Chapter 10: Don't leave

Hyuga Hiashi is a man of words. So whatever he has ever said is always very calculated and cautious. Not that anyone can blame him. Being the clan leader of one of the most influential and powerful clans in the whole of five nations for almost all his life he had come to the conclusion that the clan is nothing but a bunch of colossal assholes with accidentally gifted eyes. He maybe a clan leader but he isn't the sole supremacy neither does he preach those eyes like people make portrait him . Clan leader is used like a stamp, approve or approve after mindless arguments. What's inside it has only access to authorities, in this case clan elders. If one day you met them you'll know the true definitions of compulsive manipulators.

They took away everything from him. Behind the face of a stoic leader, is a crippled father. He doesn't even deserved to be called father. Yet... Yet his elder daughter calls him 'otou san' with utmost love and respect everytime they crossed paths. Every day the memories of her hurt soul, tattered body and trembling legs trying to stand up only to get another strike all because she wanted to prove something to him her father haunted him. He would want to pat her head, caress her wound, say her a 'well done' and carry her back to her room and be by her side untill she sleeps. And what he did criticise her, strike her unconscious,loathe for her development, grimace at her and watch her break.

It was never that he hated her , he loves her no matter what. It was just tough love. He could never be one of those lucky father who could stand in front of their daughters and shield them from all the lecherous practices this unfair world has to offer. So Instead he wanted to make her strong enough to be able to handle those. So strong that no one will be able to look at her with disrespect and so strong that whenever he passes through the streets people would bow with respect, not because he is a clan leader but because he is a proud father of Hyuga Hinata. He wouldn't lie when he said he was envious of Hizashi to have a prodigy like Neji. Sometimes he wished what if Neji would have his son. Then again the possibility of Hinata standing and taking the attack instead made shivers run down his spine. She would have never came back alive.

He was glad that Neji Volunteering vowed to protect Hinata. At least he would have some assurance. Neji knew how he truly felt for his daughter and he too was in a same situation. Hiashi has seen the longing in his eyes for Hinata and as much as he disposes the idea if Hinata doesn't find a suitable suitor soon she would have to marry him. She calls him Neji niisan for kami's sake! And while wandering in such things one such day Neji came and informed him about the Uchiha training her and she getting a seal.

The news was unbelievable and he was skeptical this was some sort of sick joke. It was not. His fatherly instinct told him to go to Hinata and drag her back to the Hyuga compound and keep her safe and sound in his watch. He couldn't he can't. He has lost each and every fatherly rights the day he started degrading her because of nothing but her kind nature. patiently listened .There was no plausible explanation of why uchiha would want to train her except one - he wanted something in return. Which was more likely to be clan restoration. He remembered that day when bile came to throat at the distaste of his own thoughts. Plus if clan elders had a whiff of Hinata getting seals they would dine on his mind and soul. Later Neji informed that Tsunade assured once she learns to control the other chakra nature she can release the seal. Hinata didn't knew that but it was possible.

Coming back to his previous thoughts Neji creased brows proved that his thoughts were accurate. Even Neji doubted the relationship. It came out more shocking since the whole village knew of her infatuation with Naruto. Did she move on? Or was she forced? He assumed it was former, no reasons just instinct. Naruto maybe the savior of the world but that doesn't excuses him for ignoring her daughters feeling So badly. In reality Hiashi wanted her daughter to move on. Not only because she has hurting So much but also because if that continued she would never be able to start a new life, with a new life partner.

So in order to give her sometime to sort out her thoughts and to keep the elders at bay for sometime, the day he knew seal was done he left on a political trip along with Hanabi and prominent elders. He would stretch it as much as he could. He can never be the someone who could support her on the front but he definitely can be the one who'll always have her back behind the scenes.

