I woke up to the sound of a heart beat in my ear and my left hand being stroked. I felt warmth radiating into me and without opening my eyes I already knew I was pressed up against Klaus. I snuggled in closer to him and I heard him lightly laugh.
"Good morning, love." He whispered and I felt him kiss the top of my head.
"Morning." I answered back. I opened my eyes and tilted my head up to see him. He was sitting slightly up with a pillow between his head and the headboard.
He had his signature dimple smile on his face as he looked at me. The hand he was using to stroke my hand moved to my cheek.
"You're happy." I stated obviously.
"Of course I am. The woman I've had my eyes on for months finally reciprocates my feelings." I hummed and I moved my hand up to just above his collar bone. A faint mark where I had bit him last night lingered there.
"More than just that, Klaus." He looked down and watched my finger draw the outline of the mark.
"I noticed that on you as well. I mean, I remember us both doing it, but it hasn't healed." Klaus stated and his own hand traced the mark I had on the crook of my neck.
"That's right, you weren't raised by wolves so you would never know." I started. Klaus' gaze turned back to me with a curious look.
"What is it then?" He asked, looking into my eyes.
"Tell me, have you felt something invisible pulling us to want to be together?" I asked him and used my thumb to rub circles on his collar bone.
"I have, and it has grown stronger every day. It's the strongest I've felt today."
I gave a grin, "These," I said and pointed to his mark, "Are the marks werewolf mates give one another. Even though we heal, the mark stays for at least a day. It's basically a marking saying we claim the other and werewolves mates are together for life."
A grin broke out on his face, "Mates, huh?" He said as he cupped my face.
"Yup, you're stuck with me. Sorry." I teased with a smile.
"That is perfectly fine with me, love." I shifted myself up and he met me halfway for a kiss.
We broke the kiss and he leaned his forehead against mine, "I've waited over a thousand years for you to show up in my life." He whispered and his blue eyes stared into my green ones.
"Ooh, look who can be romantic." I said in a teasing manner.
I pushed off the headboard and pulled my legs underneath me to sit up on the bed. Nik sat up himself and used his left hand to tuck my black bangs over my ear.
"I love you." He said.
"I love you too." I responded.
He leaned forward for another quick kiss before shuffling to the edge of the bed.
"Where are you going?" I asked curiously.
"Well, Mikael is dead so that means I can finally undagger the rest of my family." Oh right. I forgot about that. I watched as he put the clothes I lent to him back on.
"Is it bad I'm not exactly looking forward to meeting the rest of the Originals?" I asked cautiously.
Klaus chuckled and turned to me after slipping the shirt over his head, "You have nothing to fear from my family, my love." My heart skipped a beat hearing him call me that.
He walked around the bed to me and kissed me on my forehead, "You're my mate and that makes you part of my family." He assured me.
"Call me when you're done?" I asked.
"I will." He assured me and I watched him as he left my bedroom.
After getting dressed and eating a quick breakfast, I wandered around the forest. Klaus hadn't called yet and I was bored. I couldn't go into town since all of my friends now hate my guts. Something tells me finding out about the whole "mates" thing will make it worse.
I heard a cling sound that made me turn to the direction I heard it. "Nice shot, Gilbert." Tyler?
I walked towards the sound of them talking. I caught a glimpse of Jeremy shooting a wooden arrow with a crossbow at Tyler, who caught it with ease.
I raised my eyebrows at that, "You trying to take him out, Jer? Gonna be harder to kill a Hybrid than that." Tyler and Jeremy turned to me, shocked by my arrival.
"Hey Allye. Haven't seen you in a while." Jeremy commented.
"I've had an interesting summer, I'll say that." I said as I dug my hands in pockets.
"Avoiding town?" Tyler asked, still holding the wooden arrow.
"Yup." I said popping the last 'p'.
Tyler grimaced, "Can't say I blame you, I bet everyone is pissed at you for stopping the whole killing Klaus plan."
