In Canal Ruins, Arata, along with Ryuji, Chitose, Kate, and Keith were on patrol. "Is it always raining in this area?" Chitose asked.

"24/7." Arata replied.

"Man, that's depressing." Keith muttered.

"Or romantic depending on the situation." Chitose grinned.

"Yeah, don't get any funny ideas." Kate rolled her eyes.

A Ruin Maniac then spotted them. And he looked right at Keith's Pokemon. "Hey! You! Stop right there!"

"Huh?" Keith was the first to turn around as they stopped.

The man ran at them. "I found you, you unruly thief! Now give back that…" He stopped when he got a closer look at the orange Pokemon. "Wait…you're not a Floatzel."

"This is a Buizel, the previous form of Floatzel." Keith replied.

"Opps…sorry."

Arata looked at him. "Wait, I know you. Aren't you the guy who had me, Takumi, Ami, and Nokia chase after that letter you lost?"

The man looked at him. "Oh! You're one of the New Heroes of Oblivia who helped me before! Great! Maybe you can help me again!"

Chitose turned to him. "What's this about a letter?"

Arata folded his arms. "Well, before you guys came to this world, we were going on regular patrols around the region. One of them was at Canal Ruins where we ran into this guy."

Arata, Takumi, Ami, and Nokia were patrolling Canal Ruins on their own when they spotted a Ruin Maniac panicking. "Oh, what should I do?"

"Is something wrong sir?" Ami asked as she and her little group approached him.

"I worked all night putting together a report regarding the old ruins…Only to get it taken away by a Pokemon! I wrote it for Prof. Leanne!"

"Prof." Leanne?" Ami asked.

"Cyber Sleuths, I beg you! Please get my report back from this unruly Pokemon!"

"We're on the case!" Takumi smiled.

"Yeah, if it helps Leanne, that's enough for us." Nokia nodded.

"Do you know what Pokemon took it?" Arata asked.

The man nodded. "The moon was out, so I saw it clearly. The Pokemon that took my report was Azumarill! It ran towards Silver Falls…"

"What would a Pokemon want with a report on ruins anyway?" Terriermon asked.

"You got me! I'm sure it can't read the report, so why did it take it?"

"Is something wrong?" Ami asked. "You look a tad flustered."

"…Ahem. Please do not read the report when you get it."

"Why?" Takumi asked.

"It's not embarrassing or anything, but I don't think you can understand it."

"Um, rude!" Ami scowled. "I'll have you know my brother and I have been learning a lot from Leanne and Kyoko!"

"Ignore him Ami." Arata replied. "Let's just get that thing back."

"Alright, fine."

MegaGargomon, Rosemon, WarGreymon, and MetalGarurumon carried Takumi, Ami, Nokia, Arata and Keremon as they flew over Silver Falls. "See anything?" MgeaGargomon asked.

"Just more Carvanha." Takumi replied.

Just when they reached the waterfall was, they looked at the path to the side to see a Azumarill happily trotting about. "Is that it?" Ami asked.

Arata scanned it. "Yup. Azumarill. Water/Fairy Type. Because it can store a large volume of air, it can spend all day in the water."

"Look!" Nokia pointed at the Azumarill and it held up a letter. "That's gotta be it!"

"You know…it just occurs to me now…" Ami muttered. "None of us have Capture Stylers, do we?"

"Not really. So?"

"So, how are we going to catch this thing?"

"Well, we could always call Rand." Keremon replied. "It'll be a bit of a wait though."

"We don't need Rand." MegaGargomon replied as he started floating down towards Azumarill.

"Uh, what are you doing?" Takumi asked.

Azumarill was unaware of them until a giant shadow enveloped it. It turned around and saw the massive Digimon looming over it and screamed. It shot a burst of water at his face, but he didn't even flinch. Then he grabbed the Pokemon in his large hand. "Jeez, MegaGargomon, don't crush the guy!" Nokia yelled.

"Relax, he's fine."

Takumi looked at the screaming and crying Pokemon. "He doesn't look fine to me."

"Let's just take him back to whatshisface and be done with this."

"Did you catch that unruly Pokemon?"

