It had been just over a week since Jeremy's death. Apparently Elena finally came out of her denial and ended up turning her switch off. She even burned down her house.

Nik and I have a new issue to deal with ourselves. Hayley contacted Nik out of the blue asking for protection against Katherine. She apparently made a deal with Katherine. Those never go well. Nik wants to follow up since he's still searching for her.

Hayley told us to meet her at a truck stop just outside of town. That's where we are right now.

I watched as Hayley left the store and was looking around carefully as she walked. I took a step to go after her when I smelled another vampire scent. She was being followed.

I followed Hayley as she walked between two semi-trucks. I heard the sound of something banging on metal then another thump.

"Hey." I called out to the vampire that was standing over Hayley. "Didn't your mother teach you it's not very nice to hit a girl?" I taunted him. The vampire curled his lip at me and hissed at me.

He rushed at me but didn't make it. Nik appeared in front of me and gripped the vampire by his jacket.

"Wrong move, mate." Nik bit down on the vampire's neck. The vampire screamed in pain. Once Nik was done, he threw the vampire against the truck and he fell to the floor.

"You guys came." Hayley said, sitting up from the ground.

"Well, you did say it was urgent." Nik offered his hand and Hayley took it to pull herself up.

I watched as the vampire got up and sped away. Hayley looked concerned and Nik noticed.

"Oh, don't worry about him. He'll never make it through tomorrow night." Nik assured her.

"If not sooner, that was a lot of venom you gave him." I added and walked up to stand next to Nik.

"What if there are more?" Hayley asked with a scared look on her face.

"You were foolish enough to make a deal with Katerina Petrova. She used you to find the cure and now you're nothing but a loose end. You'll be lucky if she lets you live." Nik informed Hayley.

"Katherine must have offered something really good to make a deal with her. Was it worth your life?" I taunted Hayley. Hayley looked between us with an angry look.

She shoved past us, "You said you would protect me." I rolled my eyes at her dramatic exit.

"And we will." Nik answered, causing Hayley to stop, "Just as soon as you tell me everything you know about Katerina."

I watched Hayley as she sat at the kitchen table eating food and a glass of water in front of her. She agreed to tell us more about Katherine once she knew she was safe. I heard a knock at the door. Hayley turned her head and looked at me.

"Aren't you going to get that?" I narrowed my eyes at her. I pushed off from my spot against the wall and headed to the front door.

Nik already beat me to it and opened the door and in walked Damon.

"Ah, what an unpleasant surprise." Nik said.

"Damon. What do you want?" I asked, folding my arms.

"So I came up with a list," He started and while Nik closed the front door, "It's called "Things You Suck At". Number one: Finding Katherine. Ever. Number two: covering up your secret phone conversations with that little backstabber Hayley." Damon waved the phone transcripts in front of him and set them on the end table.

"So, where is she? What does she know about Katherine?" Damon demanded.

"We should help you?" Nik asked in disbelief.

Damon nodded, "So we're just supposed to forget that you killed Kol and imprisoned Nik in the Gilbert's living room?" I mused and gave a tight lip smile to Damon.

Damon turned to me, "You two might want to get your priorities straight. You have a much bigger problem now. Katherine has the cure." Nik and I glanced at each other hearing that.

"I have your attention now? Good. My guess is she's going to cram the cure down your throat, Klaus. You help me find Katherine, I'll get the cure, give it to Elena, everybody wins. Just let me question Hayley about Katherine." Damon stated.

Nik gave a smirk and walked past Damon and slumped onto the couch. "Can't help you, mate. Hayley's off limits. Although we did have a run in with a vampire who may know where Katerina is." Damon turned and looked at Nik.

"You might want to hurry though, Damon." Damon then turned to me, "Nik bit him and pretty good. He won't last past the next sunrise. Try looking at the truck stop just outside of town. That's where he was bit. He couldn't have gotten far." Damon gave both of us a look before turning around and leaving.

"You're welcome!" I called out and heard the front door slam shut.

"Think he bought it?" I said, looking at Nik. Nik had a grin on his face, "I think so. Rebekah seems to have competition now."

"Call it a race to find Katherine. At least Rebekah got some of your blood to cure the bite. Damon didn't even think of it. He's really frazzled right now." I commented.

"How's our guest?" Nik changed the subject.

I rolled my eyes and huffed, "Getting on my last nerves already." I muttered.

Nik chuckled and stood up from his spot, "This is only temporary, love. Think you can last a little longer, for me?" Nik asked and gave an innocent puppy dog look to me.

I let out a huff, "Fine." Nik grinned, "You're lucky I love you." I mumbled.

"Yes, I am." Nik said and lifted my chin and planted a chaste kiss on my lips.

"I think I just threw up in my mouth." I deadpanned and tightened my lips out of anger hearing Hayley behind me.

I turned around to see Hayley standing there with her arms crossed.

