I do not own Shokugeki no Soma. I only own this fanfic's story, and any new characters introduced within it.
9:00 AM, The Chandra's Room
"Let's see what the Maestro of Platinum Dishes has to offer today," Mana said eagerly, holding a fork in hand.
...
"I'm sorry could you repeat that?" Kuga asked in a now slightly condescending tone.
"That man is my brother, Haruka Tadokoro."
"WHAT?!" Everyone yelled at the same time.
"He- When- How- What- Why-" Alice stuttered, moving her gaze back and forward between Haru and Megumi, now noticing the similarities.
"Megumi, you mentioned that Erina-sama doesn't stand a chance against your brother, why is that?" Hisako asked calmly.
"Well, you see... Haru used to be a member of the Totsuki Elite Ten, in fact, he used to be the first seat." Megumi started.
"The first seat? Then how is it none of us have never heard of him-"
"Because..." Satoshi cut Hisako off.
"... He was a part of Totsuki's 88th generation, the Forgotten Generation."
"The Forgotten Generation? They must have been terrible at cooking if they ended up being called The Forgotten Generation." Alice chuckled.
"They may have been forgotten, but that doesn't mean they were terrible at cooking," Megumi responded.
"If it wasn't for the fact that Haru was a part of the 88th Generation, all of you would never have thought the Magistri Carmina Cantino was a real person," Satoshi added
"The Magi- what now?" Kuga asked with a dumb look on his face.
"It means the Master of Platinum Dishes." Nene retorted.
"I thought that was supposed to be some myth about a chef who was supposedly one of the best to ever walk Totsuki grounds, and that it was some sort of standard for all students to aspire to..." Eizan slowed down realizing what he had just said.
"Wait- That guy is supposed to be the Magistri Carmina Cantino?!" Takumi demanded.
"Can we not refer to this guy by a stupid title? C'mon guys, this is Erina, she's come so far, there's no way she could lose at a time like this! Have some faith!" Alice called out.
...
Haru revealed his dish and immediately the room was filled with the smell of enchantment, there really wasn't another way to describe it.
"This dish, it looks like a casserole of sorts..." Anne said, shaking as she brought her fork up to the layered platter.
"This is a Peruvian dish, known as Causa Rellena. It is indeed a layered dish, and while it looks like an exaggerated potato casserole, it is actually deceptively easy to make." Mana said while bringing her fork to her mouth.
"'Causa' is a word derived from 'giver of life' as potatoes were considered as such by the ancient Incans." Gin added.
"All three of you are correct, however, I've modified this dish in the face of a breakfast theme. This is-"
He bowed to the judges.
"Carmina Style Causa Limeña 4.0"
"Why'd he have to number it…" Nene grumbled
Haru's ear started throbbing as if he could hear her from all the way down at the judges table, and that was because, well, he could in fact hear her.
"THAT'S BECAUSE... I spent exactly four tries getting this right." He enunciated.
"Only four tries?!" Alice screeched.
"Who the hell is this guy..." Akira mumbled.
Haru and the others were so busy throwing insults at each other that they hadn't even noticed the judges had finished, literally.
...
"What just happened?..." Anna asked, trying to get up from her seat, seemingly in a trance.
"We... Finished our plates, and didn't even get to judge them." Gin muttered.
"That is probably the first time I've eaten something without stopping to think about the taste..." Mana began.
"It was that good?..." Erina thought to herself, now starting to become anxious.
"Oh well, it seems I only have one more plate... Anyone?" Haru asked, holding up a platter in his hands.
"ME!" Gin, Anne, and Mana all cried out in unison, much like five-year olds waiting for their share of ice cream.
"Um, that was-" Mana started
"Uncalled for." Gin finished, straightening his vest.
"Well, let's not be rash now, who hasn't had their share yet... hmm." Haru began, looking around the judges.
Haru caught Erina's gaze. With a smirk, he walked up to her, as if he had this planned from the start.
"How about the little prodigy herself? She hasn't tried it yet."
"WHAT?! IS THAT EVEN ALLOWED?! DON'T DO IT ERINA!" Alice screamed from her seat.
"Well I suppose it wouldn't be fair to give it to any one judge, and Erina does possess the God Tongue, so any decision she makes shouldn't be biased." Gin sighed.
Erina took the plate reluctantly, it wasn't screaming to be eaten, or even to be looked at, but it had some sort of allure that Erina could not shift her gaze from.
"Let's see... if you can even give it even one negative comment, I'll forfeit and get Soma back right this instant."
This is okay, all I need to do is give him one criticism and he'll recant, then Soma will come back...
The picosecond she closed her mouth around the portion of the dish, Erina blacked out, not literally but she couldn't see anything.
Then somehow she opened her eyes, and she could see herself eating the food, as if her soul had just left her body and she could see what was going on from a different perspective.
It was a horrid sight, Erina could see herself scarfing down heaps of the dish, while the judges looked in horror, realizing that's what they looked like moments before.
Then, as if he could see her, Haru turned to look at Erina with a grin on his face, as if this same reaction had happened with other people before.
She needed to get back to her body.
She somehow forced her way back in and was instantly met by the fury of pure flavor; she could feel it overloading each of her taste buds with, she wasn't even sure what to call it.
...
Ecstasy, that was it, that's what it felt like, and she had no way of stopping it. This whole time she believed her god tongue was the ultimate tool she needed to reach the top of the culinary food chain, an unstoppable force.
But here she was, put into a grinding halt by the immovable object that was Haruka Tadokoro.
...
"Damn... it..." She uttered.
...
*CRASH!*
Then Erina blacked out, quite literally this time.
Author's Note: That was Season 1 you guys! So, so, so sorry for the extremely late upload, there were some family emergencies, and my wifi even crashed at one point :/. Anyway, I think I'll take a little break from this series for a while, and get to work on some other fanfics in the meantime. Thank you all for understanding, and don't worry, there's more to come in Season 2 so look out for that! If you have any ideas for new fanfics, shout 'em out and I'll definitely consider them. As always, thank you for reading, and I will see you in the next FanFic, bye now!
