"Is everyone OK?" Darius asks, when the group is recovering from the sudden impact.
"Is everyone…" Yasmina says laughing bitterly while storming out of the car, with Sammy hot on her tail, yelling "Yaz. Yaz wait."
"Uhm, everyone just take a breather and clear out of the Van. This thing won't go anywhere anymore." 10k says, seeing the black smoke coming from the vehicle's engine while climbing out of the Van ahead of everyone and looking around to get an idea of their current location while his eyes constantly drift to the hurt and angry Yasmina.
"We're not OK. We're in the middle of a jungle with a dinosaur monster out ther and you! You…" Yasmina rants, glaring at Sammy, who her.
"You destroyed the only way to get help and lied about it. I told you guys!" Brooklynn complains pissed off.
"So you did take Brooklynn's phone? Why?" Darius asks confused.
"Probably trying to get rid of the video where she's taking samples form a Sinoceratops. And you knew about the Indominus Rex because you were snooping around in Dr. Wu's office when I bumped into you." Brooklynn says accusingly.
"I didn't mean to destroy the phone, I fell on it when the Zipline came down." Sammy tells them."
"But you did steal it and didn't tell us the whole time?" Ben says, feeling betrayed like everyone else does.
"What were you doing in Dr. Wu's office Brooklynn?" Darius asks.
"It doesn't matter. I didn't break our only way to get help and lie about it." Brooklynn says.
"It wouldn't have mattered. Every communication way is down. Even the radios only function sporadically." 10k tells them, tuning in on the white noise on every channel.
"I'm here to spy! For a company called Mantah Corp." Sammy confesses, finally breaking down.
"Our Ranch was in trouble and had to borrow money from some shady people. They were fronting for Mantah Corp and they said we'd loose everything if I didn't spy for them. But then Brooklynn caught on and I got scared and then everything went wrong." Sammy explains sorrowfully.
"This is the last thing I wanted to happen." Sammy says, turning to Yasmina specifically.
"Oh, to be next to a broken Van on Killer Dinosaur Island? Hey me too, what are the odds?" Yasmina replies bitterly.
"Yaz, I…" Sammy stammers.
"Was it all a lie? Wanting to be friends? You just needed someone to hide what you were doing. Tell me I'm wrong." Yasmina says upset.
"I'm such an idiot." She grunts and starts to walk away from Sammy and the rest of the group.
"You are wrong. I just didn't know how to say it or explain it to you. Just because I spied that doesn't change who I am." Sammy says sorrowfully, walking after Yaz, until she feels a hand holding her back by her shoulder and sees 10k shake his head at her, nodding back to the rest of the group, signaling for her to leave it be for now.
"Yaz." 10k says, approaching the angry girl, who stopped once she heard Sammy run away, back towards the Van.
"What!?" She almost growls.
"You are right to be mad. But right now, we need to get our heads in the game. The rescue window is closing as we speak, so as much as you deserve to be able to let off some steam, we can't afford to get distracted now." 10k tells her.
"So what? Go leave with the others. I'll be fine on my own. Always have been." Yasmina tells him upset, turning away from him.
"You may feel that way, but I can't let that happen." 10k tells her, gently grabbing onto her shoulder.
"Just go away already and leave me alone." Yasmina sneers at him.
"The thing is, if you won't go, then I won't either and if I won't go it's probably only going to be Kenji and Brooklynn heading for safety on their own and who are we kidding with him leading they'll be neck deep in trouble after clearing this hill." 10k tells her chuckling.
"Can't you just leave me alone already?" Yasmina asks, sobbing.
"I can't. You mean too much to me for that." He says, stepping up beside her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and leading her back to the others while she wipes her tears out of her eyes.
While the two walk back towards the others Bumpy is going crazy, snorting and jumping around frantically.
"Guys, hide behind the Van!" 10k shouts before pulling Yasmina over to a bush near them, sitting down in it with her while motioning for her to stay quiet.
Seconds later the Indominus appears out of the jungle behind everyone and runs past them with a helicopter flying after it, firing at it constantly.
"Whoa." 10k yelps, quickly rolling to the side with Yasmina when the line of fire is heading right towards the bush they are in while the Indominus is already a few yards down the clearing they are on.
"Who the heck did they give the gun?" 10k growls, staring at the Helicopter for a second, before looking down at Yasmina, who is pinned under him, looking up at him in shock.
"Uhm, sorry." He apologizes, when he realizes their compromising position and quickly gets up, offering her a hand, which she accepts gladly.
"That's Masrani's helicopter! Go Masrani, kick its butt!" Kenji cheers, stepping out from behind the Van with the rest of the group, meeting up with 10k and Yaz, who hurry over to them, all of them watching the Helicopter fire at the dinosaur hopefully.
