Jeremy's Coma-Lost Without You
Yumi writes in her diary as the wind blows. Her trip is postponed because her teacher is under the weather. She takes in the fall breath as the leaves blow. She looks up and sees Allison dragging Aelita away. "Aelita, we have two more classes. Jim and Mr. Delmas already gave you a warning," Allison said. Aelita pulls her arm off of Allison. "I know, but Jeremy! What if he wakes up?" Aelita states. She has a breaking voice and wants to scream, but nothing comes out. "I know. Today is only day three of the coma. We have to do our part and stay calm, not get kicked out of school, and focus on Lyoko." Aelita nods. Yumi gets up and walks up to the girls as Dawn joins them as well. "Aelita, I can go with you today, if you want?" Yumi offers. "Sure. Ulrich is coming too," Aelita said. Yumi smiles. "Did you get any news?" Dawn asks. "Not really. I was trying to ask Mr. Delmas, but Jim blocked me. It was about to get heated when Allison dragged me away." "Wel, as your cousin, I have to make sure you don't end up with forever detention," Allison teases. Later on, Yumi heads to class, and William sits next to her. "Hey, Yumi," William says. "Hey, William," Yumi answers. "How is Jeremy?" "The same. It is so weird." "Yeah, what was the cause of the coma?" "I don't know. All we know is that he will wake up at some point." William hugs Yumi. She coughs. "Sorry. Are you going to visit him?" "Yeah, with Aelita and Ulrich." "Ulrich?" "Yes. Ulrich asked first before I knew he was going. Why? Did you want to come?" "I did, but I think Jeremy's closes friends should be there. I'll pray for him." "You pray?" "No, but given everything. I think I should." Yumi chuckles.
Ulrich doddles in his book during art class. "Jeremy! Shit man! One kid can only worry this much until she or he or they crack!" Ulrich thinks. He sees Aelita with tears on her face as she paints. Ulrich decides to paint as well. He grabs a palette and paints. The art teacher plays music and the song, Lost without You by Robin Thicke plays. Ulrich imagines Jeremy but starts to see Yumi. Ulrich drops his brush and blushes. The teacher walks up to him. "Are you okay, Mr. Stern?" "Yes. I was lost in my thoughts," Ulrich replies. "Well, you have seemed to master the assignment." "I did?" "Yes. Blending colors to replicate your emotions. I know that you and your friends have been dealing with a lot since Jeremy was hospitalized. I also see that you are caring for a sweetheart and you feel conflicted that you are moving on while your friend is unable to." "Wow! Why don't you tell my torture then," Ulrich said. "You are getting an A on this assignment, and the girl wants you both to mature before she enters a relationship with you." The teacher walks away as Ulrich is shocked. "Whoa!" "Whoa is right! I'm getting a B+," Ash said. Odd sits next to Ulrich. "Are you thinking about Yumi? Life is too short." "Shut up, Odd!" Odd laughs. Meanwhile, Allison and Dawn check-in with Aelita. Aelita's tears are on the easel as she paints. She uses bright colors, but tear stains add a dimension to the artwork. "I wish the teacher picked a different song," Aelita said. "Well, the song helped Ulrich get an A. Also, I think your piece is great," Dawn said. "It's okay to think about Jeremy. Let it out and keep the faith," Allison said. Aelita smiles as Brock looks on. He paints as he listens to his friends. "I hope XANA gives us a break. Yesterday was brutal."
