There was nothing that could be done for Pinky and Skippy, other to barricade the room. Brain and Slappy both agreed this was the best course of action to prevent them from hurting themselves or someone else. It was decided by the group to leave Acme Labs with the research they had conducted and approach Warner Brothers Studios yet again. Hello Nurse had a sinking feeling that the studio and the people in it were in mortal peril.

These suspicions were only confirmed when they stepped outside the lab and saw a small army of police cars, fire engines, and ambulances rush past them, sirens blaring and horns blowing. They were heading straight for the studio.

Scratchansniff gulped, "That can't be good!"

The group of humans and toons followed the chaos as quickly as they could. Shouting and gunfire could be heard at the front gate as cop cars and fire trucks attempted to block the entrance of the studio. A pair of EMTs carried a body on a gurney, escorted by cops rapidly firing into the studio gate at something approaching from behind. Squinting at the body on the gurney showed huge bloody gashes, broken limbs, and body parts so severely mangled it was near impossible to make out the human body it once was. On top of that, blue ore sparkled from the gashes, catching the morning light and glaring off the walls of the studio.

One of the cops firing his gun frantically into the studio called out, "Someone call backup! I don't think we can-!"

He was silenced violently when a massive man jumped on him, roaring angrily. It was Ralph. The frightening blue ore jutted out of his body and viciously ripped at the man pinned beneath at him. Ralph grabbed the officer and threw him into the crowd of squad cars gathered around the entrance. Other officers had to duck in cover to avoid being hit by the body of their fellow cop. They opened fire on the beastly Ralph, which hardly slowed him down. Ralph charged, picked up one of the squad cars, causing the officers behind it to scatter, and threw it at a nearby ambulance. The squad car and the ambulance collided, exploding into a violent fireball that forced all the nearby cops to scatter in a blind panic.

More sirens approached. Several armored SWAT vehicles arrived on the scene. The trucks screeched to a halt, one nearly hitting Ralph. SWAT agents poured out the back and opened fire on Ralph. A tear gas bomb was tossed in his direction, going off and spewing toxic fumes. Ralph roared in anger and retreated back into the studio, pursued by SWAT teams and their vehicles. Shouting, gunfire, and roaring soon came from inside the studio as the SWAT men and the remaining police officers battled whatever horrible monstrosities were currently roaming the studio.

"Our suspicions were correct." Brain said upon witnessing this event, "The Warners released their half-toon abominations into the studio."

"And now they're wreaking havoc!" Scratchansniff concluded.

"Wh-what do we do?!" Pesto demanded, sounding genuinely frightened.

"I say we charge in there, mallets a-blazing, and show 'em what we're made of!" Slappy offered, pulling her mallet out of her purse and raising it up high.

"There's no way we can go in there safely!" Hello Nurse argued, "Those men are trying to fight off the half-toons with guns and tear gas. We could be caught in the crossfire!"

Brain sat there, trying to think of something. He glanced around at all of them as he paced the sidewalk, "We need to find what's driving those half-toons feral. They are not attacking on their own accord."

"But Hello Nurse and I can't go in there!" Scratchansniff cried, "We'll end up dead! Gone! Kapoo-ey!"

Pesto suddenly stepped in the middle of the group, "Maybe you can't, but I can!" He flared his wings, smirking with sheer confidence, "I can fly. I can get the going ons in the studio and report back here! How's about it?"

"Pesto, we couldn't ask that of you-" Hello Nurse started.

"No no," Brain interrupted her, "He has a point. He's a toon. He should be fine to explore the studio from a bird's eye view."

"See? The forehead rat agrees with me!" Pesto nodded, grinning proudly.

"And while Pesto is assessing the situation," Brain continued as he pulled out a bag of things that he couldn't have possibly fit anywhere on his person and set it down in the grass, "Hello Nurse, I request that you and I continue to develop the Warnerium antidote. I believe we are close to achieving a formula that will not kill the half-toons, but significantly slow them down."

Hello Nurse nodded, "Of course. Then we can help stop the destruction!"

