Hogwarts dungeons. Day. Snape rolls his body on the right, to the left then back to the right. Get enough sleep since last night. It's all because of Hermione Granger.
That witch!
She is the one who did this. Why is she even coming here? Why Hogwarts? Why?
He laid flats on his back. His face now facing the sorrow ceiling. What should he do next?
Today the teacher began their teaching. Of course they are busy. So he is. Potions. He teaches potions.
"Obviously".
He sighed out loud. Jumping off the bed. He takes a hot shower. Wearing his usual black robes flowing behind him. He walks to the small table, having his breakfast in the dungeons.
A cozy tea he brought from France. Before began his class, daily prophet.
As for Hermione Granger. She's the one who wakes up earlier than other Gryffindor.
School robes, books _ everything. She ran out to the great hall for breakfast.
"Good morning". She said, "Aren't we early?"
Percy Weasley, Gryffindor head boy, spoke. "I'm the head boy. Of course I wake early. So, them too". He points to Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw tables.
The head boy and the head girl are eating their breakfast. "Owh. You're Ron's big brother".
"Including Fred and George, yes. I have two big brothers above me. Charlie and Bill. Little sister, Ginny". Hermione nods. He spoke again. "What about you, Granger".
"I'am. I'm the only child in my family. My parents are dentists. Muggle born".
"We don't say that here, Granger. Muggle born, half blood, pure blood. Everyone is the same here. So, don't be humble around those who call themselves pure blood".
Hermione nodded again. "I'll take that note".
"Especially Malfoy!"
"Malfoy? Draco Malfoy, that blond cheeky, spoilt boy".
Percy smiles. "You met him last night. Sorting hat. He's in Slytherin, same as his dad and mum. Malfoy's family think his family is the greatest pure blood that no one couldn't compared".
"That's disgusting. He tried to be friendly with Harry. You know Harry, he knew who better than the Malfoy's".
Percy nods agree. "So, you are here for breakfast. You know the way. I leave you here. Enjoy your breakfast, Granger". He rose up.
"You too, Percy. Thanks for the advise". Hermione takes a seat. Enjoying her breakfast.
Snape laid the daily prophet on the table. Taking the last sip of his tea. He reached his wand out from his robes. Vanish the tea cup. Then he kept his wand back in his robes.
Push the chair. He walked out from his chambers to potions class. As for Hermione, her feet walk to Transfiguration class.
Later that. In Transfiguration class. Hermione had heard heavy footsteps running down the halls.
Two empty tables supposedly occupied by Harry and Ron. She bet the people running in the hall are boys.
Hermione looks over her shoulder as the boys rush in. A tabby cat is sitting on a desk. They painted after running, trying to steady themself.
"Made it! Can you imagine the look on McGonagall's face if we were late?"
Ron mocking the teacher, whom the two boys don't know the Mcgonagall were standing on top of the teaching desk not in human form but a Tabby cat form.
Tabby Cat is any cat that has a distinctive coat that features stripes, dots, lines or swirling patterns, usually together with a mark resembling an "M" on its forehead.
Tabbies are sometimes erroneously assumed to be a cat breed. The cat jumps off the desk and turns into Professor McGonagall herself. The two boys are amazed.
"That was bloody brilliant!"
"Thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley. It'd be better if I transfigured Mr. Potter and you into a watch. Then one of you might be on time".
"We got lost".
"Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats." Minerva turns her feet. Harry and Ron take their seat without questioning.
Later then. "That's rude!" said Hermione to Ron at the hall. "Old McGonagall's face. She is the teacher".
"We got lost, aren't we, Harry?". Hermione crossed her arm on chest. "Why do you care, Hermione".
"I don't. As long as you don't touch me or try to fool you".
"What does that mean?"
Hermione didn't answer. She walked past the boys to the first floor. She went to library.
"Mental she is!" Harry looks at Ron. "We've got lost, am I right?" Harry sighed. "She's weird. Wonder why". The boys resumed their walk at the hall.
Snape walks in corridor dungeons to his office. He swung the door and saw Dumbledore admiring his collecting jars on shelves.
Snape clears his throat, Dumbledore turns to him. "Severus?"
"Is there anything I can help, Headmaster? Is that why you are here in my office? ``
Dumbledore nods. "Sits first, Severus". Severus drags his chair, Dumbledore sits in front of him. "The boy, Severus. Have you seen him?"
"Sorting into Gryffindor. I'm not surprise". He leaned back. "Is where he belongs".
Dumbledore nodded his head. "What about the girl?" Snape stares at Dumbledore's eyes. "The girl, Severus".
"What girl, Headmaster?"
"Miss Granger". Snape pushed his chair, he walked towards the books shelf. "Don't turn to me, Severus. I can read you. I see your eyes, the same way you see in Lily's".
"She's long gone, Headmaster. We don't need to speak about it". Dumbledore rose up, he stood behind Snape. "She is nothing like Lily". said Snape.