Later in the day, Aelita holds Jeremy's hand in his room. "Jeremy, come back to me. I miss you!" Yumi sheds some tears and leaves the room. She sees Ulrich studying. "Studying?" Yumi asks. "Yeah. Seeing Aelita and Jeremy like that. I should study before I cry all night," Ulrich said. Yumi chuckles and sits next to him. "You know, this makes me think about us." Ulrich perks up. "Us?" "Yeah. I know we had our ups and downs, but I lost it when we thought you we lost in the network." "I heard from Odd. After I was found and everything was okay, you drank the soda I gave you." "I did. As a reminder that I need to keep my friends close." Ulrich nods. "But also, that you mean more to me than everyone else. I wish that we were more mature with things. You know?" Ulrich can't believe his ears. "Right. But every day, we get mature. So who knows." Yumi smiles. After visiting hours were done, the three started to leave when they saw two residents. "You know, kids fucking suck," Dr. Becca Chung said. "I know. Why do we have to monitor a teenager in a coma!" Dr. Shane Lien said. Yumi rolls her eyes. But a flash of static came through the residents. Dr. Chung looks at the trio and charges at them, and Yumi grabs her. Dr. Lien runs inside, but Ulrich throws a ball at him. "Aelita! Run!" Ulrich shouts. Over at the park, Odd hears something from Jeremy's laptop. "XANA" "What! Again! I'm tired from yesterday!" Ash exclaims. "XANA knows that and doesn't give a fuck!" Allison said. "Hold on, let me see. I see; it is where that tower was yesterday," Odd said. "We need to call Aelita!" Brock said. "Hello?" Dawn answers Aelita's call. "XANA possessed two residents, and they are trying to attack Jeremy!" Aelita exclaims. "What about Yumi and Ulrich?" "They are going to try to stop them, but we need to get to the factory!" "Okay, see you soon!" "Aelita?" Odd asks. "Yes. Two residents are trying to attack Jeremy," Dawn said. "We did say that somebody needs to be on guard for Jeremy. However, I believe that Ulrich and Yumi will survive," Ash said. "Great. I think I can take a crack at delay virtualization," Odd said. "You think?" Brock asks. "Yeah. I'll send you guys there and wait for Aelita. You four can clear a path for the Princess." "Okay. I trust you!" Dawn said. Odd blushes. "Onward to the factory!" Odd commands.
Ulrich punches Dr. Lien in the stomach and runs. Yumi sprays Dr. Chung with a hose that is near the hospital. Dr. Chung grabs the hose and ties it around Yumi's neck. Yumi kicks the resident in the crotch, and she runs. Dr. Lien trips Ulrich, but he throws dust in his face. In the lab, Odd reads Jeremy's notes. "Okay. I read the notes, and I can send two at a time." "Okay, ladies, first," Ash said. "Scared?" Allison asks. "No. I mean it!" Allison smiles and kisses Ash, which makes him blush. Odd actives the delay virtualization twice and Delta Company arrives at the Mountain Sector. "All clear. Odd, can you send the vehicles?" Brock asks. "No! But you should see the tower," Odd said. "We see it," Dawn said. They run towards the tower but see about sixty hornets. "Sixty hornets!" Ash exclaims. The hornets use their stinger to shoot their poison at the Warriors. "Run!" Brock said. Dawn tries to attack them, but XANA gives the hornets a new power, Agility. "Was that agility?" Allison asks. "Remind me what that is?" Odd asks. "Agility increases the speed of a Pokemon," Brock said. "I see. XANA gained another trick." The hornets' poison creates a field of brown slimes that burns. "What are we going to do?" Dawn asks. Ash thinks. "For now, we should wait." "Wait?" Dawn exclaims. "Yeah. The hornets may not attack until Aelita is here. We have to wait. When their guard is down, we will strike and try to get someone close to the tower." "Okay," Dawn said. After a while, the brown slime goes away. "Attack!" Ash shouts. The four attack as many hornets as they can. After a time, only twenty are left. "Hello? Are you all okay?" Odd asks. "Yeah. We're tired, and it seems the hornets are never-ending," Ash said. "Well, Aelita is almost here. Stay hidden!" Aelita arrives. "Odd, what is happening?" "Well, XANA sent sixty hornets on Lyoko. Ash, Dawn, Brock, and Allison manage to defeat forty of them, but they are tired. They're waiting for you." Aelita blinks. "Okay. Let's go." "I'm staying. Someone has to man the lab. Plus, if Yumi and Ulrich need back up, someone might need to go help." "Okay, can you send me?" "No," Odd said. "Yes, you can. I'll show you," Aelita said. Odd successfully sends Aelita to Lyoko. She runs from some hornets, but Allison uses her Force Field to protect her. "Thanks. What the fuck?" Aelita exclaims. "What the fuck is right! We have forty left, and we're tired," Brock said. At the moment, there is an earthquake. "Earthquake!" They shout. "What is happening?" Odd asks. Odd turns around and sees another resident. "Dr. Marcus Grande!" Odd reads. He shocks Odd. "Odd?" Dawn calls out. "Odd!"
