It had been nine days since the last massacre. Elijah and Rebekah had come back by then. Nik and Rebekah had been debating for days now of who should get the cure. Nik wants Silas off his back and Rebekah wants to be human. Silas hasn't bothered us though since I told Callista about him. I haven't heard or seen Callista since then as well.
I walked down the stairs and headed to the kitchen. I could hear Elijah, Rebekah, and Nik talking about the cure once again in the living room.
"Elijah, being human means a fresh start. I can grow old and have a family and fill my days with meaning, knowing that each one matters." Wow. Rebekah's getting sappy now. She really wants this.
I poured myself a cup of coffee with cream into a to-go cup. I screwed the lid on and made my way to the living room.
"Well, that was poetic." Nik said with slight sarcasm.
"You're all still on this?" I asked and leaned against the archway.
The three siblings turned to me. Rebekah let out a sigh, "Allye, please talk some sense into Nik. He got what he wanted, now I think it should be my turn to get what I want." Nik rolled his eyes at that comment.
"Oh please. Silas can look like anyone he wants to. He got inside my thoughts, convinced me that I was dying. He wants the cure and will continue to torment me until I hand it over." Nik argued.
"Mmm." Nik gave me a look, "Technically ever since I told Callista about Silas, he's left us alone. She must have done something." I said honestly.
"Thank you. Nik's reason is now null and void. Elijah please." Rebekah begged.
Elijah looked between Nik and Rebekah, "I think our sister deserves happiness, brother. Allye is right. Callista has seemed to have kept her word and taken care of Silas. It's been nine days since then and he hasn't confronted you once about the cure." Nik let out a huff and leaned against his chair.
"Very well, but be warned sister. Living a human fantasy as a vampire is much different than actually being human." Nik advised before getting up.
I didn't miss the large grin Rebekah had on her face. She had just received both of her brother's blessings. Well maybe...Nik was kinda cryptic.
Nik walked by me and used his arm to usher me to go with him. We left Elijah and Rebekah alone in the living room.
"Have you heard anything from Callista?" Nik asked and stopped in the foyer.
I shook my head, "Not since she told me that she would handle it. I'm sure if Silas is in town, Callista won't be leaving anytime soon. She really resents her brother for what he did to her. If Silas wants a cure to immortality, something tells me Callista won't let him have it that easily."
Nik nodded in agreement, "It's comforting to know we have our own two thousand year old immortal on our side." I let out a chuckle.
"It is. I'm gonna head into town. I'm meeting Cora and Megan at the Grill for some girl time." I told Nik.
"All right, but be careful, love. Silas is still out there." Nik said and gently placed both his hands on my arms.
"I'll be fine, Nik. I'll see you later." I gave him a quick kiss goodbye before heading out the door.
I closed the front door behind me and walked off the porch. It was a nice crisp fall morning. I made the decision to walk to town instead of driving.
I walked off the Mikaelson property and grabbed my phone from my pocket. I was starting to text Cora when I heard the sound of a car engine. I looked up from my phone to see a black sedan SUV slowing down as they approached me.
The driver side window rolled down to reveal a middle aged woman with brown hair and brown eyes.
"Hi, are you a local?" The woman asked.
"I am. You new to town?" I asked and put my phone back in my pocket.
"That obvious?" The woman said with a grimace.
I gave a light laugh, "Kind of. Are you lost?" The woman nodded.
"I was told the drug store was around the corner from my hotel. I'm guessing I took the wrong corner. Do you know how I can get back into town?" The woman asked.
"Just take a turn around here and take a left at the intersection. Keep going straight and you'll be back in town." I instructed.
"Thanks uh.."
"Allye." I answered.
"Thank you, Allye. My name is Jane-Anne Deveraux." I gave a polite smile.
"No problem. Enjoy your time at Mystic Falls." I said and went to leave.
"Wait, one more thing." I stopped and turned back to Jane-Anne now slightly annoyed.
Jane-Anne grew a sly smile on her face and pointed to my travel mug, "Should you really be drinking coffee? Caffeine isn't good for a baby." I furrowed my brows in complete confusion. Baby?
I suddenly felt someone behind me and a hand forced over my mouth and nose. The smell was extremely bitter and I felt my world go black.
No One's P.O.V
"That went easier than expected." Jane-Anne commented. She watched as none other than Hayley Marshall caught the other Werewolf before she fell to the floor.
"That's because you're not me. Her guard would have been up if I tried something." Hayley said and put Allye's arm over her shoulder.
"Open the back of the truck. She's getting heavy." Hayley told Jane-Anne.
Jane-Anne got out of the driver side and walked around the SUV. She opened the hatchback and helped Hayley load Allye into the back before closing the hatchback.
"How long will those herbs last? It's a full day's trip to get back to New Orleans." Hayley asked.
"I gave her a larger dose. She should be out until we get back to Lafayette Cemetery." Jane-Ann walked back to the driver side and Hayley walked over to the passenger side.