"You did what?" Jeremy asked, giving me a look.
"I had a good reason and still do." I argued. Tyler looked at me confused.
"You're not a Hybrid so I know you're not sired. What's the reason then?" He asked curiously.
"We're mates, Ty." Tyler's jaw dropped and Jeremy had a puzzled look on his face.
"Mates? Wait, that's a thing with Werewolves?" Jeremy said, confused.
"Yeah, and it's serious. When a Werewolf mates with another it's for life. They're devoted to each other no matter what." Tyler answered for me.
"Holy shit." Tyler added, "My mind is blown right now. That can work? Even though he's part Vampire?" Tyler asked, confused.
"He's half Werewolf, so yes. It's confirmed since when I first met him with his Werewolf powers sealed, I felt nothing. As soon as his Werewolf side was unsealed," I snapped my fingers to emphasize, "I felt this connection start."
"Why does being a Vampire have to do with mates?" Jeremy asked as he rested the crossbow against his shoulder.
"Werewolves can't mate with Vampires. Only humans and other Werewolves. I learned that in a very embarrassing way." I said as I awkwardly scratched the back of my neck.
"Well, wanna drink and shoot with us? Gilbert here got dumped and Caroline pissed me off. We're letting loose on some steam." Tyler asked and held the arrow out.
"What the hell. Why not." I said and grabbed the arrow. I walked to Jeremy and he handed me the crossbow.
I loaded it with one hand which made Jeremy scoff, "Show off with your supernatural strength." I let out a grin and winked.
"I could shoot this one handed if you want." I teased and loaded the arrow.
"Hey Ty, let's see how fast you can run and catch this arrow." I suggested and pointed the arrow at a clearing.
"You're on, Al." Tyler said grinning and set down his drink.
Today would be more fun than I thought.
I chugged down another beer as Tyler was having his turn with the crossbow and was trying to nail every beer can as fast as he could.
"Don't break Ric's toy." I chided in.
"I'm not going to break it." Tyler remarked.
"Just saying, it's Jer's head if something happens to it." Tyler sighed and slowed down.
The familiar sound of my phone's ringtone hit the air. I grabbed my phone out and saw "Klaus" on the caller ID. Finally got the phone call.
"I need to take this real quick." I told them.
"Yeah, ok." Jeremy acknowledged.
I walked away from the two of them and answered the phone. "That took you longer than I thought." I remarked.
"There's been a kink in my plans." He sounded mad.
"What happened?"
"Stefan happened. He took the coffins and is nowhere to be seen. I need your help to find him."
"Sure thing, but I'll try to sniff him out. You can interrogate Damon and Elena."
I heard Klaus chuckle on the other end, "Avoiding your friends, I see."
"I'm not exactly on their good side right now. They won't talk to me much less even acknowledge me. And once they find out about the mate's thing, something tells me those friendships are over." I informed him.
"Then that's their loss. Let me know if you get a scent on him. He knows how you track."
"I'll see what I can do."
"Be careful, love."
"You too." With that we both hung up.
"Hey, I gotta get going. I'll see you guys later." I called out to Tyler and Jeremy. They waved back in response and I walked off.
I walked around for what hours tracking the faint scent I could smell of Stefan's. I'll admit, he was making this difficult to track. He hid his scent pretty well but not enough. I had already sent a text to Klaus saying I found his scent but it was harder to track the source.
I eventually tracked it down. I stopped in front of none other than the old witches house. Haven't been here in forever. I took one step and suddenly I felt my back get slammed to a tree and hand on my throat crushing it.
I stared into the icy blue eyes of Damon who looked pissed off. Elena was right behind him with a horror look on her face.
"So you backstab us and now you're on Team Klaus?" Damon sneered.
My eyes glowed red as I growled and sunk my claws into Damon's arm that held my throat.
