"What up Camp Cretaceous, woo-hoo!" Darius yells, entering the main room hyped up.
"We're not in a woo-hoo mood this morning Darius." Kenji tells him, lazing around on a chair.
"Not after yesterday. Because trekking through a rainstorm will do that." Kenji adds, glaring at Ben.
"We only had to walk because you crashed our gyrosphere." Ben counters.
"But today's a new day. Kayak day. Who doesn't want to paddle alongside dinosaurs. Wait, where are Dave and Roxy?" Darius tells the group, before realizing that their counselors are missing, as is Brooklynn.
"The babysitters took off early and left this." Kenji says annoyed, handing Darius a piece of paper, which he then reads.
"Another kid was supposed to join today, but how things are going right now... Roxy was concerned to let Masaraki's nephew join." 10k informs him, while Darius reads the card.
A loud bang then echoes through the room and Brooklynn is standing in the doorway with an angry expression.
"Brooklynn, what's new on the internet superstar?" Yasmina asks sarcastically.
"I wouldn't know. Because someone stole my phone!" Brooklynn says pissed off, glaring at Sammy, while 10k's attention also wanders to the overly cheerful girl.
"Brooklynn, who hasn't had your phone?" Yasmina asks her and everyone else in the room, says the last time they borrowed the pinkette's phone.
"I haven't seen it either." Sammy says from her seat next to Yasmina.
"Really?" Brooklynn asks suspiciously.
"Hey, since we're not kayaking until later we have plenty of time to look for the phone." Darius suggests.
"Oh, I know where to look, because I think that whoever took the phone is trying to hide things that are on it. Right Sammy?" Brooklynn says, staring at Sammy.
"Uhm, what?" Sammy stammers.
"What is your deal, Sammy said she didn't touch it." Yasmina defends her friend.
"Well, let's check her bags and test that theory out." Brooklynn says.
"You do not get to go through anyone's stuff."
"Brooklynn, she's right. Let's just call your number and we'll probably be able to hear it ring." 10k suggests, picking up the landline phone in the room, while focusing his eyes on Sammy, which doesn't go unnoticed by anyone of the group.
"Yeah, do that!" Yasmina says, upset 10k seems to be taking Brooklynn's side.
Before Brooklynn can dial her number however a loud roar catches everyone's attention.
"Uhm, what was that?" Yasmina asks unsettled by the noise.
"A T-Rex?" Kenji suggests.
"Nah, they sound different. I haven't heard that sound yet anywhere on the Island." 10k tells them, walking towards the balcony with the others.
"Where is it coming from?" Sammy asks.
"We can't see anything from here. These trees are blocking everything." Yaz says.
"We can probably see whatever it is from the observation tower. It could be cool." Darius suggests.
"That's a great idea Darius. Let's go!" Sammy says, dragging Darius and Yaz towards the elevator with everyone following, although not quite as excited about it.
"It's locked." Kenji says, having tried to pull open the door of the observation tower.
"Oh well, guess we can't get in." Ben says, hoping to return to their Camp.
"Wait a second, where is everybody? Usually there's someone around." Kenji asks, noticing the absence of other humans.
"If we're doing this, let's do it." Brooklynn says, taking her hairclip and opens the gate's lock.
"What? You didn't see my hacks for when you lock yourself out of your hotel room video?" She asks, while sticking the clip back on her hair.
The teens then have a race to the top of the platform.
"No more stairs!" Kenji whines, while everyone but 10k and Yaz are out of breath from the race.
A loud thumping noise is then heard and the teens hurry to one side of the observation tower, from where they can see a brachiosaurus stomp through the jungle.
"That doesn't make sense. Brachiosaurus's don't sound like that roar from earlier." Darius says confused.
They then hear two park employees yell something up at them, but no one can make out what they're saying.
The roar is then heard again, and they see the brachiosaurus go down.
"To the stairs everyone." 10k says and the teens are about to walk down the stairs, when 10k calls out another order, saying "scratch that, to the harnesses."
"What, why?" Kenji asks, going back to the platform's edge, looking over it again with the others mirroring his action.
