I ripped open a bag of ice and dumped into the cooler that had water bottles in it. Nik recruited all of his hybrids to help pack, so I headed into town and got some refreshments.

"That cold?" I turned my head to see Tyler walking over.

"Semi." I said and tossed one at him. He caught it with ease.

"Thanks. I'll let the others know we now have refreshments while we pack the entirety of this house." I gave Tyler a look.

"Trying to be thoughtful here by doing this, you jerk. Besides I'm helping with this moving thing too." I told him.

"Hey by the way, what was that at the dance last night?" Tyler asked, lowering his voice. I instantly knew what he was referring to.

"We had a conversation last night about earning a pack's loyalty and not expecting it to be automatic. Like with a sire bond for example." I told him. I walked over to some boxes that were already sealed up.

"You really think he can earn it after everything he's had us do that we didn't like?" Tyler commented and gave me a hard stare.

"If you give me a second chance you might just be surprised, mate." Tyler and I both turned to hear Nik's voice. He stood under the frame entering the room with his hands behind his back.

"And packing up your house for you is the start of your second chance?" Tyler asked in disbelief.

Nik frowned at him, "Lose the attitude. I am trying to earn the loyalty of my hybrids but I am still the alpha and I will not be talked to like that." Nik said firmly and walked closer to Tyler.

"Hey Ty, go ahead and finish up stairs. I'll load all this up to the truck." I told Tyler.

Tyler glared at Nik for a little longer before answering, "Sure thing, Al. Thanks again for the water." He said and turned around and headed for the stairs.

"See what I mean now?" Nik said gesturing to me then where Tyler went.

"See what?" I asked, not following. I picked up two boxes stacked up on each other.

Nik gave me a look, "He listened to you without hesitation." He then saw the cooler filled with water, "When did you do this?" He asked, pointing at it.

"One, I've known Tyler since he was a kid and I've basically taken him under my wing after his uncle died. Two, the water was just me being nice and I got it first thing this morning. They may be hybrids but fall hasn't started yet and it's still pretty warm and humid."

"You're one upping me, you know this right?" I gave him a grin.

"I see it more as I'm the fun alpha and you're the strict one." I could see Nik visibly roll his eyes at me.

"I'm going to get all of this in the truck." I said laughing and headed for the outside of the mansion.

I walked outside and dropped the two boxes into the open bed of the moving truck in front of the mansion.

"Allye." I turned around hearing my name. Rebekah stood there and she looked frightened.

"Rebekah, what's wrong? I thought you were at the school cleaning up?" Rebekah shook her head.

"I was until Alaric Saltzman tried to kill me." I froze. Ric is supposed to be dead.

"He's supposed to be dead." I stated.

"Well, he's not and he's a vampire thanks to mother's spell with a white oak stake that can't kill him." My eyes widen. That must be the weapon they hid from me last night!

"Where's Nik? I need to tell him too." Rebekah asked me.

"Right here, sister." Nik said as he walked out onto the porch of the mansion, "Where is he now?" Nik asked.

"He's stuck at the school without a daylight ring, but as soon as night falls he'll come after us. We need to leave. He's too strong. I was barely able to get away from him." Rebekah stated.

"Fine. I'll collect Elena then we'll be on our way." Rebekah looked at Nik in disbelief.

"Forget Elena! You don't need any more stupid hybrids!" Nik's jaw clenched and stared hard at Rebekah.

"Rebekah, we need at least one pint of her blood." I tried to reason with her. I know why Nik needs to get her blood. It's to save it for me three years down the road.

Rebekah looked shocked at me, "You too? I don't believe this. Nik has you and me. The three of us are enough to protect each other. Always and forever, Nik." Rebekah said and looked at her brother.

"I'm not leaving without her blood." Nik said with a stern voice.

Rebekah scoffed, "I'm leaving now. You two can either come with me or be left to your own devices without me." Nik and I didn't say anything and I could feel the anger radiate off of her.

"Fine. Trust your hybrids over your family. Let your spite, Nik, be the death of both of you. See if I care." Rebekah disappeared in a flash after that.

"You didn't tell her?" I asked Nik softly.

"Never had the chance and now she's all riled up, she won't listen to me anyway. Let's go, love. The sooner we get Elena's blood the sooner we can leave and escape the latest vampire hunter." Nik walked down the stairs and grabbed his car keys from his pocket.

Nik and I arrived at the Gilbert house. Nik went to knock on the front door while I went to the side of the house. Nik can't get in, but I can. So he's playing distraction while I scale the side of the house. I waited until I heard the front door open.

"What the hell do you want?" I heard Jeremy talk. My eyes glowed red as I leapt off the ground and grabbed hold on a pipe going down the side of the house. I then jumped off that and grabbed hold of the ledge by the window.

