Wolfie: I do not own anything related to Iron Man or Marvel, just my oc and all alterations to the plot that I make. This is also a plot where Natasha wasn't the only one sent by S.H.I.E.L.D to watch Tony, but this agent gets more up close and personal than expected. So please do not steal it from me. This chapter will be post Iron Man 1 and pre Iron Man 2 and Pepper will not really be seen much in this book. Sorry to all you Pepper Potts fans but she just doesn't seem to fit all that well into the events I have planned. Now please read, review, and I hope you like this book so far.

Chapter 1: First Date

It had been 3 months after his battle with Obadiah Stane, 3 months since he was kidnapped and nearly died in Afghanistan. Three months since he built the arc reactor keeping him alive, the suit that made him Iron Man, and since he revealed he was Iron Man to the world. Tony was now in the aftermath of it all and was slowly but surly taking his company out of the weapons making business. The media was all a buzz about it and at the same time his fame as Iron Man grew tremendously. Everybody loved him and at every public appearance he made there was always someone with an Iron Man picture they wanted signed. Or there was always some kid in an Iron Man helmet that was always really big and made their head disproportionate to their bodies. Tony loved the fame, he loved the recognition, and he loved being looked up to like he was some kind of role model. However he felt like he needed something more, something different, something exciting, aka something or someone he can't buy with money.

Things with Pepper had purely been work related, she just wanted to be his assistant and nothing more and he respected that. However as he soon realized that the Palladium core in his arc reactor was slowly killing him he realized his life was grossly unfulfilled. He's realized he's had one night stands and a few orgy's that he can't really remember, but he's never had an actual working relationship. Hell he doesn't even have a bucket list, maybe because he didn't think he'd be close to death so soon. Or maybe because he was cocky and thought he was virtually unstoppable and that nothing could kill him. Tony wasn't really certain about the reasons, he just knew that he didn't want to die just yet, not when there was still so much left to do. Most people would call what he did next being him in denial, but honestly what good was him being a genius if he can't save himself? After all there has to be some suitable replacement for Palladium, and he'd find it if it was one of the last things he ever does.

Though he did have a reputation to uphold as well as a newfound quest to make his life more fulfilling. So he got back in the game, went to charity events, and dare he say it, saw the most charming woman at said event he was currently at. She had caught his eye immediately, standing out from the crowd in her gold halter top dress. A slit down the side of the ankle brushing skirt giving the billionaire playboy a teasing peak at her legs with each step she took. Now normally Tony wasn't a legs kind of man, but he found himself captivated by her sensational legs each time he got a peek at them. His mind drifting away from the charity event as he wondered if this woman's legs felt just as soft as they appeared to be. Unbeknownst to him this woman was Charlie Brooks, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D that had been sent to monitor him from afar. But she decided a different approach to watching him when she noticed Tony staring at her from across the room as she walked over to him, martini glass in hand.

"You do realize you've been staring at me for the past 20 minutes, right? Most women would've slapped you by now." Charlie said with an amused smirk as Tony snapped out of his daydream to look into her eyes, which he noted were a soft silvery blue color.

"I do now, and on another note. Has anybody ever told you that you have gorgeous legs?" Tony asked, waiting for a negative reaction as he noticed, much to his joy, that there was a slit down both sides of the skirt.

"You'd be the first, actually." Charlie said as she smiled smally, honestly not expecting having her mark say something like that to sound kinda sweet.

"I'm glad I fixed that." Tony said, having to hold back a groan of happiness because with the way she was standing he still got a peek at her legs through the slits in her skirt. "Name's Tony Stark by the way. I usually don't ogle and compliment without introductions first." He said as he offered a hand to Charlie, flashing her one of his charming smiles that would make any normal woman weak in the knees.

"Charlie Brooks." Charlie said as she shook his hand, her mind blanking on the fact that she's supposed to have this whole back story and fake name made by S.H.I.E.L.D. "Now I know why I felt like I recognized you, I've seen you on the news." She said as she at least remembered the fact that she's supposed to act like just a normal girl and not like a highly trained S.H.I.E.L.D agent. 'Fuck, I'm gonna be in so much trouble with Fury for this...' Charlie thought when she realized that her whole fake identity had been thrown out the window when she used her real one.

"Really? Fabulous to see that the news is good for something other than invading my privacy." Tony stated as he smiled more, normally he'd want to jump this woman's bone's by now but surprisingly he wanted to take the time to get to know her first.

"Indeed, they do love to spy on you and gossip about you till they're blue in the face." Charlie said as S.H.I.E.L.D had made her research Tony and watch everything that even remotely mentioned him as prep for this mission. "If I was in your shoes I'm sure I would've snapped by now." She said, she's never be able to handle that much unwanted attention without needing to drink to cope.

"When you grow up with a father like Howard Stark, you learn to ignore the press." Tony explained whilst shoving his hands into his pants pockets. "So uh, you like martini's?" He asked, suddenly trying to get his mind to stop drifting off to dirty fantasies about the 5'7" blonde female infront of him.

"I see... Mhm, of course dirty martini's are the only good kind there is." Charlie said as that honestly stirred something in Tony because the way she said dirty was just so, sensual sounding. "Look, this'll honestly sound crazy seeing as we've just met but, do you wanna get out of here and go somewhere more fun? This place is dullsville." She said as she set aside her half finished martini as she smiled up at the tall billionaire.

"My thoughts exactly." Tony said with a grin, God right now Charlie was honestly like a woman after his own heart and Pepper may get mad at him for leaving but he didn't care. "Shall we?" He asked whilst offering his arm to her, fully intending on escorting her out to his car.

