I let out a yawn as I walked into the kitchen. I didn't get home until two in the morning. Never again will I go to a bon fire without a car.
I started to make myself some coffee before I headed back upstairs to get dressed. I walked into my room and froze. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around me. I turned back to my bed to look at the picture of Laura and I when we were younger that was on my bed. It was standing up and facing where you walked in the door.
"Damon if this is you, it's not funny." I called out but I got no response.
I shook my head and walked over to the bed. I grabbed the picture frame and placed it on my nightstand face down. I went over to my dresser and pulled out a change of clothes and went inside the bathroom.
After a fifteen minute shower, I walked out of my bathroom with my clothes on a towel wrapped around my head. I stopped seeing the picture frame back up. What the hell was going on?!
I grabbed my phone and immediately called Bonnie. After a few rings she answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey, there are some strange things going on at my place right now."
"What strange things?"
"Like my dead sister's picture frame appearing on my bed. And when I put it down somewhere, fifteen minutes later it's back standing up."
I heard Bonnie sigh, "You're not the only one. Damon says he thinks Mason Lockwood is haunting him, and my grimoire just opened on it's own. I'm performing a spell right now. We can see what's going on after I cast it."
"Alright, and if I could tell Mason one thing, it'd be haunt Damon better." I heard Bonnie chuckle.
"I'll figure this out. Just try to sit tight, Allye."
"No promises." I retorted and hung up.
I took one last look at the frame before going back downstairs. I took the towel out of my hair and hung it on the couch as I walked to the kitchen. I ran a hand through my damp hair to comb through it while I grabbed a coffee mug.
I poured the coffee into my mug and that's when I felt a presence behind me.
"Whoever is standing behind me, don't think I can't sense you." I informed.
"Allye." My eyes widen hearing that voice. That voice belong to…
I turned around quickly and my jaw dropped as my breath hitched in my throat.
Standing in front of me was none other than my dead sister.
"Laura…"I muttered and I felt tears well up in my eyes.
Laura smiled softly, "Hey baby sis." I immediately ran for her and hugged her.
I felt her arms wrap around me and she rubbed my back soothingly like she use to do when we were younger. I let out a sniffle as tears flowed down my cheeks.
"Allye, please don't cry. You know how much I hate it when I see my baby sister cry." Laura whispered as she squeezed me tighter.
"How is this possible? Peter killed you." I asked but I didn't break our embrace.
"Your Witch friend, Bonnie, left the door to the Other Side wide open and allowed ghosts through. She's using a spell that let's us be seen and interact with the living. I don't know how long this is going to last, but I'm going to use this time to spend it with you." Laura said and pulled away to look at me.
I nodded my head and Laura smiled softly and wiped away the tears on my cheeks.
"Come on, let's sit on the couch. There is a lot we have to talk about." She grabbed my hand and led me to the couch.
"Now, you've gotten a lot of drama after moving into this town. First Werewolf business, then Damon problems, and finally Klaus problems. You always seem to be right smack dab in the middle of all the drama." Laura said as she tucked some of my hair behind my ear.
I let out a dry chuckle, "Yeah, I either seem to attract it or make it." I said jokingly.
Laura smiled before turning serious, "You called out to me Allye. You're really lost, torn, and hurt right now. I can understand why. You have these feelings that came out of thin air that are also extremely strong. Allye I know you thought you found your mate in Damon, but Mason and Jules were right. It's impossible for a Werewolf to find a mate in a Vampire. You just mistook those feelings for something else, and to be honest, Derek is not the best when it comes to feelings." I let out a chuckle, she was right about that.
"But Werewolves can find their mate with humans and other Werewolves...even ones that are only half Werewolf." I looked at Laura confused.
I shook my head, "No...there's no way that Klaus is my mate."
"Honey, your feelings for him came out of nowhere. That only happens to wolves who find their mates and it is an instant connection. The night Klaus became a Hybrid, he went straight to you. After his wolf side was unlocked, he could smell it. He could smell your scent and it attracted him right to you. Only Werewolf mates are attracted to those type of strong scents." I leaned against the couch out of shock.
"And unknowing to you, you've done the same. There was a time during the summer where you and Stefan got separated from Klaus. You were the one that pinpointed his scent and found him. The only catch was that he was fifteen miles away. Normal dogs can't do that not even a Werewolf can do that, but Werewolf mates can always smell each other's scents no matter what." I never thought of it that way before.