Which shoves him back to square one. The reason why he is at the hokage office hands curled in his laps and staring at Rokudaime and godaime. He returned from that unnecessary lengthy trip just a few hours prior and he hoped he helped her somehow. But Neji's expression when he informed about the Hokage summoning him said otherwise. From the looks of both the other personalities he could guess who has on which side. Maybe he could have delayed a few more years or so.

"Hiashi sama" Kakashi greeted the man. It's been a week from the last discussion he had with Shino and Kiba and Tsunade had been prodding him incessantly to do something.

"Good afternoon Hokage sama, Tsunade sama. " Hiashi greeted coolly.

"I heard you returned from your political symposia a few hours antecedent. Gomen I had to summon you promptly. "

"That's quite alright Hokage sama. Regardless I demand to know the impetus. "

"Alright, do you have any idea what's Hinata doing right now? " Kakashi questioned. Before Hiashi could answer Tsunade beat it to it.

"Shove it up Kakashi. Look hiashi there's no point in spinning the wheel. I'll tell you. Hinata and Sasuke are said to be in love with each other. When Sakura confronted she was dragged in a life threatening position by Uchiha. When I went I saw Hinata getting a good beating from Sasuke while training. Kakashi says he saw Sasuke care for her, which is I think is down right ridiculous. Team 8 members had no idea untill a week before they knew from us. " Tsunade said the edge in her voice quite clear. She cares deeply for the girl and never is she willing to just drop her in his murderous hands without proper confrontation.

Hiashi pondered for a moment. The thing was that obvious then, eh? He was worried about it as well. Through years of experience he could see more through people than walls. Sasuke might be a dangerous personality or even a traitor the people label. But he knew better. Traitor isn't a word for him at all. He did what he was manipulated to do. You cannot blame a preteen wanting to become strong to avenge his family's death. Besides the Sharingan does take a heavy toll on the mental health of the user. He had Mangekyou. He had very well observed Fugaku in interclan meetings, sometimes he would have outbursts abruptly activating his sharingan. In simple words he is psycho within possession you don't want to mess with.

Still he had his hands dirtied with various mutilation and vandalism. The terrorism and He doesn't trust him with his daughter. No father would. However he would want to see with his own eyes before he says anything. As said before he was a man of his words.

"Hiashi sama" Kakashi spoke. He was wary of the situation and wanted to keep it at low. That won't last though.

"I don't know what to say. "He confessed honestly. He really didn't know what to say. Sasuke was dangerous, he could kill, and at a glance any father with an ounce of sanity left would deny him immediately. But hiashi has lost the right to be called father so long back. He has got no claims to March into their relationship or whatever they have ans drag Hinata out cause he didn't trust him. No father does.

Even though it doesn't evolve around him being the father or not in political views there are so many drawbacks to these, as a clan leader if he supports it he is grounded. Not to mention hyuga uchiha kids would bring catastrophic powers in this planet. There was no way to say that Uchiha was a polite person to ask her hand, he doubted it'll go that far. Which gives him another reason why he should intervene, he can break Hinata's heart. This time Hinata won't make it.

He knows her daughter that much that he can claim her love isn't something you can gain by joking around. When she fell for Naruto she gave her all this time if she's in that grave love again she'll do anything to save it. It's good, being devoted in a relationship is good. Just tossing your life away isn't.

He may actually go and have a 'talk' with them undetected. If he plans on taking steps against, or with the situation to know what's happening in the core is important. What people wouldn't matter.

"Are you mad? You don't know what to say? Your daughter might be held captive as well! How can you be so composed about it? That's what you wanted? To kill her? " Tsunade yelled at him. That was a way to put it. Held captive eh? He was positive his daughter won't do Any such cowardly things still that's still a possibility.

"Gomen nasai. " He rose from his seat. "All this is too much to deal with and I don't want to take any rash decisions concerning my daughter. So please Rokudaime sama, godaime sama I humbly request you to give me some time. With that I expect this remains within us. " He bowed not too low not too high took a step back gave a impassive look to Kakashi and left. Of how much he knew of that man he wanted Kakashi to hold onto Tsunade. She was impulsive and sometimes her anger overpowered her decision making. It was his daughter they were talking about he certainly isn't going to tolerate any rash decisions.