MegaGargomon plopped the Azumarill down in front of the Ruin Maniac. "Here ya go."

"Thank you!" The man walked up to it. "Please listen carefully, Azumarill. The report you took away happens to be the one that will change the history of archeology. A new breeze is blowing. It needs to go to Prof. Leanne immediately, you see? Please give it back."

The Pokemon tilted his head. "Azu?"

"He means that piece of paper you took." Ami replied.

"Piece of paper"?!" The archaeologist scowled. "That's a beautiful piece of-

"You said yourself the Pokemon wouldn't understand it, I'm just saying it the way it likely sees it."

Azumarill's eyes lit up as it remembered the paper in its hand. It walked over to the man and gave it back. "That's a good Pokemon!" the man smiled.

The Pokemon then dove into the water and swam away. Just then MetalGarurumon started sniffing. "What's that scent in the air?"

Nokia's noise perked up. "I dunno, but it smells kinda sweet. A perfume maybe?"

"Did you put some on?" Takumi asked. "Is that what this is?"

"Pfft! No way! This stuff's way too strong! A proper girl knows how much is enough! This is overdoing it!"

"Wait a second…" Ami turned her head towards the Ruin Maniac. "Is it just me or is it coming from…?"

"…Something you want to tell us fella?" Arata asked.

"So that's why Azumarill was attracted to the report." Takumi muttered.

The man's face turned red. "What are you saying? What's wrong with writing on scented stationery with flower patterns? It's still a report!" All four of the teens gave him a smug look. "What? Are you not convinced? You think this is not a report but a love letter? You think so? Of course not!"

"We didn't say anything." Ami replied.

"Well, you were totally thinking it! And this is really a report! A report about my secret love! …Oh, no! Did I accidently tell you the truth?! …Am I blushing? Er…too embarrassed…S-see you!"

Takumi and his friends watched the man run off. "First Nate now this guy." Nokia said. "Leanne has some strange lover fans."

"Is that what we're calling them now?" Ami giggled.

Chitose laughed. "Lover fans"? Yeah right."

"That was about a month ago." Arata said. "So anyway, what's new? Did you finally send that "report" in?"

"Pardon me for panicking before." The man replied. "I sent that love le…I mean, I sent that report to Prof. Leanne after that."

"Good for you." Kate replied. "So, what happened after that?"

"Then I got a reply right away! To be honest I was worried what she'd say so I was hesitant to read it this whole time…but then I decided it was time to finally just read it."

"And?" Ryuji asked.

"Then that letter was taken away, too…by Floatzel this time!"

"Wow, really?" Keremon asked. "You got no luck fella."

He turned to Arata. "Hero, I beg you again! And if you got Rangers this time, all the better if they can help! Please get the reply from Prof. Leanne back from this unruly Floatzel!"

Kate and Keith posed. "Quest On!"

"And there's your reply." Chitose said. "And don't overlook me and Ryuji, we'll help too!"

"You're oddly enthusiastic about this." Ryuji muttered.

"This Floatzel has no right to mess with a man's heart!"

"Thank you!" the archeologist smiled.

"Where did this Pokemon go?" Monodramon asked.

"Floatzal ran away to the Oblivia Ruins."

"Oh yeah, you guys mentioned that place a few times before." Chitose said. "Where is that again?"

"Behind Silver Falls where the Azumarill from last time was." Arata replied. "Anyway, since we have Rangers this time, getting it back here should go a lot smoother."

"Alright." Ryuji said. "Lead the way Arata."

Arata rode Darkdramon into the cave behind Silver Falls. Ryuji followed behind with Justimon, and Shakkoumon carried Chitose and the Rangers. One by one they landed in the cave. "Wow, a ruins hidden behind a waterfall, huh?" Kate asked. "I gotta hand it to Ravio's people, if you didn't show us this, we'd probably never would have found it."

"We only found it because Nema was carrying a tracker when she, Leanne, and Kyoko were kidnapped by Purple Eyes and brought here." Arata replied.

"Didn't Sabios say this place used to be a castle of some sort for Oblivia's king and queen?" Ryuji asked.

"Yeah. He said they remodeled the Light Temple into this. Anyway, be careful in here. The place is guarded by Claydol. If they spot you, they'll teleport you somewhere else."