They then witness a large dinosaur eating the two men below with one big bite each, causing the teens to shriek back shocked.
"What is that?" Yasmina asks fearfully.
"Dr. Wu's lab. There was a design for a dinosaur." Brooklynn says, freaking out.
"Indominous Rex." Sammy gasps.
"How so you know that name?" Brooklynn asks her accusingly.
"But there's no dinosaur with that name." Darius tells them.
"Forget about its name for now. We need to get out of here, get on the harnesses everyone." 10k tells them and moments later four of the seven teens are sliding down the steel rope one after another, before halfway down the rope the emergency break activate, stopping them in place, probably caused by the enormous Dinosaur, which is gradually destroying the observation tower they're on.
"What's the problem?" 10k shouts over to the four stuck teens.
"It must be emergency breaks!" Brooklynn yells back.
"Uh, great." 10k groans annoyed.
"What if we knock them loose?" Darius suggests.
"That's as good idea as any." 10k says.
"Yaz, get in the harness." 10k tells her.
"Now what?" She asks, until she feels an arm circle around her from behind while a hand grabs onto the harness's pole above her head.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Yaz asks upset, finding the arm around her stomach a little too close to her breasts.
"Just bear with it OK? If we survive this you can kick my ass all you want later." 10k tells her, the direness of the situation evident in his voice.
"OK guys, catch me." Darius says running at them at top speeds while 10k gradually walks backwards off the platform, matching his speed with Darius's so that he jumps into them while they are on the platforms edge.
Yaz grabs onto the smaller teen with 10k also trying his best to help from behind her. The ball of three people then crash into Kenji, who was the last one to get stuck and his break releases, creating a chain reaction with everyone sliding down the steel wire, until the dinosaur causes the tower to collapse and making the seven teens plummet to the jungle below.
"Everyone alright?" 10k asks, while helping Yasmina, who landed on him to her feet.
As reply he hears moaning and complains from everyone.
"I'll take that as a yes." 10k groans and the group hear yet another roar of the enormous saur, which just destroyed the observation tower.
"We have to run, now!" Sammy says after checking on the phone in her pocket, which she stole and which is now totaled.
"Everything will be fine when we get back to camp!" Darius says while all of them are running through the jungle, with 10k watching their rear.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that. That thing came from the camps direction." 10k tells the group.
A few minutes later they arrive at their campsite, which is now in pieces with the entry point only being a pile of boards and the elevator is also not functioning. The housing above seems to be in good condition, but there simply is no way up there.
"Dave, Roxy, the other workers they must have gotten away." Sammy says more for herself than anyone.
"Not quite." 10k corrects her, looking into the wreck of a knocked over car.
"Hello? Hello? Can anybody hear me?" Yasmina says, hitting a radio a few times in frustration.
"Yaz." 10k says, popping open a part of the radio and a handful of destroyed wires jumps out.
"We're on our own." Darius says, before looking up to their rooms, thinking of his necklace.
"Give me my phone! I don't care about you sneaking into Wu's office. I don't care whatever you did with the samples of the cinoceratops. All I want to do is call for help, now where is it?" Brooklynn says desperately, almost begging Sammy.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about. Skin samples?" Sammy says feigning ignorance after freezing up.
"Back off, not everything is about you and your stupid phone." Yasmina tells Brooklynn while Sammy walks over to the athlete.
"Would you guys keep it down? There is a big..." Ben whispers.
"A big scary dinosaur? Of course there is. There'll always be a big scary dinosaur." Kenji tells Ben annoyed.
"Looks like the group is about to fall apart. They need you to put them back together." 10k tells Darius, rummaging through the wreckage near where the younger teen is standing.
"Why don't you do it?" Darius asks, feeling lost without his necklace.
"They don't trust me. They'll trust you however." 10k tells him, nodding at the five teens who are close to a fistfight.
"We're alone. We're defenseless. We're dead!" Ben shouts, ending the fight with everyone giving up.
"I will help you, while you help them. Deal?" 10k suggests, offering a handshake towards Darius.
"We're not giving up. Look I get it, its scary and this isn't how it's supposed to be. But life is messy and sometimes things fall apart, but it's up to us to pick up the pieces and keep going." Darius tells them, remembering his father giving him that speech once.
