Data frowned as he looked at the computer.
It was the early hours of the morning when most of the humanoids aboard the Enterprise where asleep apart from the ones on duty. Data usually commanded the vessel at such a time but on this occasion Lieutenant Wallace was in command in order to gain more experience in the role. Data had therefore busied himself in running a scan on some the ship's systems as they were due for a system upgrade at Starbase 8 when they arrived there next month. But he had come across something rather peculiar whilst running his scan.
A holodeck file had been buried deep, hidden under several lines of code in of all things the gravity system on the Enterprise. If he had not been running a level 1 diagnostic on that area, he might not have found it. The record of who created and programmed the holo simulation had been wiped from its existence so there was no telling as to when or who had created it or stored it in such a place. Who would want to place a holodeck problem there? It was highly unusual. He continued his investigation looking for more clues and signs that would inform him of its creator. He suspected that the reason the program was there was to be hidden or removed from anyone to find it. But alas the computer and his search did not provide him with any answers.
He considered taking this to Lt Worf as this might be a security issue having such random material stored in such a random area. However, this could all just be a simple misunderstanding and Data did have much experience on that matter. He fell foul to misinterpretation based on his lack of knowledge of human interactions and feelings. While he had researched and studied many different cultures, stories, and beliefs quite often the simplest forms of human interactions were beyond him and often leaving him as 'the butt of the joke' as young Wesley Crusher would say. Deciding to avoid that and since a simple holo program would cause him no harm Data decided to investigate it on his own in more detail.
He uploaded the program on holodeck three and stepped inside. It was forest with mix of different vegetation from trees and flowers to well-kept grass and a heighten sense of light and colour. It like almost like a fantasy like the works of a fairy tale Data noted as he walked around the setting. How curious as to why someone would want to hide this away. The aesthetics would quite pleasing and relaxing for most humanoid lifeforms Data considered. Perhaps not to Lt Worf but then Klingons did have their own tastes in relaxation.
"I am the goddess of Empathy. Cast off your inhibitions and embrace love, truth, joy." Data turned at the voice and was met with a representation of Deanna Troi. Counsellor Troi is in Grecian robes not unlike Greek woman back on ancient times on earth. Her skin as pale as her hair was dark, eyes full of lunacy and wisdom. She was positioned in a pose with her arms stretched out and carefully positioned giving her a look of grace and elegance. He recalled Geordi mentioning to him the Lt Barclay had a crush on the counsellor.
"Counsellor," Data spoke up seeing the representation and now it all made sense. He understood why such a program had been stored away as it would likely leave the creator in a state of embarrassment. This was an emotion that like all other Data could not feel but nevertheless he understand for humans it was one that lead to great shame and difficulty in interacting with others. A version of Counsellor Troi in such manner might not have been received in such a welcoming way by the crew and particularly the source of inspiration herself. Indeed, he recalled a message to all crew members from Commander Riker that recreating the likeness of a crew member was now banned on the Enterprise. Data had often wondered why such an extreme order had been given by Commander Riker who was known for his sense of fun.
"Discard your facade and reveal your true being to me," the Goddess spoke to him in a dreamlike and innocent way. Data decided that there was no harm in interacting with such a character as it might provide him with clues to his investigation.
"Greetings," Data replied. "My true being is one that you might not be familiar with, I am an android," Data explained. "While I have been program to a sophisticated degree, I cannot produce any emotion. So therefore, I cannot embrace any of that you have spoken of." Data said as a matter of fact.
But this response did not seem to faze the Goddess before him or perhaps she did not understand it. "You're just like a fine wine... my eyes could drink you in all night," she replied to him.
Data frowned at this as he had never been described in such a manner. True, many scientists had described him as a 'wonder' or 'an engineering feat' but never in such a romantic term. Data blinked before getting back at the task at hand. "May I ask who is your creator? Are you aware of who wrote your programming?" Data enquired.
"No one else exists but you right now," was the response the Goddess gave him.
Data blinked but really had not been expecting the hologram to know who created it. He had found that most of crew preferred to simply program the holograms with the basic knowledge of the setting or plot they were based upon. Such information on their writer or creator was unnecessary as it would get in the way or ruin the experience for the user of the holodeck program. Why does a character need to know it's author when all it needs is to know its lines one might say.
He looked around taking in his surroundings once more and this version of Tori moved forward getting his attention. "Why must you resist the love I offer you?"
"I cannot love," Data replied as a matter of fact. "I do not process the programming, or the systems required to produce emotions of any kind. I cannot accept the love you offer as I cannot feel anything. I have no need for love."