A loud crash is then heard and some flying dinosaurs escape from their confinement, flying directly towards the helicopter.
"This isn't good." 10k says and just as he said it the helicopter crashes against the large dome containing the flying saurs of the park, exploding on impact and releasing hundreds of dinos, some of which are flying right towards them.
"We need to get to cover." Darius tells the group.
"The Kayak river, the entrance is nearby and its underground." Kenji suggests, seeing the map on Brooklynn's tablet.
"If we follow the river it'll take us right to the main park." Kenji adds.
"Then that's where we're going. Come on everyone." Darius says and the group runs after Kenji with Darius and Ben picking up Bumpy and carrying her along.
One of the flying Saurs dives down when its above them and grabs onto Brooklynn, lifting her slightly into the air, before it releases its hold on her, when 10k jumped up, grabbing onto one of its legs and stabs the leg wit his knife, causing the saur to release Brookylnn, who drops to her feet and starts to run with the group again.
10k lets go off the leg shortly afterwards and lands on the ground, rolling over his shoulder to soften the impact before running after the group, covering Ben and Darius's back this time.
"Hurry up!" Yasmina yells, when they reach the entrance of the river but Darius and Ben tripped shortly before reaching it.
"Get up and get moving!" 10k shouts at them, picking up Bumpy himself and running after the teens with the Dinosaur in his arms, while a flying saur lands right behind him, and flies after him towards the cave entry, until it gets stopped by the metal door closing in its face curtesy of Yasmina once 10k, Darius and Ben all rushed in.
"Too close." 10k sighs, letting down the small dinosaur, which immediately heads to Ben's side.
Everyone then picks up a life-vest before pairing up for the two person kayaks.
"Brooklynn and I call the CKK." Kenji says cockily.
"CKK?" She asks confused.
"Cool Kids Kayak." He tells her.
"Ben and Bumpy can go in this one with me." Darius suggests.
"No, you go with Sammy. With two dead weights on board they need the muscle, no offense Ben." 10k tells him.
"OK, hey wait, offense taken!" the teen says upset, only getting a shrug in response.
"Yasmina?" Sammy asks hopefully, but the ponytailed girl is already in a Kayak, taking off after giving 10k a thankful nod, grateful to be able to put some distance between herself and Sammy.
"Come on Ben!" 10k shouts, standing in a Kayak, loading Bumpy into it.
"Come on Sammy, let's get out of here." Darius says, looking at 10k impressed at his quick decisions which is going to help them release some tension in the group by separating Sammy from Yasmina, as well as his thinking ahead by pairing up with Ben and Bumpy himself.
"Hey, the cave is getting bigger. And brighter?" Brooklynn says, with her and Kenji being in the leading boat. Yasmina paddling just behind them and 10k and his kayak staying close to Sammy and Darius's incase things to wrong.
As the teens drift through the river they watch the colorful surroundings in stunned silence.
"I could have used my phone as a flashlight right now if Sammy hadn't broken it." Brooklynn complains to Kenji.
"Hey, will you stop harshing the mellow of the CKK?" Kenji tells her.
"Why are you acting like this doesn't affect you too? We're here because of her." Brooklynn asks the Asian teen.
"Or something else would have happened and we'd still be here. And you heard mr. bigshot, the phone wouldn't have worked anyways." Kenji tells her and she chuckles quietly.
"What?" Kenji asks surprised.
"Just, you calling 10k mr. bigshot while you're wearing those ridiculous glasses in this dark cave." She tells him amused.
"Hmpf. Look, I know you're mad at Sammy, we all are to some degree, but getting mad doesn't help us get out of here. It only makes more people mad. Put yourself in her shoes, is there really anything you could do to make her feel worse than she already does?" Kenji asks Brooklynn.
"Just ask." Sammy tells Darius, who is staring at Sammy silently.
"It's just, you talk about family so much yet you're here breaking the law for them." Darius says.
"Don't Darius, you don't know anything about my family. They didn't sent me here, I contacted Mantah Corp, they were in the dark until I was on the ferry." Sammy tells him.
"Focus up guys. It doesn't matter. And it doesn't concern anyone other than Sammy. The thing isn't that she was spying, it's the lying to us during the crisis that's posing the problem." 10k says.
"How do you do that?" Darius asks.
"What?" 10k asks in return.
"Stay focused, only care about what matters at one point in time?" Darius asks impressed.
"Can you really change anything else than what you're doing right now? I mean I can't go back or see in the future, so why try controlling it so much? Things will happen, like a crazy scientist can steal our Van only to get Karma shoved up his ass." 10k tells him, making the teen chuckle, while Ben complains, "Hey, don't use such language in front of Bumpy!"
