I woke up to a scratching sound and hearing the morning birds chirp. I started to open my eyes and went to stretch but, "Don't move, love." I heard Nik's voice.
I stopped hearing him behind me, "What? Why?" I asked groggily. Nik only gave a light chuckle in reply. I could hear more of the scratching sound and it dawned on me.
"Are you sketching me, right now? That's why I can't move after just waking up?" I asked in a monotone voice.
"I'm almost done." He assured me.
"You're lucky I love you." I muttered under my breath. He's interrupting the morning flow at the moment.
"Yes, I am." I heard the scratching finally stop, "All done, love. You can move now."
"Finally." I said, raising my arms above my head as I stretched. I rolled on my back.
I could now see Nik sitting in the chair across from me. He was already dressed for the day and had his legs crossed with the sketchbook in his lap and a pencil hanging from in between his fingers.
I sat up in the bed and pulled the sheets to cover my bare chest. "So what made you decide to suddenly sketch me?" I asked curiously.
Nik uncrossed his legs and held his sketchbook and stood up from the chair, "I woke up this morning wanting to draw or paint something. It wasn't until after I got dressed that I found you in the perfect pose in your sleep." Nik stated and sat on the edge of the bed in front of me. He held out the sketchbook for me to look.
I was laying on my stomach, my head was turned towards the left, my left arm in front of me with my elbow bent so my hand was just a little ways from my head, my right arm under the pillow, my bare back was exposed and the sheets just covered my lower half, and my right leg was just outside of the sheets.
"I would like to do this more often." Nik brought up suddenly.
"What? Sketch me in my sleep? That's not creepy at all." I said sarcastically.
Nik rolled his eyes at me, "I meant you posing for me when I draw or paint." I narrowed my eyes and hummed.
"Depends…on what you're having me do or look like." Nik grew a devious smirk on his face.
"I would prefer for you to be naked for the poses." He said suggestively.
"Maybe I'll do it for your birthday, even though I have no idea when that is. Which is unfair,by the way, you know mine." I said and crossed my arms.
"I thought you didn't celebrate birthdays?" Nik teased with a smirk.
I deadpanned at him, "I don't celebrate mine. I celebrate the birthdays of the people I care for." I corrected him.
"Fine. It's March 25." Nik answered.
"Do I want to know the year?" I teased but I had a wide smile on my face.
"The year isn't important. Now hurry up and get dressed." Nik said and stood up from the bed.
I couldn't help but chuckle, "All right. I'll meet you downstairs." Nik leaned down and gave me a chaste kiss.
He slowly broke the kiss and we made eye contact after. I could feel my heart beat quicken just seeing the love, care, and warmth in his eyes.
"I love you." He said.
"I love you too." I responded.
"I'll see you downstairs then, love." He kissed my forehead and headed to the bedroom door. He opened and shut it behind him and I fell back into the bed and let out a happy sigh. I haven't felt this happy in a very long time.
I sat in somewhat silence in Nik's art studio on the chaise lounge reading a book. The only sound coming from Nik's paint brush as he stroked. He was making some type of abstract art that had a lot of black in it. I heard footsteps coming towards us and Rebekah's scent.
Nik also sensed her presence, " What took you so long?" Nik asked, not stopping from his painting.
"Alaric didn't want to hand over the stake." I glanced at Rebekah and she held up the stake, "Luckily I'm quite the charmer." She said, smirking.
Nik stopped painting and looked at the stake, "That's it?" He asked.
"The last of the white oak stakes that can kill us. Do you want to do the honors or shall I?" Rebekah asked holding the stake out to Nik.
Nik sat down the paintbrush on the edge of the easel and grabbed the stake from Rebekah. He tossed it into the fire and returned back to his painting.
"Well that's that then." Rebekah said and turned around and started to walk away.
"Allye, your bags still packed?" I heard Nik ask me.
"Yup, didn't bother to unpack." Rebekah froze and turned back to us.
"You're leaving?" Nik turned and gave Rebekah a tight lip smile.
