— Code Blue —
Nothingness.
Darkness surrounded Percy.
The blackness that enveloped him was the kind that only came with unconsciousness. And, as most commonly happened, he learned things he hated. He saw things that he never wanted to see, but ended up helpful at some point.
This time, there were terrible things that were impending.
He was out of his own body.
He looked upon himself from a distance, facing a wall made entirely of stone. It seemed like a cavern of some sort, judging by the jagged edges of the rock and the stalagmites and stalactites that jutted from overhead and all around him. As much as he tried to look around, he couldn't do it for some reason. He could hear faint voices, though, but he had to strain to listen and make out what they were saying.
"Do you think he's actually doing anything? There's no way we're actually going to get anything out of that idiot."
In his detached state of mind, Percy had a faint inkling that they could be talking about him, but his thoughts were fleeting, so it didn't register with him. If he would've been in a conscious state of mind, he would have shuddered at the sight of his own body that he could see. He was curled in on himself, his arms holding onto his legs for dear life. His skin was pale, paler than usual, and his clothes were torn and burned. It reminded him of the way Nico looked when he was surviving on nothing but pomegranate seeds. The only difference was that Percy was seemingly surviving on nothing; his body was emaciated, the color of his skin sickly.
"We have no choice. He has our mark, but there are risks, I admit. There is still a prominent possibility that he can switch over at any time. He has no motivation to help us, not just yet. That being said, we have to give him a reason."
The voices faded into the background for a moment, a ringing in Percy's ears drowning out any exterior sounds.
You're wrong
but you can't go back.
You give me no choice
so your trail I track.
I can't tell you what to do
but I hope you see this through.
You made your choice
now you must find your voice.
Wake up, I say.
Keep these thoughts at bay.
Wake up, you think.
You're on the brink…