Over at the hospital, Dr. Chung enters Jeremy's room. "For XANA!" She says in her XANA voice. Yumi jumps up from the closet and hits the resident with a vase. Dr, Chung chases her down the hall. Yumi hides when a doctor appears. Yumi uses that to leave the building. Dr. Chung charges the ground and shocks Yumi down the stairs. Dr. Chung picks her up and takes her to the dump. Yumi wakes up and kicks Dr. Chung, and they both fall. Yumi finds some tape and ties Dr. Chung up. Dr. Chung breaks free and cuts a pipe that sprays water at Yumi, and she shocks her out cold and picks her up again. Ulrich pushes Dr. Lein against the wall. Dr. Lien gets up and shocks the lights, and Ulrich is hit. Dr. Lein stands over Ulrich and aims for his neck. Ulrich kicks him in the groin and runs away. Dr. Lien gets up and charges Ulrich. Ulrich bites him and runs down the stairs. Dr. Lein jumps down and grabs Ulrich. "Little brat. How about I'll make you a resident of the hospital, permanently!" Ulrich tries to get out, but Dr. Lein squeezes him until he passes out. On Lyoko, Dawn is calling for Odd. "Odd!" Dawn shouts. "Odd must be dealing with something in the lab. We have to come up with a plan," Aelita said. "I see the tower, but half the hornets are there," Brock said. "Maybe if we trap them, we can get by," Ash said. "I have an idea," Allison said. Meanwhile, Odd walks up to Dr. Grande standing over him. "Well, I don't need a house call," Odd said. Dr. Grande smiles and prepares to shock Odd. "Look, Jeremy woke up!" Dr. Grande looks away, and Odd grabs a pipe hits him on the head, and ties him up. "Oh, XANA, such a shame!" Odd said. He runs back to the Supercomputer. "Hey, did you call?" "Odd, are you okay? Where the fuck did you go!" Dawn shouts. "XANA sent another resident after me, but I tied him up," Odd said. "Okay, we have a plan, and it will be risky." "Risky. Okay!" Brock listens in on the hornets. "Both groups are coming towards the tower." "Okay, Ash, Aelita, are you ready?" Allison asks. "Yes," Aelita said. "I am," Ash said. "Dawn?" Allison asks. "Yeah. I'm ready," Dawn said. Dawn multiples herself and charges at the hornets. The hornets attack her and fly towards her. Brock hits them as they come to her. Meanwhile, Ash and Aelita are moving and creating rocks to entrap the hornets. Allison flies the real Dawn over the busy hornets while using her Poi to take out the hornets. In the lab, Odd looks over his shoulder and notices that Dr. Grande is not there. "Odd, don't look to the left," Odd said out loud. Odd looks, and Dr. Grande is angry. "I told you not to look," Odd said to himself. Dr. Grande grabs Odd. Odd hits him with the pipe but gets electrocuted. Yumi wakes up to Dr. Chung trying to throw her into the river. Yumi kicks her, but Dr. Chung grabs her as she tries to push Yumi over the edge. Ulrich wakes up on a table in the hospital. He sees a tool and uses it to cut himself free. He leaves the room and heads towards Jeremy's room. Dr. Lein is about to shock Jeremy when Ulrich pushes a food cart into him. "Fuck with me!" Ulrich shouts. Dr. Lein chases Ulrich outside. Ulrich finds some rope and uses it to wrangle Dr. Lein. Dr. Lein splits his head in two. "What the fuck?" Ulrich screams. Dr. Lein pulls on the troop and pulls Ulrich towards him and his second head bites Ulrich. Ulrich screams.