"I didn't have a chance to tell you. As your big brother, I'm honoring your wish to stay here and live your human fantasy. I'll grab the doppelganger and Allye and I will be off by sunset." Rebekah looked taken aback by the news.
"Why today?" Rebekah asked. I frowned and closed the book completely and faced Rebekah fully.
"Why not? There's nothing keeping us here." Nik stated, going back to his painting.
"You okay, Bekah?" I asked out of concern. I'd thought she'd be much happier that she would get to stay here.
"I'm fine, it's just the decade dance is tonight. I was hoping you'd both go." I let out a scoff.
"Nothing good happens at those dances. The last time I was at one," I pointed at Nik, "He happened." Nik stopped mid stroke and turned his head at me with a frown on his face.
"No offense." I added quickly.
"And that is exactly why you need to go. You need a do-over. Besides, I already got you a dress." I deadpanned now realizing she was fighting us on this.
I put my face in my hands, "You planned this...didn't you?" I asked and looked up at Rebekah who was smiling.
"Yes and I have bigger plans tonight. Your dress is upstairs in my room." With that she turned around and walked away.
"How does she always do this?" I exasperated and fell back onto the chaise lounge.
Nik chuckled and set his paintbrush down. He walked over and I lifted my legs for him to sit down on the chaise lounge. I put my legs over his lap once he sat down.
"Think of it as one last hoorah before leaving this town behind." Nik said and placed one hand on my right shin.
I gave Nik an unamused expression, "You just want to see me dressed up in 20's fashion." Nik gave me a playful smile and shrugged.
"You're really predictable sometimes." I made a snide comment.
I let out a gasp as Nik touched my side. I held back laughter as I tried and failed to recoil from him tickling me.
"Predictable am I?" He teased and continued his tickle assault.
"Okay! Okay! I give in!" I yelled in between laughter, completely powerless to stop him.
He stopped and he was laughing as well now. "That was so unfair." I said as I tried to catch my breath.
Nik slightly covered his mouth with the back of his hand as he continued to chuckle slightly. I just shook my head in hearing him. Glad he found this so entertaining.
"Glad to see you find torturing me to be so entertaining." I said sarcastically and got up from the chaise lounge.
Nik let out another chuckle, "Sorry, love. It's just I would never expect someone like you to be so ticklish." Not the first time I've heard that.
"I get that a lot. Well you finish your painting. I'm gonna head into town for some food before I have to start getting ready for the dance." I said and started to walk towards the front door.
"Hold on, hold on. I'm coming with you." Nik said with one last chuckle and a smile on his face. He got up from the chaise lounge and grabbed his car keys that sat on the server in the room.
I waited by the front door as he took quick strides to catch up with me. "I'll buy you dessert to make up for it." He said used one arm around my waist to pull me into him for a kiss.
"Deal." I answered. Nik let go of my waist and opened the front door.
"Bekah, we're heading out!" I called out, knowing she'd be able to hear me.
"You still haven't told me where you'd like to go after we leave Mystic Falls." Nik mentioned as he put his napkin on the table. Signaling he was done with his meal.
I shrugged, "I'm not sure." I answered and ate another french fry.
Nik leaned forward on the table with his forearms, "There has to be somewhere. Chicago? New York?" He threw out options. The idea then hit me.
"Beacon Hills." I answered.
Nik raised his eyebrows, "Your hometown?" I nodded.
"Why not? I've been gone from there for almost a year and a half. I'd be able to see my brother, my friends, and my pack." Nik's interest peaked at the word pack.
I pointed my finger at him, "You're not turning my pack into hybrids." I answered quickly before he could even mention it.
Nik put a hand up in defense, "I was not going to suggest that. I'd be interested in meeting your pack. They're all wolves that you turned, correct?" I nodded.
"Every single one and they only got the bite because as a human, they've never known power or control. It makes them appreciate turning more than a human that already has all that."
"That sounds very similar to a sire bond with vampires." Nik compared.