"Focus up and paddle, or I'll shove you something up you know what." 10k tells him half jokingly, causing Ben to focus on paddling instead of cuddling Bumpy.
"Guys? Should the algae be moving?" Sammy asks the group, when they come across some dinosaurs, which have luminescent spots on their skin.
"Don't worry, that are Parasaurolophuses, they are herbivores. They must have used bio-luminescent dna on them." Darius tells the group while the dinosaurs wade into the river and stand around their Kayaks, knocking into them before they all freeze up and disperse, frightened by something.
"Something scared them." Darius says.
"Uhm guys, it looks like we're caught in some kind of current. Kenji is there supposed to be a current down here?" 10k asks the teen leading the charge.
"No." He says frightful.
"Oh no, we're drifting towards a different tunnel. Paddle! Darius shouts, seeing a broken opening, through which the water escapes and which they are drifting off to.
"Don't! Let the stream take us with it, or we'll be separated. Kenji and Brooklynn can't get out of the current anymore." 10k yells and everyone slides down the tunnel, ending up on a large lake encircled by a massive stadium.
"Oh- oh." 10k says, once they slide to a stop on the lake.
"What Oh- oh? I don't like Oh- oh." Ben says, staring at his kayak partner with worry.
"Everyone start paddling, fast but not frantically." 10k orders.
"Where too?" Yasmina asks.
"Over there, the spectator stand has a ladder!" 10k yells, pointing to the group's left.
"While we're paddling here, anyone care to explain what we're paddling away from?" Brooklynn asks.
"We're in the Jurassic World Lagoon, and so is the Mosasaurus." Kenji tells them frightened, he and Brooklynn already having cleared half the way, while a large shadow is swimming around below everyone, with the occasional spikes on the back of the saur showing themselves through the water's surface.
"Let me guess, that's a big scary sea dinosaur?" Ben asks.
"Yep, which is why we're paddling." 10k says, looking over to Yasmina, who has no problem keeping up with himself and Ben, while Kenji and Brooklynn are already starting to climb to safety.
Looking back at Sammy and Darius he sees the large distance between them and scoffs.
"Hey, Yaz. Trade kayak's with me." 10k tells her, still looking back at the two lagging behind, before glancing at the metal construct in the middle of the lake, which is used to deliver food by the pulled connecting it with the stands.
"No, get Bumpy and Ben to safety. I can handle it." She says.
"Yaz!" 10k curses worried.
"Just go." She tells him, shoving away 10k's approaching Kayak, before paddling over to the metal construct and climbing onto it, readying her paddle to hit the metal bars going underwater.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" 10k curses, paddling faster and closing in on the stands in record time.
"Kenji, help Ben get Bumpy out!" 10k yells, once he's on the stands, standing next to the food delivery pulley and sends the empty hook towards Yasmina.
Upon seeing how slow it is, he throws down his backpack, fishing out his metal guards and starts strapping them to the back of calves, telling Brookylnn.
"You have to take control here."
"What am I doing?" She asks.
"Try to get Yaz out of there, You'll know when the time right." 10k says, before climbing to the steel wire and wrapping his legs around it, hanging upside down as he makes his way across the wire towards Yasmina.
Who now is hitting the metal bars she's standing on to distract the Mosasaurus, which was about to devour Sammy and Darius's kayak.
"Oh no." Yaz says, when she sees the Mosasaurus head right towards her.
"Get on the hook!" 10k tells her and Yasmina jumps onto the wire hanging down from the slow-moving pulley, which is starting to carry her over to the stands with Brooklynn steering it.
"What do you think you're doing?" Yasmina yells at 10k, who is sliding backwards, standing just out of the pulley's way, but within Yasmina's reach.
"giving you some insurance." He says and moments later the Mosasaurus shoots out of the water, biting through the wire, causing Yasmina to slide off from the hook and lose their tablet due to the momentum of the falling wire, but 10k manages to grab onto one of her hands with one of his while grabbing onto the wire with his feet and his other hand as they fly towards the stands. He lets go of her hand when the momentum will carry her to the stands and she drops to the stands, when she lands however her foot gives away and she hurts her ankle.
"Uhmpf." 10k grunts, when he impacts with the wall the wire is attached to and slowly climbs down it, before hurrying over to check on Yasmina, as is everyone else, with Darius and Sammy also having reached safety in the meantime.
"I'm OK, I think." She tells them, grabbing her foot and flinching in pain.
"Sorry about the rough landing." 10k tells her, rubbing his shoulder, which took most of the impact with the wall.
"Uhm guys, where'd everyone go?" Ben asks, motioning to the empty stands all around them.
In the meantime Dave and Roxy have tracked the teens over the tablet and see the trail end in the Mosasaur's pond, hoping they made it through the two counselors drive towards Aquatic Area No.1
Upon Ben's realization everyone disperses across the stands, with 10k going over to collect his bag before walking back towards Yaz.
