I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. I opened my eyes and quickly shut them due to the bright light of the sun hitting me. My eyes adjusted the brightness. I slowly leaned on my arms and looked around. I was in the middle of a forest that I didn't recognize.
"Rise and shine, sunshine." I turned around to see Callista who was holding spare clothing.
"How long was I a wolf?" I asked as Callista threw me the clothes.
"Two days and one night. Tomorrows the full moon, if that's any indication." I finished dressing myself.
"That long?" I said surprised.
Callista shrugged, "It was shorter than mine. I was a wolf for a full five days after the spell was performed on me. I can't really explain the length of time. You might want these back though." Callista held out my ring and phone.
"Forgive me for snooping but your phone is filled with missed calls and texts." I raised an eyebrow at that and took my ring first then my phone.
"I kind of left without a word to anyone. They're probably worried." I said and opened my phone. I pursed my lips seeing the sheer number of missed calls, voice mails, and texts.
"Now, before we part ways, remember what I told you. You may be an Original Werewolf and you are technically immortal but there is a way you can die." I nodded.
"I know. A silver blade coated in wolfsbane. Now I know where the silver myth came from." I said chuckling.
Callista gave a small laugh, "You can thank the silver chalice for that. I didn't tell you everything about being an Original Werewolf. Only the important information. It would take all the fun out of figuring it out for yourself." Callista said and winked at me.
"Thank you again, Callista. You didn't have to do any of this but you did." Callista gave a smile.
"You're welcome. I take care of my own. Even though it's very distant, we're related. You know how to find me if you ever need my help again."
Callista gave me a hug which I returned. She let go and stuffed her hands in her denim jacket as she walked off. I turned my attention to my phone and unlocked the screen.
5 missed calls from Derek, 6 from Cora, 3 from Megan, and...1 from Nik. I went to my voicemails and skipped them until I got to Niks.
"Allye, love. I know I'm the last person you want to hear from right now. I'm sorry for what I said to you. I have no excuses for the way I acted. Please love, come home. It's not the same without you."
I bit my lip, I'd be lying to myself if I said I didn't miss him. My finger hovered over the call back button. I took a deep breath and pressed it. I held my phone to my ear as it rang.
Elsewhere…
Tyler walked down the stairs hearing a phone going off. He had left Caroline in front of Klaus not moments before. On the ground in front of the door was a cellphone going off.
"That would be mine. Why don't you bring it over here?" Klaus spoke up from behind Tyler.
"Nice try, but that's not happening. Must have dropped it when Bonnie dropped you with her magic." Tyler looked at the caller id and his face turned serious.
He looked Klaus in the eyes before answering.
"Hey Al." Klaus' eyes widen hearing Tyler call Allye by her nickname. She called him.
With Allye
"Ty? Why do you have Nik's phone?" I was confused and taken back hearing Tyler's voice.
"Klaus is currently being held in Elena's living room. Bonnie spelled it so he couldn't leave. He's stuck here until the full moon. Oh and he bit Caroline, thought you should know that."
"He did what?!" I said harshly into the phone.
"Yeah, you missed a lot. Kol's dead too." That explains the bite now. Nik lashed out.
"Put Nik on the phone, Ty." I demanded as I started to walk in the direction of Mystic Falls.
"No, I don't think I will. Everyone else left to get the cure. They'll bring it back and I will shove the cure down Klaus' throat. He took away everything I loved, now I'm going to do the same to you."
Callista's words echoed in my head. There's only one dose of the cure. I let out a smirk. They don't know. I let out a laugh.
"That's an empty threat. You guys don't know, do you?" I asked.
"Know what?" Tyler demanded.
"That's for me to know and for you to find out. I'm heading back into town and Ty," I stopped walking and my eyes glowed red, "You're going to pay for that little stunt you pulled on me." I hung up the phone and continued walking.
"Okay, let's see what's different." I broke out into a sprint. I lunged forward and I shifted in an instant.