I shook my head, "Not exactly. I didn't expect to gain any of my pack members loyalty automatically. A good Alpha earns their packs loyalty. That's what I did with mine." Nik nodded slowly as if he was processing what I said.
I grabbed my phone from my back pocket to check the time, "We'll need to have the dessert to go. We need to start getting ready for the decade dance." I stated and put my phone back in my pocket. I flagged down the waitress
"Hi, sorry. That dessert we just ordered, can that be to go?" I asked.
"Sure thing." The waitress nodded and headed to the kitchen.
"Can I ask you a question and you answer honestly?" I stared at Nik curiously. He looked serious.
"Sure, what is it?" I asked.
"You know my hybrids are sired to me. They listen to me without fault. That's why I know I can trust them as they'll do as I say. If they didn't have that sire bond do you think they would follow what I said?" I took a deep breath. I remember the conversation with Damon when we found out Tyler was first sired. "False Loyalty" is what he called it.
"Honestly?" I questioned again and Nik nodded.
"When I first found out about Tyler having a sire bond, I was told it's basically "false loyalty". So the answer to your question. No. If they didn't have the sire bond, I don't think they'd follow you as their Alpha." I saw Nik's jaw tense and he looked away as he leaned on the table.
"You make it sound and look so easy." Nik muttered. I furrowed my brows.
"What do you mean?" I asked softly.
"Earning their loyalty. I've seen how you and Megan interact. When you tell her something, she doesn't question it. She just does it." Nik said and turned his back at me and made eye contact with me.
"It's easy for me because I've been taught this since I was little. Werewolf politics. Something my mom taught me and my siblings since we could understand the topic." I explained.
"Something I would have learned if I was raised with a pack." Nik said bitterly. My heart broke hearing him. He resented his mother for keeping the secret of his biological father from him.
I leaned forward and placed my hand on his forearm. He looked down at my hand then at me.
"That's why there's an alpha male and an alpha female. If one thing the male isn't good at the female is, and vise versa. I'm good at werewolf politics but I'm not good at being strict on my pack like I should be. In fact, I'm way too lenient to the point my pack can fall out of line if I'm not careful. You, however, are strict and expect the members of the pack to know their place and not to forget it. We're a team, Nik." I assured him.
He placed his other hand on top of mine, "Thank you." I was a bit taken aback by that.
"For what?" I asked.
Nik gave a small smile, "For just being you, love." I was going to ask him what he meant by that, but the waitress interrupted by dropping off the dessert in a to-go container.
"Let's head home so we can get ready." Nik said and stood up from his seat. He took out his wallet and put enough cash on the table to cover the bill and tip.
I walked into Mystic Falls High School gym with my arm around Nik's. He wore a white suite with a handkerchief in his breast pocket. I was in a dark blue flapper dress, black high heels, and a silver headband with one long black feather attached to it.
Music was already playing and everyone was dancing to it. I scanned my eyes for Rebekah but didn't see her. Strange.
"Come on, love. Dance with me." I heard Nik say in my ear.
"I don't even know how to dance like you would in the 20's." I said unsure of myself.
"I'll teach you." Is all he said and dragged me to the dance floor. He interlocked our fingers and he led me into the rhythm of the music.
"I feel ridiculous right now." I said embarrassed.
"Nonsense, you're dancing like a real flapper did." Nik assured me. He then twirled me out and when he brought me back to him. He lifted me up and spun around before he placed my feet back on the ground. I couldn't help but laugh and smile after that move.
The fast pace music then changed to a slow song. Nik took my left hand and put his right on my waist and I placed my right on his shoulder.
"You need to be more confident in yourself, love." He said as we gently swayed.
"I am confident just not in my dancing skills." I corrected him.
"You're better than you think." Nik countered. We continued to sway until something caught Nik's attention.
I followed his gaze and saw Tyler and Caroline slow dancing together. When did Tyler get back? Tyler must have sensed something since he stopped dancing and looked over at Nik.