"Love is like the wind. You cannot see it but feel it all around you," the hologram spoke to him bringing her hand up to caress his face. Data could only turn his head slightly sideways like a parrot as he considered what she just said. While she was clearly programmed to offer romantic statements there was nonetheless an interesting notion to her statement. It had been his experience that emotions often were found in various and different places. The pride Worf felt winning a battle, the pleasure Captain Picard talked about reading a good book and the joy Commander Riker took in winning a round of poker. All different reactions to a range of different events. A place like sickbay could produce both much sadness and happiness according Doctor Crusher so what the hologram said was true in that respect. He was so busy considering what she said that he did not notice as she leaned in close to him and beginning kissing his neck.
Data frowned while his positronic brain allows him impressive computational capabilities, he still was at a loss at how to deal with this. He suspected that most logical option would be shut down the program. That would certainly be most likely what counsellor Troi would approve of he assumed but then again perhaps he should engage with it in the hopes of gaining more understanding as to why this program was created and by whom. Also, he had recalled a statement made by close friend Geordi who said that as far as he was concerned what you do in the holodeck is your own business, as long as it doesn't interfere with your work. Geordi had often encouraged Data to use the holodeck as a training ground of sorts for his understanding and learning of human emotions and interactions. That way there would be no misunderstandings or hurt feelings as Geordi described it.
He raised his arms to pull her wandering hands away from him. She looked both hurt and disappointed as he took a step back. "I apologise but I cannot allow this to continue," Data told her. "To continue this would take advantage of one of my friends. It would not be ethical or morally right to allow such an encounter to take place between us."
"Why deny yourself the pleasures that I can give you?" The Goddess asked him. "A life without love is no life at all! You deserve the world, and I know I can't give that to you. So, I will give you the next best thing: my world. A world of pleasure and emotion. Of lust and love. Of affection and beauty." How can you say you do not know love when you turn down the opportunity to experience it?"
Data almost quickly responded with the fact that he was not programmed to offer such an emotion but then frowned again as she did have a point. He had engaged in a range of human interactions and interests such as painting, acting in the theatre and performing music but a romantic exchange was a rare experience. Right now, he was being presented with a rare chance to learn more about human interaction. While it was a fairly fantastical setting and interaction it was nevertheless a chance to explore and experience such. If there was one thing Data had long ago decided was that being programmed and actually doing something was another matter. While there were several tasks that he do easily thanks to his programming interaction of any kind proved far more difficult for him. Simple jokes, comments or sayings where often lost on him despite the vast information he processed. But he had found that the more he learned about interaction the better he understood and engaged with it. So why not engage with this one?
He was also fairly sure that there would be little awkwardness between himself, and the real counsellor Troi as Data did not process such emotions as lust, embarrassment, shame nor envy.
Right now, no one knew where he was and what he was doing so he would not have to tell anyone in what he was involved. He had come to the understanding that some lies where necessary for the crew to maintain their daily routine. For example, in their encounter with the Paxans, a highly advanced, violent, and xenophobic race Captain Picard had ordered Data into secrecy into order to maintain their isolation to prevent the Paxans from killing the crew of the Enterprise. So, a lie as long as it did not harm others would cause no harm. Geordi spoke of the holodeck as being a place without consequences and this would be simply an experiment and a chance to gain understanding. Therefore, Data should not turn down such a chance.
Deciding to make the decision for him the hologram of Counsellor Troi spoke up again. "Cast aside your mask and let me slip into your mind," she said and with a flick of her wrist the robes she was wearing slipped onto the soft grass beneath them. Data had to admit to himself that he approved of her shape and figure. The Troi clone took slow, sensual steps toward Data, her hips swaying slightly as she walked. Data was mildly intrigued when this version of Deanna leaned in and kissed him with a kiss full of promise and desire. While he could not feel anything from it, arousal or otherwise, he found the stimulation began to rapidly create subroutines and new associations to her.
She moaned against his mouth pressing herself against him and Data felt hologram's tongue trying to find its way into his mouth. He opened his mouth allowing her access. She made out with him heavily before pulling back tugging on his bottom lip as she did. "Nothing else matters but us together in this moment," she said seductively to him. And while Data did not totally agree with that statement as his duties abroad the Enterprise mattered a great deal he did not fight as she leaned in to kiss him again but rather wrapped his hands around her.
He let his companion continue to direct them and noted what angle and pressure she preferred. As the movements began to become repetitive—well repetitive for an android—he took a chance and added his own interpretation to her ministrations. He cupped her face and tilted her slightly in a new direction. He was unsure if she approved until he heard her moan into his mouth. Then her hands were suddenly fisting into his hair and she jumping into his arms rubbing her naked body against his fully clothed one. This experiment was going well it would seem.