I could hear Nik now talking to Damon and Stefan. I could hear footsteps and Jeremy coming up the stairs. I used that sound to open the window to Elena's room. I quietly pulled myself into the room sniffing for Elena's scent and to listen for her. I frowned when Elena's scent was trailing outside of the house and towards...shit. The school!

I stood up straight and walked out of Elena's room and stopped at the top of the staircase. Stefan and Damon had their backs towards me with the door still open and talking to Nik.

"You two are lousy bodyguards." Stefan and Damon spun around hearing my voice behind them.

"You've got to be kidding me. He was a distraction?" Damon said and turned his head back to Nik who was smirking at him.

"We've got a bigger problem. Elena's gone." Stefan and Damon looked at me in alarm.

"What do you mean by gone?" Stefan asked with a serious tone in his voice.

"I mean, her scent trails out of this house and straight to the school's direction. Where a certain vampire hunter with a white oak stake is currently hiding out in." I said and crossed my arms over my chest.

"She what?!" Damon exclaimed in anger.

"Well, it sounds like we're going to need to make a truce." Nik said, looking at the Salvatore brothers. Stefan's phone started to ring. He pulled it out of his pocket and went tense.

"It's Alaric." He walked away towards the kitchen to answer it.

"How did you even get in?" Damon asked and watched me as I descended the stairs.

"I scaled the side of the house and went through Elena's bedroom window." I answered with a smirk.

"Remind me to werewolf proof the house next time." Damon muttered under his breath.

"Well it also helps that Jeremy basically stomps his feet when going up the stairs. You guys didn't hear me open the window or step into the house." Damon rolled his eyes at that.

Stefan then walked back to us from the kitchen, "Well Alaric just confirmed what Allye said. He has Elena and Caroline at the school. He is going to kill them both unless Klaus here turns himself over." Stefan stated.

"Like hell that's going to happen." I warned both of them and stepped in between Nik and the Salvatore brothers.

"As much as we would like to, there's a one in four chance that we die too if Alaric kills Klaus." I need some insurance, I didn't feel like being double crossed by the brothers.

"Not a one in four chance. A hundred percent chance that you two die. Nik sired Mary Porter. He dies, you both die." Damon and Stefan gave me a hard stare.

"That's awfully convenient for you to say that considering our circumstances. You would say anything if it meant Klaus lives." Damon said and eyed me suspiciously.

"You're just gonna have to take my word on it." I told Damon.

"True or not, we still need to figure out a way to put down Alaric." Stefan pipped in.

"How about Damon sneaks in and distracts Alaric, while Stefan grabs Elena and carries her to safety?" Nik offered a plan with a smirk on his face.

"Huh, that's a great idea. What's to stop me from getting killed instantly?" Damon asked with a tight smile.

"Nothing." Nik said, giving his own tight smile to Damon.

"This isn't helping." Stefan retorted.

"I might have an idea." Bonnie said as she approached us from the kitchen, "My mom used a desiccation spell on Mikael that immobilized him for over fifteen years. If I can get it, I might be able to use it on Alaric." Bonnie stated.

"If and might? Your words inspire such confidence." Nik said sarcastically.

"I'll get it. But even with the spell, we'll need a lot of vampire muscle to take him down. Including yours." Bonnie said looking at Nik.

"Not just vampire muscle. Werewolf muscle too but not a partial shift, a full shift." Stefan hinted towards me.

I nodded in agreement, "I'll go in as a wolf then." Damon rolled his eyes.

"Great, that means we won't be able to understand your barks and growls." I let out a smirk.

"You don't have to. Nik can. Wolves can communicate through thoughts with their pack members." I explained.

"Just so we're clear, the sun sets in about eight hours. If we don't succeed before then, Elena will be dead, Allye and I will be gone, and the rest of you will be left to fend for yourselves." Nik told the brothers and Bonnie.

"All right. Bon-bon you call your mom and have her meet us at the boarding house. Klaus, Stefan, and Allye will scope out the school." Damon said and walked out of the house, brushed past Nik and headed to his car.

"I'll let you know as soon as she's here." Bonnie told Stefan and followed Damon.

"I'll be right back." I said and headed for the bathroom.

"Why?" Stefan asked.

"You do realize I rip all of my clothes off when I fully shift. I'm going to the bathroom to remove said clothes then shift." I said as I turned around and walked backwards.

"Sure, the townspeople won't mind seeing a wolf walking down main street." Stefan said sarcastically.

"Backwoods!" I yelled out as I turned the corner.

I ran along just through the tree lining of the forest as Nik was driving his car with Stefan in the passenger seat. Once we were past the town and towards the vacant school, thanks to it being Saturday, I moved towards the street and continued running.

I only started to slow down once Nik slowed down the car to park it. I walked over the curb and my paws met the grass that grew along the school. I sat down as Stefan and Nik got out of his car. Stefan stopped looking at me.