Nik stopped dancing and let go of me and stalked towards Tyler. Oh no. I followed behind Nik and watched Tyler tense up as Nik stopped in front of Tyler and Caroline.
"Where've you been, mate?" Nik asked, an edge to his voice.
"I just got back into town." Tyler answered. You could feel the tension between the two. Tyler left without saying a word to Nik a couple of weeks ago. Nik obviously wasn't too thrilled about that.
Nik gave Tyler a hard stare before saying, "Next time you decide to take a trip out of town. At least have the courtesy to let me know." Both Tyler and I looked at Nik in shock.
"Uh, yeah. Okay." Tyler said in shock.
Nik gave a tight lip smile, "Glad to hear it. Enjoy the dance." His eyes made contact with Caroline's equally shocked ones, "Caroline." He acknowledged with a nod.
Nik took my hand and led me away from them. We began where we left off. I just stared at Nik with a proud smile on my face.
"What?" He asked, noticing my staring.
"Nothing, just...really impressed." Nik gave me a smile in return.
"Taking your advice, love." Nik said and looked around the gym, "Have you seen Rebekah at all tonight?" He asked, changing the subject.
"No, I haven't. I'm starting to get concerned. There's no way she'd miss this."
"I'm thinking the same. Come on, I need to make a quick phone call." Nik and I left the dance floor and headed to the exit of the gym.
As we left the school and away from all the noise; Nik took out his phone and called Rebekah's cell. I heard the phone go straight to voicemail. That's even more alarming.
"Rebekah, where are you? We only came to this dance because you begged us to and you're nowhere to be found. Call me back, now." Nik left the voice mail.
I stopped seeing salt on the ground, "Nik." He looked at me hearing his name. I gestured to the salt.
"What is this?" He pondered out loud.
"Your mother is back." Nik and I turned around to see Stefan. Nik went tense and my eyes glowed red. So she finally decided to show her face again.
I was now in one of the classrooms with Nik, Stefan, Damon, Jeremy, Megan, and Bonnie's date.
"She does this all the time, right?" Her date asked. He stared at Bonnie as she chanted in Latin with burning candles around her.
I raised an eyebrow at that, "New to this?" He nodded.
"This is as normal as it gets for a witch." I assured him.
"Boundary spells normally don't take this long to break." Nik said impatiently.
Bonnie stopped chanting and glared at Nik. The door to the classroom suddenly opened and Matt walked in.
"People are walking right out of the dance, past the barrier." He reported.
"Then that means only humans can get through. The barrier spell is meant to keep supernatural beings in." I stated. This sounded just like mountain ash.
"Matt and I can leave, we can stop Esther ourselves. We just gotta find out where she is." Jeremy volunteered.
"That's suicide, Jeremy." Stefan argued.
"Or." We all stopped to look at Damon who had a smirk on his face, "We test to see if the one person in this room with a ring that repels witchcraft can get through." Damon said and looked at me.
"That might work." Bonnie agreed.
"No." Nik said with a firm voice and glared at Damon.
"No? What other options do we have? Bonnie can't break the barrier. Allye is our loophole. The magic of the barrier won't affect her." Damon argued, standing up as the two of them glared daggers at the other.
"Esther will kill her." Nik argued.
"Seriously, you're playing the protective boyfriend right now? You and I both know she can take care of herself." The two took a step closer to the point Stefan put himself between them to break them up.
I had enough of this, "Enough!" I yelled, causing both of them to look at me.
"Matt, Jer grab your weapons. I'll meet you out front." Both of them nodded and walked out of the classroom.
"You are not going out there." Nik ordered, anger in his voice.
"Yes, I am. I know you're worried because I'm not immortal but that has never stopped me before. It's the survival of the fittest in the Werewolf world. I wouldn't be standing here today if I wasn't strong." Nik went silent but I could tell he still didn't like this plan.
"I have spare clothes in my locker. I'll go grab them for you." Megan told and walked out of the classroom.
