I got out of the "rental" car I got from the city and made my way to large house in the clearing of the woodlands.
"Al!" I grinned seeing Mindy run down her porch. She tackled me in hug which I returned with a chuckle.
"It's good to see you too." I said looking at my blonde haired, hazel eyed best friend.
"Come on in. I want to show you some stuff and I hope you're up for a few tests." Mindy said as she grabbed my wrist and started to pull me to her house.
"Alright, Mountain Ash is parted right? I really don't feel like running into an invisible wall." I asked.
"Yes, it's parted. Relax." We got into her house and it was still the same way how I last saw it.
"Wow, it's been three years and it still looks the same." I said whistling.
"Yeah, it's just been really big ever since dad died." Mindy said softly.
I gave her a one arm hug for comfort, "Hey, you should be proud of your old man. He gave that cancer one hell of a fight. Seven years he lived with it and he never let it change him." Mindy smiled and nodded her head.
"There were some days that he would act so carefree, that I would forget that he was sick. I think that's what my dad was shooting for." I nodded in agreement.
"Now, what are these tests you wanted me to do?"
Mindy's depressed look turned into one of joy, "Last time I saw you, you were just a Beta, but now you're a True Alpha. I want to see how high your stats went up."
After one hour of running on the treadmill, lifting weights, and taking blood tests. Mindy got her results.
"Holy crap." Mindy muttered, staring wide eyed at her computer.
"What?" I asked as I walked up to her, munching on a turkey sandwich.
"Your stats have doubled. Look at this." I looked at the two bar graphs that were side by side. One was labeled "Beta" and the other "Alpha". She was right, the Alpha side's bars were a lot higher than the Beta's.
"You ran faster on the treadmill, you didn't get tired as quickly, you lifted a two ton barbell, and from your bloodwork your white blood cells are extremely active. This is how different an Alpha is from a Beta." Mindy said in astonishment.
"Would you believe me if I said I never noticed?" Mindy looked at me with her jaw slack.
"How?! I'm sure you could tell you got physically stronger!" Mindy reasoned.
I shrugged my shoulders, "I never bothered to check. I've had these powers for eleven years now. I'm kinda use to it."
Mindy let out a frustrated sigh, "I give up. Still your speed, stamina, strength, and healing rate have all gone off the charts. This just proves how strong an Alpha Werewolf really is."
My phone then went off, interrupting us. I let out a groan knowing who it was. I really didn't feel like leaving yet. I picked up my phone from the counter and sure enough the ID read "Klaus".
"Is it one of your friends?" Mindy asked.
I let out a sigh, "Yeah and lately I've been doing what he tells me to do." Mindy rose both eyebrows in surprise.
"Since when does an Alpha take orders? Don't let that guy control you. He can't run your life, unless he's your boyfriend. Then he has a say." Mindy suggested.
I rolled my eyes, "He's not." But Mindy had a point. Why was I taking orders from Klaus? I looked back at my phone which was still ringing. He might think I'm running, but he should know better that I'm not. I then made the decision and hit ignore on my phone.
"Mind, you might want connect the Mountain Ash again." Mindy looked at me confused.
"Just trust me, and I'll tell you what's really been going on."
"I cannot believe you are traveling with Klaus. The baddest of the bad." Mindy said in shock.
She was taking it better than I thought. I thought she'd be yelling and screaming at me but no, just talking. But since the first call, Klaus kept calling me but I just let it go to voicemail. By now, my phone had five voicemails and most likely four out of five of them were all angry ones.
"Aren't you going to get it for not answering?" Mindy asked warily.
I let out a sigh, "I don't know why I started taking orders from him. I mean I did for the first few weeks so he wouldn't kill me or do something to Stefan. But after those weeks, I became like a trained dog who didn't want to disappoint it's master. It became second nature and you finally snapped me out of it. I'm an Alpha, and Alpha's don't take orders."
"You know he hasn't called in the past twenty minutes. Something tells me he's trying to find you as we speak. He might think you've left town." Mindy stated.
I shook my head, "I didn't turn off my phone. If I did, that would've sent off red flags in his head. I didn't though, so that means he knows I'm not trying to run or hide. I'm just disobeying his orders and he doesn't like it."
Mindy nodded, "I'm curious to what he said though." She said with wide grin.
I rolled my eyes and started to play the voice mails. I played the first one.
"Allye, Rebekah's finally up. It's time to head back to Gloria's bar, love." That was all the first one said.
Mindy had a glint in her eyes, "Oh my god, that accent! How are you not freaking out everytime he talks?!" I chuckled at that.
"Well unlike you, I'm not that big of a sucker for British accents." I said shaking my head.
I then played the second one.
"Allye, pick up the phone when I call. I gave you strict orders at the warehouse to come back when I called you." I rolled my eyes at the orders part.
"Dang, the dude sounds controlling." Mindy said with wide eyes.
"You have no idea." I muttered and played the third one.
"I'm starting to get angry, Allye. Pick up your phone, or else." Well he definitely sounded angry.
"There's the threat. I thought that would've been in call number two." I muttered as I played the fourth one.
"If you wanted to get me angry, then mission accomplished. I will not be ignored, Allye. Answer your phone next time, or I will make sure you will regret it."
I let out a sigh and shook my head and played the last one.
"Words cannot describe how mad I am right now. Not just at you but at Stefan as well." My eyebrows furrowed at that. What did he mean?
"I found out that a certain doppelganger is alive and that you and Stefan have known all along." My breath hitched in my throat. No! How did he find out?!
"I'm disappointed in you, Allye. I thought we were friends, but it seems I was wrong. Don't worry about me finding you, yet. I have more pressing matters to deal with back in Mystic Falls." My eyes were wide and for the first time in years, I felt fear. Klaus knew Elena was alive and now he's going back to Mystic Falls.
"Did you need a flight back to Mystic Falls?" Mindy asked concerned.
I nodded my head, "You still friends with a few pilots?" Mindy just shot me a wink.
Allye is finally taking a stand against Klaus and defying orders much to his displeasure. I'll post a couple more chapters before getting off for the night.