Routing his way back to the compound he greeted Neji on his office room. No one in the Hyugas knew about the fiasco and he was planning to keep it that way. Neji was expecting answers but he waved him off. His concerns were plausible but there's so much he can do to cater them.

Midnight came around. Around the curfew Hinata came around and greeted him. He greeted back and dismissed her because he knew it was a clone. Very well she was staying at the Uchiha compound today. This made him uncertain how far there relationship has taken them? Losing virginity before chastity before was not uncommon now a days, especially when you are a shinobi and your life itself is short pathed. But Hinata was royalty could she go that far for him? Was she that reliable on him? A criminal? He knew the Hyuga guards were patrolling so he left a clone in his bedroom as well and padded through the compound. His chakra was perfectly suppressed and his walk was faultless.

25 DAYS OF KNOWING SASUKE UCHIHA:

Sasuke gently removed some strands of Hinata's hair from her face. She was sleeping soundly in his arms tired and devoid of all the phenomenon nature has to occur. She trained too hard today, so Sasuke insisted her to stay at his place. She had to. Just for precautions she sent a clone to that compound. It's been a week since anyone came to pry on them. He was glad, why can't people be like that always? He was confident about her but hinata, she would always be a self conscious victim. He knew she would never say that aloud but all this prodding was bothering her. Bothering it was okay, human brain is designed in that way to concern each and every thought. He could deal with that but no with her having second thoughts on what they have. What he had built.

He felt it. That chakra, Hyuga chakra. It was perfectly suppressed but all the seals around his compound did a wonderful job to detect it. He knew this one was not Neji. This was one was stronger, essenced and absolutely impeccable. Only one had that calibre, Hyuga Hiashi.

He shifted, this was not something he can deal by ignoring or threatening. Hiashi oozed with power and superiority. He remembered his father saying how he respected Hiashi as a fellow clan leader. That man was powerful no doubt but he had a way through words as well. That was a dangerous skill.

He unwrapped his arms around her and surprisingly Hinata caught them. He peered into her half lidded eyes. She caught it as well. What did he expect any ways? Hinata was a sensory type, now the nature chakra and she had been with his chakra for all her life. She sat up, straightened herself, grabbed a yukata and went to the bathroom. He sighed this woman was getting troublesome as each day passed. He was shirtless so he grabbed a shirt and descended downstairs. Hinata followed him just as immediately. He opened the door when Hiashi reached his porch. Hinata was however seated at the couch.

Hiashi was expecting Sasuke but Hinata seating there on the couch justified how certain their relationship was. She was nervous he could tell. He may not play a huge role in here but he knew she respected him enough to take his opinions very seriously. This was an advantage at the same time an equally effective disadvantage. Out of reflex Hinata bowed him.

"G-gomen Otousan I.. I didn't meant to sent the clone-"

"Hinata." He looked at his daughter who paused her apologia. " Let's not talk about that, you and I both know there are things bothersome than that. "

"Hai otousan. "

"Hinata, I may Not have been the best father but this once can i expect you to be honest and veracious about the certain topics I want to talk about? " He questioned assertive. Hinata bit her lip and nodded at him. She really didn't had a choice here. Hiashi was not the best father, heck he was nothing like a father. However that would never change the fact that she has always wanted to be strong and respectable like him.

"Now then tell me Hinata how certain are you about this relationship? " He pondered maintaining an absolute eye contact with her. Sasuke grit his teeth, he could tell even his frank questions were manipulative. Hinata honoured him and reluctantly she would listen anything he said. Just as she had been doing for years. That frustrated him, knowing that someone had bigger influence on her than him.