I changed into the clothes Megan had which were just jeans, tennis shoes and a white tank top. We were all standing by the edge of the barrier. Matt and Jeremy were already on the other side with a rifle and a crossbow at hand.
"Moment of truth. Try crossing." Bonnie instructed. I hesitantly lifted my hand that had the ring on it. I reached my hand out and it went straight through. I then took my left leg and stepped over the barrier with no issues.
"All right, tweedle dee and tweedle dumb. Follow her. Her nose will lead you guys straight to Elena. And don't do anything stupid, you two are humans, she's not. If it starts getting tough let her fight, not you two." Damon instructed Matt and Jeremy.
Jeremy nodded, "Lead the way, Al."
"Be careful, love." Nik said before I could turn around.
I nodded, "I will. Let's go, you two. Try to keep up." I told Jeremy and Matt and sprinted off, following Elena's scent.
No One's P.O.V
Bonnie, Damon, Stefan, Klaus, and Megan watched as Allye, Jeremy, and Matt disappeared into the tree line of the forest.
"Gotta admit. Feels nice to have Allye back to do her tracking skills." Damon commented with a smirk on his face.
"Don't get use to it, mate. We're leaving Mystic Falls soon." Klaus retorted coldly.
"Good. You'll be out of our hair then." Damon said with a tight lip smile.
"Damon, you really think he would leave without Elena? He needs her to make more of his hybrids." Stefan retorted, looking at his brother.
"Ooh, then we have a problem." Damon stated and wiggled his eyebrows.
"And you two are good for her? Tell me, has she chosen yet? Or is she still teetering between you two? Stefan was her date tonight, not you Damon. Then Elena accompanied Damon to Colorado and that's assuming something more than just finding your sire line happened." Klaus antagonized with a smirk on his face. Damon and Stefan said nothing and the two of them didn't look each other in the eye.
Klaus' smirk widened as this, "It seems the unshakeable bond of the Salvatore Brothers is beginning to waiver."
"You're not the one to really talk about relationship woes right now, Klaus." Damon fired back and Klaus lost his smirk.
Damon continued, "You're so protective over Allye that you're suffocating her. Newsflash Klaus, you're dating a badass Werewolf that does whatever the hell she wants. That's what makes Allye, Allye. You'll end up pushing her away like I did, and trust me when I say that'll be the biggest mistake of your long eternal life." Damon finished his rant and walked away from the group. Stefan followed after his brother. Bonnie and Megan also took this as a cue to leave as well. Leaving only Klaus now in silence as he took in what Damon told him.
Allye's P.O.V
I came upon the Salvatore Family Crypt with Jeremy and Matt behind me. I held a finger up to my lips telling them to be quiet. They both nodded.
I stood up and walked forward, "Esther! I know you're in there with Elena! Come out, now!" I yelled, already partially shifted and ready for a fight.
Esther calmly walked out of the crypt and stopped just outside. Elena followed out behind her.
"Allye. How did you get past the barrier?" Esther asked curiously.
I held up my hand with the ring on it, "That ring is quite a nuisance. But you've come alone, which is a mistake." I waved my hand forward and both Jeremy and Matt came out of their hiding spots with weapons aiming at Esther.
"Jeremy, Matt!" Elena yelled seeing the two of them.
"Let Elena go." Jeremy demanded, keeping the crossbow aimed at Esther.
"How foolish of you two. To risk your lives in defense of those who will kill you. But if that is your choice. My magic may not work on you Allye," Esther held up her hands and both Matt and Jeremy turned their weapons towards me. "But it will work on the humans."
"Matt! Matt, drop your gun!" Jeremy yelled.
"I can't! I'm not controlling it!" Matt yelled back.
"You have two options Allye. You have fast enough reflexes to dodge the arrow and bullet, but they don't. Will it be your life, or theirs?" Esther asked. I let out a growl as anger surged through me. I couldn't let them get hurt but at the same time both weapons are aiming where my heart is. I'm at a stalemate.