She moaned as they broke off again, "I love the way the light shines off of your beautiful eyes." The Goddess smiled up at Data staring at him with love in her eyes and in a state of bliss.
Data could only nod, "Thank you, yours too are… intriguing." He replied and he found himself admitting it was true. Her dark pools were full of life and emotion despite being completely black. How curious that something blank could be so expressive.
"What else do you like about me?" She said as she stood back posing slightly for his benefit.
"Your body is well portioned which suggests good genes and a good health style choice. Your make up enhances your natural beauty," Data said plainly, and the hologram swooned like he had just said poetry. She ran her hands down her naked body before lowering herself to the grass and beckoning him to do the same with her finger. Data started to then hesitated deciding it would be only right that he be as naked as her in such a situation. The Goddess's eyes lit up at the sight of his naked body. His pale skin as white as marble.
Data sat down and the Goddess began to kiss his chest. Suddenly the hologram pushed him back and continued exploring his chest with her lips and tongue. He tensed as a tongue flicked across the head of his cock. His eyes snapped open, and he looked down and saw the representation of the counsellor kneeling between his legs, she looked up at him and smiled before she gripped his shaft and pumped him. He felt the hologram engulf his already twitching cock in her, warm, wet mouth. The level of detail that holo program's creator had placed in this program was impressive.
The Goddess grinned and kissed the head, sucking it into her mouth as her tongue flicked over it. She sucked lightly at first and then started drawing on it harder as she hollowed her cheeks with suction. The Goddess began to take more of Data's length into her mouth, relaxing her throat as the tip hit the back of her throat, taking the android in all the way to the base, she moaned around his member. She flicked her tongue up and down the length of his cock as she sucked on him, relishing the taste in her mouth as she started to get carried away.
She frowned as he pulled her up away from his cock. "I am afraid I may not react as you are used to or as programmed to," Data admitted to her. "I would be better if I rather gave you pleasure." The Goddess looked confused for a moment until she grinned at the realisation of what he had just said. She rolled off him and lay on her back. After meeting her gaze and getting one last moment of consent, he began kissing her deeply. She relished the attention he was giving her breasts with his hands bringing her nipples to harden peaks with skilled fingers and after a time she could feel one of his hands move between her legs and explore her damp folds.
The hologram stroked Data's hair as the android moved down, kissing, and licking her hardened nipples, pulling on them gently with his lips. Data heard the Goddess's sigh of pleasure before he moved down further, planting soft kisses along her flat stomach. The version of Deanna Tori watched as Data dipped his tongue into her bellybutton as she smiled down at the experimenting pale man of her dreams.
Data made his way down to hologram's glistening sex pausing to run finger up and down her wet lips, causing her to emit a groan, her legs twitching slightly. "Please I need you," she moaned. "Every pore of my being is begging!" She was reward as Data planted a kiss on her fleshy folds. He kissed the Goddess's pussy several more times, getting her taste on his lips as he flicked his tongue along her sensitive flesh. The hologram bucked up slightly at the feel of Data's tongue on her pussy, wanting more contact as she moaned and gasped at his actions on her.
"You are so amazing…wonderful…beautiful… the most definitely the most precious of all precious things!" she managed to gasp out as Data continued to caress her in the most intimate way as he spread the lips apart with his fingers before moving back in again, dipping his tongue inside the Goddess.
She groaned and arched off the grass, calling out his name as she came, her juices smearing Data's lips and chin as she pulled away. The Goddess all but growled as she leaned forward grabbing him and kissing him hard seemingly intent on licking her juices off his lips and face. She moaned as she felt him push her down feeling his hardness rub against her. The hologram groaned aloud as Data's cock slid into her wet heat, her inner walls closing around his shaft. He thrust into her completely, burying all of his inches into her heated pussy as she wrapped her arms around him and widened her legs apart.
He started to fuck her slowly feeling her tight inner muscles clench his hard cock as he moved inside her. "I love being in your arms," she muttered to him as she leaned up pressing her dark and hardened nipples into his chest and kissed him softly feeling his erect penis rub against her inner walls. "I feel like I was made to fit against you." She felt full and then empty as Data thrust in and out of her relentlessly, not wanting anything different than what he was doing.
The pair pushed against each other on the grass making love to each other. The Goddess full of romantic statements in between the moans and groans while Data remained silent and focused on the task at hand kissing, licking, and sucking gently on her neck as he used some of the techniques he was programmed with.