"Hai. Otou San. I am. " She answered honestly. She didn't understand were this conversation was going but it was her father, he had been managing an assorted clan for years she knew he wouldn't just walk in to ask the very obvious. She was dreading this day, otousan had always that effect on her decision. She knew she loved Sasuke, Sasuke wasn't very obvious with it but of otousan says she should think again she will. She knows herself, though she doesn't want to she will.

"Tell me Uchiha Sasuke what do you plan to do?" He tilted His head towards him. "I know every man has a plan and a back up as well. By this time I know you could have considered how things can turn against you in the village. People are slowly getting to know this fact and many are not accepting it. They will be turning their backs on you and pestering Hinata continuously, how long will you protect her? Human mind is designed in such a way to have alternatives and second thoughts, As her father I would want to know what would do then? "

Sasuke fisted his palms. Exactly the skill of words he was talking about. He had no such thing, he knew violence only violence, words were not his forte but glancing at Hinata's wrecked posture and ardent lip bites he could tell she was having second thoughts. On his answers she will burst out. No he won't let that happen, after all time, after all he had been through.

"I would kill everyone who tried to do so!" He hissed. Hinata's eye widened. Great now she was having second thoughts.

Hiashi mystically laughed. "Very well. Despite I know that is not what you're planning. I heard stealth is your métier. As much as you want to level this village you would not do that. To be frank I am impressed by your demeanor, it's a Palpable thing you wouldn't spill your manoeuvre to your foe, if that's what you consider me to be. " He sighed while Sasuke was digging his nails in is palms.

"However." Hiashi stated again gaining an undivided attention of a puzzled Hinata. " By any means if it involves my daughter then I would suggest you do tell her. Hinata's always been an open book,Judging her reactions she hadn't had the slightest idea about it. I'm sure if you say you're in love you would first like to clarify your agendas with the one you love isn't it? " He pondered. Hinata froze, otousan was right. Sasuke never talked to her. Hell she wasn't even sure if he loved her or was using her. He oddly imposed himself on her.

"That's none of your business! " A dangerous snarl ripped his throat. "What is on my mind has nothing to do with you! "

"Of course not. It has to do with Hinata. I was simply making sure she knew of it. Now Hinata wouldn't like to spend the rest of her life with someone who has killed her beloved friends and family out of rage of having variegated thoughts? I'm sure I have raised her better than that. " He looked at hinata.

She was at the verge of a breakdown. Otou san's words were slicing her mind and heart into frail pieces of ribbon. Still deep down she knew in a way he was right. In her mind she could just imagine blood spilling corpses of her beloved friends and family all because sasuke went on a murderous rampage. All because it was all her. Her fault. She was handling everything very well. So she assumed everything would go well and she wouldn't have to voice her thoughts , she was wrong. It could all go wrong in an instance, he wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone just the way he wasn't to kill Sakura. She cannot handle those. She can't.

Hinata was hyperventilating. Anyone could say she was in a borderline panic attack. Suddenly she felt sharp stabs of pains coursing through her chakra system. Her deranged breathing was evening out. Still her mind was not. Someone was rubbing her back and she could hear faint voices of 'breathe hinata breathe'. She did that. But the horrible visuals of a levelled village and dead friends was keeping her ina traumatic state. She was dizzy, so light headed. At last she fainted.

When Hinata woke up she found herself cocooned in Sasuke's arms. She squirmed. This was the man she was trying to avoid. She knew -whatever they had- was not healthy, it was toxic, it was obsessive. Love was different. He never said he loves her. He was imposing and captivating. A little hope in the pit of her stomach said 'that's his way of showing love'.

"Hinata." Sasuke caressed her face. Yesterday after she passed out he was furious. He wanted to hit Hiashi, how dare he come and wreck his tranquility like this! Still he held himself and carried her back to their room before he could say anything. He faintly recalls he sighed and left the place almost immediately.

"Are you scared of me? " He asked dangerously close. Her breathe hitched. Her mouth went dry. "Don't make me repeat. "

She turned away from the intense mismatched gaze. "Don't stray your eyes. "He decreed again.

