymon got his arms in a hold from behind. The four Buneary pinned his feet to the ground. "Now Arcadiamon!"

"Spider Shooter!" Infermon shot him multiple times in the cheats. GrapLeomon had no hope of evading.

"Better move Buneary!" The Pokemon got off and Lillymon lifted GrapLeomon up and slammed her feet into his back, launching him into the air. "Staraptor!" She then flew straight up. Summer's Pokemon slammed into GrapLeomon in the air and flung him to the ground. Lillymon who was now above him aimed her cannon down. "Flower Cannon!" She blasted him with a green light. He laid in the resulting crater an tried to pull himself us, but ultimately dropped to the ground.

Ami turned to the Pinchers. "Got anything else you want to try throwing at us?"

The Pinchers shuddered. "Hmph! You'll regret this! Hey, let's flee on the Z.Z. Flyers!"

The other Pincher glared at his teammate. "Are you some kind of twit? We don't have Z.Z. Flyers!"

"Oh, that's right! Well, we'd better go zip-zoom fleeing, then!"

"Oh for-Don't tell me that's what Z.Z. stands for!" Arata groaned as they left. "And Nokia thinks I'm a nerd."

"That was quite a thrill." The man applauded. "I must thank you for that, Ranger!"

"If you're going to thank anyone, thank that little sister you worried." Ami replied. "I'm in the same boat as her. Just because you're older doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to her every now and then."

The man looked down. "…I knew my little sis was worried. I think I heard her concern from here. That's why I told her this in my head: "Why don't you ask the Ranger to come check on me if you are that worried?" I wonder if she somehow heard me…"

Everyone eyed him oddly. "Are you saying you and your sister have psychic powers or something?" Arata sceptically asked.

"Yeah, right." Summer chuckled.

"Brothers and sisters share a special bond." Ami smiled. "Trust me, I know."

"Whohoo!" GrapLeomon sprung to his feet. "That was an awesome battle!"

"He's still ticking?!" Arata growled.

"Man, you guys are good! Let's do this again sometime!"

"Huh?" Summer blinked. "Aren't you going with the Pinchers?"

"Pinchers? Oh, you mean those two? Nah, they just told me they knew someone who could give me a thrilling battle. And they were right!"

The man laughed. "So, you like thrills too, huh?"

"Oh, you wouldn't believe it!"

"Why don't you join me? I'm about to do one last climb before heading home."

"Now that sounds like fun! You're on!"

Lillymon whispered to Ami. "Now I remember. I think he's the GrapLeomon that was in that video game we were asked to investigate."

"Oh, yeah." Ami muttered. "I guess he's still just looking for a fun time."

The man smiled at Ami's group. "Tell my little sister that her brother is all right, perhaps thanks to her thinking about me."

Ami winked. "Sure thing."

The young lady smiled as she heard Summer and Ami's report. "I see. He said my cry was heard?"

"Supposedly." Arata replied.

"Anyway, I'm relieved that my brother's safe. Ranger, thank you very much."

"Quest Clear!" Summer posed. "Well, it looks like we did all we could here. Want to go see what Rand's doing in Cocona Village?"

"Yeah, guess we should head back." Arata nodded.

Ami closed her eyes. "You hear that Takumi? We're on our way back, so don't keep us waiting."

On Sophian Island Ben captured a Staraptor. "Okay, next stop, Cocona Village."

"We should hurry." Takumi said, climbing onto Rapidmon. "Ami's on her way back."

"Huh? How do you know that?" Nokia asked taking his hand.

"She's my sister. I just know."

"So, what, that makes you psychic or something?" Ben sarcastically asked as he and Pichu got on the Staraptor.

"You two are weird." Nokia added.

Takumi smiled as Rapidmon and Staraptor took off. "On my way, sis."

Yukino laughed. "You two always had a very special connection when it came to each other. Even when you were little."

"Everyone has a special connection." Takumi smiled. "Because we're all connected in some way or another."

"That's right." Ami nodded. "No matter what you are or what world you live in…Ben…Summer…we'll always be chasing our dreams side by side."
