Please if you have loved my writing copy & paste, click, or search whatever you need to do to follow and share because I just want to stop my hard work and become the best writer I can someday. I don't know if its okay for me to be asking on here or not but I'll share once with y'all and if anyone disapproves I wont do it again. I know I have a few stories I was suppose to finish but this one is first.. just another chapter or two at least could be more.

The house was not made for this many people if it had been maybe Ginny wouldn't be sharing a room with her aunt. Then again with everyone taking up all four rooms available that was expected. Fortunately it was for sleeping anyways Ginny had no time or need to be in the stuffy rooms otherwise. Neville sent letters to her about settling muggle borns or students on the run in the room of requirements to hide.

She was concerned until he clarified the school it's self made it safer. He asked for a place to hide where no one could get in when he was finally singled out as ringleader. The room gave it to him. As long as one person remains in the room it won't disappear.

Thankfully the room expanded and offered many things including eventually a way to outside and that meant food and contact with Aberforth. Thus his letters to her. How Minerva get them to him before she had no idea. Tension grew when word came from Bill that Harry was going to Gringotts. That they were all going and he'd taken a goblin to make sure there was no trouble.

There was definitely going to be trouble. But at least they had a safe place to return. How they got there without knowing why or how long they might be Ginny sought out comfort. Her family should know Ron was okay. Not just Ron but the trio found Luna. Luna was okay too though there wasn't much explanation on how they got her or even got her free.

"Mum Dad a letter came from Bill." They immediately circled her as they often did when something was happening. "It's okay but Harry, Ron, and Hermione was there."

"Was?" Her mom looked to Arthur ready to bust into tears.

"They escaped, After the alert on the family they got caught so they knew Ron was with Harry, but they escaped with other people. Now they are going to Gringotts we need to be ready for anything. I think we should all get a few hours of sleep and food."

"Molly.. Look at me dear. Let's rest now and then you can prep some things. Do you need a potion?" Her mother couldn't sleep without one. Her nightmares were unnaturally vivid and bore all of her children which all but broke her heart to dream of their deaths. She nodded understanding the facts that the end was so near.

"Mr. and Mrs. Weasley?" Tonks entered the room probably hearing Ginny calling out to them. "What's going on?"

"Nothing you should worry about Tonks. You and Teddy are best here anyways." Ginny looks at her and gestures for her to sit as her parents leave.

"Sorry they just want you to be safe for Teddy. I do to but I know we can't make you stay. Things are moving seems like somethings pushing things closer to the end of this very soon."

"Good we can't stand another week," " with lovely Aunt Muriel." Goerge says then Fred when they hear this. "Mom looks like she needs this all to wrap up too." Fred said last no judgement in his tone because everyone wanted this all to be over.

"What are they up too, the trio, that's what you got word about right?" Tonks asks putting a comforting hand that Ginny was looking for on hers.

"Thanks. I'm not sure really Bill sent something about them running off to Gringotts. I think they are sneaking in.."

"They aren't going to be on the goblins good side after if they do." Tonks says casually but they all are sitting there silently for a moment as if to wish them the best of luck. "When they finish we need to be refreshed. They might need some patching up or they might head straight to wherever they are headed next. Let's just hope it's somewhere we can all hear about and help them."

"Yeah. I sent Mum and Dad to get some rest just in case." Tonks squeezes Ginny's hand softly.

"That's a good idea for all of us."

The house bustled several hours later. Potions were brewed for healing, Replenishing, and all sorts. When news came from Neville that Harry and the team was there, at the school, everything moved real fast. Ginny's last moments with Tonks were as sweet at she could make them.

Despite how much her parents begged her to stay home and Tonks wished she would Ginny had to see for herself that her friends and family were okay. She slipped into the room of requirements to chattering voices. So many student and a few adults all in the room. Spotting Neville Ginny ran up to him giving him a hug. Then she thumped him in the arm receiving an 'ow'

"How much are you willing to risk of your own life you reckless.." the remarks went on but the once shy boy grinned at her for her concerns. He was a leader now giving tasks and calming others down. Just then Neville patted her on the shoulders and said.

"You're one to talk didn't you lie to the death eaters and get flagged with your family. Besides Harry says they're off looking for something when he comes back shouldn't you be feeling mad at him getting involved in all sorts of dangerous things."

As he says this though Harry and Luna burst in with news. Hey explains a fight is gonna happen so a lot needs to be done. Everyone gets a task and scatters. It doesn't take long till he sees her and freezes.

In front of him she hesitates as his eyes express his hope to reconnect soon. She knew this was hard times for him but they broke up thus how can she hug him before her own family. Luna looked at the pair of them and started hurry people away.

This was pinnacle of all the years war has been brewing once again. Ginny hated to be the one to tear away all the feelings he might still have. Still she knew if she didn't it would hurt Tonks. This alone gave her the strength the hug him briskly.