"Esther stop!" Elena pleaded with her.
I saw Ric come from the crypt and stabbed Esther in the back with something I couldn't see. Esther gasped and with a twist of the weapon, she fell to the ground dead.
Matt and Jeremy let out a sigh of relief and lowered their weapons. Ric put the weapon in his back pocket and looked at Elena then at his hand, "Oh my god. Where's my ring? Tell me what happened?" So we have normal Ric with us not his alter ego.
"I'll explain everything later, promise." Elena told Ric and eyed me. They know something I don't and they're keeping it that way.
I felt wind hit my side and Nik's scent hit my nose. I turned my head to see him as he walked over to Esther's body. Ric and Elena backed up as he got closer.
"What happened?" Nik asked, looking at Elena specifically for answers.
"Esther tried to turn Ric into a weapon to use against you, but it failed." Elena answered.
Nik turned his head to me, "Is she telling the truth, love?" He asked.
I eyed Elena and she swallowed thickly. I didn't hear her heartbeat spike when she said it, so, "Yes." I answered and I could feel that Elena was relieved.
Nik said nothing and fished out his car keys from his pocket. He tossed them to me, "Take the car back, love. I'll take Esther's body back home." I nodded. Nik picked up his mother's body and used his vampire speed to vanish.
I turned to walk away, "Wait!" I stopped and turned my head to face Jeremy.
"Thank you, Allye. For helping us find Elena." Jeremy thanked me.
"You're welcome." I answered and headed back to the school.
I pulled up Nik's SUV up to the driveway of the mansion. I put the vehicle into park and took the keys out of the ignition. I grabbed the dress and headband that sat on the passenger seat before exiting the car.
I walked through the front door and immediately headed for the stairs. I headed into the bedroom and dropped off the keys and threw the dress onto the chair at the corner of the room. I changed out of Megan's clothes and put on a baggy shirt and shorts that I normally use to sleep in.
Nik hadn't greeted me yet but then again I don't even smell him here right now. I wonder where he went. I heard a knock on the open door behind me.
I turned around and saw Rebekah, "Hey, sorry you missed the dance." Rebekah let out a sigh.
"My luck with school dances continues to be non-existent." She commented.
"Do you know where Nik went? He left earlier and had Esther's body with him." Rebekah nodded.
"He left a little while ago. He went to bury her coffin." She answered.
"In case she comes back from the dead a second time?" I joked and Rebekah shrugged.
"With our luck, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm turning in for the night. Just wanted a quick chat." Rebekah said.
"Night." Rebekah then left and headed for her bedroom.
Looks like I have some time to kill before Nik gets back. I headed back down stairs and towards the kitchen. I opened the fridge and grabbed a soda can from in it.
I opened the can as I headed to Nik's art studio. I went to grab the book I was reading this morning but stopped when I looked at the painting Nik was working on this morning. I set my soda on the end table next to the book and walked closer to the painting.
The painting was abstract with only yellow and black for the colors. The black stood out more to me though. Laura use to be an art enthusiast. I still remember when she took me to an art gallery in New York. I wasn't too interested in looking at any of the art but Laura did. I remember she told me you can tell what a painter was feeling by looking at their brush strokes and color choice. It made me wonder what was going on in Nik's head when he painted this.
"What do you see?" I heard Nik's voice from behind me.
"Nothing really. I wasn't the art enthusiast in my family." I answered.
"If it was nothing then you wouldn't be staring at it like you are right now." Nik countered. I heard his footsteps until he stood next to me. He hadn't bothered to change. He was still in his 20's suit.
"I guess the black stands out more to me." I said shrugging. Nik looked intrigued about that.
"Does it remind you of something?" He pressed me further.
"The dark times of my life." I saw a smile form on Nik's face.
"It seems to me you understand the painting just fine." I looked at Nik confused.
"What do you mean?"
"The black represents my dark times and all the bad I have done in my long life." Dang. I'm kind of impressed with myself now. I got it on the nose.
"What about the yellow?" I asked.
