"What?" I said in disbelief. Nik did not just say he wants to turn me into a Hybrid.
"I'm not saying you have to decide now. I just needed to let you know what I want to do." Nik assured me.
I shook my head, "Nik, I love you but I don't want to become part Vampire."
"You could change your mind in a couple years. Like I said, you don't have to make your decision now. I can wait." Nik said and walked over to me and grabbed both my hands.
"All I ask, is to please consider it." Nik pleaded with me.
"All right. I'll think about it." I said finally. I downcasted my head and I felt Nik use one hand to cup my chin.
He lifted my chin up to make eye contact with him, "I love you." He said.
"I love you too." Nik pulled me in for a gentle kiss. I broke the kiss and leaned my forehead against his.
"I would like it if you spent the night here." He whispered.
"I could do that." Nik smiled and gave me a kiss on my forehead.
"Go ahead. I'll be there soon." We let go of each other and I headed upstairs.
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside. The sun was streaming through the closed curtains of Nik's bedroom. I felt dread build up in my chest thinking about what happened last night. I really don't want to be a Hybrid but…
I looked over my shoulder to see Nik still asleep. I watched silently as his bare chest rose and fell as he breathed. Just like how I couldn't leave Laura and Derek alone three years ago. I can't leave Nik behind either. Part of being in love is sometimes making sacrifices. This would be one I would have to make.
I rolled over to my other side and my eyes landed on Nik's tattoo. The feather of a bird that started on his left arm then to feathers leading other birds that went up to his collarbone. My vision focused on his left side and I could hear his heart beat. That reminds me. The white oak stake issue.
I used my right arm to push myself up and I swung my legs off the bed. My bare feet touched the rug under the bed. I need to make sure Stefan and Damon hand over the other two stakes.
I slightly jumped when I felt something snake around my stomach.
"Somebody's jumpy this morning." I heard Nik's voice by my left ear. I didn't even feel the bed move. I was really lost in thought.
He was using his left arm to prop himself up and wrapped his right arm around my stomach.
"Sorry. I was kind of in my own head." I felt Nik rest his chin on my left shoulder.
"What for?" He asked.
"The fact there are still two white oak stakes out there that can kill you," I started and I felt Nik put his face at the crook of my neck, "Processing the whole Hybrid thing." Nik pulled me closer to him and I felt my clothed back meet his bare chest. I lost my train of thought feeling Nik kiss up my neck.
"And you're trying to distract me." I concluded.
"Successfully might I add." Nik stated. He laid back down on the bed and brought me down on the bed with him.
I turned to my right side and laid my head on Nik's chest and draped my left arm across him. I felt Nik rest his hand on top of my shoulder.
"Seriously though, we need to get those stakes." I said as I lifted my head up to look at Nik.
Nik made eye contact with me and let out a sigh. He turned to his side and used his left arm to prop his head up.
"We will, love. I'm giving the Salvatore brothers a deadline that ends at noon." I gave him a puzzled look.
"Why noon?" Nik smiled and tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
"We've been together for a short while now, but we've never had a chance to do this. Just lay in bed and enjoy each other's company."
"Fine. You win." I said sighing in defeat. Nik grinned and we both moved forward for a quick kiss.
"Remember love s-"
"Stay behind you, I know. That's like the millionth time you've said it." I exaggerated as Nik and I exited his car.
"You do realize I can handle myself? I know for a fact you've seen what I can do." I told Nik as we walked along the cobblestone path to the Salvatore Boarding house.
Nik smirked, "Oh I'm well aware what you're capable of, love. Just taking precautions with Stefan after the events of last night. Besides, Kol sent me a text saying he saw Damon and Elena in Denver with the young Gilbert. They're up to something and I'm not taking chances now." He said as he opened the front door for me.
I walked into the boarding house and no sign of Stefan or Damon. I breathed in through my nose and picked up Stefan and Ric's scents here.
"Stefan and Ric are here." I informed as Nik walked in front of me
"I can hear them. It's coming from the basement." Nik followed up as he focused on his hearing.
Nik turned his head to face the fireplace and I could see a smirk form on his face.
"One down." He said and walked over to the coffee table and picked up the white oak stake that was sitting there.
"Where's the last one?" I pondered out loud and surveyed the house.
"Let's go ask them ourselves, shall we?" Nik said and walked past me towards the basement.
I followed Nik down the stairs. I could Stefan and Ric as we got closer. The smell of alcohol also hit my nose.
"The thing is, he's me. I'm not compelled, I'm not possessed, there's no humanity switch. What drives him is me." I heard Ric say.
"No. No, he's not you. He's the darkest part of you. The parts we all have." I heard Stefan say assuredly to Ric.
