The boarding house came into view as I got closer. Stefan's car was in the driveway but Damon's was missing. There was also a white SUV that I've never seen before that backed up and drove off. The windows were tinted so I couldn't tell who was inside. I waited for the car to far in the distance before heading to the front door. I stopped before opening the door and saw a shovel at the side of the house.
I went over to the shovel and broke the wooden handle for a makeshift stake. I went back to the front door and opened it.
In the foyer I could see Stefan's back to me. "What? Not finished talking yet. I told you I'm not negotiating Klaus." So that was Klaus leaving then.
"I'm not here for that." Stefan turned around just as I threw the stake and it embedded into Stefan's abdomen.
"AGH!" He screamed out and fell to his knees. My eyes glowed red as I strided over to him.
"Big mistake in taking me hostage." I said in a low voice and pushed the stake deeper. He grunted in pain as he glared at me.
"How'd you get free?" He snarled through his pain.
I smirked, "You can thank your ex-girlfriend for that. I made a deal with her. My freedom in exchange for Klaus not hurting any innocents. I came here to get even." I informed and kneeled down to be at eye level with Stefan.
"This is you getting even? Stabbing me with a makeshift stake? You can do better than that." Stefan said chuckling.
"Oh I can. I know the coffins are in the witch's house, where else would they be? Those witches are known for helping, even on the other side." Stefan's smirk dropped.
"And you just confirmed it for me. It was just a hunch but that face tells me everything." In a quick motion, I snapped Stefan's neck and he slumped on the floor.
"Now, we're even." I retorted.
I searched his pockets until I found his cell phone. Mine was probably destroyed since it wasn't on me when I woke up. I scrolled until I saw Klaus' number. I hit call and brought it to my ear. It rang twice before being picked up.
"Stefan, calling so soon? Have you decided to finally negotiate on telling me where my family and Allye are?" I heard Klaus' fake cheerful voice.
"It's me." I responded and Klaus stayed silent.
"Allye, sweetheart. Where are you? Are you hurt?" He asked urgently.
"I'm at the Boarding House and I'm fine. A little ticked off but I'm fine. I found Stefan before he knocked me out and locked me up in the old Lockwood cellars. Elena freed me. Oh, and I know where the coffins are at." I informed him.
"I knew I could count on you, love. I'll have to thank Elena for freeing you. I'm heading back to the house now. I'll see you in a bit." With that Klaus hung up. I dropped Stefan's phone on the ground and walked out the front door.
I stopped at the edge of the driveway and put my hands in my jacket pockets as I waited. I saw the same white SUV coming down the road. I walked along the edge of the driveway until the SUV came to a stop. Klaus opened the driver's side door and quickly came over to me and hugged me out of relief. I hugged him back, just as relieved to finally be out of that cellar.
He pulled back and placed both hands on my cheeks, "Are you sure you're alright, love?" He asked, searching my eyes for an answer.
I gently grabbed his hands and moved them away from my face, "I'm fine. Stefan didn't hurt me." Saying Stefan's name brought anger to Klaus. I could see it in his eyes.
"Where is he? Is he still inside?" He asked, anger in his voice. He looked past me to the house.
"He is but he can't do much talking right now. He currently has a broken neck at the moment and a stake going through his abdomen. Had to get even myself." A grin formed on Klaus' face.
"That's my girl." He said with pride. He leaned down and gave me a chaste kiss on the lips.
"Now," Klaus said as he opened the passenger side door, "Tell me about those coffins and we'll be off." He said slyly.
"Before going anywhere, Klaus. I need you to promise me something." I said stopping in front of him.
"And what would that be?" He asked curiously.
"You leave innocent people out of this. That means no hurting them, killing them, or compelling them." Klaus gave me a look.
"That's why Elena freed you, isn't it?" Klaus stated and gave me a hard look.
"Yes." I answered honestly. Klaus let out huff and walked away from the car door. He stopped and I could feel anger start to come off of him.
"I'm not promising anything for Elena Gilbert." Klaus turned around and looked me in the eye. His anger started to fade away and I could feel love as he looked at me.
"But for you, I will. You get to decide who is innocent, not Elena." Klaus walked up to me and put a hand on top of each of my shoulders.
"I give you my word, love. No hurting, killing, or compelling innocents. You just need to tell me who." I nodded.
"Any human in Mystic Falls for starters." Klaus gave me a grin and chuckled.
"I figured that much. I'm asking for specifics, love." I rolled my eyes and wrapped my arms around his neck. He moved his hands and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Jeremy, Bonnie, Megan, and Matt." Klaus gave me a look that told me his curiosity had peaked.
"Megan and the two humans I expected, but Bonnie?" He asked, interested.
"Bonnie's my friend just like the others. She's been through enough and has had to deal with more loss than any of them. We don't need to add to her plate."
Klaus gave a nod, "All right." He leaned down and gave me another kiss.
He pulled away from the kiss, "Now, shall we?" He asked and gestured to the open car door.
I walked over to the passenger side and got it. Klaus closed the door and made his way around the drivers side. It felt good to be with him again. Hopefully, now this coffin drama can end.
I waited just outside the old witch house. Klaus said he had to make a phone call. Apparently, he had a plan B to get the location of the coffins but now he was calling it off.
I saw Klaus walking back over to me, now done with his phone call.
"Stay here, love. I'll head inside." I furrowed my brows at him.
"What? Why not?" I was confused at what he said.
"I just got you back. Stefan has had time to warn anyone. I am not risking you being taken again or worse by going into a potential trap. Only one of us is immortal. Please my love. Stay here." I sighed in defeat.
"Fine. I'll stay here." Klaus gave me his signature smile and kissed my forehead.
"I'll be right back." I watched his back as he headed into the house.
Minutes passed and instead of seeing Klaus walking out, I see Damon with a smug smirk.
"Well look at that. The dogs off her leash." I rolled my eyes at the dog joke.
"Don't play dumb, Damon. I know Stefan gave you a heads up. From the smug smirk on your face and the fact you're alive is too telling. What'd you do?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Took the fourth coffin for insurance purposes." I let out a groan and rubbed my temples.
"Really? You want to cause more bloodshed?" Damon smirked and wiggled his eyebrows.
"You know me, Allye. I love a good bloodshed." He said as he stepped dangerously close to me.
"Unless you have a death wish, Damon. I'd suggest backing away from my mate." I heard Klaus' voice. Damon turned his head to Klaus then back to me.
"You've used that term on me too, but it wasn't real. How are you so sure that this," he gestured to me and Klaus, "is real?" Damon asked, genuinely curious.
I heard a growl come from Klaus, "I will not repeat myself again. Leave. Now." Klaus said dangerously, his eyes now glowing golden and veins starting to appear under his eyes.
"You wouldn't understand, Damon. It's a thing only for wolves." I retorted coldly.
Damon locked eyes with me for one more time before he vanished. I looked at Klaus and he still looked tense.
"Klaus-"
"Go home, Allye." Klaus interrupted bluntly. My heart twinged at the tone of voice he used at me. Damon got under his skin.
I said nothing more and turned around and left. Stupid Damon, why did he have to bring that up? I don't think Klaus knew I had used that term with Damon. Now he's mad with me.
Allye gets some just desserts with Stefan for keeping her hostage. Klaus shows his first big change in his personality due to Allye. He's agreed to not hurt, kill, or compel any innocents. She's finally rejoined with Klaus but has noticed his protectiveness. Even bringing up the fact he's immortal and she is not. Hm? Will that cause an issue later down the road? Klaus is still bothered by Damon and Allye's past relationship to the point he pushes Allye away.