"I just...I don't know what to do Laura. Klaus is the bad guy."
Laura sighed, "All supernatural creatures are the bad guys. Damon was one too and your friends still think he is yet you fell for him too. Yes Klaus has killed people and hurt your friends but everyone has a reason as to why they do things like this. He's a Hybrid that's been around for over a thousands years, he's probably lonely. I know I would be if I was alive for that long."
"But I noticed something when I watched over you. Whenever you weren't looking, he stole glances of you. Whenever you would laugh, he would whenever you would hurt, he would try to take away that pain. I can see it, he loves you Allye and he'd do anything for you. Didn't you notice how when you attacked him the other night, he didn't hit you once? That's what love does Allye, it changes people."
"Then what about my friends? They wouldn't exactly be happy." I retorted.
Laura rolled her eyes, "If your friends start to hate you because of your feelings for Klaus, then they were never your friends in the first place. Real friends will accept that you love him and will leave him alone for you."
I blushed, "I didn't say I loved him." Laura grinned and pointed at my face.
"That blush says otherwise. You know, I always liked your taste in men. Always the dark handsome type. Something about them always attracted you." Laura informed.
I chuckled, "Thanks. Derek is the exact opposite." Laura let out a laugh that rang through the house.
"Ah, he's just being an over protective brother. Now I think you should do something you should have done last night." I rose an eyebrow at that.
"What's that?"
"Call him." My eyes widen.
"Call Klaus, why?" I asked confused.
"Because, you miss him. You miss hearing his voice, and don't try telling me that you don't. I can still feel emotions just as well when I was alive. Now, call him." Laura said and handed my phone to me.
"When did you get my phone?" I asked and put my hand on my pocket but of course it wasn't there.
"You left it in your room. Now either you call him or I'll call himself myself." I let out a sigh and grabbed my phone.
I swallowed as I scrolled down my contacts and tapped on Klaus' name. I then tapped the call button and pressed my phone to my ear. Laura had this big grin the entire time.
After a few rings, he picked up.
"Allye, sweetheart. What do I owe the pleasure of having you call me?"
I saw Laura grinning and started making kissy faces. I slapped her arm before answering.
"I need to have a reason?" I asked jokingly.
"Of course not, love. Feel free to call me whenever you want."
Laura nudged me and gave me a look.
I took a deep breath, "Klaus, I just wanted to apologize about what happened in Chicago."
I heard silence on the other end until, "Can you tell me why you ignored me?" I could hear the hurt and annoyance in his voice again.
"I'm an Alpha, Klaus. I don't take orders. I'm the one that gives them. So when you would give me orders, my Alpha side wouldn't listen. I didn't mean to hurt you." I said the last part softly.
"What about lying to me? Did you mean to do that?" Now he was getting angry.
"I wasn't there that night, and I had no idea what they were planning. Elijah had to tell me and he said it was his original plan to bring the doppelganger back with a spell and you could still break the curse. You broke it, and now you found out that Elena needed to be alive anyways. I'm sorry for hurting you and I'm sorry for lying." I bit my lip when he didn't respond right away.
"I forgive you, and if we're apologizing...Then I'm sorry for everything I've done to you. I put you through a lot over the summer."
"Apology accepted...and Klaus."
"Yes, love?"
I looked at Laura and she nodded, "I miss you." After a few seconds he replied.
"I miss you too little wolf, but you know what I'm running from. It's safer for you to stay in Mystic Falls than it is being with me right now."
"Yeah, I understand."
"Until we meet again, little wolf. Stay safe."
"You too." With that we both hung up and Laura let out a girlish squeal I've never heard her use before.
"What?" I asked confused.
Laura's grin grew and she suddenly hugged me. She pulled back with the grin still on her face, "You are SO in love with him." I rolled my eyes but with my smile on my face.
Laura pulled me back into a hug. I closed my eyes and took in her scent. I felt her start to rock me and I let out a chuckle.
"You're acting like mom again." I muttered.
"I can't help it. She could always soothe us when she did this. We all loved it when she did it. Whenever we were sad, scared, or even angry she just had to hug us and we'd feel better. She said it was a mother's touch." Laura said softly.
"I miss you, Laura. There's not a day that goes by when I wish you were still alive." I felt Laura squeeze me tighter before pulling back.
"Come on, let's go out for a walk." I nodded and followed her.
No One's P.O.V
Klaus let out a breath as he got off the phone. He never thought she would call or text, but she did both. He couldn't help but smile, the little wolf no...His little wolf missed him and wanted to see him.