Keith huffed. "Oh goody, we can have a repeat of what happened with Palkia."

"Don't remind me." Kate groaned.

"Alright, let's get moving." Ryuji waved the team forward as he started moving in.

In the same room where Takumi, Ami, Kyoko, Leanne, and Nate previously found the passageway leading to the Griseous Orb a lone Floatzal was spotted. "That looks like a grown-up version of Buizel." Chitose said. "That's the one we're looking for, right?"

Ryuji scanned it. "Floatzel. Water Type. That sac on it's body lets it carry people. It's common in ports and makes a habit of rescuing others."

"Pokemon that lifeguard, huh? That's convenient." Arata said. "Alright, you Rangers know what to do."

"You bet we do. Capture on!" Kate and Keith shot their Stylers at Floatzel and stylishly captured it. "Alright! Capture complete! That was easy!"

"Good. Let's head back." Ryuji said.

"Halt!" Something then jumped out of the water nearby. It was a white and blue creature with a harpoon and a machine on his back.

"It talked. Is that a Digimon?" Keith asked.

Arata scanned it. "Divermon Ultimate Data Type. Specializes in moving underwater thanks to the high-speed Motor on its back."

"A Digimon? Here?" Ryuji asked.

It took aim at them. "So, you humans came back to take more of them, have you? Release that poor creature before I tear you to pieces!"

"Wait, what do you mean back to take-

"Striking Fish!" Divermon jumped towards Chitose with his weapon out, but Shokkoumon intercepted him and blocked the attack. Divermon jumped backwards and landed on his feet. "Hmph! You cowards still enslave others to fight your battles for you? I'll make you pay for that!"

"Seriously, what are you talking about?!" Keith asked.

"Don't play dumb with me! I know that three months ago, a bunch of you humans charged in here and used strange gadgets on your wrists to manipulate the inhabitants of these ruins!"

"Wait a sec…could he be talking about the Pokemon Pinchers?" Arata asked.

"Enough talk! Face me now!" Divermon charged at them again.

"Divermon, wait!" Otamamon ran into the room with Yu close behind.

The Digimon came to a halt. "Otamamon?! Is that you?!"

"Yu! What are you doing here?!" Ryuji asked.

"Otamamon, heard that his teacher was seen in this area, so we went to investigate."

"How'd you even get in here? This place is behind a waterfall!" Chitose said.

"I rode on my partner as Whamon through the river."

Divermon growled. "You fiends! Now you've manipulated even my precious student? No amount of begging will give you forgiveness! Face my-

"DIVERMON, JUST LISTEN!" Otamamon shouted. "These humans didn't brainwash anyone! They're good people!"

"What are you saying? I just saw them abduct that poor creature!"

"We did nothing of the sort!" Kate retorted. "These Stylers convey our feelings of trust to a Pokemon to convince them to lend us their aid!"

"It's true! They used them to save all sorts of Pokemon from bad people!" Otamamon nodded.

Divermon looked into his eyes. "You…you're serious?"

"Of course!"

"What you saw three months ago was the Pokemon Pincher with their Control Gauntlets." Darkdramon said. "They were the ones who enslaved Pokemon and Digimon."

"Not all humans are as evil as them." Justimon added. "Such as my partner Ryuji. Or Yu, the human Otamamon chose as a partner. Together, with these humans we defeated those who enslave our kind once and for all."

Divermon put his weapon away. "I see…it would appear that I acted rashly. My apologies."

"Well, now that that's cleared up, how ya doing Divermon?" Otamamon asked.

"Well, I was swimming freely with the Pokemon in the river near here. Then when I saw those humans with the strange vehicles, I followed them here and saw what they did. I tried to chase them out, but that Digimon with the red mask and black cape was dangerously strong. I barely escaped with my life. Ever since they left, I've been guarding this place."

"So, you know this guy?" Kate asked.

"Yup! He taught me how to swim!" Otamamon replied.

"Well, I'm sure you guys have a lot to catch up on, so we'll leave you be." Keith said.

