Hogwarts castle. Day. Hermione jolted from bed, rushed taking her shower, wearing fresh clothes then she's back to her bed combing her wet bushy hair.
A sudden Ginny Weasley bursting into view then jumped on Hermione's bed.
Ginny loves to smell Hermione's fragrance she sprayed on her body. Ginny somehow asked Hermione what kind of fragrance she used to spray on her body.. Hermione just smiles without telling her anything.
"Good morning, Ginny". she said. Ginny laid on her bed. "Should we go for breakfast?"
"I haven't taken my shower yet". Ginny closed her eyes, and she fell asleep again. "It's the weekend. No class. Oh I love to sleep".
Hermione chuckles. Finishing combing her hair, she turns to Ginny who is already asleep. "Ginny? Do you want to learn something that will break our school rules".
"What does that mean?"
"You know Umbridge is taking over the entire school and not allowing us to do magic for our purpose". Ginny nodded, Hermione spoke back. "So, I'm suggesting this. Would you like to learn?"
"Like how Hermione who's gonna teach us magic. Not even the Professor trying to. Who will be? I'm not suggesting Snape".
Hermione frowned. "I haven't suggested it to anyone yet. But Harry will teach us magic. Why suddenly this morning you spilled Snape name in my bedroom".
"I thought you and Snape had some special relationship".
"Who says that, Ginny?"
"Everyone. Even Fred and George. Like I say.. everyone. Come on, Hermione. Seriously with Snape. Ron says he never washed his hair, smelling foot. No one knows what Snape is hiding under his cloak".
"Furs bunny". Hermione and Ginny laugh so hard. "Seriously Ginny. Me and Snape are nothing. Back to our conversation. Are you in?"
Ginny bite her lips. "Of course I'm in. I should ask other students if they want to join us. Sounds like combat, am I right, Hermione?"
"Yes. Against Umbridge, Ministry of Magic and You-Know-Who. That's combat".
"Percy's work with Fudge".
"I don't care who Percy works with. I somehow want to punch his face. He's always being bloody perfect. I bet no one even cares, especially Fred and George". She smiled. "Meet me in Hog's head. Bring the others if you can".
Hogsmeade later. The trio walk in the snow. "Hermione, where'd you find this place anyway?" asked Harry behind her.
"I searched for this place that belongs to Dumbledore's brother. Aberforth. So I think this is the best thing we could have this meeting there".
"This is mad. Who'd wanna be taught by me? I'm a nutter, remember?" said Harry.
"Look on the bright side, you can't be any worse than an old toad face".
Harry turns to Ron. "Thanks, Ron".
"I'm here for you, mate".
"Who's supposed to be meeting us, then?" asked Harry.
"Just a couple of people".
They arrive at Hog's head. Hermione swung the door open. "Lovely spot". Ron's eyes wander the place.
"Thought it would be safer off the beaten track".
Hogwarts ground. Lake. Snape walked on the ground. Students hadn't bothered him to wander around the castle. At least he's out of Dungeons and away from Slytherin house a bit.
He stood facing the view, feeling someone approaching. "Severus?"
"What do you want, Dolores! Torturing me again".
Her toad face smiled. "I'm not. I'm here because I heard a rumor that you and Miss Granger had done something against Ministry of Magic rules. Short word. In love". Snape turns to her. "Is that true?"
"You hear the rumor, Dolores. You're not deaf or blind. Have you ever seen Miss Granger and I having special time in my Dungeons? Does she look pregnant to you?"
His eyes jerked as he approached her. "I have no problem with that but - you. Dolores". His eyes. "Never hear the rumor unless you saw with your very own eye".
Umbridge backed away a bit. She may be a little bit scared of Snape, but nothing could stop her from finding an answer from Snape.
"Alright. Have a nice day, Severus". She was smirking. "If I caught you both together, I'm not hesitate to drop you out from school, including Miss Granger, Severus".
She walked back to the castle. Snape watches her. "Piggy Git!"
Back to Hog's head. Harry, Ron, Hermione and a couple of people sit in silence as Harry studies who sits beside Hermione.
She also doesn't know where she should start first. She turns to Harry a bit then rises with words.
"Hi". She blinks. "So you all know why we're here. We need a teacher. A proper teacher. One who's had experience defending themselves against the Dark Arts".
"Why?"
Ron snorts. "Why? Because You-Know-Who's back, you tosspot".
"So he says".
"So Dumbledore says".
"So Dumbledore says because he says. The point is, where's the proof?"
Everyone went silent. "If Potter could tell us more about how Diggory got killed..." Harry rises.
"I'm not gonna talk about Cedric, so if that's why you're here, clear out now".
He turned to Hermione. "Come on, Hermione. They're here because they think I'm some sort of freak!"
Luna Lovegood smiled as she spoke. "Is it true you can produce a Patronus Charm?"
"Yes". said Hermione. "I've seen it".
"Blimey, Harry. I didn't know you could do that". amused Dean.
Neville spoke. "And he killed a basilisk, with the sword in Dumbledore's office".
"It's true. Third year, he fought off about a hundred Dementors at once". said Ron.
Hermione nodded. "Last year, he really did fight off You-Know-Who in the flesh".
"Wait. Look, it all sounds great when you say it like that... but the truth is, most of that was just luck. I didn't know what I was doing half the time. I nearly always had help".
"He's just being modest".
"No, Hermione, I'm not. Facing this stuff in real life is not like school. In school, if you make a mistake, you can just try again tomorrow. But out there... when you're a second away from being murdered... or watching a friend die right before your eyes... You don't know what that's like".
Harry takes a seat, followed by Hermione.
"You're right, Harry, we don't. That's why we need your help. Because if we're going to have any chance at beating... Voldemort..."
"He's really back". said Nigel. Harry nodded his head. Everyone went silent again, even though they were afraid. They had to do something.
Later moments, they agree to sign up their name. Hermione found a paper and pencil around the corner. The trio wrote their name first on the paper.
Everyone gets in line, so they can write their name on it. Joining Dumbledore's army wasn't that bad.
Maybe..
Wooden bridge. Later. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, Fred and George. Walking back toward the castle. Talking.
Hermione never feels better. Her head, her foot as her heart thumping. She wants to see Snape in the dungeons, and wants to tell him something she had done today.
And what if she does - what will she do to him? That's right, she will hug and kiss Snape on the lips. She is mental.
"Right. First we need to find a place to practice... where Umbridge won't find out".
"The Shrieking Shack".
"It's too small".
"Forbidden Forest?"
"Not bloody likely".
"Harry!" Everyone turns to Ginny. "What happens if Umbridge does find out?"
"Who cares?" Hermione screams in excitement. "I mean, it's sort of exciting, isn't it, breaking the rules?"
Ron studied her. "Who are you and what have you done with Hermione?" Hermione shakes her head.
"Anyway, at least we know one positive thing that came from today". She turns to look at Harry.
"What's that?"
"Cho couldn't take her eyes off you, could she?"
Harry's smile blushed. "Right. Over the next few days, we should each come up... with a couple of possibilities of places we can practice. We've got to make sure, wherever it is, there's no chance she can find us".
"Will do, Harry".
Above the clock tower. Umbridge is watching.
