A Family Affair
Allison looks at family photos and sighs. "Aelita is really my cousin. Shit! How am I supposed to explain that to her? I'll talk to my brother." Allison brushes her hair as Dawn comes into the room. "I think Aelita needs some cheering up. She had another nightmare." "I heard. What can we do?" "Yiu can tell her-" "No, Dawn! She needs to grieve for her father first. Learning about your past that you didn't know about before can be tiresome. " "So, you are stalling?" "No. I am going to talk to my brother. He might want to be a part of the conversation." "If you say so." Dawn brushes her hair as she speaks. "Allison, although Aelita feels loved by her friends, finding out she has a family can make her feel whole. Or at least, more put together." "I guess, and it can give her some clarity about her mom. She disappeared a long time ago," Allison said. "Good. Now, let's go to class," Dawn said. After class, Odd runs to the group. "Help! I need to prove Sissi wrong." "About what?" Yumi asks. "My feet!" Crickets. "Odd, we are saying this because we love you," Ulrich starts. "Your feet smell like fresh manure on a hot summer day!" Jeremy said. Everyone laughs. "I'll ask Ash. He is honest!" "No, Odd. For your ego. Please don't ask me!" Ash says while laughing. Odd growls. "I'll show you all something!" As the group heads for lunch, Odd pulls Dawn aside. "During our 'date'- my feet were?" Odd starts to blush. Dawn blushes back. "You were wearing thick socks, so I didn't smell anything." "Okay. Well, I'm going to take care of it!" Odd, leaves in a hurry. At lunch, Aelita asks about her father and whether it is possible to find her in the network. "Aelita, there is no way!" Jeremy said. "Why not?" Aelita asks. "Becasue he used all of her life energy to bring you back after losing your memory." "But maybe, he escaped. He is the one who created Lyoko. He knows all of the secrets." After a few choice words, Aelita leaves. "You know, you haven't spent fucking years of your life in some computer!" Aelita walks away and mumbles. "I wish I never recovered my memory!" Jeremy looks at his friends, and they all shake their heads.
Aelita skips study hall and sulks at the Hermitage. As she cries, Odd appears and talks to her. "You know Einstien; he can be a real fucking jerk sometimes." Aelita laughs. "Also, I know that he is sorry. He likes you, Aelita!" "I know; I like him too. I only wish he'll understand why I want information, why I need this. I know in my heart that he could be out there." "I know, Aelita. But you heard Jeremy." "I know. That is why we're going to Lyoko!" "Who's we?" Odd asks. "You and me!" Aelita said. Odd quickly realizes that Aelitabis not taking no for an answer and gulps. At study hall, Allison talks to her brother by some shelves. "You should talk to her," Ash J said. "Me? You are leaving me alone with this?" Allison asks. "She is your friend! You break it to her. I can talk to her if you want to after, but she needs to hear it from you." Jim walks by, so the twins pretend to read as she goes by. "But you have proof. You saw some photos?" Ash J asks. "Yes. She said her mother's name, and she remembers her mother's birthday. Mom told us when Aunt Anthea was born," Allison said. Ash J sighs. "Did she say anything about her or her father?" "Nope! She is unsure what happened to her." "I see. Mom knew something happened to her sister. She can sense it." "Anyway, I am going to sneak out of here. Aelita and Jeremy fought." "I see. Trouble in nerd paradise!" Allison laughs. "Yes. Don't tell Rocky." "I won't," Ash J said. Allison sees Jim trying to "help" a student and sneaks out to meet Brock and Dawn outside. Meanwhile, Jeremy asks Ulrich and Ash about Aelita. "Yeah, you were harsh on her," Ulrich said. "I agree. She feels like her father could still be out there. She did spend a long time in the Supercomputer, and she feels like he could still be alive, and you shut it down cold!" Ash said. Jeremy sighs. At the factory, Aelita sets up delayed vitalization to the Desert Sector and delays the Transport Orb. "Whoa, you can do all of that?" Odd asks. "Of course, it's a piece of cake!" Aelita said. Odd stares at her. "Sure!" Odd said sardonically. Back at the library, Ulrich speaks. "Learning that she was human was hard for Aelita. Also, what Ash said is true. Her father sacrificed himself for her, and she is going through a lot. You need to apologize." Jeremy nods, but his computer goes off. "An activated tower in the Mountian Sector!" Jeremy said. "We need to get out," Ash said. He looks around and sees that Allison left. "It looks like Allison left," Ulrich said. "We can cell her and the others. Meanwhile, follow my lead," Jeremy said. The boys start to argue over something gross. "Baking soda, vinegar, and wheat!" Ulrich said. "No! You need yeast!" Jeremy said. "Not true. Extra Virgin Olive Oil and wine!" Ash shouts. "Out!" Jim screams. The boys leave. 'What was that?" Jeremy asks. "Something Odd cooked up!" Ulrich said. Jeremy calls Allison and Yumi, and they make their way to the factory with Brock and Dawn. Jeremy tries to call Aelita and Odd but no luck. "Aelita can't still be mad!" Jeremy said.
