Author Note: Hey Guys, How's it going? I know that I have started this story with less than exciting chapters but trust me clarity is very important when you are writing and/ or reading a story. The first time I read TLT; I thought it lacked a back-story I mean the details like what exactly happened when Sally married smelly Gabe? Was/ was not Percy abused as a child and how exactly did it start? So all that things I felt were lacking I want to cover in my story. I still think that Rick didn't exactly understand that people don't simple gain skills/ strength without working for it; don't you think so? I mean the guy barely attended camp since he was 12 and after 4 years POOF! He's strong and skilled enough to take on Titans. Plus I don't want Percy to depend too much on the sea's aid so that's it sorry for the long A/N but I just hope that you guys understand why I am doing this. Enjoy the day!

Chapter-1: Lost at the Sea

Third Person POV:

In the cool month of August a 5 year old boy with raven black hair and bright emerald green was running around on the beach of Montauk, New York. He had an excited look on face which only served to make him cuter, running behind him was a beautiful woman in her early 20's she had dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. She was trying and failing from keeping the mischievous boy from splashing people. When they were finally done running around the place, the exhausted mother and son sat at the shoreline taking in the peace of night sky and the gentle lapping of the tides at their feet. They were Sally Jackson and her son Percy Jackson.

Sally's POV:

It's been a long time since I've been to the beach, some people just don't know how relaxing it is to lie down and try to reminisce the joy of childhood. Sighing I looked at my boy Percy he was so young, so full of energy it hurt her to think about what she must do, it would seem cruel for anyone else, But only a mother knows how difficult it is to do what is necessary to keep her son safe. Sighing once again she shook her head to clear her thoughts only to see Percy playing with seashells, she smiles at her baby boy he was going to be greatest hero to ever live don't ask me how I just know. She vowed to herself and every deity above that listened that she would raise him to the best of her ability. I suddenly froze when Percy asked me "Mommy why is daddy is not with us, i-is he d-d-dead?" he asked me. There was a hint of sadness in his eyes like he was dreading the answer, 'how am I supposed to answer that question'; I kept thinking of what to say without hurting his young mind too much. Well I have to answer someday, here goes nothing "Percy" I started softly trying to keep my own tears at the bay "your father never actually married me, we were together for less than a year. He was a good man Percy; tall, strong and handsome but also gentle and kind you are a lot like him you know you have the same black hair and sea green eyes. He loved you very much Percy, but one day he had to go on an important business trip in the Atlantic and then…. I trailed off. But I had to finish this he must know he deserves to know "There was a heavy storm a-and h-he never came back Percy" I finished. It was too much too painful that I was crying by the end of it. I was somewhat relived when my son clutched onto me protectively, he spared a concerned glance before saying "mommy, I'm sorry for asking, but I promise I'll never you". I smiled touched by his concern but what surprised me was the single tear on his left cheek, I thought he would be really sad but at least Percy's taking this better than I expected. "I know Percy, I know you won't" I replied "Look at the sea Percy when you think of daddy, he's not dead he's just lost at the sea.