Pesto took a deep breath and spread his wings, "Alright! I'll go check out what's going on! Pesto, awaaaay!"

The pigeon lifted off, taking to the skies. He ascended to a safe height and looked down on the studio. From above, he could see SWAT men and police officers engaging with freakish, blue covered half-toons. Pesto flew over the lot, gazing down with worry. He looked up and spotted the Warner Brothers executive office rising above the rest of the buildings. Pesto got an idea.

What if I pull that Thaddeus out and show him just what's going on? Since he didn't believe us!

Pesto's need to prove someone wrong propelled him forward. He landed on a window seal and peered inside. The offices were empty, everyone had either tried to escape the studio or had not come in today. Pesto found a slightly open window and squeezed his way into it.

The office hallway was completely silent other than the sounds of gunfire and half-toon carnage far below. Pesto waddled down the corridor, reaching the door to the CEO's office. It was left slightly ajar. There were scratch marks in the carpet where someone had dug the heels of their shoes into the floor. Pesto gulped, suddenly feeling uneasy.

Inside the office, a few things were oddly out of place. The chair to the desk ahead was tipped over. A few papers were scattered on the floor. More scratch marks were etched into the carpet. Though the damage wasn't extensive, there had been a struggle here. Pesto fluttered up to the desk, taking a look at everything he could find. There was a small wooden box that had been left open. It looked rather old, with scratches and etchings into the side of it. Approaching closer, Pesto's heart dropped as he noticed the writing on the side of the box:

"PROPERTY OF THE WARNER BROTHERS (AND SISTER)."

Pesto quickly knocked the box over out of fear. Out fell dozens of syringes filled with a glowing blue liquid. They bounced around on the carpet; one injected itself into the floor and spilled out the liquid. It fizzled and dissolved the carpet and only stopped when it reached the solid stone floor beneath. Pesto watched with wide eyes, barely able to believe what he was seeing.

He whipped around, glancing around at the executive desk to confirm his suspicions. There was a mug shaped like Bugs Bunny that had been partially duct taped back after shattering. A half-written check sat underneath Pesto's feet, signed with the name Thaddeus Plotz. Looking closer, the check was made out to one single name:

"Pay to: Yakko Warner."

Pesto felt his rage build up in him. He growled and kicked the mug off the table, letting out an angry roar. He launched into one of his enraged rants.

"Why that dirty little-! He was lying to us this whole time! He knew everything that was going on! He's been-! He's been giving those Warner kids money! And getting those injections back?! He lied to us! Why when I see him again, I'll-!"

Pesto picked up the check in his beak, cooing angrily, "I'll just take this back to the rest of 'em! And then we can go after that lying big wig together! Why I'm so angry I could-!"

A strange noise caught Pesto's attention. A small sound, like someone scratching at a window pane. He glanced around, searching for the source of the sound. The executive office was full of windows, so made it had just been a bird scratching at one of them. Pesto shrugged it off and turned to face the window directly behind the executive desk.

He shrieked, dropping the check.

Staring at him through the glass was his old pals, Squit and Bobby. Their smiles were stretched too big for their little pigeon faces. They were boring holes into Pesto with their dead blue eyes. They leaned against the glass, their beaks pressed hard into the window pane.

Pesto took a step back, shaking in his feathers, "Sq-Squit? B-B-Bobby? What are you two...?!" His blood ran cold as he looked at the blue ore sticking up through his old friends' feathers, "No... You two...!"

Squit took his wing covered in Warnerium ore and smashed it into the window. It cracked and fractured, but didn't quite shatter. Pesto screamed. He picked up the check in a panic and flew straight to the door. Behind him, he heard the window break open and the sound of heavy wings approaching him. He glanced behind him and saw Squit and Bobby in hot pursuit. The two were laughing with unhinged glee, clearly out of control of their actions.

Pesto's panic fueled his adrenaline. He flew as fast as he could out the window he came in and rocketed across the studio lot. He wouldn't fight his old pals no matter what.