"What are we supposed to do?" Yasmina asks while Darius joins the five, with 10k rolling up some wire and stuffing it in his backpack.
"Get south to the park. Get help, but we can only do it together." Darius says.
"Let's move. I don't want to stick around and find out how fast that thing is." 10k tells them, slinging his backpack over his shoulders while walking past the group, pushing Booklynn's shoulder slightly, nudging her to go with everyone.
"Darius, we've been out here a while now, are you sure we're still heading towards the park?" Sammy asks their leader after they tracked through the jungle for a while.
"We could check, if I had my phone. It has a compass app and gps." Brooklynn says accusingly.
"Would you stop it with the phone? No one took your stupid phone." Yasmina tells her angrily.
"Well what are we going to do? None of us know where we are." Brooklynn asks when the group comes to a halt.
"We're heading the right way..." 10k says, his eyes focusing on something in the distance.
"What is with that tone? I don't like that tone." Kenji says worried.
"Remember your pal Torro?" 10k replies.
"Yeah..." Kenji replies dreadfully.
"Well, uhm he's out." 10k says looking at a large hole in the dino's cage, making everyone gasp fearfully, before Darius gets them back on track.
"Well this enclosure is north of the park, so if we continue that way we'll get to the visitor's center." He tells the group, pointing in a direction.
"Yes. That's exactly what I was thinking and I think we all can agree I'm the leader, so let's go." Kenji tells them walking into the direction Darius pointed to.
After 20 more minutes of walking through the forest the group come across a dead saur.
"The indominous was here. This dino was killed without anyone feeding on it, that isn't right." Darius says.
The group then hears rustling from the nearby bushes and take cover behind a large tree.
"Bumpy!" Ben shouts happily, running over to the dog sized dino, when it crawls through the foliage.
"As fun as this reunion is, shouldn't we keep heading south?" Kenji asks, motioning to Ben, who's hugging the dinosaur.
"I'm not going to spend another hour walking through the jungle, just hoping the Indominus won't find us. We need a new plan." Brooklynn complains.
"Obviously, that's why I had Darius figure out a new one." Kenji says, going over to the dinosaur expert, while 10k rolls his eyes.
"OK, uhm we should find somewhere safe close by. What is near here? Camp`s that way and the park that way." Darius says, motioning in the directions.
"Wu's lab is near here." 10k chimes in.
"Great! That's where we should go. There has to be someone there who's able to help us right?" Darius tells the group enthusiastically.
"Fine, let's just go to the lab as long as we are moving away from that." Brooklynn says scared, when the Indominus is heard roaring in the distance.
"Darius. I just want you to be prepared. There is a good likely-hood that no one is at the lab." 10k says quietly, walking up to the teen.
"Why do you think that?" Darius questions concerned.
"The scientists would be the first ones to clear out. They are usually free of visitors and truthfully are a group of scaredy-cats. Well not that one can blame them in the current predicament." 10k tells him.
"Do you think we should head south then?" Darius asks.
"No. Brooklynn is right. It's too far and gives the Indominus too many opportunities to strike, especially on the clear field we'd have to cross." 10k says shaking his head.
"So what do we do?" Darius asks freaking out while trying to hide it from the others.
"We'll go to the lab first. Maybe we get lucky. And even if not, we probably could stock up on some things there, or at least get a breather in, because some of us are reaching their limits." 10k tells him, looking back at the group, only to see Ben gone.
"Guys, where is Ben?" 10k asks.
"I could've sworn he was behind us a second ago." Yaz says, looking around.
"Hey, how's it hanging dudes?" Ben asks innocently, when he sees the group waiting for him expectantly while he's dragging Bumpy along behind him.
"Ben, why are you bringing Bumpy? He'll just slow us down and expose us." Darius says.
"We don't have time for this. There are people eating dinosaurs out here and Bumpy can't keep up." Yasmina tells Ben.
"Ben, we have to leave her behind. She can follow us on her own if she can, but we can't afford to let you lag behind to pull her along." 10k says, grabbing onto Ben's arm to drag him away if he has to.