"Yeah, it looks like you guys were in the middle of something." Yu said. "I just wanted to meet Otamamon's teacher. He says all kinds of cool things about him! Anyway, I wouldn't want to make you wait on our account."

"Yeah, we're in the middle of a Quest here, so we should get going. Our client must be anxious by now." Justimon said.

"And don't worry about Floatzel here." Kate said. "Once we do what we need to do, we'll release it."

"Very well." Divermon replied. "If Otamamon insists you can be trusted, I'll hold you to your word."

"Alright, let's head back to "lover fan"." Arata said.

The Ruin Maniac jumped for joy at the sight of Floatzel. "The letter from Prof. Leanne is back! I'm so grateful! The man stepped towards the Pokemon. "Please listen carefully, Floatzel. The letter you took away happens to be the one from Prof. Leanne, and it's most likely a love letter. Do you see? You have to give it back." The Pokemon handed him the letter. "That's a good Pokemon!" The man held the letter Floatzal gave him with a smile on his face and opened the envelope.

Buizel then noticed something. "Bui? Bui, Buizel!"

"What's wrong pal?" Keith asked.

"Hey, do you guys smell something sweet?" Kate asked.

Arata squinted. "Waaaaaaait a minute, I know what this is."

The man looked at it. "Hmm. This is strange…I don't think Prof. Leanne would use scented paper like I did…But I do smell a sweet scent." He then turned away to read privately. "Well, I should read it anyway. I'm so excited! But I'll read it alone, and quietly…"

While he was reading Kate whispered to Keith. "You don't think…"

The man gasped. "This is the very report I sent to her. Did she just return it to me?"

"That explains why a Pokemon stole it. Again." Darkdramon replied.

"That's not all she did." The Ruin Maniac said. "She's proofread it and corrected my mistakes."

"You mean like spelling and grammar?" Arata asked. "Huh. I didn't think Leanne would care enough about that compared to the stuff about the ruins."

"That's not it. She's corrected the mistakes regarding the history and the ruins…She's not going easy on me, but she did so in a courteous manner…My report does become a bit like a love letter at one point. She wrote in big letters there… "I have a wonderful husband named Rand. We even have a cute daughter named Nema. Please accept my apologies."

"Wait, you didn't know Leanne was married?" Keith asked.

"I had no idea! I can't hide my shock!"

"Sta?" Starly tilted his head.

Chitose sighed. "That's life I'm afraid."

"I should apologize too." Arata sighed. "See, since what happened last time, Takumi, Ami, Nokia and I talked about telling you, but none of us had the heart to say…"

"No, don't apologize. It isn't your fault. Still…Prof. Leanne may be strict yet kind. I'm a bigger fan of hers than ever before now!"

The wild Floatzel sighed. "Zel… Zel…" It then ran off.

Everyone stared for a moment. "Well…" Keith said. "Only one thing to do." He and Kate posed. "Quest Clear!"

Yu and Otamamon walked up to them. "There you guys are!" Yu said. "So, how'd your Quest go?"

"Awkwardly, but it's done now." Ryuji said. "So, Otamamon, how's your teacher?"

"He's doing awesome! He's honing his skills by racing other Pokemon underwater! He can even move faster then that Floatzel guy!"

"Really?" Kate asked. "Floatzel's underwater speed's nothing to scoff at. That's impressive."

"Anyway, he and Yu got along well, so hopefully he'll learn to trust you humans."

"If the first ones he encountered were the Pinchers it's understandable that he was given a bad first impression…"

"I'm just glad he understands that not all humans are evil." Yu smiled.

Monodramon turned to Arata. "If you guys were serious about uniting humans and Digimon someday, this is a good chance to leave a good impression on Digimon who are unsure of them like Divermon."

Arata nodded. "You're not wrong. It's a long road ahead to make that dream a reality."

Ryuji smiled. "Well, that burden isn't just for you guys to bear. A world with humans and Digimon…I would like to see that someday too."

Chitose nodded. "Same here."

Yu nodded. "Definitely!"

Arata smiled back. "Thanks guys…"

Keith grinned as he and Kate watched. "You know? I think these guys can make it happen."

Kate giggled. "That's true. They'll make their dreams come true just as we did. A pledge that they share…"