"The light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. It's only recently started hence why there's not as much yellow." Nik answered and didn't break his gaze from the painting.
"What's your metaphorical light then?" I asked, wanting to know more.
Nik gave a soft smile and turned to me, "You, love. You're the light at the end of my tunnel." I could feel my face flush at his words.
"Which reminds me, I need to talk to you." Nik changed the subject and grew more serious.
"It's about tonight, isn't it?" I guessed. He got angry at me at the school earlier.
"It is." I let out a breath. Here comes the lecture.
"I'm sorry." I looked at Nik in bewilderment. He's apologizing? For what?!
"Uh...why are you apologizing?" I asked in complete confusion.
"I'm sorry for being so protective over you as of late. Damon had said some things that struck a chord with me tonight." I let out a groan hearing Damon's name.
"He probably just said it to get under your skin. You know how Damon is." I assured Nik but he shook his head.
"No, he had a point. He said that I'm suffocating you by being so protective and not letting you be you. It would lead me to pushing you away for good. I waited over a thousand years for someone like you to appear in my life. I act protective because I'm selfish and I don't want to lose you." Nik answered honestly.
"Nik, you could never push me away. You can try but I'll always be back. As for the protectiveness, you could dial it back a bit. Don't get me wrong though. I find it very sexy when you get protective." Nik gave me a suggestive smirk.
"Really?" He said pleasantly surprised.
"Really." I confirmed.
"In that case." I let out a high pitch squeak as I was suddenly picked up bridal style by Nik. He twirled us around as he picked me up.
"I need to keep you close to me." He said and locked eyes with me. I put my arms around his neck.
"And don't let me go." I added. I rested my head at the crook of his neck.
"I would never dream of it." Nik whispered, "Hang on, love." I tightened my hold around his neck and closed my eyes as I felt him use his vampire speed.
I didn't open my eyes until I no longer felt movement. Nik had moved us to the upstairs balcony. He set me back down on the ground. My bare feet met the cool floor of the balcony.
"Why'd you bring me out here?" I asked, curious. I walked up to the concrete railing of the balcony.
"I had this house built where my home use to be a thousand years ago. There were nights I would run away to get away from Mikael. I would always gaze at these stars for a sense of comfort." Nik said. I looked up at the night sky and at the stars that showed.
I felt Nik wrap his arms around me and pulled me to him, "Every time I would see a shooting star. I would wish to have someone by my side that understood me and would watch the stars with me." I leaned against Nik and craned my neck to look at him.
"You keep mentioning finding someone like me and how you waited a thousand years for it. What do you mean by that?" I pressed, wanting to know more.
Nik looked down at me, "To feel loved by someone else. To be wanted."
Nothing more was said between us as Nik leaned down and captured me in a deep and slow kiss. I put my left hand at the back of his neck to bring him closer.
After a few more seconds of passionate kissing we broke the kiss. My eyes shifted back to the night sky seeing something. I let out a smile seeing a shooting star cross the sky.
"Shooting star." I stated obviously, "What would you wish for now?" I asked Nik.
"To spend eternity with you." I let out a small laugh.
"You can get so romantic cheesy sometimes." Nik gave a chuckle of his own.
"What can I say? You bring it out of me. Now, let's get to bed. It's getting late and we need to get ready to leave tomorrow." Nik advised. He took my hand in his and led me back inside of the mansion.
Allye and Klaus are getting ready to leave Mystic Falls and make a trip to Beacon Hills of all places. Damon reveals that he regrets pushing Allye away and warns Klaus not to make the same mistake he did. We also get to see a big change in Klaus' personality. He lets Tyler off with just a warning, taking Allye's advice to heart. He wants to earn true loyalty from his Hybrids. He's not exactly the best at it, but he's trying. Further good news. I have officially finished writing the entirety of Alpha in Mystic Falls. I have all the chapters ready to go. I'm now starting on the next segment of the story following The Originals. I'm excited to get to the point to where all of you can read it.