Nik took this chance to make himself known, "Well, this is depressing, isn't it?" Nik asked walking through the doorway of the cell. Stefan stood up and him and I made eye contact with him as I stood behind Nik.
"Oh, and I found this," Nik took out the white oak stake he hid in the inside jacket pocket, "upstairs. Now, by my count, there should be one more."
Stefan's eyes shifted to Nik, "Yeah, well it's gonna take a little more time."
"Why? Because we're waiting for that one to pass out?" Nik gestured to Rik, "No thanks. I think I'll just kill him." Nik rebuttal. He went to step forward but Stefan blocked his path.
"Well, then you won't know the location of the other stake." Stefan said with a tight smile.
"I can live with that." Nik retorted and gave his own tight smile.
"Well, I can't. When we staked Finn, we discovered that killing an Original vampire killed its entire bloodline. Now, I don't know which one of you I'm descended from, but I'd really rather not find out by dying, so why don't we just find the stake, destroy it, so we can all be safe?" Stefan stated.
"So, the fate of the entire vampire race depends on you finding a stake? And to get it we need you to pass out. Which means that I feel totally justified doing this." Nik used his vamp speed to flash over to Ric and snap his neck. Ric slumped to the floor with neck at an awkward angle.
"There. Sleeping like a baby." Nik said, smirking at Stefan.
"Oh and there is one more thing." Nik said, holding up a finger before pinning Stefan to the brick wall behind him, "If you ever attempt to kill Allye again I will kill the one you hold dear. Do we understand one another?" Nik threatened dangerously.
"Yes." Stefan answered and Nik let him go.
"Let's head home, love." Nik stated to me. I turned around and headed for stairs leading up to the ground level.
We made our way out of the boarding house. As soon as the door closed and out of Stefan's hearing range. I opened my mouth to speak, "Home?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
I stopped in front of the car and Nik stopped right beside the driver side door. He turned to face me and let out a sigh.
"I was going to talk to you about this somewhere more private but, I should have expected you'd catch on what I said back there." Nik walked over to me slowly. He put his hand in his jean pocket and stopped just in front of me.
"I don't want us sleeping in separate beds anymore or in separate homes for that matter." He took his hand out of his pocket and held up a key, "I would like it if you moved in to live with me."
"This is a little fast, don't you think?" I said but with a smile on my face.
"Not with you it isn't." Nik said gingerly. I reached my hand out and grabbed the key.
Nik didn't let go of his grip and looked into my eyes, "I'll take that as a yes?" He whispered.
"Actions speak louder than words." Was my only reply to his answer. Nik loosen his grip on the key and I took it out of his hand.
"I'll head home and pack my necessities." Nik exhaled and gave a small smile. I kissed his cheek and walked past him and the car.
"Where are you going?" Nik asked, confused.
I stopped and turned my head to look over my shoulder, "Going to pack. My place isn't that far from the boarding house and I feel like a run." I said as my eyes glowed red and a smirk on my face. "I'll see you at home." I winked and continued walking to the woods. I couldn't help but smile feeling the love and lust coming off from him. It felt good that I could get that reaction out of him.
I locked the front door of the Hale Family home for what I think might be the last time. All of my essentials were in a duffel bag in the trunk of my car. I walked off the porch and stopped and turned around to look at the house.
A lot of memories in this house. My heart fluttered nervously as I thought about living under the same roof now as Nik. This is a big step in our relationship but it felt right. That invisible tie between us grew stronger each day. Something I didn't think could happen.
My thoughts were interrupted as my phone's ringtone went off. I pulled my phone from my back pocket. I answered it when I saw it's Nik calling.
"Hey, I was just about to leave." I said as I started to walk to the driver side door.
"Excellent timing, love. Rebekah and I are headed back to the boarding house. Stefan must have gotten something from the vampire hunter by now."
"I'll meet you there then." I opened the car door and got in and closed it.
"You should know. Kol confirmed my suspicions of Damon and the doppelganger going to Denver to figure out their sire line."
"Did they?" I asked as I put the keys into the ignition. The engine roared to life after turning the key.
"No, I know Katerina is the one that sired the Salvatore brothers, she was sired by Rose, and Rose was sired by a vampire named Mary Porter. She use to run with us back in the day."
"From the way you're talking, I assume you're the one that sired her and she's now dead thanks to Kol." I said as I buckled my seat belt and rested my one hand on the steering wheel.
"Sharp as always, love. I'll see you soon." Nik hung up and I put my phone in my left breast pocket of my leather jacket.
I shifted the car into drive and headed off for the boarding house.
I pulled up to the boarding house and put my car into park just as Rebekah walked out with a bloodied Ric. I opened the door and got out of my car, not bothering to turn off the engine.