On Lyoko, there are ten hornets left, and Ash almost made the trap. Brock runs out of arrows. "Odd! Can you reload me? Odd!" Brock calls out. Odd is fighting with Dr. Grande. "Look, your name means large, right. Well, you seem small to me," Odd said. Dr. Grande makes a big electric wave. "Well, fuck me!" Odd said. He finds a rubber insulator and lets Dr. Grande grab it. "I hope this holds on." Back at the hospital, Ulrich struggles to resist Dr. Lein's strength. Ulrich manages to make it to a tree, and the rope snaps. Dr. Lein sprints to Ulrich and tries to bite him again with his second head, but Ulrich grabs a tree branch; however, Dr. Lein grabs Ulrich's arm and tries to twist it bit Ulrich high kicks him. Dr. Lein charges all the trees and creates an Eletroweb to block Ulrich, then push him into it. Yumi punches Dr. Chung in the stomach, but Dr. Chung turns Yumi around and bangs her head on the railing by the river. On Lyoko, Ash moves the rocks to the correct locations. "Now," Allison shouts. Brock, Dawn, and Aelita move out of the way as Ash traps all but one hornet in a cave. Brock uses a rock to throw at a hornet, which defeats it. Aelita runs into the tower with lightning speed. As she does, Odd's rubber insulator starts to lose hold and breaks. Odd gulps as Dr. Grande grabs Odd and starts to shock him. Ulrich falls and trips Dr. Lein. Dr. Lein grabs Ulrich and brings him towards the web. Dr. Chung grabs Yumi and jumps into the river, but Yumi swings them to the bank. Dr. Chung holds Yumi and tries to put her head into the water. Aelita enters the code LYOKO, and everything freezes. Dr. Chung drops to the ground, Yumi gasps for air, Ulrich falls, and the web is gone. He sighs as he looks at a passed-out Dr. Lein. Odd shakes off the dust as she looks at Dr. Grande. "You did it!" Odd said. "We did. I can tell you how to bring us back," Aelita said. "Good. We have three residents to clean up!" Odd chuckles.
The Warriors decide to place all of the residents in the resident lounge and make them look asleep and coming from the gym. At the dorms, Allison and Dawn tend to Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd's wounds. "Are you okay?" Dawn asks. "Sure. I mean, we had near-death experiences before," Ulrich said. "Yeah, but can we cheer for Odd. I heard he held down the fort in the lab as the others were on Lyoko," Yumi said. Odd blushes. "Doing my part," Odd said. "Okay, but seriously, I said that Jeremy needed protection, and school was busy today," Yumi started. "Hey, we were there at the right time. Tomorrow, we have a day off. We can stay guard while Aelita spends the day with Jeremy," Ulrich said. "Not all day. I have an assignment due in the morning. I lost it the morning after Jeremy was admitted to the hospital and didn't do it," Aelita said. "It's okay. We all been there," Ash said. Allison checks her message. "It looks like since there's no school, our double date is tomorrow." "No. I don't want to go!" Ash whines. Allison snuggles next to Ash and draws hearts on his body. "Hey, that tickles," Ash said. "Please! The date is the chance to make out with me in front of my brother, and he can't say anything without upsetting Moxie," Allison said. Ash thinks about it. "Okay, as long as it is not Le Romantique de voile. I will walk out of the movies." Allison laughs as she kisses him. Everyone else laughs as Aelita thinks about Jeremy. "We'll do that again, soon!"
What a whirlwind. The rule is residents are trained to care for patients, not "take care" of them. Odd, he has the skills. Now, with Allison and Ash going on a double date with Ash J and Moxie, XANA will have a field day. Here's to a smooth day and Jeremy's recovery!