"No. Don't leave her. We can't just abandon her like we have been!" Ben complains.
"Ben…" Darius says sympathetically.
"Looks like it's Bumpy's lucky day. There is a van over there, if it runs she can get in the back." 10k says, catching sight of the black van sitting alone in the jungle while he releases his hold on Ben, who storms back over to the small dinosaur.
"Why is it empty? Where is everyone?" Darius asks, when the group opens the van's doors.
"You don't want to know." 10k tells them, coming over to them from a nearby bush, using a leaf to wipe some blood of a knife.
"Where'd you get that?" Sammy asks frightened.
"You don't want to know." 10k repeats, shaking his head.
"Alright, everyone let's move. Kenji can you drive?" 10k asks the rich teen.
"Yeah, I can probably handle it." He says, sitting down in the driver seat while 10k sits down next to him.
"Hey, there is a tablet." Brooklynn says, taking the device and turns it on.
"Dave, Roxy can you hear us?" Sammy asks, shouting into a working radio once she turned it to channel 6, but gets no reply.
"Of course this thing doesn't have communications enabled, why would it? If I only had my phone…" Brooklynn complains.
"Enough already, there are bigger things happening here than your phone!" Darius shouts, while he joins Sammy and Brooklynn in the back of the van.
"Everyone be quiet! Now!" 10k orders, holding Kenji's mouth shut, since the teen was about to talk again. He leans out of the car window and sees a ripple in a puddle next to the car. A second later there is another ripple and Bumpy starts to wail, still standing in front of the Van.
"Every one in now! We're out of time!" 10k shouts and Yasmina, helps Ben load the small dino into the Van while Kenji starts up the engine.
"I don't know what the problem is. I don't see anything around here." Kenji says, starting to drive away with minimal speed.
"Floor it rich boy!" 10k shouts and moments later the Indominus appears through the thick foliage of the jungle, headed right at them.
Kenji then starts to drive like a madman, but doesn't know how to change gears, making them only slightly faster than the killing machine approaching from behind.
"Shift gears dude." 10k says, looking into the side mirror.
"I don't know how." Kenji tells him panicking.
"I'll do it." Yasmina chimes in, taking off her seatbelt and leans over the front seats, Kenji however drives off a drop and Jasmina flies over the seat and would have crashed into the driver's console, had 10k not reacted in time and pulled her towards himself and held her close, so she doesn't go flying with Kenji now driving down a bumpy hill.
The ride downhill ends with Kenji sliding them to a stop moments before they'd crash into a humongous tree.
"At least we lost the Indominus." Brookylnn says peering out of the back window, where the gigantic beast could be seen from only seconds earlier.
"For now." 10k agrees.
"Where do we go now?" Yasmina asks, sitting up in between Kenji and 10k, giving the latter a thankful pat on his shoulder.
"We're at the genetic's lab…" Ben says, pointing at the facility in front of them.
"Let's go." Darius says and everyone leaves the van, taking the two devices they found with them.
"Brookylnn, hand me that please." 10k asks the pinkette, while the group walks towards the genetic's lab.
She hands him the device and he pulls up a map with some red dots located on it.
"What are those dots? Dinos?" Sammy asks.
"Yeah, brachiosaurs according to the trackers, but they shouldn't be there, which means that the gates are malfunctioning." 10k groans disappointed.
"Of course they do, because why shouldn't they?" Brooklynn curses.
"What are you looking for?" Yasmina asks, seeing 10k focus on a specific area, zooming in but its completely empty.
"This is where we are. And the Indominus should be withing this radius. It has to be, which means… We can't track it with this. And our only real warning system is Bumpy freaking out and that's when the thing is already in spitting range." 10k sighs disappointed.
"Here, let's head into the lab now. Maybe we'll get lucky." 10k tells them, handing Brooklynn the tablet back.
When the group enters the main area of the lab they are greated to the sight of one of the lab workers shining a light at them, having been hiding behind a table.
"Not dinosaurs. You're not dinosaurs." He says relieved and turns away the lamp.
"I'll go look around for supplies." 10k tells Darius and Yasmina, who was standing next to the group's leader, "I'll help you." Yasmina says, following 10k out of the room.