Damon grunted in pain and gave me the chance to kick him away. Damon landed on the ground with a thud.
"Big mistake." Damon said as he got up. Before he could charge me again, Elena grabbed his arm.
"Damon, stop!" Damon didn't move but glared daggers at me.
"Why should I? Her and Stefan ruined our plans! And you know what Jeremy told us! I could snap her neck right now and that's one less problem." Damon yelled and pointed at me.
"Damon, Klaus already tried to kill Jeremy because Stefan took his coffins. If he finds out you killed Allye, he'll kill everyone." Elena informed me. Klaus tried to kill Jeremy? I'm gonna have to talk to him about that. He's innocent in all of this.
"She's right, Damon." I said coldly. "You kill me, you'll have worse problems."
"Besides, we have the same goal right now. The sooner Klaus gets the coffins the better for all of us." I informed them.
"Allye," I turned to Elena, "I just want to know why. You know what Klaus has done. You know how bad he is." My jaw clenched.
"How bad he is?" I scoffed, "Elena, you have no idea how bad I am. I have killed more people than I can count. I enjoyed every hunt and every kill. I'm a Werewolf, a predator. It's in my nature. This whole good and bad shit is not as black and white as you think. It's all about perspective. Right now, Stefan is the bad guy for knowingly pissing off Klaus by stealing the coffins. He's the one that put Jeremy in danger for his reckless act. I hate to break it to you Elena, but Stefan doesn't even care that Jeremy's life was put into danger. He would have been collateral damage all in the name of Stefan getting revenge on Klaus." I said harshly with bitterness in my words.
Elena swallowed heavily, "You're lying. Stefan wouldn't do that."
"Don't believe me? Go ask him yourself. I won't call Klaus until you've talked to Stefan yourself. You have my word." I stated.
"Except, you're not calling him at all." I turned hearing Stefan's voice and I felt a blow to my head and my world went dark.
I let out a groan as I had a splitting headache. I slowly opened up my eyes and squinted at the sunlight hitting my eyes. I looked around at my surroundings and it looked like I was in a basement or a cell. I went to move my hand but felt resistance. I looked at my wrists and both were bound in chains that were connected to the floor.
"Don't bother trying to break them. I grabbed them from your house. They're Wolfsbane infused aren't they?" I gave a look to Stefan who walked into view.
"Where am I, Stefan?" I asked bluntly. I gingerly felt where my head hurt and pulled it back to see my almost dried blood on my fingers.
Stefan shrugged and gave a smirk, "Take a guess. Most Werewolves find themselves here during a full moon."
"How original. The Old Lockwood Cellars." I stated and rolled my eyes.
"Yup, and until your new boyfriend or how did Damon put it? Mate? Well anyway, I'm not freeing you until I get even with Klaus."
"You know Klaus won't be too happy that I'm now your hostage." I stated matter of factly.
"Oh I know, you're leverage. Just like the coffins. Klaus's weak spot is his family and now also you." Stefan walked out of the cell then came back with a brown paper bag.
"Here. I don't need you starving to death or die from dehydration. I need you alive for this to work." He said and tossed the paper bag by my hands, "I'll check on you tomorrow. Have fun." He taunted and walked off.
"No, you won't." I muttered once I knew he was gone. Problem was figuring a way out of this.
I stood up and tried to pull on the chains, but it just sapped my strength. Okay, so he wasn't lying about the Wolfsbane infused chains. Knowing Stefan, he has the key to unlock the chains. I grew my claws out on my right hand. I put one of my claws into the lock of the chains to see if I could pick it that way.
I huffed in frustration when that didn't work. If only I wore bobby pins like so many other women. Something tells me I'm going to be here for longer than I thought.
I sat back down and dumped the bag out to show some snacks packed. "Really? Decides to hold me hostage and I only get some water, goldfish, yogurt, and an apple.". I sighed and leaned my head back against the stone wall. Someone needs to find me and fast.