"That's it. You've slept, you've been fed, we've done everything you asked. Now tell us about Katherine." I threatened. My eyes glowed red from my anger.

I felt Nik's hands on my shoulders, "Temper, love." I huffed through my nose and backed down. My eyes turned back to their normal green color.

Hayley smirked at me, "You make it too easy to push your buttons, Hale. It's kind of fun." Is she asking for me to get mad?!

"I've been very hospitable to you Hayley. That can change in an instant. I will ask you one more time. Where is Katerina?" Nik demanded. His patience was starting to wear thin as well.

"You seriously think I know?" Hayley said, raising an eyebrow.

"You tipped her off as to what we were up to and set her on a course to find the cure. In return, she sent her lackey to snuff you out. Tell me, what did Katerina promise you?" Nik quipped back.

Hayley bit the inside of her cheek before continuing, "I was in New Orleans trying to find information about my real parents. Katherine found me and told me she could help."

"An orphan. Welcome to the club." I said with my voice full of spite.

Hayley glared at me, "At least you knew your real parents. Not everyone has that luxury, Hale." She said with venom lacing her tone.

I gave her a sickly sweet smile, "You're right, at least mine loved me enough to raise me and not abandon me on the streets." Now Hayley's eyes turned gold.

"Harsh, love." Nik said but had an amused smile on his face, "Like it or not, Hayley. I am the only one that can protect you. I'm happy to do so, provided you cooperate." Nik reminded Hayley.

Hayley's jaw tensed and nodded before walking away. Nik turned to me and had a look on his face I couldn't make out.

"What?" I asked. Nik had a small smile on his face.

"I can't help but get the feeling that someone's jealous." My jaw dropped hearing those words come from his mouth.

"Me jealous of her? You're kidding right?" Nik's smile didn't drop. He just shrugged.

"There's nothing wrong with it, love. In fact, I'm quite enjoying it." I gave a fake smile to Nik.

"If you're enjoying it so much, then you get to deal with Hayley by yourself." I said and poked Nik in the chest. He held his hands up in surrender, his smile still on his face.

I turned to walk away and stopped at the front door. I turned back to Nik, "Besides, I don't have to be jealous. I know you're mine." Nik's smile turned into a smirk and I could feel the lust coming from him now.

I grabbed my car keys and opened the front door, "Where are you going?" Nik asked.

I gave him a smile, "Out. Like I said, you get to deal with Hayley now."

"You're being a tease right now, love." Nik said with a slight edge to his voice.

"It's only temporary, love." I mocked. I couldn't help but laugh at the deadpanned look Nik gave me. I just threw his words right back at him.

"Love you." I said grinning and closed the door behind me.

"So Klaus is saving Hayley from Katherine because he wants to know where she's at?" Cora asked from her spot on the bed.

"Yup, she was stupid enough to make a deal with Katherine. Hayley served her purpose and now she's a loose end that needs to be cut off." I said sitting on the opposite side of the bed.

I drove down the Hale summer house to spend some time with Cora. Megan happened to be over as well, now the three of us were having a girls night.

"Klaus actually asked you if you were jealous of her?" Megan asked in disbelief.

"Yes, he did." Cora and Megan shared a look.

"Are you?" I glared at the two of them.

"No, I'm not jealous of her. There's nothing to be jealous of. She's a backstabbing werewolf that sleeps around with any man that looks in her direction." Cora raised an eyebrow at me.

"That sounds like jealousy to me. Klaus has been pretty friendly with her from what you've told us. It's okay if you feel jealous, Al. Klaus is just using Hayley like how Katherine did. He's just doing it in a non-threatening way to earn her trust." Cora said gently.

I said nothing and turned my head away. I want to deny it but deep down, I know Cora is right. It does bug me the way Nik is so friendly to Hayley.

"You know, Al. If you just tell Klaus how you're feeling I'm sure he'd stop. He use to be and I'm pretty sure still is jealous of Damon. You two have history together. He gets tense whenever Damon shows up and talks to you. I've seen it." Megan told me.

I opened my mouth to answer but I was interrupted by Megan's phone going off. She took her phone out and frowned as she read the text.

"What is it?" Cora asked.

"It's from Elena. She sent out a mass text to the entire school. Party at the Salvatore Boarding House."

"If that doesn't sound like a vampire with their emotions off, I don't know what does." I said with a tight lip smile.

"You know what? Why don't we go? After everything we've been through with all this Silas stuff, we could use some fun." Cora advised.

"What the hell. I could use a drink." I agreed.

"Let's go then." Megan said, getting off the bed.

The three of us walked into the Boarding House where teenagers were everywhere.

"Wow, Elena threw this party pretty quick." Megan said, impressed.

I eyed some teenagers that discovered Damon's secret stash of his favorite bourbon. I grimaced. "If Damon comes back and sees this. Teenage heads are going to roll. They found his stash." I commented.