Harry now knew she was happy to see him alive but not happier than a friend. Yes he was like family to Ron and her parents but in her eyes he saw her pain had moved on. Thankfully he seemed as grateful as he could be.

"I'm glad you're not still mad. I mean I'm sure you are but thanks for showing up. We all worried about you guys."

"And us you guys."

"Have you talked to Tonks I've seen Remus not acting normal." Ginny nods.

"Yeah she's safe where we have been since hiding. Can't really say more."

"Oh yeah I suppose I should..look for the diadem Luna was helping me look for it before we got caught up in the main hall kicking out the death eaters."

"You are looking for that?"

"Yeah I needed to find it." Then he was off despite awkwardly trying to kiss her forehead. She bounced out of his way. While she was in the corner waiting for someone to tell her what do she saw Tonks, no Teddy, and she looked ready to fight.

Quickly she wedged into the circle of witches and wizards making plans. Instead of hearing a debate about her presence she heard a very clear plan where she'd be one of the first to follow any initial attacks.

"What! Give me a job too if a new mom can fight so can I."

"Ginny it's her job and her choice." Her father says.

"Where-" she starts but Tonks cuts her off.

"My mom fire called she got my messages about leaving the burrow and just got settled in a new hiding spot." Ginny's eyes well up.

"I wanna help." Ginny says only imagining Tonks getting stopped by Remus. Her parents spring their attention back to her at this.

"No you're under 18."

"I'm of age. Just because I'm under 18 doesn't mean I can't. I need to help my family, Tonks, everyone I care about will be out there fighting." Ginny says causing Harry to interject only to be talked over by Tonks.

"I can't be an Auror and sit back. I'm not going out there alone I'll look after your family."

"And we will look after her." Molly says urging Arthur to agree if it meant Ginny would stay.

"Harry Kingsley needs you! He's in the great hall."someone says. He looks at the expressions shared between them and as the realization of how important Tonks's safety was to not just Ginny he slowly bowed his way out.

Ginny looked not at his retreating form but at the love her life. With eyes that begged her to go back. Go get teddy and stay safe. Tonks whispers to Ginny she'd do this to keep Ginny safe but it's not about that. It's about all the kids in the school the would or wouldn't be fighting. The more she gave the less they would have too.

As much as Ginny needed to cry and let the tears shower a bit of protection over Tonks she was the only one there to guide and comfort evacuating kids. Once the last kid left she closed her eyes though trying not to imagine the worst. Hearing Voldemort voice was freaky enough she couldn't fathom the terrors that her family faced alone.

Bursting through the door Harry Ron and Hermione all looked at her like she shouldn't or couldn't be there. Ron and her hug but he tries ushering her from the room moments later. Not that she had any hesitation with this despite Harry begging her to stay till they got what they needed.

"Like hell I am." She mutters beginning to run. She finds a number of death eaters along the way. They are all taken down with one or two quick thinking spells or hexes. Skidding through corridor after corridor she expects some relief at some point. The only relief she wants is to see each member of her family make it through the night.

"No!" Her fathers voice can be heard near by, now she can't help but pick up her pace and run toward the chaos awaiting. There was a blast that smacked the wall making the corner it flew by the direction she needed to go. As she sprinted through Ginny is stunned to see exactly what was happening.

Lupin wore his usual old clothes but instead of his presence bringing good things for their side he was covered in blood. His nails were long and out front no wand as it laid at her fathers feet. He would never strike him but Ginny is not slowing down. As Lupin springs toward Tonks's who's exposed from being knocked down Ginny accepts she has to do anything to keep her safe.

Before she has a chance though Arthur hit him back with a spell. His stun is as ineffective on him as all the stuns on Hagrid when he was attacked but he isn't on top of Tonks anymore and so Ginny helps her to her feet. If her shaking was in fear or anger her face hid it well.

"Lupin this is madness, you're one of us." A pause filled with silence. "Either you are or I will protect all my family from you including Tonks!"

Moving in front of Tonks's she urges her away as her father sets his aim firmly on Lupin. Prepared or not the blood riddled clothing mixed with the deadly intentions in his eyes didn't bode well. His speed called raw skill to prove itself as Ginny rolled half a spell off her lips.

"Avada Kedavra" it's what she wanted to say but it wasn't her voice. Struck down the snarling face froze and what began to escape his throat ceased as he hit the ground. A cold chill of relief for Tonks's safety flooded Ginny. Underneath it was a sorrowful loss of a once good friend.

Arthur drops his wand in disbelief then stumbles to Tonks. His grief and energy draining from his body to his face. Tonks and Ginny sweep in to support him instantly. Not forgetting his wand they lead him far into the castle walls.