Once my paws touched the ground, I shot off at a speed I have never achieved before. All of my senses felt sharper now. As for strength, we'll see how that goes once I confront Tyler. Let's see if I'm stronger than a Hybrid now.
I walked down the street of Elena's neighborhood. I stopped by the Hale summer house but Derek and Cora weren't there. They must have left with the others to get to the cure.
I approached the Gilbert residence. No cars in the driveway or by the street. My nose flared as I smelled the air. Caroline's and Tyler's scents were here but they were faint. They must have left. Nik's scent was strong. He really is stuck here.
I walked up the porch and opened the front door. Unlocked. Clearly they're not worried about anyone coming. I walked into the house and closed the door behind me.
"Allye." I turned my head to see Nik standing in the living room. I couldn't read the look on his face. He seemed relieved though.
"Ty wasn't joking when he said Bonnie spelled you to the living room." I commented and walked closer.
Nik swallowed thickly, "Did you get my voicemail?" He asked.
I nodded, "I did." I crossed my arms across my chest, "But I need to hear it in person. That really hurt Nik, what you said to me."
Nik hung his head, "I know. I got angry and I lashed out. I'm sorry that I hurt you. I've been tearing myself apart since that night. How do you think I got stuck in this mess?" Nik said and held his hands out in a gesture.
"By being impulsive. You tend to do that when you get hurt. Nothing I haven't seen before. I'm sorry about Kol. I didn't exactly like the guy but he was still your brother." Nik only nodded and then fished something out of his pocket.
He held up my necklace that I took off that night, "I got the chain replaced. I can put this back on for you." Nik offered.
I walked over and stepped into the living room with Nik. I turned around and I felt the cool metal of the necklace touch my bare neck. He clasped the necklace and I turned around to face him. He held an intense gaze and lifted his hand to my face but then he stopped.
I took his hand in mine and placed it against my cheek. Nik let out a ragged breath. "I missed you." I whispered.
Nik used his other arm to pull me against him and the hand that was on my cheek was now behind my head. "I missed you as well, love." Nik replied and held me tightly.
I returned the hug and held him just as tight. I then heard the sound of car doors shutting. I pulled away from the hug and looked at the door.
"That would be them." Nik said quietly.
I put a finger up to my lips, signaling Nik to be quiet. Nik nodded and I left the living room and quickly waited where the door would swing open. Nik took a seat on the coffee table and gave me an amused smile. He had an idea what I was going to do.
The door opened and I watched as Tyler and Caroline walked in. Caroline had her laptop and Tyler carried the sword Nik had dug up from Italy.
"Well, if it isn't little orphan Lockwood. Come to show how laughably impotent you are against me?" Nik taunted Tyler.
"I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure." Tyler told Nik.
"Really? That's not what you said over the phone." Tyler and Caroline snapped to look over my direction.
"Allye." Caroline said in shock. Tyler carefully set down the sword on the coffee table and stood up with his hands in the air.
"Al, I don't want to fight." I scoffed and walked closer to them.
"You should have thought of that before drugging me with wolfsbane." Tyler shook his head.
"Al, I'm stronger than you. A normal Werewolf can't beat a Hybrid. Even if you are an Alpha. I don't want to hurt you." Tyler warned me.
"I didn't realize that Carol raised a bitch." I smirked seeing Tyler's eyes glow a golden hue.
My eyes glowed red and I could perfectly see Tyler rush towards me, even with his hybrid speed.
"Tyler, don't!" Caroline yelled. I dodged Tyler's charge and in one swift motion. I kicked his feet from under him and bent his arm behind his back and pinned him to the ground.
Tyler struggled against me and I added more pressure to my hold, "What was that about being stronger than me?" I taunted him.
"The hell? I can't break free." Tyler grunted from under me.
"Allye," I turned my head to Caroline who had a look of shock on her face, "How did you just do that?" I eyed Nik and he had the same look on his face.