"This is just weird. Looking at wolf form you." I let out a grunt and turned my head away from him.

Stefan turned to Nik, "Did she say anything to you?"

Nik shook his head, "No, but I think we both get what she meant by that." Nik said, smirking. He leaned against the hood of his car. Stefan's phone went off. He took it out and read a text on his phone.

"Abby just showed up." Stefan said as he put his phone away. He too leaned against the front of Nik's car. Well if we're relaxing. I laid down and rested my head on top of my paws.

"Good. Perhaps this plan won't be an epic failure after all. You know, if this does go off and we drop the history teacher in the Atlantic, I still need Elena." Nik said honestly.

Stefan gave Nik a curious look, "I thought you were going to take Elena with you?" Nik shrugged.

"I honestly only need about a pint of her blood then we'll be on our way." Now Stefan was very intrigued and fully turned to Nik.

"I thought you were going to create an army? A pint of blood isn't going to create that many hybrids." Stefan stated.

'Just tell him.' Nik looked at me after hearing my voice in his head. Stefan paused and looked at me then back to Nik.

"She said something to you." Stefan stated the obvious, "What is it?" He pressed for more information.

Nik huffed, "I only need one pint because I only plan on making one more hybrid."

Stefan was confused at first but realization hit him and his eyes widened. He looked over at me.

"Allye. You're going to turn Allye." Stefan said and looked back at Nik.

"Werewolves can live longer than humans but they can still die of old age. Call me selfish but I just found Allye and I don't plan on only having her in my life for only one or two lifetimes. I want her by my side for eternity." Nik honestly told Stefan.

"And she's okay with becoming part vampire?" Stefan asked with a raised eyebrow.

"It was her decision, but I still have to wait three more years. Allye wants to spend more time just as a wolf. That pint of blood will be kept around until that day comes." Stefan nodded.

"How do I know you won't stop by Mystic Falls one day and take Elena?" Stefan asked, not buying what Nik was saying.

"Because by the time Allye is a hybrid, I'll have everything I ever wanted. A pack, a family, loyalty, and my mate." Nik told him truthfully.

"Got it all planned out, huh?" Nik let out a light laugh.

"It's a work in progress." Stefan let out a scoff.

"No offense, Klaus. But huh, you don't seem like the settling down type of guy." Stefan argued.

"And I would have agreed with you months ago. However, things can change when you're with the right person." I lifted my head up as Nik looked at me with his signature dimple smile.

'You never told me this.' I told him in complete surprise.

'I plan on building a life with you, love.' I heard Nik's voice echo in my head.

I was taken aback by that. Like Stefan, I never took Nik the type of person to want to settle down. Stefan's ring tone going off snapped me out of my thoughts.

"It's Damon. I'll be back." Stefan walked off and answered his phone.

'So when were you planning on telling me that you wanted to settle down?' I stood back up on my paws.

'I was going to tell you when we were on the road.' Nik pushed off the hood of his car and walked over to me. He kneeled down to my level and placed a hand on my head.

"We'll go wherever you want and set down roots where you want." He said out loud.

"Bonnie knows how to do the spell now." Stefan said as he walked back over to us.

Nik stood back up, "Excellent. The sooner this is done the better."

"There's a catch apparently to desiccating a vampire. Bonnie has to stop a human heart. Jeremy should be here soon." Stefan informed us.

'Sure, send the other human that has a ring that'll make him go crazy too when he keeps dying!'

"Is having another human with the same ring that did this to Alaric Saltzman really the smartest one to do the spell with?" Nik told Stefan in his own words.

"He's only died once with the ring on him. Ric died many more times before this started to happen."

'Better hope Bonnie knows CPR.'

I trotted alongside Nik and Stefan as we came up by Damon, Bonnie, and Jeremy at the back of the school.

"That's what I forgot. Dog treats." Damon joked as he smirked at me.

I bared my teeth and growled at him 'Fuck off'. Nik stifled a laugh and had a large grin on his face.

"What'd she say?" Damon asked, curious now.

"I'm not repeating that, but it is very amusing." Nik said, smirking at Damon.

"Something mean and crude then." Damon said and gave me a look.

Bonnie pulled out a small vial filled with blood. "Drink this. It's my blood. It bridges us all together so that when I stop Jeremy's heart, you'll have the power to stop Alaric's. You need to make a physical connection to his bloodstream; a vein, artery, something connected to his heart." Bonnie said and passed the vial to Damon.

"Great, that means someone here can use their teeth since they don't currently have opposable thumbs to go for the heart directly." Damon said and took a drink of the blood. He handed it off to Stefan.

"Best option is to have Allye pin down Ric like she did with Mikael. One of us goes for the shot and the other two help her hold him down." Stefan said as he took a swig from it. He handed it off to Nik and he too took a swig.

