Disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Potter series. I do however own two dogs I have in a round about way named after Draco and Ginny!

Well, I know it's been a while (okay a lot longer than a while) since I updated this story. I do apologize for that. It's inexcusable, I know. But now I'm back and writing again. Forgive me please! And enjoy the chapter. Trust me, there are more to come.

Without further ado...

Chapter 3

Draco POV

Ginny. The little Weasley's name was Ginny. I felt triumphant at the completion of step one of my plans to seduce her. As I watched her hurry away, back towards the library table she, Blaise and I currently occupied, I couldn't help but smile. Though I had the feeling she told me her name more out of her desire to be civil with me, I still counted this as a victory. Step one was complete.

Shoving my hands into my pockets, I strode back to the table where Ginny was already pouring over another potions book. "This is useless," Blaise muttered as I took my seat beside Ginny once again. "We're never going to agree on one."

"I agree, none we are finding in the books are any good," I said, reaching over and closing the book Ginny was flipping through.

"Hey, I was reading that," she complained with a scowl at me. Okay, so maybe just because she told me her name didn't mean we were suddenly all buddy buddy. That's okay, that's were step two of my plan to seduce her came in.

How to Seduce a Weasley: Step Two - Befriend the Weasley.

"So what do you suggest?" Blaise asking, drawing me from my thoughts.

"Well, can either of you think of any potions not in these books we can brew? It needs to be something that wouldn't completely be horrid to test on ourselves," I said, a few coming to mind that I would't mind testing on Ginny. I grinned internally at the idea.

"So, nothing lethal, obviously," Ginny said, folding her hands atop the book I had closed. "And nothing with bad side effects, like boils in unmentionable places."

Blaise cringed, and nodded. "Where do you come up with that?" he asked, slightly horrified.

She laughed lightly, closing her eyes for a moment. "My brothers," she answered with a smile.

"Which ones?" I asked, trying not to let my voice sound mocking, like it usually would have been at the mention of her overly large family.

She gave me a look before answering, one I couldn't quite figure out. "Fred and George, they run the joke shop in Diagon Alley. They came up with the potion."
"You know, that could be helpful. It's not often we could converse with the actual makers of the potion. All the ones we've been looking at were made by men often long dead, or at least inaccessible to us," I said, the wheels in my mind turning.

"You aren't thinking of that boil potion are you?" Blaise asked, overly worried about getting boils on his backside.

"No of course not. So, Ginny, what other potions have they made?" I asked, using her name on purpose so as to silently gloat to Blaise that I learned her name.

"Quite a few really, but several are nixed off the list, such as that boil potion. Let's see, theres the standard love potions, heartbreak teardrops, twilight moonbeams, and the kissing concoction. Most are basically variations on the love potion, slightly different side effects on each."

"Well, I say we choose one of those," I said, smiling at the prospect of testing those potions.

"But which one?" Blaise asked, looking over the list he'd written when she named them off. "We don't know exactly what they all do. What do you suggest, love?"

Ginny frowned at the term of endearment he used often for her, but answered anyway. "Well, they're all pretty difficult potions since they have to be so precise. The hardest is probably the kissing concoction, but that's because the brew time. The others aren't so bad, but still very touchy. My personal favorite is the kissing concoction. I'd choose that one personally."

"So, though we can guess from the name, what exactly does this one do?" I questioned once she was done talking.

"Well, it works like any other love potions. It causes extreme infatuation with the giver of the potion. But the main desire it causes is the desire to kiss. So, the drinker will feel the undeniable desire to kiss whoever gave them the potion," she said, absentmindedly stacking the discarded potion books.

"So you said it's hard to brew, why? What makes it so difficult?" Blaise asked worriedly. He was the worse at potions of the three of us. It was only my aid that got him into the NEWT level class to begin with.

"The brewing time, like I said," she told him. "Once it becomes the light pink shade that marks the halfway point, it is set to simmer for two days. The only difficulty is that it has to be stirred every hour on the hour. If it's not stirred, the potion will burn and be completely useless. I helped Fred and George brew it several times over the summer. It's completely exhausting."

"But you know how to make it," I pointed out. "That would give us a big advantage. And when we go to make changes, we can talk to your brothers about it. Since they came up with it, they would know what could be changed."

"I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping us," Ginny agreed.

"Well, it's settled then," I voiced, waiting a second to see if either of them would object. "So the first thing to do is brew it as is."