"I didn't have a choice…" saying it over an over they assured him they know. Tonks hushed his apologies despite the deep wound seeing the father of her child die. Ginny knew neither one needed to be fighting anymore so she sat with them. It wasn't all her family but for now their safety kept here from running back out into the chaos.

Some time later Lupin's body was brought in and Kingsley ordered his people to not let anyone remove him from their wounded. Harry gloomily noted now all the Marauders were together again in death. then he mentioned how he knew Remus wasn't acting right the one time he saw him lurking at Sirius's place with other death eaters.

Ginny knew she was holding her lovers hand while Harry was present but his shoulders were being held by Draco Malfoy, which strangely wasn't weird to see. Had something happened to make them friends and then some. She had no intention of asking but observed through to the end. people grieved others found comfort that their loved ones were safe. Despite the end not coming until after Harry sacrificed himself and damned them all frightfully into grieving him before springing back to life to finish Voldemort once and for all. She stayed safely inside consoling her father who'd been give a calming drought after it was all over.

Molly hadn't been much help she swore but by the time the rest of her family came back they were spilling stories about her robustly saving not only Fred and Percy but also knocking Bellatrix out for threatening to kill Tonks when she found her, so hard that she was arrested well before she woke up.

They all mused that perhaps now that it was all over she might be fixable with proper exposure to all the things that usually mended maddened people. Family visitors, a rehab like they do most anywhere else. That was Hermiones idea though she looked ruined that she might have hoped she'd just get killed. Hermione had a right to it but she would never actually be happy to see it.

Tonks didn't feel right having the woman who was planning on killing her alive but she pictures the outcome if her aunt truly got better. There was an exchange of words between Narcissia that resulted in stunning silence from Bellatrix. The chatter about it said that Narcissia was making things right switching sides because Harry told her her son was alive and safe. Lied for him and refused to fight beside her husband. He was not given much leniency but enough that they could be a hearing to save him.

Later on when Andromeda returned home, after receiving an all clear alert, then traveled to the burrow with her husband and grandchild to find Tonks alive they explained everything.from Lupins death to Narcissia bold statements. While happy that her daughter was alive and her sisters while still demented were also alive the loss of Lupin crossed her heavily.

"Why am I more hurt by his death than you. I thought you were in love with him. Bonded even." Teddy grabs out for Tonks who gently takes him.

"We were but the night he attacked me and I was arranged to stay with the Weasley's our bond was severed. I love who he was but I've been more frightened of who he became. I've bonded to someone else though and it still new but much healthier than anything I had with Lupin."

"You found Love in this year of isolation. How?" Tonks heard her fathers skepticism as he asked but watched as her mother hushed his tone and made sure to remain open minded.

"Love can come at anytime dear. You should know as well as I." The moment they turned back to Tonks she was handing Teddy endearingly over to Ginny.so much for subtle Ginny thought.

Over the next few days Andromeda made time while helping arrange things to get to know Ginny more. Ginny was a light addition to Tonks nature to switch moods easier than most, fall into depression or battle sadness and anger spikes. Ginny kept her cheerful. She was also kind and thoughtful. prepped food whenever Tonks forgot to eat. She'd sing to Teddy when he was fussy and Tonks had just fallen asleep. Andromeda just adored their relationship so much so that she sealed her approval by giving Tonks her own engagement ring.

"This isn't to give to Ginny now or even later if you're not sure how you might work out, though I do think she is a wonderful fit. It's more of a 'I never saw your relationships have such healthy emotions before' token. I only offer you this one now another before because I wanted Lupin to offer you something wholly out of his love for you not resist and then give you what you wanted by receiving my blessings. We both can see you have potential to love again. So this is for whenever you are ready."

"Mum I can't take this what will dad say when he thinks you've lost it or something."

"Don't fuss over that he knows I love him and I've got my band. Let's start passing down our family things the right way. I am so happy you made it through the war. I'd need to pass things to you and you to your kids it's the way it should be." Tears welled up and both Andromeda and Tonks began hugging and sobbing.

"Stop crying you're making me cry." Eventually Tonks looked deeply at her mother and thanked her for understanding. "I know you haven't the best things from your family to pass down but I'm glad we get to start doing it too. I love Ginny and I know our bond is deep so much deeper than I had before but I'm taking things slower let her find out what she can and can't do after school. She's gonna play quidditch and I'm not going to slow her down."

"Good just as you should."

"Mother she does know what she wants it's just I've grown over this last year or two. I know the difference between what I have now and what I had before. I'm not afraid of loving someone who can love me freely, we both are."

"Potter had a good reason but not enough to make to heart stop falling in love though. You made him Teddy's god father though so Ginny must be fine with it all."

"We'll it's what proper Lupin wanted and so do I. Ginny says it's only fair with his parents and their friends gone it's the link of a grand story…or something like that."