" I-i... " She wanted to say, she couldn't. She had a lot going on in her mind. So many questions so many unheard insecurities so many unanswered questions.

"If you want to know what's on my mind regarding us then you have to promise me something. " He Tightened his hold on her waist putting her in a deadlock.

"I-i.. W-what? "

"Promise me that you'll submit yourself to me, wholly, solely. You will stay with me forever In my arms. You won't stray from my eyes and you won't dare to ever think of leaving me. " He brushed his lips over hers. He knew he had that effect on her. Right now he cannot afford to have negotiations.

Hinata blinked. What was that excuse me? Despite all this tattered bonds they were going through he wants something like that? He is simply looting away her liberty in the cost of his intention. Hell she didn't even knew what those were.

"I need some time. " She accepted. There were a lot of things going on her mind.

"When you tell me your answer I'll tell you mine. " He nipped on her neck.

"If I say no will you leave me? " A breathy shaky voice questioned. Sasuke looked her face again. She was on verge of crying. What was wrong with her?

"What do you mean? "He raised his brows.

"Y-you never said you love me! It's either you're hurting me bad or seducing me. There's no in between. You don't share things with me and don't show any interest if I raise some topics. All this... All this means that when you'll get bored will you leave me? How can I live with loving someone when he doesn't even seems to be interested! " She broke into cries. She bit her lips pinched herself anything to stop her from crying. All this time she had managed to hold onto her emotions why now then? It was the truth she was getting crippled inside.

"Is that what you're worried about? " He pondered. He had no idea how to comfort a crying woman. But this was unbelievable.

"What do y-you mean by is this? You don't show any affections, no intentions to share your life with me! You are so imposing you k-know everything about me. I w-want to know you too but you never say anything! Do you think I'm annoying? Do you hate me that much? I know that you don't love me-" Her words her crushed somewhere between the heated kiss Sasuke was giving. He was brutally harassing her lips. How the hell those ridiculous thoughts came to her was beyond him.

"I do love you. Why would you question it is beyond me. And who the hell told you I would leave you? I would never. For thinking that you're the biggest idiot to exist ,even beyond Naruto. Yuck that name! What do you mean by hurting or seducing you. When you train a very obvious thing is you get hurt and what seducing? Kissing is how you show affection. Why would I need to seduce you? You're mine you'll always be. When you get used to it we'll make love what's the matter in that. " He tightened his hold and stared at her in utter disbelief. That woman said she loves him, she could see through walls, then why the most evident and prominent thing invisible to her?

"Y-you do? " She asked choking in between her subsiding sobs.

"Well duh! " He suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. Toxic relationship she can say he loves her she can't! Great just fucking great.

"But you never said that earlier. You hate it when I touch you. You hate it when I ask about you, yourself. How is that love? " She bit her wet and swollen lips.

"I don't hate anything about you. Ever heard of people hating things they are obsessive about? No ? Good. Cause they can't. Everytime we get closer than few feets you freeze on your legs, and why would you want to know about my dark past? "

"I don't freeze. You're the one who gives those looks! " Now she was embarrassed. She changes her moods like clothes kami.

"What looks? " He asked bewildered.

"The one that says 'I'll fuck your brains out! " She yelled at him then quickly slapped her palms on her lips.

"The what? I have such looks as well? I mean I know I'm hot and irresistible but excuse me what? " Nuts kami nuts. The woman was fucking nuts.

"D-don't c-change the t-topic! " She hissed.

"Look Hinata I do love you. I get it I'm not the most sociable person but I'm a psychopath. For you I'm trying to change be someone more reliable. It doesn't work out well when all your friends and family does is coax you right out of my arms. I cannot give you the glee love that probably Naruto would have given, I can't. For you I'm possesive to the highest degree and I ain't afraid to admit it. " He brushed their noses together and kissed her forehead.