In Sector Five, Aelita and Jeremy deal with Creepers as they try to find the Key. However, the Creepers were surprised. At the Factory, Jeremy smells Odd's feet. "Odd has not been here since yesterday. His smell goes away at some point," Ulrich said. "Okay, Yumi, Ulrich, and Ash will go to Lyoko. Allison, Brock, and Dawn will stay behind in case XANA attacks the Core." They all nod. In the Mountian Sector, the three meet two Tarantulas and squadron Hornets. Jeremy helps them out by sending in their vehicles. Back in Sector Five, Odd and Aelita manage to find the key. Allison tries to call Aelita again but has no luck. "So, have you spoke to Ash-the boyfriend?" Brock said. "He told me I should tell her soon as possible, but she is so heartbroken now. I don't want her to feel like her father is going to be replaced," Allison said. "No way. She will still miss her father, but she will at least have her mother's side of the family," Brock said. Dawn notices something. "Why is the screen weird?" "Wait, someone activated the Key in Sector Five!" Jeremy said. "Odd and Aelita!" Dawn said. "Hey, while you two are doing whatever, there is a tower to deactivate! Come on!" Jeremy shouts. Odd looks at Aelita. "What do you want to do?" "Let's go to the tower," Aelita said in a defeated tone. In the Dome, Aelita sees Mantas at the South Pole. "It looks like a party," Odd said. "XANA wouldn't send them there for a party. Go see," Jeremy said. They look. "They are going for the Core!" Odd said. "Fend them off; I am sending back up," Jeremy said. "You three, head for the scanners. I will send you to the Mountian Sector to meet the others for the Transport." "Okay," Allison said. On Lyoko, Ash, Yumi, and Ulrich manage to defeat some Bloks before heading to the edge of the Sector. Odd and Aelita manage to defeat some Mantas, but Odd get Deviturlaize before they reach the Core, so Aelita enters alone. However, the others arrive right behind her. "As it turns out, XANA tried to trick us with the tower, but with Aelita and Odd going to Sector Five, we with one step ahead of XANA,' Jeremy said. "Well, let's do this!" Ash said. The seven warriors take care of the Mantas in no time. After, Jeremy asks if Aelita wants to collec5 some data on her father before she deactivates the tower. "Yes, I would love to!" Aelita said. Jeremy smiles. Later that night, Odd has a surprise for Ulrich. "What the fuck is that?" Ulrich asks. 'A cream from Yolanda. It helps with the smell," Odd said. "Becasue the shit stinks! Open a window, please!" Ulrich calls out. Odd smell the bottle. "It smells okay!" Ulrich knocks on Ash and Brock's door. "Ulrich, what happened?" Brock asks. Ash smells something. "Is that the thing Odd showed me. It helps with his feet problem." "No! Please, can I stay here for the night?" Ulrich asks. "You know, this is why people don't compromise!" Odd said. In Jeremy's room, Jeremy and Aelita look through the data. "There is nothing here," Aelita sighs. Moments later, Jeremy finds something. "I think-wait!" Jeremy looks into it. "It is a piece of Franz Hopper's DNA." "It could mean that he could still be alive?" Aelita asks. "I think so," Jeremy said. In Allison and Dawn's room, Allison writes in her diary as Dawn listens to music. "So, you are telling her after your birthday." "Yeah. I need to explain everything to her calmly, and I want to enjoy my fourteen birthday without any tears," Allison said. "Okay!" Dawn said.