"We'll need to do it over a weekend. That will be the only time we can devote so much time to a potion. Not this weekend though, I have other plans already," Ginny said, packing her things back into her bag and getting ready to leave.

"What plans have you got?" Blaise asked, his voice a little too innocent in his curiosity.

"It's really none of your business," she said, standing up and heading to leave. "But if you must know, I've got a date in Hogsmeade tomorrow."

***

"A date, she's got a bloody date!' I ranted angrily as soon as the door to my dorm room closed behind Blaise and I.

"Calm down mate, it may not be serious," Blaise offered with a grin. He was obviously enjoying the setback I was faced with so soon after my triumph of learning her name.

"Did you not see that coy little grin on her face when she said it?" I nearly yelled at him. "I'd say it's pretty damn serious!"

"So what are you going to do about it?" Blaise asked, still grinning from ear to ear.

"Me? Nothing," I said, a smile of my own creeping onto my face. "We, however, are going to Hogsmeade tomorrow."

"Hey now! Why drag me into this?" he complained loudly, the grin finally slipping from his features.

"Because I said so. Besides she'll be suspicious if it's just me tailing her. If it's both of us though, we could just be two mates hanging out who happen to run into her," I told him mater-of-factly.

"Oh bloody hell mate, why is it always me?" Blaise asked with a resigned sigh.

I just grinned at him as I began to plan out tomorrow. "We'll have to find a way to know where she's going," I said, almost to myself. "That mean's we'll have to tail her, not just conveniently run into her there. So we should wait on the grounds by the gate. There's a shady little grove we can hid in and wait for her to pass. We'll have to follow from a distance. With luck she won't notice us."

"Maybe she'll be so enamored with her date she won't care to look anywhere but him," Blaise said, sarcasm dripping from his voice as he folded his arms over his chest and pouted.

"Oh grow up Blaise," I said with a roll of my eyes. "Wherever she goes to eat, which I assume this date of her will take her out to eat, we will just happen to chose there to eat too. If we get a table close enough I can listen and see how serious things between them are. If it seems too cosy, I'll interfere. A bit of wordless magic and she'd never be the wiser."

"And what if he's taking her to Madam Puddifoot's?" he asked. "I am not going in there with you mate. I may take a girl but two men do not go in there together."

"Well, we'll figure something out," I said, brushing away his concern.

"Don't you think you're being a bit too obsessive?" my best friend asked with a sigh.

I gave him a hard look. "She can not have a boyfriend, or even a love life. You know she would be the kind of person who would never cheat. And that means her only romantic interest this year can be myself. And if that means I have to tail her to Hogsmeade and find a way to ruin her date, then I will," I said firmly. "And you are going to help me because you're my best mate."

"But doing this helps you with your progression of the bet. Which means I'm working against myself, lowering my odds of wining. Now why would I do that?" he asked, as if just realizing he had a way out of helping me.

I gave him a pleading look, knowing it would be so much easier with him.

"Come on mate," I said exasperatedly.

"Nope," he said with a big smile. "Why don't you find someone else to drag along. Besides, I may ask Kim on a date tomorrow. It's a good idea. Might even get somewhere with her. I may with the bet after all." With that, he gave me a smug grin and walked out.

I frowned at the door as it closed behind him. Now my life just got that much more difficult. It would look suspicious if it was just me sitting by myself. Ginny would surely take notice. Letting out a huge sigh, I followed Blaise out into the Common Room. It was fairly crowded since it was a Friday night and nobody ever worked on homework on a Friday night. It didn't take long to fine who I was looking for.

Gritting my teeth, I walked over to Pansy. "Parkinson," I said as greeting. "You'll be joining me in Hogsmeade tomorrow."

"Oh Draco, that would be lovely," she exclaimed, making me cringe. "I'd love to. What time do you want to leave?"

"Just meet me at the Three Broomsticks around eleven," I said, turning away."If I'm late, just wait for me."

"I'll wait for you forever Draco," she sighed happily as I walked away.

I scowled towards Blaise where he sat on a sofa with two girls hanging on him. He grinned back at me before turning to kiss one of the girls. I rolled my eyes and stalked off to my bedroom. Tomorrow was going to be hell.

Well, how was it? If it seems a bit rambling, I apologize. I tried my best to make it longer but it seemed to drag a bit. Anyway, I hope you liked it! Let me know what you think of it.

So, who do you think she's going to be meeting in Hogsmeade?