Both women got into the SUV and closed the doors. "Why can't you perform the spell now?" Hayley asked. Jane-Anne turned the steering wheel to have the SUV make a u-turn.
"Every witch uses different kinds of magic. Witches from New Orleans use Ancestral Magic. We have to pull power from our ancestors in order to use ours. That's why we need to get rid of Marcel. We can't just leave our home. We would lose our magic. You better be right about this." Jane-Anne warned.
"I've been around more than enough pregnant werewolves to know the signs. All of them had different pregnancy symptoms but they always had one in common. The smell of alcohol made them sick. It's the werewolves natural instinct to protect the baby." Hayley assured Jane-Anne.
"I'll be able to confirm it's actually the Hybrid's baby once we're back. If it is, I'll keep my part of the deal. I'll tell you all you need to know about your birth family." Said Jane-Anne.
At The Grill…
Cora looked at the entrance of the Grill from her spot at the table. Her eyes scanned the crowds of people as they walked through the front door. She was expecting her sister to walk in at any moment. Allye should have been here by now.
"Any word from Allye yet? We're supposed to be dress shopping soon for the Fall Formal Dance." Megan asked as she sat down at the booth.
Cora let out a sigh, "No, she isn't answering her phone either. This isn't like her. Sorry, Meg but I need to cancel dress shopping with you." Cora said as she got out of the booth.
"Don't worry about it. Let me know once you find Allye." Cora nodded and made her way out of the Grill.
Knocking echoed throughout the Mikaelson Mansion. Klaus was ignoring it for the first two knocks. The knocking then became more and more persistent.
Klaus let out an annoyed huff before heading to the front door.
Knock!Knock!Knock!
"I heard you bloody well the first time!" Klaus yelled. He swung open the front door.
Cora barged through the front door, "Cora. Why are you here?" Klaus confusedly asked.
"Is Allye still here?" Klaus frowned and closed the door.
"No, she left hours ago. She told me was meeting with you and Megan. Have you checked with Megan?" Klaus asked.
"I was with Megan the entire morning. Allye never showed up to meet us at the Grill. She's not answering her phone either. Did anything happen to hurt her enough to make her go AWOL again?" Cora asked. The young werewolf gave a weary eyed stare to Klaus.
Klaus returned her look with a stern gaze towards Cora, "What are you insinuating?" Klaus demanded.
"Allye only does this when she gets hurt. Did you two have a fight again?" Cora asked.
"No, they did not." Cora and Klaus turned to see Elijah walk into the foyer.
"If you two didn't have a fight then that means my sister is missing. I need to call Derek." Cora said and took out her phone. Cora opened the front door and went back outside.
"This has to be Silas." Klaus said and started to pace.
"I don't think so, brother. If this was Silas, don't you think he would have told us himself that he took Allye?" Elijah questioned.
Klaus stopped and looked at his brother, "If it wasn't Silas, then who could have taken Allye?"
Allye's P.O.V
"If you do this, Marcel will kill you." I heard a female voice.
I opened my eyes. My vision was blurry and my limbs felt heavy. I got drugged by something and I don't think it was wolfsbane this time.
"I know the risks, Sophie. But if what Hayley says is true, then this is answer to our problem." That was Jane-Anne's voice. She's the one that took me. Something tells me Hayley helped her. Backstabbing werewolf bitch strikes again.
"You really trust Hayley? She could be lying about this. You took the mate of Klaus Mikaelson. He will kill all of us without batting an eye to get her back." I heard Sophie say back.
I slowly sat up. I took a look at my surroundings. I was in a crypt in a cemetery. I noticed that I had no chains or anything keeping me here. Did these guys really think they could keep me here?
"Look who's up." I turned my attention to Jane-Anne who just walked in. Another woman walked in who looked younger than Jane-Anne. That must be Sophie.
"Why am I here? You clearly know who Nik is and who I am. I'm not even chained up. Not very smart." I said.
Jane-Anne gave a tight lip smile and dug something out of her pocket, "I know you wear this," She held up my hazel ring between her index finger and thumb, "to repel magic from being used on you. You're surrounded by a coven of witches. You wouldn't make it out of here." Jane-Anne threatened me. I didn't even notice my ring was missing.
"How did you know what that did?" I asked.
"Hayley told me. You can thank her for our interest in you by the way." Jane-Anne informed me.
"Why the hell would Hayley tell you about me?" I asked.
"Because she owed me a favor, when she was here a month ago I saved her from some unpleasant vampires in town. She met Katherine Pierce later and disappeared to Mystic Falls. She called me almost two weeks ago and told me something interesting." Jane-Anne started.
"She called me and told me that not only does Klaus Mikaelson, the Original Hybrid himself, have a mate but that his mate is also pregnant with his child." My eyes widened and I felt my chest tighten.
"What?" I asked quietly.
