"So we get to the scene and the wife is on the phone with her husband, freaking out. She is calling him a new pet name or nickname every time. It was weird," Nick said to Greg and Catherine He had just gotten back from a B&E scene and had handed off the bags of evidence to the lab rats to start their testing.

"What is so weird about spouses giving each other nicknames? Do your parents call each other by their formal name?" Catherine questioned to her coworker. She didn't have the best marriage to Eddie but they did have nicknames for each other when it was good. Something they passed down to Lindsey as well.

"Well, no. But, they also didn't use every nickname in the book", he replied.

"I think it is the sign of a happy marriage. You are comfortable with the other person to give them a new name. Something that only you can call them," Greg, the ever loving optimist shared his opinion.

At that moment, Sara walked into the break room and went straight for the coffee maker. After being away for so long and not being accustomed to graveyard shift, caffeine was a necessary thing to keep her awake.

"Sara, do you and Grissom have nicknames for each other?" Nick asked of her. They still didn't know a lot about the marriage or relationship of Sara and Gil, but maybe she would give them a little teaser. It was nice to have her back in Vegas. After she left, Grissom had been different. Sullen, withdrawn. She had been in a similar state before she left, but didn't let on. All Grissom said was that she left to go see her mom. Now that she was back, it was like she never left. She was happy. The piece of gold wrapped around her finger was one of the big reasons why. He went after her and they were happy. They didn't know much after their relationship was outed, only that they had been together for almost 2 years and for the most part, their lives were intertwined. Living together, having a pet together, and loving each other.

"I'm Sara and he is Gil," she said as she poured the freshly brewed coffee into her cup.

"No, I mean nothing formal."

"Well, technically Gil is his nickname."

"Sara, come on. You have known him how long and been together how long and you only call him Gil?" Greg questioned her.

"I call him Gilbert sometimes. His mom is the only person that does." She replied quickly. "He usually gets the 'Gilbert' when I am teasing him."

They were surprised she had divulged as much information as she had.

"Yeah, I don't think I have ever called him Gilbert and I have known him the longest," Catherine stated with a smile directed at Sara.

"He told me only family really called him 'Gilbert' and that ended when he was a teenager. He is not the biggest fan of his full name," Sara said.

Not fully satisfied with her answer, Nick questioned her "That's it? Gil and Sara?"

"I mean, he calls me 'honey'. He called me that before we were together even."

That surprised Greg. He really couldn't picture his former boss calling anyone 'honey', let alone Sara before they had even begun dating. It was an understatement that they didn't know a lot about their relationship. Greg and everyone else did know one thing: they were a happy couple.

"He also calls me 'Mrs. Grissom' even though I didn't take his name" Sara said with a smile. Catherine could feel something was being set up.

As Nick tallied on his fingers, he recited the names Grissom called Sara "Sara, honey, and Mrs. Grissom. That is it? See this is my point, you don't have to call your spouse every pet name that exists"

Knowing full well, she had given her friends more information on her marriage than she normally would, she decided to have a little fun. A smirk appeared on her face. Catherine had noticed it and knew something was about to happen.

In the same way Nick tallied pet names for Sara, Greg did the same for Grissom "Gil and Gilbert. That is it? I have heard you call him Grissom and Griss."

"Things change in a marriage, Greg," Catherine stated.

As she got up to throw her coffee cup away, a smile was forming on Sara's face. She threw the cup away and walked to the door of the break room.

"There is one other name I do call him."

Nick and Greg had their interests piqued. Catherine knew Sara had them and waited to see what the outcome would be for the two men in the room.

"I do call him Dr. Grissom, but that is only used in the bedroom." Sara said, with mirth in her voice. She knew that is not something they wanted to know. The sex life of their former boss and friend.

And there it was, Catherine couldn't help the chuckle that escaped. Sara had definitely got them. She shook her head in amusement that Sara played them and they didn't even notice.

"That is not something I wanted to know, ever" the tone of Greg's reply was one of embarrassment.

Nick closed his eyes and shook his head. When he opened them again, Sara was no longer in the breakroom.

"You know you both asked for that. They are a normal couple, just like everyone else," replied Catherine.

Greg and Nick let out a sigh.

"The things you don't want to know about your friends: What they call each other in the bedroom."