He unlocked his phone and went into images. He couldn't go back to her, not at this moment. Not until he had his Hybrid army and could take down Mikael.
Klaus stared at the image on his phone. It was a picture that was taken the night he had taken Allye out for dinner.
Flashback
"Come on, love. You should try and get to know me." Klaus said with a smile as he stared at Allye across the table.
"Klaus, I've been traveling with you and Stefan all summer. Can't we talk about something else?" Allye asked as she took a sip of her ice tea.
"Fine then, tell me about you. What's your favorite color, your dreams, anything?" Klaus asked.
Allye let out a sigh, "Fine, but you'll have to answer the same questions." Allye warned.
Klaus put his hands up in defense, "Of course, love."
"My favorite color is blue and my dream when I was little was to sing in a band." Klaus' brows went up in surprise.
"You sing?"
Allye nodded, "Yeah, well I use to. Music was always my talent. My favorite thing to do was to play my grandfather's old piano and sing the lyrics along with the songs." Klaus couldn't help but smile.
"I would love to hear you sing someday. Now I believe it's my turn. As for me, green is my favorite color and my dream is to make a masterpiece." Now it was Allye's turn to be shocked.
"You're an artist? Did not see that coming." Allye said truthfully.
Klaus smiled, "I could say the same about you."
Allye then got a sly smile on her face and leaned on the table, "Tell you what. You show me some of your drawings and I'll sing a song." Klaus nodded and smiled before taking out his wallet.
"What are you doing?" Allye asked confused.
"Well we've eaten, so I think it's about time we get out of here." Allye's eyes widen seeing Klaus put down a hundred dollar bill on the table.
"Damn, I guess being over a thousand years old will make you rich." Allye muttered. Klaus stood up from the booth and held out his hand to her.
"You said you wanted to see my drawings, right? Then I'll show you." Allye took his hand and pulled her from her seat. He looped her arm over his and led her out of the restaurant.
We went to his car and had her stay put while he grabbed something from the glove box of his car. He came back with a sketchbook in hand.
"I drew this the day after I met you." He opened the sketch book and on the first page was a sketch of her.
It was just Allye's head but he got every detail dead on. What got her attention was that he colored in her eyes red.
"That was what captivated me when I first met you. How your eyes glowed that crimson red. That's when I knew there was more to you than just being an Alpha Werewolf." Allye was at a loss of words.
"I don't know what to say Klaus...You're really good." Allye said in awe.
Klaus let out a soft smile before closing the sketch book, "Now I believe it's your turn."
"Well, first off...we're gonna need to find a piano. You don't mind breaking into a music store do you?"
Klaus just grinned, "Well then, what are we waiting for?"
Minutes after the two had found a music store and easily broke into it with the supernatural strength they possessed. The store was old and didn't have cameras and it wasn't hard for Klaus to compel the security guards.
Allye was standing in front of the piano section, waiting for Klaus to finish compelling the last of the guards.
"Sorry about that, love. One of them was trying to be sneaky." Klaus informed as he walked over to her.
Allye let out a sigh, "I can't believe I'm doing this, but a deal's a deal." She said and walked over to the grand piano that sat in the center of the section.
She moved the seat back and sat down in front of the keys, "Any requests?" She asked as Klaus leaned on the piano to look at her.
"Play whatever your heart desires, little wolf." Klaus stated and waited eagerly for her to start.
She placed her fingers on the keys before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. Her fingers started to move and press down the keys. The melody of Clocks by Coldplay filled the air.
Klaus was memorized as he watched her fingers dance across the keys. When Allye began to sing the lyrics his gaze switched to Allye herself.
Her voice was a beautiful soprano voice that almost took his breath away. He could tell she loved music by the way she closed her eyes and lost herself in it. While she was enveloped into the music, he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He took the picture silently and put his phone back before she could notice. This was a memory he never wanted to forget.
End of Flashback
Klaus smiled. That night while her and Stefan slept he had sketched her playing a piano. It was by far one of his favorite sketches. It would have to be something to show her when he got back.
With Allye
"I think the best moments going back to Beacon Hills is just to terrorize Stiles. He always does these reactions that makes me laugh and I just want to do it more." I said chuckling.
Laura laughed, "Trust me, I know. I've watched over you and Derek back in Beacon Hills. Stiles is a character, all right."