The next day is Ash J and Allison's birthday. Their parents have arranged for them to take their friends for Laser Tag. "I love laser tag," Odd said as he picks up a shooter. "Good luck. Allison and Ash always win," Brock said. "No!" Odd said. After a few rounds, Allison opens one of her presents from her parents. "A heart-shaped locket with two pictures of my family. One is of mom, dad, my aunt, and uncle." Ash J has a similar one in a circle shape. It has his sisters and one of him and his brother. "I knew it. You miss Gary." "No! I'll miss calling someone Zigzagoon Head!" Ash J said. "My locket has a picture of Aelita." "You didn't tell her!" "No. She was all bent out of shape because of her father. So, I'll tell her tomorrow." "Allison, it's going to be bad!" "I know, but you know what it is like to have your whole life blown up," Allison exclaims. "I know, but please tell her!" Ash J said. "I will. Now, we have subjects to conquer!" "Yes, we do!" As Allison leaves, Ash J looks at his other gift, a pin which is a family heirloom. He sighs as he continues to play laser tag. He makes sure he gets his Ash a few times. The next day, the group searched for anything about Franz Hopper since Jeremy found a fragment of Franz Hopper's DNA. "Tomorrow!" Ash said. "Yeah, Aelita said since she skipped class two days ago, she has to catch up," Allison said. "Allison," Brock said. "I spoke to Aelita," Dawn said. "She will hang out with Allison tomorrow." "Great! This is going to be painful," Ash said. "No. I will talk to her and explain everything. I worked it out," Allison said. Allison notices that she lost her necklace inside, so she goes for it. Aelita picks up and sees it. "It looks nice. Is this yours?" "No," Yumi said. Allison races in and takes it. "It is mine," she said. "It is? What is in it?" Aelita asks. "Family pictures." "Can I see?" "No. I get really homesick and prefer not to share it." Allison leaves. "That was weird," Ulrich said. "No. Allison was lying!" Jeremy said. "How can you tell?" Odd asks. "I know. I can feel it. It must be really personal." Later that night, Allison stresses out. 'One more thing to deal with, the locket!" Allison has a locket for Aelita. Allison's mother sends it to Kadic along with the birthday presents. Allison is in her room. She is talking to herself. She has to break the news to Aelita nicely. "I only know for about two days. I wanted to tell you yesterday, but you were not in a good mood. And of course, you took Odd to Sector 5.." Allison walks around. "This is not going to end well." Her door is slightly open, and Aelita and Jeremy are walking by it with laundry baskets. Allison talks out loud. "Aelita, look, I don't know how to say this, but... my mom and you mom are sisters, so that makes us cousins." Aelita drops her basket. Jeremy is stunned. Aelita opens the door and yells at Allison. "I'm your what?!" Allison freezes. "What are you doing?" "You're my cousin?" "Aelita, calm down." Jeremy said. "I can explain tomorrow." "No. No. I heard you. What do you mean by that?" "You should not have been ears dropping. I have nothing to tell you." Then Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd walked by and heard fighting. They see Allison holding Aellita in a headlock and Jeremy just standing there. "The hell is this?" Odd asked. Aelita breaks free. "This girl over here is my long-lost cousin." "Excuse me?" Ulrich said. "I heard her, Ulrich!" "Aelita. I will explain everything later. Please leave with your aggression." Allison said as she shows Aelita the door. "Fuck it. I want to know how you and Aelita are related." Yumi said. "Aelita is related to Odd." Allison said. "Please! We all know that is not true!" Jeremy said. "Well, it's about time you said something, Jeremy!" Aelita said."Calm down, Aelita." Odd said. Then Dawn comes in to see all the tension. "Hey! Out!" Allison pulls Dawn aside. "Please help! The wolf pack is here to hurt me!" "Why?" "Because Allison is my cousin and won't tell me how?" Aelita shouted. "I thought you were telling her tomorrow?" "You know, Dawn!" Odd shouted. "Um... Ash, Brock! Come here!" Ash and Brock came into a mess. "What died?" "My friendship with your girlfriend if she doesn't tell me how are we cousins." Aelita gets beyond mad. "Cousins? Really?" Ash said in a sarcastic voice. "No way?" Brock said. "Cut the bullshit. We know you know!" Ulrich said. "Well, we know just as much as the next person." Ash said. "I'm the next person, boyfriend!" Allison said in rage. "Can we talk about this tomorrow?" Ash said. Aelita sits on Allison's bed. "I am not leaving until I get some answers!" "Well, I might as well get you some pillows and a blanket!" Allison said. "Hell no! Allison just tells her. I don't want her here all night. She might kill you." Dawn said. "Please, Aelita can't hurt a fly." Odd said. "Well, she can charge at me like a crazy person!" Allison said. "Allison, I heard you said that both you and Aelita's mothers are sisters. So you might as well start talking." Jeremy said. Yumi, Odd, and Ulrich were in shock. "Allison, please do. I think there might be a huge beat down soon." Brock said. "FINE!" Allison said.