"Any specific area to check in mind?" Yasmina asks.
"Well, there is only one. The storage area, the other rooms are all labs and we'd be lucky to find a pencil there. Just computers and screens." 10k tells her.
"Couldn't we get help with them?" Yasmina suggests.
"That would be a good idea, if communications weren't down. And if this place wasn't on lockdown, leaving only the bare necessities intact." 10k informs her, while heading down a corridor, before stopping in front of a door.
"We're here." He says, fishing out a flashlight from his backpack and hands it to sporty girl.
He then opens the door, stepping inside with Yasmina shining the flashlight around the room, showing mostly empty shelves.
"Why is everything gone?" She asks.
"I guess they took everything with them when everyone but the dude in the lab evacuated." 10k tells her, looking around the shelves and finds one opened medical kit lying under a shelf.
"A med kit!" Yasmina says excited.
"It's opened." 10k informs her, opening it and showing her the few supplies left in it.
"Well it's better than nothing." He says, stuffing everything in his backpack and leads her back out of the room.
"That was scarce." Yasmina says, handing him the light back, which he puts away as well.
"That's an understatement." 10k chuckles, starting to walk back towards the lab.
"Hey, wait a moment." Yasmina stops him however, still standing in front of the room.
"Did you find something?" He asks, turning back towards the girl.
"No. I just wanted to thank you for earlier. In the car, I could've gotten seriously hurt." She thanks him shyly.
"Don't mention it. I'm sure you'd have done the same." He says, starting their track back to the lab, albeit at a slower pace.
"Maybe, but still. And I'm sorry for yelling at you on the tower. You were only doing whatever you can to get everyone save." She says, walking beside him.
"That's OK. I'd probably shocked too if someone where to grab onto me suddenly." 10k laughs lightly.
"Can I ask something though?" Yasmina asks, stopping before they can join the others.
"shoot." He says with a nod.
"Why did you ask Darius to be our leader? And yes, I caught on to that." She asks.
"Everyone trust him. While, well the only ones who trust me are you, Darius and possibly Brooklynn." 10k replies.
"Do you really think that?" She asks, not believing the claim.
"Think back, what happened when I came back with a knife." He tells her, patting her shoulder once before stepping into the room, with Yasmina following, replaying everyone's reactions in her head and realizes that everyone but her and Darius were scared.
"So what's the plan, what do we do?" Darius asks the adult, who's almost cowering in the room.
"You're asking me? Do you all not get it, we're doomed." He tells them with a maniacal laughter.
"There wasn't much left." 10k says, walking past the guy and purposefully bumping into him, since he's freaking everyone out.
"Hey, watch…" The guy is about to complain, until he sees 10k's sharp look, aimed at him, while he steps over to the rest of the teens.
"Anyways. No one is coming to help." The guy says.
"What about Dr. Wu?" Kenji questions.
"Wu? He's the cause of this. He got gready and instead of Dinosaurs, he started to build monsters." The scientist tells them.
"Jurassic Park isn't a Park. It's a powder keg that's detonating right beneath our feet!" The guy says finishing his rant.
"Come on, you have to know what to do, we drove all the way here …" Darius says and the guy cuts him off, asking "Whoa, you have a vehicle?" before storming out of the lab with the group of teen chasing after him once Kenji says "Guys, I left the keys in the ignition."
"Hey, what are you doing?" Darius shouts while they follow him.
"I'm getting out of here alive!" He shouts back.
Yasmina starts to speed up, running past everyone but 10k when he suddenly grabs onto her arm, holding her back, while motioning for the others to stop.
"What are you doing? Let go!" Yasmina shouts, trying to free herself.
"Trust me." 10k says, looking her in the eyes and she stops struggling.
"Everyone back up. Quietly." 10k tells them.
"What do you think you're doing dumbass, he's getting away with the only car!" Kenji shouts.
"Do it! Everyone back." Darius tells them and the group heads back towards the lab while Kenji, Brooklynn and Ben all complain in a whisper, until they see the Indominus ram the Van and chase the guy from the lab, who gets out and tries to sprint away.