"Let's just say, I was gone for as long as I was for a reason. I'm a different kind of Werewolf now, Ty. It looks like I'm stronger than a Hybrid now." I said and let go of Tyler.
"Callista found you." Nik said in realization.
I nodded my head, "She did." Tyler stood up with confusion written on his face. Caroline looked between Nik and I.
"Who the hell is Callista?" Caroline asked both of us.
"She's a two thousand year old werewolf." I answered.
"What? Werewolves aren't immortal." Tyler denied and gave me a look of disbelief.
"Normal werewolves aren't, but an Original Werewolf is. Callista is the first werewolf in history. She made our entire species, Ty. And now, I'm one too." I stated proudly.
"You're an Original Werewolf now? So, you're…" Caroline trailed off.
"Immortal? Yes." I answered. My eyes flickered to Nik. He had many emotions running through him right now.
"Now, what's with the sword?" I asked as I picked up the sword from the table.
"We're helping Elena. Professor Shane took Bonnie and Jeremy and left everyone else. They don't know where they are and need the map to be decoded. The sword is the key for the map." Caroline said and Tyler took the sword from my hands.
"I was playing with the handle on the ride over and I found this." He took off the leather around the hilt and revealed the true contents of the sword.
"And what do you think 'this' is?" Nik asked from his spot.
"It's called a cryptex." Tyler and I gave Caroline a look, "What? I've seen The Da Vinci Code. You turn the different sides to the different symbols to get the translation on the other side. And with the magic of the internet, Elena sent these over." She held up pictures of Jeremy's tattoo, "So now all we have to do is cryptex away. If you two want to help, we won't stop you." Caroline said as she sat back down on the couch.
"Right. Well, might I suggest using the magic of the internet to purchase an Aramaic-to-English dictionary from your nearest retailer." Nik said with a smirk. I turned to Nik with a quizzical look on my face.
"What's Aramaic?" I asked, and looked at Tyler and Caroline. Tyler shrugged and Caroline looked shocked.
"It's a dead language. It hasn't been use since, like, biblical times." Caroline informed me.
"Qetsiyah's native tongue, I'm guessing. You know, even if you had the best dictionary in the world, it could take days to translate." Nik walked over to the coffee and sat back down, "Perhaps weeks. In bas so-teen-too ara-ma-eet." I couldn't help but smirk. Of course, leave it to Nik to know the language.
"What does that mean?" Caroline asked.
Nik grinned, "If only you spoke Aramaic."
"Good luck with your code breaking." I said as I walked into the living room with Nik and sat down on the couch.
Caroline huffed and began to work. Tyler eyed us before sitting next to her to help.
I took out my phone and I felt weight add to the couch as Nik sat next to me. My eyes glanced up to make sure Caroline and Tyler weren't looking at us. I typed a quick text and secretly showed it to Nik.
'The cure would have been a dead end.' Nik read the text then looked up for a second before mouthing the word "why" to me.
I erased the last message and typed a new one before showing him.
'There's only one dose of the cure and it's meant for Silas.' Nik eyed me and a smirk graced his face.
"Okay, this is it. We've translated all the symbols on the tattoo. Passage inside...requires a young senator, and a pretty flower. Okay, none of this makes sense!" Caroline complained and put the cards back on the table.
Nik stood up and walked over to just the edge of the living room. He read the symbols. He first read them out loud in Aramaic. "Requires a powerful witch and a hunter in full bloom." Nik translated.
"What are you doing?" Tyler demanded. I stood up and stopped right next to Nik.
"I don't need to tell you my reasons. Caroline. Bring my sword over here." Nik instructed.
Caroline walked up to us and showed the sword's cryptex.