I stared at Ric curiously, he felt...different. Ric gave a bloody smirk.
"Allye. How does it feel to fail as a Werewolf?" He taunted as Rebekah and he stopped walking.
I raised an eyebrow at that, "Fail how, exactly?" I asked, more curious then angered.
"Werewolves are supposed to be nature's way of killing off Vampires. Yet you side with them. You've fallen in love with two of them. You're a disgrace to your kind." Ric spat out with venom in his tone and an evil smirk on his face.
"Says the vampire hunter who's ex-wife left your ass to become one." I fired back. Ric lost his smirk and glared daggers at me.
"Ouch." Rebekah said, smirking before pushing Ric, "Keep it moving." She demanded and forced Rik to move.
I watched as the two disappeared into the woods behind the boarding house. That was definitely not the Ric I knew. That's what him and Stefan were talking about earlier in the cell. I heard the sound of the front door open. I looked over to the door to see Nik walking out.
"I take it we know the location of the last stake?" I called out. I watched as Nik walked closer to my car.
"We do. Rebekah's is taking him to ensure the delivery of the stake." Nik said with a smirk. He stopped in front of my car and observed it.
"I don't believe I've actually seen your car before." Nik commented.
"I see yours isn't here. I take it you and Rebekah used your vampire speed here?" I asked curiously.
"You could say we took a page out of your book in that regard, love." I rolled my eyes but had a smile on my face.
"Get in." I said as I got back into the driver's seat. I closed my door as the passenger door opened and Nik got in. As he closed the door, I put the car into drive.
"So what's the plan now that we have all the stakes?" I asked as I kept my eyes on the road.
"Packing up and getting out of this sad little town. Myself, you, and Rebekah will go where we want with my hybrids as protection detail. Oh and of course one doppelganger as well." My eyes glanced at Nik for a second.
"I saw that look, love. What is it?" Nik asked with a serious tone.
"There's nothing tying me to Mystic Falls. My real home burned down seven years ago. I'll go where you go." Nik gave a small smile hearing that, "But," His smile quickly disappeared, "Rebekah doesn't, Nik. She wants to stay here."
Nik scoffed, "She only wants to stay here and play human. Her place is with her family."
"She's been with you for over a thousand years, Nik. She's stuck with you when no one else did. She's had to make sacrifices for you. Don't you think she's allowed to be happy at least once?" I asked and looked at him for a quick second before facing the road again.
Nik stayed silent and turned his head to gaze out the window. I could feel fear wave off of him. He hated being abandoned; no he feared it most of all.
"Letting her stay doesn't mean you're losing her. You will always be her older brother. Nothing can change that. Trust me on that. I'm over a thousand miles away from Derek when we were all we had for six years of running. I miss him like crazy every day, but I know he's still there for me if I need him. That's all Rebekah needs from you, to be her big brother when she needs you." I spoke gently.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and took a deep breath before saying, "I'll have her pass the torch to me. I'll be with you forever." This caused Nik to turn his head to me with shock in his eyes.
"Are you saying?" He started out in a whisper.
"I'll do it. I'll become a Hybrid on one condition." I told Nik seriously.
"Name it." Nik said and placed his hand right below my right leg.
"I want a few more years as a normal Werewolf. I'll turn when I become twenty-one." I glanced at him as I told him this.
"You have a deal then, love. I can wait three more years." I took one hand off the steering wheel and placed it on top of Nik's hand.
"And Rebekah?" I segwayed back to the subject beforehand. Nik turned his hand so his palm was facing me. He gently squeezed my hand.
Nik let out a sigh, "I suppose I can let her stay and have her human life fantasy." A smile grew on my face and I squeezed Nik's hand back.
"I would kiss you, but I'm driving." I told my thoughts out loud.
Nik shifted to lean towards me. I felt his hand let go of mine and place his palm onto my leg. My breath hitched in my throat when I felt his hand slide down to my inner thigh and squeeze, "Oh I'm planning on celebrating tonight, my love." Nik whispered into my ear. My jaw clenched as I felt my eyes involuntarily flash red.
There's Allye's answer. She's agreed to become a Hybrid to stay with Klaus forever and allow Rebekah to live how she wants. From this point on, part of the story is going to vary much differently due to being an AU. I'm also going to changing the time. The actual time of the show is very confusing for example. According to wiki, Hope's birthday falls in May, but if you look back at Season 4 of TVD it makes no sense. The day Elena and the others graduate (which is typically in late May/early June) Hope isn't born yet and Hayley wasn't even close to giving birth yet as The Originals had just started Season 1. To me events of Season 4 happen from middle of August to beginning of October before TVD and TO split.