"Come on are you kidding?" Darius curses when the group is backed up against a fence.
"Perfect, the only intact fence!" Kenji yells, they then hear the Indominus cry out again and they hide themselves behind some containers, catching their breath.
"Stay low and stay quiet." 10k whispers, peering around the container, seeing the Indominus about to walk into the opposite direction, but Bumpy squeals, catching its attention and it starts to head back towards them.
10k goes to the other end of the container and peers around its edge, before motioning for them to follow him while he takes cover behind the next container. Once the group followed him he points over at the Van, whispering "Break for the Van in, 20 seconds." He tells them once he looked around the area quickly.
"What are you doing?" Darius whispers worriedly.
"Distracting it, here just in case." 10k tells them, handing Yasmina his backpack and Kenji the knife he collected earlier, before he takes out his own knife from the sheath on his lower back.
"20 seconds." He says, before darting around the corner of the container and speeds towards the other side of the storage area.
Darius looks at Ben's watch while they hear some metal clangs from the other side of the storage area, caused by 10k hitting his knife against some crates, while he rushes past them.
"Go." Darius whispers and everyone makes a break for the Van, only for Brooklynn, who was the last person of the trail to trip and drop the tablet, which then activates while giving off a beeping noise, catching the Indominus's attention and it start to head back, in the direction of the beeping noise.
"Crap. Guys, get in the Van!" 10k yells, running literally behind the Indominus while taking out his slingshot from a pocket on his flak Vest, loading it up with a metal pellet from another pocket and holds onto the weapon with one hand, while speeding up and runs around the enormous saur's legs before stepping in between them. He motions for Brooklynn, to head towards him when the girl is back on her feet, but she shakes her head no, since she'd quite literally be running towards the Indominus.
10k speeds up some more, now being level with its maw, while the two are only a few feet away from Brooklynn, who has taken a hiding spot behind a container again.
10k shoots the metal bullet at another container to their right, distracting the giant beast, which head turns towards the sound.
While its head is turned 10k grabs onto Brooklynn, holding her captive in his arms while putting one hand over his mouth.
To their luck Darius didn't follow 10k's instructions and throws a rock at another metal container, causing a loud clank, in which direction the large creature takes off, turning around and going towards it, with 10k quickly, pushing Brooklynn to the floor with him lying down on top of her, still having his hand over her mouth, while the scared girl watches the saur's tail swing by over their heads.
Once they're clear 10k helps her up quickly and runs towards the Van while holding her hand.
"Go,go, go!" 10k says, when both he and Brooklynn join Sammy, Darius, Ben and Bumpy in the back of the Van and Yasmina starts the car, driving away from the Indominus as fast as possible.
"Good, we're save for now." 10k says, watching the Indominus run after them before stopping and only snarling in their direction.
"Man, that was some seriously badass stuff out there." Darius compliments 10k.
"Yeah, thanks." Brooklynn says embarrassed and impressed.
"Well it worked out somehow." 10k sighs, leaning back against the Van's seat.
"Kids? Come on, pick up! There is something going on, stay at Camp. We're coming to you." The group then hears Roxy's voice coming from their radio.
"No. We're heading to you." Darius says, answering the radio.
"Darius, wait why…" Roxy says.
"It's a long story, but we had to leave Camp." Darius tells them.
"Short story, a dinosaur ate Camp." Yasmina says.
"And we found a Van and Bumpy." Ben says.
"We're driving through the jungle and are headed for the main park. Eta is 40 minutes." 10k says, taking the radio from Darius.
"We're getting out of here!" Brooklynn cheers, same as everyone but 10k, who only smiles at the scene.
"We did it camp family!" Sammy says happily when they drive over some rocks in the road, rattling the Van and causing Brooklynn's broken phone to slip out of her pocket, landing in the middle of the Vans back.
"my phone. I knew it!" Brooklynn says angrily, while everyone stares at Sammy, except for 10k.
"Sammy." Yasmina says shocked, losing her focus on the road and they start to swerve towards a tree.
"Yaz, watch out!" 10k shouts, but it's already too late and the Van crashes against the tree.