"Thank you for saving us, for saving me. That was amazing." Sammy tells Yasmina thankful.
"Stop. We may need each other to stay alive, but don't for a second think that makes us friends again. Because we're not and will never be again." Yasmina tells her, before accepting 10k's help to limp over to an empty part in the stands.
When Yasmina left, Brooklynn makes up with Sammy and tries to cheer her up, having taken Kenji's words to heart.
"So, how're you holding up?" 10k asks Yasmina, helping her sit down on one of the seats in the stand.
"I'll live." She says.
"I wasn't only talking about your foot, which I really am sorry about." He says, feeling responsible for the injury while he's carefully removing her shoelaces.
"Stop apologizing. That wasn't your fault and without you I'd have been fish food." Yasmina says.
"Hmm." 10k hums in agreement, taking off her shoe while Yaz hisses in pain.
"So again, how're you doing?" 10k asks, while he's taking off her socks.
"Hurt, angry. Disappointed." She replies.
"All understandable." He says, poking her foot in a few places, getting some hisses in pain from her while at other spots it doesn't hurt.
"What do you think?" He asks.
"I think we'd be better of without that betraying backstabber." Yaz tells him, glaring at Sammy.
"Uhm, this time I was talking about your foot." He chuckles lightly.
"Why're you asking me? You're the one down there ogling it." She tells him, her spirits lifting ever so lightly.
"Well you're the professional athlete and probably the second smartest one around. Plus it's your foot, so you have probably more insight if it's broken or just bruised." He says, looking at her expectantly.
"Second smartest huh? After you?" She asks amused.
"No, Darius." He replies, his eyes not lingering from hers.
"I think you're selling yourself short there." She tells him.
"And I think you should stop avoiding my question." He says expectantly.
"Well, it could be broken, it's too early to tell right now with everything swollen like this." Yaz says.
"Hmpf. Not what I was hoping to hear." He says with a sigh.
"Oh and I'm so happy about it?" She asks with a smirk.
"Who knows? Maybe you secretly wanted me to take care of you and your hurt foot." He says with a chuckle, while taking out the bandage he collected from the med kit in Wu's lab.
"You think so?" She asks blushing.
"Hey, I can have hopes too." He tells her with a wink.
"So you're hoping I'd get hurt so you can take care of me?" Yasmina asks teasingly.
"Are you sure it's wise to taunt me when I'm face to foot with the source of your pain?" 10k asks, starting to wrap the bandage around the foot and ankle.
"I trust you." She then says with all honesty, making him look up at her, surprised to hear her say that, before focusing back on wrapping up her foot.
"You looked surprised." She laughs lightly.
"Well, I really couldn't tell with you." He says, shrugging his shoulders.
"Why's that?" She asks.
"Oh geeze, maybe cause everytime I risked my neck for you, you complained about me touching you?" He chuckles while putting her sock back on, having finished the bandage.
"And I apologized for that." She defends herself.
"Yeah, I know. I'm just clueless sometimes." He tells her, starting to slip her shoe back on.
"Clueless huh? Let me help you out then." Yaz says, blushing madly, while lowering her foot and grabbing the scruff of his vest, pulling him up until he's face to face with her and inches her lips closer to his until they meet in an innocent kiss.
"That helped." He chuckles, running one hand down her face gently, before kneeling back down and finish tying up her shoe.
He then hears Kenji arguing with Ben and gets up, saying "Sorry, I gotta go break them up."
Once he's gone Brooklynn sits down next to Yaz.
"What?" Yaz asks, not liking the quietness of the usually quick to chat Brooklynn.
"So, you and 10k huh?" She asks innocently.
"I don't know, I just kissed him once alright?" Yaz replies, trying to put up an uncaring front.
"Fine then, you won't mind if I ask him out I guess." Brooklynn says, shrugging her shoulders before she goes over to 10k, who just finished breaking up Ben and Kenji's argument.
"Hey 10k." Brookylnn says, getting his attention.
"Yeah?" He asks, turning to the girl, who then crashes her lips against his, staying there for a few seconds.
"Huh?" He asks, looking at her surprised.
"Yaz isn't the only one crushing on you, I just thought I'd let you know." She tells him before walking off with a wink.
10k looks over to Yaz, who's staring back at him with a frown.
"What was that about?" He asks the athlete, once he joins her on the stands.
"It looks like I have a love-rival." Yaz says, looking at Brooklynn with a grin, while the pinkette grins back at her.
"You know, I don't think I'm ever gonna understand girls." 10k says, walking over to Darius and Kenji to plan the group's next move, after brushing through Yaz's hair lovingly while he gets up.