"Silas rests on the far side, the means of his destruction at hand." Nik looked at the pictures on the laptop screen, "Turn the cryptex to the right." Caroline turned the mechanism. "Stop. The top of the hilt reveals a key to a nautical map. Turn it to the left." Caroline turned it the other way, "Now turn the other piece." Caroline turned the small metal piece.
"There's something else." Nik said. Nik read the next part in Aramaic. He turned to me with a grin.
"You were right, love." Oh he played them.
"Right about what? Klaus what does that mean?" Caroline demanded.
Caroline looked at me and I just shrugged at her with a playful smirk on my face.
Caroline huffed and took out her phone. She dialed a number then put her phone on the coffee table and sat down next to Tyler.
"Hello?" I heard Rebekah's voice. Nice to know nobody redaggered her after I took it out.
"Hey, it's Caroline. We have the translation of the tattoo. We're emailing you pictures of the map and instructions right now." Tyler nodded as he hit send on the laptop.
"Got it. Thanks."
"Actually, it was me." Nik spoke up.
"Nik, you helped?" Rebekah asked in suspicion.
"Hey Rebekah." I chided in.
"Allye?! Where the bloody hell have you been?" Rebekah said harshly into the phone.
"Allye's there?" I heard Derek's voice. Oh boy.
"Allye, you have a lot of explaining to do when I get back. You have any idea how worried Cora and I were?" Derek scolded me.
"I know, I know. I'll explain everything when you guys get back." I assured them, "Anyway, Rebekah listened carefully." Tyler and Caroline shot me a look, "There's only one dose of the cure. If you want it before Elena you need to be quick and get it first." Tyler rushed and ended the call on the phone.
"That's what you knew earlier. You knew there was only one dose." Tyler said and gave me a hard stare.
"Now you know why I took your threat of making Nik human as an empty one. Rebekah knows now and she wants to be human again pretty bad. Consider it giving her a head start." I said with a smirk.
Caroline looked at Nik, "I thought you wanted the cure for Elena. You can't make your hybrids anymore. You don't seem upset at what Allye just told Rebekah." Nik shrugged.
"I got what I wanted already. I could care less about the cure now." Nik admitted.
Tyler got up and stormed out of the house. Caroline followed right behind him and shut the front door. Nik turned to me.
"You're going to have to explain everything to me, love. It sounds like you've been busy while you were gone." Nik said and took a step closer to me.
"I will, as soon as the full moon rises and you're free to leave." I got closer to him and stood on my tiptoes to put my mouth next to his ear.
"And we can 'celebrate' my immortality once we're home." I leaned back and I could see the lust and love in Nik's eyes.
"I look forward to that then." He said with a grin on his face.
The door opened and I turned my attention to Caroline who just walked in.
"Klaus, you can't kill Tyler." I furrowed my brows and turned to Nik who had a look of contempt.
"After all that he's done? I don't think so Caroline." Nik retorted.
"You're not killing Ty." I reiterated and gave a hard gaze to Nik. Nik looked at me in disbelief.
"Have you forgotten what he did to you?" I shook my head.
"No, I haven't. I haven't forgiven him either but that doesn't mean he has to die, Nik." Nik tightened his jaw and began to pace.
"He turned my Hybrids against me, he tried to kill me, and he made it his life's mission to find the cure to use it against me." Nik argued.
"I'm telling you to be the bigger person here, Nik. The cycle of revenge is never ending until someone physically stops it. Show Tyler mercy and end the cycle now." I told Nik.
Nik stared at me long and hard before turning to Caroline, "Tell Tyler to leave town immediately and tell him to run and hide in a place I will never find him." Caroline sighed in relief and turned around.
"Tell him that this is the mercy I extend for Allye's sake...that I will give him a head start before I kill him." I gave Nik a look and Caroline turned back to us looking crestfallen.
Caroline gulped and walked out through the front door again. I crossed my arms and glared at Nik.
"What? I showed him mercy like you asked, love." Nik retorted.
"You're forcing my hand, Nik." Nik furrowed his brows at me.