We were taking a walk through the forest and just talked about memories and new things.
My smile dropped and I looked over at Laura, "You've been watching us?" I asked softly.
Laura nodded her head, "During the good and bad times. You had a lot of bad times after I died, Allye." My gaze down shifted to the floor.
"I...lost it. After you were gone, I couldn't control my anger anymore. So whenever I would hear about a crime, I would chase down the offender...And kill them without hesitation. The thing that kind of scares me, is how much I enjoyed it." I said slowly.
Laura stopped and gently touched my arm, "I know, that's the bad part about being a Werewolf. When we kill, we feel the satisfaction of a successful hunt. It's not until later that our human side begins to feel guilty and you regret what you've done."
I shook my head, "There's no way I can avoid it. When I was stuck with Stefan and Klaus over the summer, I enjoyed torturing those people. I even did worse methods than Stefan. Stefan, Laura! He's a Ripper! I'm worse than a Ripper!" Laura didn't say anything so I continued.
"Klaus told Stefan he learned some of his favorite tricks from Stefan back in the 20's. Then he told me he's learned some new ones from me. He says I have talents like Stefan, and how the three of us are alike. If the summer taught me anything, it's that I really am the monster and bad guy that everyone in Beacon Hills portrayed me as."
I let out a sigh, "I'm fine with playing the bad guy, since it means I keep my friends safe. But there's a difference between playing and actually being the bad guy. I was that bad guy in Beacon Hills. I made sure that Scott and Stiles feared me in order for them to listen to me. In return for that, both of them would freak out and confront me if they found out I was speaking to their loved ones. That was what I wanted, the attention."
I felt Laura rub my back and pull me into a side hug, "You've been like that since the fire. It didn't matter if it was good or bad attention. That was all you wanted because you felt alone. But I've also noticed something else. Once you start to get friends, that attitude of making people fear you. It goes away, and you're back to the Allye I knew before the fire."
"And as for being like Stefan and Klaus, it is true. The three of you at some point in time, all felt alone. You all took joy in killing because it made you forget how alone you were. But like I said before, once any of you make friends and have people that you care about. The killing stops."
Laura then for some reason looked up at the night sky before looking at me with a sad smile.
"It's time for me to go back baby sis." I then got a look of horror.
"No, not yet. Laura I miss you too much. I don't know what to do anymore without you!" I pleaded as tears started well up.
Laura smiled and pulled me into a hug, "I'll still be watching over you. You have to stay strong, Allye. You can figure things out. You're a smart girl, I know you can do it. You just have to believe in yourself. I love you, baby sister." Laura muttered in my ear.
"I love you too." I muttered and I held back a sob when I no longer could feel her hug. It was only air in front of me now.
Instead of crying like I wanted to do, I had to stay strong for Laura. I wiped away the tears and took a deep breath. That's when my phone went off.
I took it out and saw Damon was calling me. I answered it and pressed the phone to my ear.
"Damon, what's up?" I asked with my voice now calm.
"Hey, I need a favor."
I rose an eyebrow, "What kind of favor?"
"Mason showed me something interesting in the Old Lockwood Cellar but the only problem is, I can't get in. Only a non-vampire can."
I let out a sigh, "I'll be there as soon as I can." I hung up and looked around. Laura was probably watching me right now on the Other Side.
I took another calming breath before heading out to the Old Lockwood Cellar.
"Damon?" I called out into the tunnel.
"Over here!" I heard him yell back.
I followed his voice and saw him standing to an entrance of a cave.
"What the hell was Mason showing you?" I asked bewildered.
"He said it could help us against Klaus and the other Originals." Damon informed.
"Well knowing Mason, he could either be pulling our legs or he could be telling the truth." I stated truthfully.
Damon smirked, "That's what I was thinking and that's the reason why I called you. Go in there and tell me if Mason was messing with me or not. He saw something in there and he disappeared before he told me what it was."
I nodded and stepped into the cave. My eyes glowed red as I activated my night vision. I looked around the cave and saw nothing. That was until I turned around.
My eyebrows lifted in surprise as I saw all of the markings and drawings on the wall.
"Well, what is it?" Damon asked impatiently.
"I don't know...But we're gonna have to call Ric." I informed Damon and didn't take my eyes of the wall.
Allye was able see Laura with The Other Side's veil being brought down. She had a good heart to heart with her sister that she didn't know she needed. It took someone close to Allye to make her open her eyes and realize the relationship she built with Klaus.