The Next Day
I was tossing the apple up in the air and catching it. It was already the next day and the only visitor I had was Stefan. That was in the morning and I've been down here for hours. It's probably already in the afternoon. He gloated some more than dumped more food and water. I hear the sound of a door opening. I caught the apple and watched the entrance to the cell until I saw Elena appear.
"Well, well. If it isn't Miss Goody Two Shoes." I said with a fake smile.
"I just came to talk, Allye." Elena said as she crossed her arms.
"About what?" I scoffed, "How this is my punishment or that I deserve this because of my feelings for Klaus?"
"You were right. Stefan didn't care that he put Jeremy's life in danger." I let out a chuckle and smirked.
"Of course I was right. Stefan's hurt, angry, and alone. People tend to be more reckless."
"He's not alone. He has me and Damon." I rolled my eyes.
"Not anymore he doesn't. Stefan lost you the moment he left town. As for Damon, as far as Stefan's concerned you're now Damon's problem. Stefan's main objective is to get back at Klaus and make him suffer. He doesn't care who gets hurt. Tell me, I'm sure Klaus already knows that Stefan is keeping me hostage. Who'd he try to kill this time?" I asked curious.
"He...tried to kill Caroline by making Tyler bite her." I raised an eyebrow at the word "tried".
"She's still alive then?" I asked.
Elena huffed, "Yes, Klaus cured her." I couldn't help but chuckle.
"See, that's funny. That proves to me that your perfect little world of good and bad isn't so black and white now is it? Why would Klaus save Caroline after having one of his hybrids bite her? According to your logic, he should have let her die to the venom. So please, tell me Elena. Why did he save Caroline?" I asked.
"To manipulate us." I leaned my head back and laughed.
"Oh my god. Everything has to have a secondary motive with you. You're just saying that because you can't fathom the idea of Klaus doing a good deed. You know, taking a step back and looking at what you've done to Stefan and Damon it's clear as day. You're just as bad as Katherine. You manipulated both of them, hell you manipulated me. Constantly playing the damsel in distress. I see through your act now, Elena Gilbert." I said bitterly.
"I am nothing like Katherine." She spat back.
"Oh really? Then what happened to Rebekah on the night of homecoming? You were the one that went to tell her the truth and she never showed up. I'm going to guess you had enough courage to dagger her but not enough face to face. You seem like a backstabber." Elena didn't say anything.
"Are you done now? You can move on and let me rot in here until either Stefan decides to free me or Klaus finds me." I said, leaning back against the stone wall.
Elena didn't walk away, she instead pulled something out of her jeans pocket. She held up the key to the shackles.
"How'd you get that?" I asked curious, leaning forward.
"Stefan hid the key in his room. I found it after I led Klaus to Rebekah to take her back. Klaus threatened he'd start killing unless he had you back." I narrowed my eyes at her.
"What do you want?" I asked wearily.
"Klaus will listen to you. If I free you, you need to tell Klaus to leave anybody innocent out of this. Caroline, Matt, Jeremy, Alaric. They're not part of what's going on with the coffins. Do I have your word?" Elena asked.
She's telling the truth. I'm not hearing a spiked heartbeat.
"Alright. You have my word." I said and stood up and held out my hands.
Elena gave a shaky breath and walked up to me. She inserted the key in the lock and turned. The shackles opened and fell on the ground. She stepped to the side as I eyed her and rubbed my wrists.
"Thanks." Was all I said and walked out of the cell. I headed up the stairs and out the door.
Sure enough, I was in the middle of the woods where the old Lockwood cellars are. Anger boiled inside me as I processed what happened to me. Stefan was going to pay. I started to make my way towards the boarding house. Time for my own revenge.
This chapter is a merge of episodes New Deal and Our Town. I had to do this due to Allye being held captive by Stefan. Now that Allye is Klaus' mate, everyone now knows it. She can now become leverage against him by his enemies.