"What do you mean, Allye?" He asked, unsure if he wanted to know the answer.
"Once the full moon is here and you're released...I'm giving you a choice. You can hunt Tyler down and kill him, but if you do then know I'll be gone again by the time you get back." Nik's breath got caught in his throat, "Or you can forget about revenge and come home where I'll be waiting for you." Nik swallowed thickly before answering.
"You're giving me an ultimatum." Nik stated matter of factly.
"It's your choice in the end, Nik. I'll be at home." I said and turned around to leave. Nik didn't say another word as I walked out the front door.
I side eyed Caroline and Tyler who were staring at me. I know they heard me. I walked off the porch of the Gilbert residence.
"Allye." I stopped and turned to Caroline.
"Thank you." Caroline thanked genuinely.
"Don't thank me. Thank Mason. It's because of the promise I made to him that I keep his hybrid ass out of trouble. Don't screw this up, Ty. Get out of town and don't come back while Nik is here. I can't promise to protect you again if you come back." I warned Tyler and pointed at him.
Tyler nodded, "Got it. Thanks, Al. And...I'm sorry for what I did to you."
I nodded, "I'm sorry about your mom. I got there too late. She was already gone by the time I got to them. I know what it's like to lose a mother. It's hard right now but it'll get better with time. You have nothing but time now. Take care, Ty." Tyler swallowed.
"You too, Al." I nodded and continued walking away from the Gilbert residence. The sun was setting and the full moon was starting to rise in the distance.
I sat on the coffee table that sat in front of the fireplace at Nik's home. The full moon was at its apex. I could feel it, it's power surging through me. It had a stronger pull now than before. It caught me off guard for a second before my humanity came back.
I heard the front door open which made me stand up. I watched anxiously as Nik came into view. He stopped just under the archway.
A tense silence fell between us before he opened his mouth to speak. "I went through my own personal hell without you by my side, love. I don't want to feel like that ever again." Nik swallowed as his eyes glistened with tears that threatened to fall, "I love you...too much to let you go. I made the mistake of pushing you away. I'm never going to make that mistake again."
I gave Nik a small smile, "Good, because I didn't really want to leave." Nik let out a light laugh and grinned. I walked over to him and embraced him. He let out a deep breath as he held me.
I separated from the hug enough to give him a loving kiss. We broke the kiss and looked at each other's eyes before he pulled me back into another kiss. The kissing began to grow intense. Nik backed me up to a wall. One arm was around my waist to pull me closer and the other braced against the wall.
Nik left my lips and trailed down my neck. Sucking and nipping at my skin as he went down. I raked my fingers through his hair and a feral growl rumbled from his chest. He seized his attack long enough to pull my shirt over my head. He pulled me back to him to resume the kiss.
I gripped his button up shirt and with one jerk, the sound of buttons flying and hitting the ground echoed. I placed the palm of my hands against his abdomen. Nik then effortlessly picked me up and used his speed to move us. I felt my bare back meet the leather of the couch that was behind us.
Nik stopped and hovered over me. Both of us were breathing rather heavily. Nik's eyes held love in them as he brought up one hand and moved a stray hair off my face.
"You have no idea how beautiful you look right now." He whispered as he cupped my cheek with the same hand.
I lovingly nuzzled against his hand and I placed my own hand against Nik's cheek. His eyes closed at feeling my touch.
I leaned up and gently kissed his cheek, "I love you, Niklaus." I said using his full name.
"And I love you, Allye." He responded and captured me in another kiss. Going back where we left off.
Little did I know that this one night would end up changing my life forever…
Allye's back! She got her payback at Tyler and now knows as an Original Werewolf. She's stronger than a Hybrid. Needless to say that Klaus is over the moon that Allye is now immortal and will no longer age. He was given an ultimatum by Allye. Revenge or her and he chose her. The promise he makes to Allye this night of never pushing her away again will come into affect later on.