"We shall." Charlie said, linking her left arm with Tony's offered right arm as they weaved their way through the crowd towards the exit.

All the party guests ever heard was the revving of an engine and squealing of tires as a silver Camaro sped away with Tony driving it and Charlie in the passenger seat. The two AWOL party guests basically having a joy ride for the most part, just enjoying one another's company. Though when they found their destination it was one where they could get away with what they were wearing but was more upbeat, a club. It had honestly been easy to get inside quickly too, the bouncer immediately letting them in when he saw that it was Tony Stark approaching the door. So they didn't have to wait in line or anything as they immediately got VIP service and a booth all their own. Charlie especially was enjoying the change of scenery, she never did like boring espionage that required her to watch from a distance. She loved to be hands on and in the thick of things, up close and personal with her marks so to speak. It just made the whole mission more exciting when she gets to be up close like she currently is with Tony.

The night from that moment on was just a montage of drinking and dancing with one another. Both smiling and laughing as Tony and Charlie seemed to genuinely have fun with one another at the club. And before they knew it it was past midnight when they finally exited the club and headed for the car. Charlie wrapped up in Tony's suit jacket to protect her from the cold night air since she did not bring a coat of her own. Not that he minded giving up his jacket though, after being trapped in a cold cave in Afghanistan he could handle a quick walk to his car without a jacket. Now it's safe to say they were both drunk, but Tony still had enough depth perception to be able to get them back to his home safely. Surprisingly he still didn't want to immediately jump her bones, maybe that's because part of him doesn't just want to be about sex. He hadn't decided yet as he got out and opened the door for Charlie as she stepped out of the car. Both of them now standing in Tony's huge indoor garage that filled with cars, both classic and new hotrods/muscle cars.

"How about you come up for another drink?" Tony said with a smile as he motioned to the stairs that would take them out of his garage and into his home.

"Heh, Tony if you think I'm sleeping with you on the first date then you are sadly mistaken." Charlie said as she crossed her arms, she was still wearing his jacket as it was practically swimming in it.

"First date?" Tony asked with an airy chuckle and a smile, now that he thought about it that was kind of what it was. "That's not my intention though, Charlie." He admitted as he reached up and untied his already loosened tie.

"Really?" Charlie asked as she blushed slightly, honestly embarrassed that she had assumed Tony would want to sleep with her.

"Yeah, I just thought we could have one last drink. Then you could stay the night since it's pretty late, or-or I could call you a cab and pay for it. Whichever you're comfortable with." Tony said with a small shrug, genuinely wanting to do whatever Charlie was most comfortable with.

"Honestly... A place to crash for the night would be fantastic. I think I'm maxed out on drinks for the night though." Charlie said, the ability to hold liquor and not do something stupid was not her strong suit.

"Yeah, of course." Tony said, nodding in understanding with a smile as he led Charlie upstairs and into the sapere room, promising to be back as he disappeared for a moment. "Here, figured that dress isn't something you'd want to sleep in." He said as he returned with one of his shirts and a pair of sweat pants in his arms. 'Though I would love to see you lying on my bed, wearing practically noth- no! Bad Tony!' Tony mentally scolded himself when he once again having dirty thoughts about Charlie.

"Thanks Tony, I had fun tonight." Charlie said as she accepted the articles of clothing, giving him his suit jacket back in the process.

"Yeah, I had fun too Charlie." Tony said as he accepted the suit jacket and slung it over his shoulder by the collar, not expecting what happened next.

"I'm glad, now have a good night Tony. I'll see you in the morning." Charlie said before standing up on her tiptoes as she pressed a small kiss to Tony's cheek.

"Yeah, you have a good night too Charlie..." Tony uttered, watching Charlie retreat into the room and shut the door, blocking her from view as he still felt the lingering sensation of her lips against his skin.

Tony honestly didn't even register the fact that he started the trek back to his room as his fingers brushed over the spot that Charlie had kissed. God he sounded like a teenager, getting distracted or excited by the simplest things just because of one woman he met 6 hours ago. Maybe his hormones were getting the best of him, or maybe it had been one of those love at first sight moments, as cheesy as that does sound. He honestly didn't know, all Tony knew was this woman had caught his eye and he didn't want to let her slip through his fingers. Charlie had to be a very special woman, otherwise she wouldn't have had this much of an effect on him right away. Even Pepper hadn't had this much of an effect on him the first time they had met when she became his secretary. So it both intrigued and terrified him at the same time that he could be feeling like this so soon. Imagine what could happen if he succeeded at building off of these feelings he was getting. That was the last thought that ran through Tony's mind as he fell asleep, his dreams plagued by the beautiful blonde sleeping in his spare room.

Meanwhile back in the spare room Charlie had finished changing as she draped her dress over a nearby chair, placing her shoes on the floor next to it. The shirt and sweatpants Tony had given her to wear were baggy but were extremely comfortable to wear. She had immediately noticed how there was the distinct smell of cologne mixed in with the smell of detergent on the shirt. Meaning that despite the fact that the shirt has been washed Tony's prefered cologne scent was still lingering there. Though deep under that there was another smell, a sort of musky slightly metallic smell that she honestly thought seemed to fit Tony so well. Which meant that he wore this shirt alot, so he basically gave her his favorite shirt to sleep in. That deduction made Charlie blush slightly before she scolded herself for acting like a teenage girl with a crush, she's a S.H.I.E.L.D agent for christ sake! With a shake of her head she climbed into the bed, burying herself under the covers as she fell asleep. Her dreams plagued by the charming billionaire playboy that is supposed to be her mark and nothing more.