The brunette tightened her legs around Data's waist, loving the sensations running through her body as her pussy squeezed and pulsed around his length. "I'm gonna cum," the Goddess muttered as she moved her hands down to Data's buttocks, spurring him on as he thrust into her tight pussy. Data held onto her as he rammed into her harder and faster, hearing his lover's cries of pleasure as she gripped him tighter. She came hard with a shudder, her inner muscles clamping down on him as he took note of her reaction logging into his files as he had much of the encounter.
She lay back content with the blissful smile on her face as Data studied her face. Hers was a reaction of pure emotion one that he could never hope to recreate. At least not in his current form. "I am yours forever, let yourself flow towards me and embrace your true self," the Goddess of Empathy spoke once again gathering his attention as she ran her hands up his neck and pulled him back down towards her.
Several hours later Data exited the holodeck back in his uniform and with far more files and subroutines to study and process. The experiment had been a successful one as he had been able to use a range of different techniques on the hologram who proved more than willing in the matter. Data knew that if the event of sex ever came up, he would be far more adept on the matter and looked forward to putting what he had learned to use if the situation next arise.
"Data!" He turned at the mention of his name and saw his friends Wesley Crusher and Counsellor Troi walking towards him. "Good morning!" Deanna said to him smiling to him although not as warmly as another version of her he was more familiar with.
"So, this is what an android gets up to while we are all asleep!" Wesley joked exchanging a grin with the Counsellor.
Data blinked, "I was merely conducting a social experiment in other to better myself and improve my social skills." He stated plainly.
"Well, I hope it wasn't another one of your stand-up routine or worse a poetry reading," Wesley all but groaned recalling having to sit though Data's first poem 'Ode to Spot.' Part of him was tempted to convince Data to do a social reading for the crew in order to let them suffer as he had suffered… hmmm not a bad idea Wesley considered.
"Oh, hush you," Deanna scrolling at Wesley and good naturedly swatted the young man. "I am sure that it was a very valuable lesson."
"It most certainly was Counsellor," Data agreed and seemed to almost be swelling in pride Wesley noted… or at least he would have been if he had been programmed with such an emotion. But still the Operations officer seemed pleased with himself about something. "It was a simulating simulation. One that involved me using skills that I had previously not had much opportunity to practice on, but I am pleased to inform you that the results were most… intriguing." He offered and Deanna and Wesley exchanged a look of puzzlement.
"Well, umm… I have for one look forward to see the results of this… social experiment," Deanna said trying to sound positive despite the fact she wasn't sure what Data was talking about. With an android learning to be more human but lacking any emotion it could be just about anything.
Data arched an eyebrow looking at her for a moment before saying. "Perhaps another time… Counsellor." He added before announcing to the pair. "I am afraid that I am due to start my shift very soon, if you would excuse me." Data nodded and then departed away.
Wesley looked at the departing android with puzzlement before turning to see the Counsellor staring with wide eyes at Data's retreating form. "What is it?" he asked her.
Had she been checked out by Data?! Deanna thought horrified slightly. In that moment when he had arched his eyebrow, she was sure his yellow eyes had slid down her skin, soaking in every inch of her. She wasn't oblivious to when someone looked at her in that way but to see Data of all people do it was unnerving to say the least.
Firstly, it made her subconscious of what she was wearing, and she vowed to go back to her quarters and change immediately. Secondly had she just had an android flirt with her?! His eyes had danced across her body and the line could be a pickup line in some cultures. Thirdly it made her very aware that she had sort of agreed to him showing her what he had learned. Oh god what had he been doing and what had she just signed up for?! he was Data! Data didn't flirt! He stammered, stuttered, and made a complete idiot out of himself. A cute idiot, yes, but still an idiot. Oh god did she just refer to a robot as 'cute' was she attracted to Data!?
"Counsellor!" Wesley said to her for the third time finally getting Deanna's attention.
"Huh, What?" Deanna asked distracted and then turned seeing Wesley she blushed and cleared her throat as felt a lump there. "I'm fine… I just… forgot that I have… an appointment to get to…" she muttered chewing her lip slightly as she eyed the direction that Data had disappeared to and departed fast in the opposite direction.
Fast.
Wesley looked back and forth at where both Data and now Counsellor Troi had wandered off to very confused as to what had just occurred in front of him. He scratched his head trying to make sense of both the Counsellor's near panic and Data's almost proud nature. "What was on that holodeck?" he muttered to himself taking a look at the last simulation ran and activating it. He walked into the holodeck curious to see what he would find.