Cora got a devious look on her face, "Well, he's not here. So…" She walked over and swiped the glass bottle from the teenager. The teenager was either too stoned or drunk to care.

She came back over and took a swig from the bottle. She then handed me the glass.

"I'm going to pretend I didn't just see you do that in front of me." I told her and grabbed the bottle.

Cora rolled her eyes, "Like you didn't drink at my age. Take a swig." I shook my head and went to take a sip when the stench hit my nose.

I involuntarily gagged and held the bottle away from me. My stomach felt nauseous just from smelling the alcohol. Cora and Megan looked at me concerned.

"Are you okay? It wasn't that bad." Cora asked and took the bottle away.

I furrowed my brows in confusion and shook my head. "I-I don't know. I've had Damon's bourbon before and it never made me gag before." The smell of all the alcohol started to waft to my nose. I quickly plugged my nose and ran out of the house.

Once I was further from the house, I unplugged my nose. Cora and Megan were next to me with looks of concern.

"Are you feeling okay, Allye? You look pale." Megan worriedly asked.

"I don't know, maybe it's an Original Werewolf thing. My nose must be more sensitive to things now." Cora and Megan shared a look.

"Yeah, that could be it." Cora said but sounded unsure herself.

"Do you want us to take you home?" Megan asked.

I shook my head, "No, I can take myself home. You two enjoy the party. Don't worry about me. I'm pretty sure it's the new sensitivity of my senses. That's all."

"Okay. If you're sure, Al. Call me when you get home." Cora instructed.

I nodded, "I will." With that I turned around and made my way to Nik's place.

I walked through the front door and stopped seeing Hayley walking out from the parlor.

"You're still here?" I said un-enthusiastically.

"She was getting ready to leave. Weren't you?" Nik answered and appeared behind Hayley.

Hayley turned to look at Nik then back at me, "One more glass of wine and I'll be out of your hair." I watched as Hayley walked towards the kitchen.

Nik walked over to me and he held a stern gaze, "If this is about what I said before I left, Nik. I was just playing with you." I assured Nik.

Nik held up his phone, "That's not what I'm concerned about. I just got off the phone with Cora."

I grimaced, "She told you about the whole jealousy thing?" I asked.

"I'm more concerned about the part where the smell of alcohol made you feel sick. Cora said you looked pale and ready to throw up. Are you all right, love?" Nik asked with concern, lacing his voice.

"I'm fine now. Like I told Cora, I'm pretty sure it's because my senses are more sensitive right now." Nik let out a sigh and softly gripped the sides of my arms.

"If you say so, love." Nik stated.

"Well, it's been fun. Thanks for the protection detail. Hale, fun as always." Hayley said with a smirk and walked out the front door.

"I hate her." I growled out. Nik chuckled which caused me to glare at him.

"Is this funny to you?" I demanded and crossed my arms at Nik.

"The situation is. Love, you're the one that has told me to dial it back. I tried a more hospitable method to get information from Hayley instead of my usual chain up and torture. I didn't think it would have made you jealous." My anger vanished and I let out a sigh.

"Okay, you have me there. It's just...the way Hayley looks at you makes me uneasy." Nik sighed and pulled me into him.

"You have no need to be jealous. You are the only woman I have my eyes on. Hayley is...how did you put it again? Ah yes, a backstabbing werewolf that sleeps with any man that looks in her direction." I let out a groan and buried my face in Nik's chest out of embarrassment.

"Cora told you that?" I whined. I felt Nik's chest rumble from his laughter.

"She told me everything, love. Green looks good on you." I let out a groan. Nik chuckled and kissed me on the top of my head.

"Come on. It's late, let's get you to bed." I let out a shriek as I felt myself get picked up.

"I love you and only you, Allye. No woman could ever compete with you." I gave him a warm smile.

"Flattery only gets you so far Mr. Mikaelson." Nik grinned.

"I take that as a challenge, Ms. Hale." Nik quipped back. I laughed and held on tight as he used his speed to get upstairs. I really was worried for no reason.

No One's P.O.V

Hayley stopped at the end of the Mikaelson property. She looked behind her at the building and pulled out her phone. She dialed a number with a New Orleans area code listed first.

She put it up against her ear and after a couple of rings the person she was reaching.

"It's me. Remember that favor I owed you? I have some information that might help you with your little vampire problem. I think Klaus' mate is pregnant with his kid." Hayley said and a cheshire grin formed on her face.

Oh snap! It's happening. Hayley knows something that nobody else does. How she knows it? That'll be explained later. I got several messages some time ago all asking if Klaus was going to cheat. Yeah...that wasn't going to happen but I thought it'd be nice to make Allye jealous of Hayley and the hospitality that Klaus gave her. Know Allye knows how Klaus feels when Damon's around.