"At least, that's us taking Hayley at her word. We need to confirm it. You could be pregnant but for all we know, it's not even Klaus' kid." Sophie stated.
My eyes glowed red and a snarl left my lips, "You obviously don't know anything about werewolf mates or werewolves in general. We're a very loyal species. I would never cheat on Nik." I said gruffly.
"That's why I needed to take off the ring. I need to cast a spell to confirm the pregnancy and that the child is Klaus'. Vampires can't exactly procreate, but werewolves can. Klaus is the Original Hybrid and nature says he technically shouldn't exist, yet here he is." Jane-Anne told me and kneeled down to my eye level.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked. I could figure out their motive. Clearly I'm supposed to be a hostage to lure Nik here. The question is why.
"All you need to know is there is a vampire named Marcel that runs the French Quarter here in New Orleans. He's banned witches from using magic. If we cast a spell, he will find out and have us killed. We believe Klaus is the key to overthrow Marcel. Normally, someone like that would never bat an eye to help us, but.." Jane-Anne trailed off.
"If you hold me as ransom, he will. How do you know that I'm going to let you do that? You just told me you were banned from using magic. You'll be killed. I could just kill the two of you and be on my way." Jane-Anne gave me a smirk in return.
"I already broke the rule. The risks I'm taking are worth it. Soph, go ahead and show her. We already casted a spell for insurance purposes." I furrowed my brows in confusion.
Sophie held out her hand and pricked her finger with a needle. I felt a prick myself and checked the same finger. I had a bead of blood on my finger where the needle pricked Sophie.
"You linked us." I stated.
Jane-Anne nodded, "So if you kill Sophie, you'll be killing yourself." I said nothing.
That's right. I never told Hayley about me becoming an Original Werewolf therefore, Jane-Anne and Sophie don't know. I could still kill them and be fine however… My eyes down casted on my current flat stomach. I would survive but if I really am pregnant, the baby wouldn't. I need to play along for now.
"Good, now that we're at an understanding," My eyes followed Jane-Anne as she stood back up, "Let's find out if you're really expecting a hybrid baby."
No One's P.O.V
Crash!
Shards of glass spread on the hard floor of the Mikaelson Mansion. Klaus glared into the fire, his breathing heavy from anger coursing through his veins.
This couldn't be happening. Not only did Silas get the cure from Elijah, pretending to be Rebekah. Allye was still missing and nobody had any idea where she could be or who took her. He didn't have the means to contact Callista for any help.
Derek and Cora were still out trying to track Allye's scent but it was quickly fading. Megan was looking for Bonnie to cast a locator spell but she had disappeared herself after the Fall Formal Dance. Elijah went off to find his own lead after they had a brotherly spat. Rebekah would be no help. She was too distraught that her chance of being human was taken away by Silas.
Klaus felt nothing but dread knowing he had no idea about his mates whereabouts. He turned around and his eyes caught on a letter leaning against a glass decanter. He walked over and picked up the letter.
He turned it around to see a wax seal with the letter 'K' on it. He broke the seal and opened the letter.
'Klaus, I hear Elijah has refused you the cure and in return, you have refused me my freedom. Shame on both of you. But I know a quarrel between you boys is the least of your worries right now. I've heard Allye Hale has gone missing without a trace. Lucky for you, I have a reliable source in New Orleans. There's a witch there named Jane-Anne Deveraux that knows where Allye is located. Hunt her down. What she knows will rattle you so deeply to your core that chasing little old me will be the least of your concerns. It's been a fun five centuries, Klaus, but I've worn down too many good heels running from you. Love, and hate, Katerina.'
New Orleans. That's a city he hasn't been to in a long time. He took out his phone and quickly sent a text to Derek.
'Allye's in New Orleans.' Was all he sent. Klaus grabbed his car keys and headed out the front door.
He climbed into the driver's side of his SUV. He unlocked his phone to get to his GPS and stopped seeing his home screen. Allye had changed it to a picture of them.
Klaus took a deep ragged breath, "We'll be together soon again, love." He whispered to himself and tapped on the GPS app.
END
Allye and Klaus will return in: "Alpha in New Orleans".
Well...here we are. I posted this story back in 2015 and worked on it over time. The first book is done. I have three more planned. Alpha in New Orleans is the second book. It will be much shorter than this one since I'm only doing up to Season 2 finale of the Originals. You'll noticed I changed the Prom to a Fall Formal Dance. I mentioned it in a previous chapter. The timeline doesn't make sense in TVD. Hope's birthday is in late May according to the wikipedia and Graduation typically happens in late May/early June. Yet, when Klaus visits back to Mystic Falls for Graduation, Hope isn't born yet and far from it since Hayley is only a few months along. Thank you everyone who has been reading from beginning to end and has kept an eye for updates. I'll work on getting Alpha in New Orleans up tomorrow with it's first two chapters. :)