"I don't want Naruto. Only you. " She shyly admitted.

"Who? " He sheepishly asked. Teasing her was so fun specifically when dealing with his own insecurities.

"Sasuke." She quietly whispered.

"Who? "

"SASUKE! ONLY SASUKE UCHIHA! " She raised her voice along with fifty shades of red. And then immediately after squirmed back into his arms.

"The why are you so insecure about me? Us? "

"Because.. Because I feel incompetent! I know nothing about you. You never let me. Instead you know everything about me. Am I not trustworthy ? "

"You are. You plan on becoming an ANBU and have your dreams here. I have nothing here. You know if time comes to choose between me and the village , everything else at this point you'll say the latter. Won't you? "

"Why would ask such a question? "

"If I be honest with you today you won't ever talk to me. "

Hinata gasped. "I would never do that. "

"Really? Would you promise to give me your everything? Your presence and constance even after I tell you the truth?" This made Hinata bit back her words. The decision between him and everything else was scary and peculiar. She was curious but not at his rate. Now that she thinks about it for the past months she had isolated herself from everyone. She doesn't feel that bad the only nag she had was Sasuke shutting her.

"I need some time Sasuke. "

"See? You say you love me but when I ask you such questions you're having second thoughts. What I feel for you isn't like that. What I feel for you is so intense one day it could melt us. If I were the one given option it could have been you. Actually besides you I don't have a lot so forever, it would you or you. " Hinata felt her heart drop a few beats as Sasuke kissed her gently. He has been the loyal one, the devoted one. She was the one in pool of insecurities hurting him. She felt guilty.

"Sasuke the one you asked earlier, if I choose the village would you.. Would you still stay with me? " She quivered as the question left her lips. Today she was in such a mood to play with her luck.

The warmth was gone. Sasuke's arms were no more around her waist providing her support, one of them pinned her arms and one was slowly gliding down her face. His limbs were tangled with hers. The surge of emotions was so high his mangekyou was swirling without his consent.

"Are you planning to leave me hime? " His smooth malicious voice made shivers run down her spine.

"No.. I-I.. "

"You are my everything. In return I would want the same from you. If you don't I will feel betrayed. I don't take betrayal very easily. I apologize. I wouldn't be able to love you the way you want anymore. We would cross paths but you won't remember me ."

"Sasuke! " Her eyes widened in horror. Tears threatening to spill any moment. "Don't say such things. I love you I really do. You're my one dream I don't ever want to give up on. "

At her antics Sasuke chuckled. "I know. What I am asking you is difficult, instead I'm willing to give you my utmost time and patience. In the end I cannot hang around being your second choice. So for what life I'd have I'll have to go on a different path making sure you're not guilty. "

"Don't Sasuke don't you dare do that. A different path? I'd follow you to the moon and never back. "

"Then you have to leave the village, Everything. "

"Without you nothing would feel right anyways, the sun won't wake me up and the demons won't scare me."

"So would you choose me? "

"Yes." She sighed and smiled. Reaching up she kissed him and placed her forehead against his. "Yes but would you be kind enough to wait for me? "

"Always." His hands loosened around her arms and brought her closer to him. He had been dreading to hear those words. "So do you want to know what's on my mind? " He asked skeptical.

"Don't bother. " She snuggled closer to him. She went through such emotional roller coaster today. From being a blind lovestruck insecure woman to loving the feel of his presence, to making a decision of leaving the village, everything behind just to be with him. Some would say she was being insane but if it means to be able by his side she was perfectly fine with it. She won't lie there are still a lot of insecurities lingering here and there but today proved that it was start to their relationship. Through time and tide those will go away as well.

"Hn? Few minutes prior you were wrecking sobs because of that. "He pulled back to have a look at her face. She frowned and pulled him closer.

"Stay. Just stay. We can talk about it later. "

"You're... You're quite interesting. " He pondered.

"I can live with that. "