Dumbledore smiles. His hand reached Snape's shoulder from behind. "My boy, Severus. Miss Granger may not be Lily's. One day you know".
He walked to the door, waving at Snape. "Ta ta". Snape watches him leave.
Born January 9,1960. The only child of muggle Tobias Snape and Gobstone witch Eileen Snape. Severus was raised in the muggle dwelling of Spinner's End.
He took a seat back on the chair, a memory he had with Lily's remains in his heart.
Lily ..
"Miss Granger, that is the restriction section. Inappropriate for younger students that is why it is restricted. Unless you have a note, permission from your teacher then I let the librarian retrieve the book for you".
Hermione sighed. "I don't think it was necessary to go there, Miss Granger".
"Fine. Thank you Madam Pince". Hermione smiled. "Do you have any romance novels around here?"
Next morning. Snape having his breakfast in his room. He knew what today was. Not because of the day or any special occasion.
Today. His first potion with Hermione, Harry and the rest of students will wait for him in potions class. Not just Hermione he thinks about. Harry too. Lily's son.
Lily is the woman of his life. Spinner's end which was in close proximity to the home of the Evans family, though in a poorer area. He met Harry's mum Lily and her sister Petunia. when he was nine and fell deeply in love with Lily, becoming a close friend of hers.
But then she met James Potter in Hogwarts. Severus became the immediate enemy of James Potter. Was a frequent victim of his bullying. Snape never forgot those painful moments he had in his life.
Sighed out loud. "Well. Shall I _ begin".
Potions class. Harry sits beside Hermione. Students chattering, sitting near steaming cauldrons. The door slams open and Snape comes rushing in.
As Professor Snape paces imperiously, Hermione and the others sit in dead silence, staring at his face except Harry.
"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few..."
Snape looks around, continuing his words.
"Who possess the predisposition I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses".
He stopped. Eyes wandering. "I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper to death. Then again, maybe some of you have come to Hogwarts in possession of abilities so formidable that you feel confident enough to not.. pay.. attention!"
Hermione turns to Harry. Snape eyes on him. She nudges him, and realizes Snape is looking at him.
"Mr. Potter. Our.. new.. celebrity. What would I get if I added the root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"
Harry looks at a loss, Hermione's hand shots into the air. Behind Snape's sarcastic faces, there is a smile he's hiding. A smile to his little witch.
"You don't know. Well, Let's try again. Where would you look if I asked you to find a bezoar?"
"I don't know, sir".
"And the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?"
Harry turns to Hermione. Her hand is still up in the air. "I don't know, sir".
"Pity. Clearly, fame isn't everything is it, Mr. Potter?"
"Clearly Hermione knows. It seems a pity not to ask her".
Neville, Seamus and a few other Gryffindor laugh. Harry makes a fool of him in front of his students just like his father James Potter.
Snape glaring at him. "Silence!" He turns to his little witch. "And put your hand down, you silly girl!"
Hermione wilts. She spoke. "Why do you raise your tone on me? I know the answer to the question you should ask me, Professor".
"I didn't ask you, Miss Granger".
"I sit beside Harry of course you'll see me".
No more arguing. His eyes on Harry. "And Gryffindors". Now his eyes are on his witch. "Note that five points will be taken from your house". He walked to his desk. "Turn this water into rum".
Hermione shakes her head. Totally struck by Snape's sarcastic behavior. I hate you.
"Honestly. I can answer his". Hermione turns to Harry. "Well, Snape picked both of us". Harry, Ron and Hermione walking in the hall. They just got out of Snape potions class. "It's unfair!"
"Don't be so mental, Hermione. He's an old greasy git. Why should you fight him for". said Ron. "He is not just picking you and Harry. He may be picking me and the few Gryffindor he likes. He is the professor. Aren't professors doing their duty? ``
"Honestly Ron! For me, it is still not fair!"
"So you want to fight with Snape. Go on. Go on".
Hermione glared at Ron. "We'll see about that". She turns her feet and walks to the great hall. Harry followed her, and so did Ron.
"Severus".
He jumped. Suddenly Dumbledore shows up through Snape's fireplace. Snape just makes himself comfortable. And suddenly _ this.
"My boy, did you fight with Miss Granger today?" He asked. "That is so romantic". Chuckle. "I'd like to say a few words about Miss Granger".
Snape waited. "Don't ever mess up with her. I remind you, Severus. Never make a mistake again".
"Is that necessary to show up through my fireplace, Headmaster".
"I'm trying to surprise you, my boy. Oh, I also hear you take their point. Is that necessary, Severus".
Snape stood in silence. "Obviously".
"No wonder she's getting mad. About Mr. Potter, Severus. You know who _ Mr. Potter might be in danger. And I should be aware of that".
Snape stood in silence again. Dumbledore swung his door open. "Argus might think he needs something from your cabinet".
"He might be".
Dumbledore shut Snape's door. Snape then takes a seat. That witch!