It was true though Harry felt he had all this history to share and honor so while Teddy was young he promised to show up, be there, and love him but he'd never forget to be a part of his life either. As everyone was getting to see that Harry was living just fine after the war they also were privy to his budding romance.

It did begin to get crazy with no more fighting and families reuniting but as crazy as the war ending was it was nothing to hearing that while Ginny had been out of the room of requirements the trio saved Draco and that that in turn left Harry seeing a different side of his old foe. Ron and Hermione were surprised to see no more long strung out relationship emotions between Ginny and Harry as was most everyone else now that the year of hiding was over.

Amidst all the funerals and events held for bravery durning war people still found themselves asking all about it. Her reputation had been a lot on her feelings for Harry while the rest was her quidditch skills a fighting skills. Now through with school and with Tonks she felt capable of anything. Applying to as many quidditch teams as she could showing them her records and auditioning despite having to finish her last year still most of them agreed that she should keep up her quidditch and they would take her them.

Before long a routine started and weeks had passed. There was daily contact about almost everything. Andromeda said that Bellatrix was receiving some mental health treatment already, Hermione was reunited with her parents more recently, and Ron and Harry began trying to be an Auror.

"They have some natural talent for it. Ron hasn't got much interest in it but maybe as he get more into it he'll like it more." Tonks said one night after supper they were sitting at the dinner table talking

"Yeah Fred and George said they offered him a place to work but he hasn't changed his mind yet. It's a dangerous job, remember last year you said you had the safety of going undercover and having a team." Ginny knows her brother and as stubborn as he is eventually he'll realize where he wants to be.

"If he finishes I'm sure he will have a team and Harry might as well be on it but Harry has skills and power to get to the top one day. Ron could be a great second guy. I mean not that.. I know he's a better guy than most and he's your brother..sorry."

"It's okay he has to find his own place not in a shadow an he will but for now we let him do what he thinks is his dream." Ginny looked over to the clock in her parents home and realized just how much had changed no one was in mortal peril anymore. Fred and George were at their shop, Ron was home but outside with his parents. The burrow need fixing up once again after the entire debacle but the school needed it more. Thus for school to resume right and proper this time everyone was returning, well everyone except Ronald and Harry. They were determined to get the Auror jobs they dreamed of.

"I'm just glad we can share a few calm moments around here." Ginny and her were definitely glad things were not so high in stress anymore. They pop in but eventually leave to go back home for the night. So like clockwork they parted ways after a short while and the clock doesn't make any changes reminding her that the distance doesn't provide her comfort even after the war finished. Still she keeps on and goes about everyday duties.

Ginny and Hermione often studied while cleaning up the school. They sat with McGonagall many times helping each other feel better after a hard day. Every day was hard another place someone they knew died and another place they all fought back tears remembering each person. Luna whom missed a lot of school as well studied with the pair but often left with Neville to make the trip home safely. Her father was a mess without her. Over time weeks, even a month, the school still looked half recked but they were on schedule. A few times a week Tonks popped into help but often she was at work again of raising Teddy back home.

"You okay Gin?" Hermione asked. Instantly she fixed her expression and grinned.

"Of course just thinking." Most anyone else would have shrugged but Hermione looked at her funny.

"Seriously I'm aware you spent a whole year dealing with things alone or mostly alone but I'm here now and I wont let you push it all down for me.'

"Ok fine. Its nothing though just Tonks has been busy and back home i miss her and teddy when i go home."

"Have you visited her place. Its very nice. I think she's changed some things to be more comfortable but its truly great. I also know she might like you to stop in."

"But I don't want her to think I'm overstepping. In our house we had this connection what if she feel free and me stopping in ruins it?"

"Do you feel free?"

"No"

"You two bonded i doubt you are alone in how you feel. Go I'll cover you." At this Ginny beams brightly.

"Thanks 'mione" and she apparates away as the school has to many people coming and going to keep wards up.

Ginny remembers just fine we're Tonks lives so getting there instantly wasn't an issue. Showing up unannounced might be though. So quietly she raps the door in case Teddy is asleep. Andromeda opens the door and Ginny deflates.

"Oh Ginny! Tonks just payed down sweetheart."

"Shoot I didn't think I'll come back."

"Certainly not dear, come in stay you can see Teddy and wait for her she hasn't been getting much sleep so i came by to give her some time. I'm sure she'd be happy to see you when she wakes." Letting Ginny in Andromeda swept the door closed and took her to Teddy who was playing in the toy room. They didn't have much toys at her aunts house but he seemed well versed in them now. He cheered at her presence and offered her the toy in his left hand. "Oh you best take it dear he never offers that one to anyone but Tonks." Taking it and sitting with him she falls right into his games creating the biggest smiles for the tree of them. The moment was perfect and the only thing that would make it better is Tonks rested and well.