Allison goes to her bed. "Can you move over?" "Why!" Aelita said. "Because the proof I need is sitting next to you." Aelita moves over. Jeremy sits next to Aelita, and Ash sits next to Jeremy. Dawn, Odd, Yumi, Ulrich, and Brock all sit on Dawn's bed respectfully. The door is closed. Allison grabs a photo album and puts it on her lap. "What do you want to know?" "Everything that you can tell me?" Aelita said. Allison looks nervous. "Maybe-" "Allison!" Ash said. Allison takes a deep breath. "Your mother is my mother's older sister. So by logic, Franz Hopper is my Uncle, and you're my cousin." Aelita looks like she is about to cry. "Anything else." "I have no idea where your mother is. I don't even remember the last time I saw you. My mother sometimes stares at a picture of herself and your mother and cries. So she always made sure that my sister and I don't fight a lot." "So you knew nothing of Lyoko before you came, correct?" "Yes." "So I have grandparents." "Yes, Grandma Elizabeth and Grandpa Neddie or Nedley." "Have long had you know?" "Well, you do look like your picture I have, and so when you started to talk about your father, I didn't think about it until I saw his picture at the factory. Then when Jeremy showed us the picture of your family the other day, it is the same one I have. So for about two days." Aelita takes a deep breath. "The locket?" Allison shows Aelita the locket. It has two pictures, one of Anthea and Daphne and the other of Aelita and Allison's siblings. Aelita gives it back. Allison holds another locket. "My mother, your aunt, sent this for you. She told me that she got it from your mother a long time ago. Your father wanted it to be kept safe." Aelita opens it and sees one picture of her parents and another of her holding Mr. puck. Aelita smiles. Then she gets mad. "I don't' believe this!" "Oh no," Dawn said. "You knew for two days that I have a family!" "I forgot about it yesterday, and the day before that, you were all bum out about your dad saving you. Then you took Odd to Lyoko, so there was no time." "If you have told her then, then we wouldn't have got to Lyoko against Jeremy's wishes!" Odd said. "But then XANA would have gotten to the Core faster!" Dawn said. "Mind your own business!" Aelita said. "Fuck you! Please, you are giving Allison hell. She wanted to tell you but didn't know how to because you tend to be stubborn." Dawn said. "Ya, ya, like a mule!" Aelita said. "No. Like a jackass!" Allison said. "Hey! Don't talk about Aelita like that!" Yumi said. "Control your friend!" Dawn said. "Let off Allison!" Brock said. "Mr. Mediator speaks!" Ulrich speaks. "Fuck it!" Brock said. "Allison, if you had any idea, then I could have helped you!" Jeremy said. "Jeremy, if my aunt was taking by, who knows, why would Franz Hopper keep photos of my family to put them in danger." "Don't you dare call my mother you aunt!" Aelita said. "She is. Deal with it!" Then Ash said a random comment. "Why are we all wearing the same type of shoes?" Everybody is wearing brown Timberlines. "What the hell? That is not relevant." Yumi said. "But it stopped the fighting." "Well, it is not working!" Aelita said. "Becasue you are acting crazy!" Allison said. Aelita gets up and is about to through a pillow at Allison when Brock throws one at Aelita first. A pillow fight emerges. "Hey, knock it off!" Jeremy said. "Not a chance!" Ash said. "Take that!" Ulrich said. "No way! Take this!" Dawn said as she hits Odd and Ulrich. "You started this!" Yumi said. "And I will finish it!" Brock said. Allison blocks Aelita's attack and hits her twice. Then when the warriors all hit each other in the middle of the room, a wormhole opens up.
Whoa! So the truth is out. Aelita and Allison (and Ash J) are first cousins. Aelita did not take it well, neither did the other Lyoko Warriors. What happens now? What about the wormhole? (This is another fanfiction, look it up). How will XANA take advantage of this? Our heroes will have to stay tuned. "Stay tuned!" Odd said. "I am over this. I got beat up by a girl at a pillow fight, and that Allison is related to Aelita. I feel robbed!" Dawn hist odd with a pillow. "I feel better!" Dawn said.