"Oh I want to see how Fido's going to do this." Damon said, smirking.

Bonnie rolled her eyes, "You're such a jerk, Damon." Bonnie walked over to Nik and grabbed the vial from him. She poured the remaining blood into the palm of her hand and held it down to me.

I licked the blood off of her palm. Good thing I'm in my full shift considering blood doesn't taste bad like it does in my partial shift.

Damon grimaced, "Gross." Bonnie gave him a look and wiped off her hand on her jeans.

"Let's get this over with, shall we?" Stefan said headed off to the school. Damon, Nik, and I followed close behind.

Nik and I separated from Damon and Stefan to cover more ground. I was silently stalking and had my nose up in the air, tracking Ric's scent.

I heard running footsteps approaching us. I perked my head seeing Caroline turn from the corner. She looked behind her as she ran before coming to a slow stop. I let out a low wine, causing Caroline to look over.

Caroline was about to speak but Nik sped to her and put his hand over her mouth.

"Shh. You're safe now. We'll save Elena. Go straight home and stay inside. Understand?" Nik whispered quietly. He removed his hand from her mouth and Caroline nodded. She took one last look at me before vamping off.

"Do it! Kill me!" Nik and I both looked at the direction we heard Elena's voice.

Nik sped off ahead of me and ran down the hallway in the direction I heard Elena's voice.

As I rounded the corner, I could see Damon and Stefan on the floor motionless. Their necks are probably broken. So much for Stefan's original plan. I saw as Rik took Nik's hand out of his chest.

I heard Nik yell in pain and heard the sound of his wrist breaking before Ric threw Nik.

I let out a snarl and charged at Ric. Ric turned around in time and put his arm up as I jumped. I clamped my jaw around his forearm. The force of throwing my body at Ric caused him to fall flat on his back. I could feel and hear the crunching sound his bones made as I crushed them with my bite.

Ric yelled in pain. He glared at me and I felt his boot connect to my underside. I let out a yelp as I got launched away from him. I skidded against the tile. I watched in horror as Ric got up and used his good arm to throw Nik against the lockers. He took the white oak stake out from his pocket and tried to plunge it in Nik's chest. Nik put both hands against Ric's wrist to stop him.

I scrambled up to my paws ready to charge again but Elena stood in front of me with a knife in her hand.

"Stop!" Elena demanded. She held the knife up to her throat, "Let him go or I'll kill myself." I titled my head hearing that threat. Why would she threaten that?

"Put it down, Elena." Ric ordered.

"Why? Because you still need me alive? There's a reason why Esther used me to make you, isn't there? She didn't want you to be immortal, so she tied your life to a human one. Mine. That way you have only one life span to kill all vampires and then you'll be gone. So, when I die, you die too. That's it, it has to be!" My ears perked hearing that.

'Get ready to run, love.' I heard Nik's voice in my head. He has a plan.

"You're wrong." I heard his heart beat spike. He lied. Elena's right. Her life is tied to his. She dies, he dies.

"Am I?" Elena started to cut her throat.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!" Ric yelled frantically. Nik took this chance and threw Ric off of him. I sprinted down the hall and felt wind pass me, signaling to me Nik already grabbed Elena and got out.

I ran through the exit of the school and into the sunlight where Ric couldn't get out to reach me. I didn't see Nik anywhere and his car was still here. He must have just headed straight to the mansion. I'm not sure what his plan is with Elena now. The sooner I get back to the Gilbert house and get my clothes the better.

The sun was starting to set when I finally made it back to the mansion. I paused as I saw the front door was wide open.

I walked in and frowned at how eerily quiet it was. "Nik?" I called out. No response.

I walked towards his art studio. I stopped at the doorway and looked at the crates that held paintings. I noticed the cooler from this morning sitting on one of the crates. I walked over to the cooler and saw filled blood bags, at least three of them on top of ice.

These have to be filled with Elena's blood. We only needed one pint. Unless Nik was going to drain her of blood to kill her and Alaric.

"Nik!" I now yelled out and walked out of the studio. I checked every room in the mansion calling for Nik. It wasn't until I walked into the study. I froze seeing what looked like a fight happened.

"No. No, no, no, no!" I yelled and punched the adjacent wall to me. My eyes glowed red as I grew furious.

Damon and Stefan used the desiccation spell on Nik! I pulled out my phone and immediately dialed the first person I could think of.

After a couple of rings, they answered. "Elijah. We have a problem."

More changes are starting to show in Klaus. Now that he has met Allye and wants to be with her forever. He wants to live as normal as a life as they can by settling down somewhere of her choosing. However, plans can suddenly change. Such as Allye and Klaus being double crossed by the Salvatore's. Allye is not happy of this discovery and called for back-up.
